Vickie Milazzo Will not refund

My wife purchased their VIP program in June 2013 and was supposed to attend in October of 2013. In September 2013 we found out via MRI that she had a brain aneurysm. We did not ask for a refund at the time because she really wanted to attend the course. My wife had brain surgery to clip the aneurysm in late February 2014. We waited several months to see how she would fare, but unfortunately she is not doing well. She has had a stroke and several seizures since the operation, and is in constant head pain. Sallie Mae, who we funded the loan through, wants to be repaid. I contacted Vicky Milazzo Institute and asked them to refund the course costs to Sallie Mae and I would ship the unopened box of books back to them. They are flat out refusing to refund a course that my wife is in no condition to take, as she is still under my care (I have taken FMLA from work to care for her). My wife has numerous conditions that would keep her from attending the course, including seizures and difficulties with cognition. Even though I am out of work on FMLA and she is only receiving 60% of her pay through short-term disability, Vicky Milazzo can't understand that my wife will not be able to take this course in the foreseeable future, and Sallie Mae wants the funds repaid.

Vickie Milazzo Legal Nurse Consulting

I was interested in buying their legal nurse consulting course but heard it was overpriced. It seems their advertising is more about hype and pumping people up than anything else. Apparently they offer a guarantee but here is my question: how many people take the course and return it for a refund vs. keep it and become successful? That stat would help me make a decision. Does anyone know that?

Wow! Such negativity and acid comments stating that Vicki's program is a scam. Balance that with those folks that have actually read the program materials that state you will have to work to get your LNC business off the ground, that marketing is huge. That success doesn't come immediately. All these complaints but no one complains to the BBB which have consistently rated Vicki's program as A+.
I have researched other programs that are much less expensive and that also advertise mentors. But...you get what you pay for...and your success depends on the work you put into it. I plan on taking Vicki's program, obtaining the offered certificate, and becoming an active member in the AALNC. And after logging 2000 hours as a LNC will take the certification exam. It's a process, not immediate success, and is obtainable if you put in the effort.
Yes, do your research, be critical as it's your future. But...a little positivity goes farther than negativity.

I'm thankful I stumbled across this post. Looks like lots of mixed reviews and was glad to see one or two more current. It has been helpful in my decision making to learn about all of the extra expenses, etc (renewal fees, courses for renewal, etc). She certainly has an infectious spirit and her approach draws you in, and as we face dissatisfaction in current roles it's easy to get sucked into the potential and possibility of something like this; I'm thankful I've done further research. The grass isn't always greener on the other side - sometimes it is just different grass. What a great thing that this has worked for some, but seems to be a bit sketchy. Kay_2018 - your information was helpful. I'm curious though - you took the course in 2006... so I'm seeing that over the last 12-13 years this has not been a good career option for you? it has not been beneficial for you? Thanks for any input.

Hello, I spent $10, 000 in 2006 before they dropped the price. Reason for huge drop in price for class- is you most likely will never make the money back that you shell out. Now with the internet, legal firms can contract with "research" groups out of many countries at super low cost. Legal firms have paralegals who can work for much less than a nurse. This class stated it would be "easy" to charge up to $125/ per hour. Just remember this is equivalent to a job with approx $70 an hour plus benefits. You will make more money (if this is your goal)- w/ something related to nursing. You will need substantial savings or a partner who can provide for your base income while you spend years building your business. Hourly rates for attorneys, paralegals and other legal consultants has come down substantially due to the many "search and research" options available to legal firms. I scored 95% in the Vickie Milazzo course and was super excited.

I do not know what they say you will make now in 2018- but what they estimated in 2006 was complete "pie in the sky".

Renewals every 2 years (ridiculous!) are hugely expensive to maintain. I did not even consider this monstrous expense when I signed up.
This "money treadmill" for renewals of your CLNC title will cost aprrox $300-$400+ /every 2 years plus cost of "classes" required for renewal. You will put yourself on a never -ending revolving payment of significant out of pocket money -every 2 years. She could easily have made the renewal process every 4-5 years when she invented this whole system. I hold a Real Estate Brokers license also and renewals are every 4 years.

The super high renewal fee and cost of "renewal" classes every 2 years was not a significant cost I had not expected. I thought the renewal fees and class prices would be similar to state renewal fees. This is not the case. You will have to take more of the outrageously overpriced classes - in addition to the renewal fees (mine were approx $300 +). Don't forget you are also paying to renew your RN license.

