VCA Animal Hospitals review: Unnecessary testing

VCA (Kapolei, Hawaii)...where UNNECESSARY testing is their specialty!

My new puppy threw up one evening and had diarrhea the next day. I took him to VCA (Kapolei, Hawaii).

I expected an exam and a recommendation to monitor him for the next day or two (as indicated by their web site). Instead, I was charged over $1,800 for various tests. I was very upset at the time and agreed to EVERY test that I was asked to choose from...I was very distraught!

Later, I was more composed and felt that I had been taken advantage of. I raised my concerns with VCA (Kapolei, Hawaii)...but my complaint was dismissed.

One of the fees included outside lab testing...remember, I did pay for EVERY possible test!

The outside lab disputed the VCA (Kapolei, Hawaii) test results. VCA (Kapolei, Hawaii) administered the test again, which again was bad...they wanted to draw blood a third time, to which I said no!

My experience and subsequent complaint handling with VCA (Kapolei, Hawaii) were dreadful. They took advantage of me when I was upset, and I have no confidence nor any assurances from VCA (Kapolei, Hawaii) that ANY of their test results were accurate...they told me that false positives happen.

Save your money and go to another veterinary clinic.