Please go to the American Assoc of Legal Nurse Consultants http://www.aalnc.org/. I do not know their current prices- but if I could go back- this is what I would do. Remember you most likely will not have steady work or get high pay- due to the glut of lawyers, paralegals and new research groups available through the internet.

Wishing you success on whichever path you choose!

The above comments has helped me decide not to waste money I cannot afford to lose. I already received my free information packet, but thought I should do my research. So glad I did.

Angela don't be confused. Do what your heart tells you. I certified in 2008. I am not one of the lucky. I am one of the hard working who did as suggested by the mentors. NO regrets about taking Vickie's VIP course or recerting every two years on cruise ship. I worked hard and make GREAT living doing case review and more. Make $125 to 175 per hour and $400, 000 range last few years. Took several years of hard work to get there though. The work is there if you quit whining and work. Two of my clients use dr only for testimony and can't believe they ever used them for review. I am 100% glad I did it. Took 6 years until made enough I completely quit bedside. I waited until made over $100, 000 two consecutive years though.

Now I am very confused. I have been wanting to take this course for several months now but I'm apprehensive on how beneficial it can be. The mixed reviews have me in limbo. Those who have negative things to say about this program makes, me wonder if they used it to its full potential. And if those who praise the program if they are just one of the lucky few. How do I find out the statistics on this program and the percentages of success and failures.

THE so Called Doctor that posted "I took an online course for $110 from eLearners.com and got my Certificate. I have 17 years experience as a personal injury doctor and Vicki's course wouldn't allow me to register because I am not a nurse. What a joke. The joke is on them because I saved thousands. I have to say I didn't learn anything new from the course (and wouldn't have from Vicky either) but I just wanted a Certificate. This is the way to go. I am in the process of mailing my first marketing out rght now. "Why hire a nurse when you can have a doctor? "
hmm, i believe you have posted this because you couldn't make it as a doctor. I would not be disrespecting nurses if I were you.

My cousin is the family lawyer and called me out of the blue one day and asked me if I would "proofread" a chart that was affiliated with a medical malpractice suit. I hesitated and asked him if I had to testify in court and he reassured me that was not going to happen. All he wanted was a 'heads up' or an indicator of something that was not right or just didn't look right in the chart. So I agreed. There was a lot of material to look through as it was a big chart. With 27 years of ICU experience in Cardiac, post op cardiac, Surgical, Medical Intensive care units along with critical care transport systems;I felt qualified to do this as a "Favor" for my cousin. I highlighted areas of the copied chart and added notes in the margins. That is all I did. I am not sure if I was influential in achieving the satisfactory outcome of the case or not but I received a check in the mail for $300 and that was for about 5 hours of actual work! That is $60 an hour. Twice what I make in the hospital for sure and I didn't have to get dirty doing it. This felt good and I thought I would pursue a career as a LNC... that is until I read this complaint blog. I have decided not to shell out the money for all of that hype. I am still doing cases for my cousin although they are few and far in between, who knows? It might still lead to something. Thanks to all who entered their experiences with VM school.

My wife purchased LNC Stat/RN Market and before receiving any product, received news that she was diagnosed with cancer. She advised the owner Veronica Castellana of this diagnosis and needed to cancel the product. Ms. Castellana told her that she would refund her money with proof of cancer diagnosis. (What legitimate company asks for proof) She sent a certified letter to the company with proof. The company then decided to ignore us and keep both the product and our money!. How can this women live with her self that she TOOK ADVANTAGE OF A CANCER PATIENT! Any legitimate company would never find this acceptable. So, a word to the wise, DO NOT enroll in LNC STAT or RN MARKET or you will be scammed one way or another by Veronica Castellana!

YOU WON`T GET A REFUND! THEY PUMP YOU UP AND YOU FEEL LIKE YOUR VERY STUPID IF YOU DON`T TAKE THIS CHANCE. I CAN ALMOST 99% SAY YOU WILL REGRET IT IF YOU TAKE THE 1 WEEK SEMINAR THAT MAKES YOU THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WHEN NURSING SCHOOL WAS SO...HARD BUT AT LEAST IT WAS REALISTIC!
