I received a letter from Viking Services dated 5.10.21, but it wasn't until 5.21.21 that I actually received it. I want to make it clear that I do not believe this debt is valid, and I am notifying Viking Services in writing about my stance on this matter.
I received a notice from the rental agency about false damages on a returned car
I recently received a notice from the rental agency stating that I returned a rental car with damages, which is completely false and baseless. When I returned the rental vehicle, it was in the exact same condition as when I initially received it. Following their instructions, I promptly contacted the agency and provided a detailed statement over the phone, clearly disputing their claim of damages to the vehicle. However, despite my efforts, I received a bill totaling $1,399.60, which includes charges for the alleged damage and an additional $100 for an administrative fee. In an attempt to resolve this issue, I requested documentation of the supposed damages from the agency, but unfortunately, I have not received any response from them. To my surprise, the claim was then sent to collections without any further communication from the agency. I recently received a collections letter from Viking Client Services LLC, dated September 28, 2022, with reference: QS8964, demanding payment of the full amount of $1,399.60. I am well aware of the ongoing trend of false damage claims made by rental companies, which are subsequently passed on to collection agencies like Viking. There have been over 90 ComplaintsBoard.com complaints filed on this very issue, along with numerous lawsuits regarding fraudulent charges. Given the circumstances, I kindly request that this unjust debt be immediately removed from my credit report and that my balance be adjusted to zero.

I recently rented a car in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I picked up the car on Friday, September 24th and returned it on Tuesday, September 28th at the Ft. Lauderdale airport. Throughout my rental period, I took great care of the car and made sure not to cause any damage. When I returned the car, the Budget station agent conducted a thorough inspection and assured me that everything was fine. There was no mention or indication of any damage to the vehicle. I left the Budget car return area at around 10:00 AM to catch my flight, completely unaware of any potential issues.
To my surprise, three weeks later, I received a bill for $1002.84 from Viking Billing Service, claiming that there was damage to the car. I had not received any prior communication from Budget Rental car or Viking Billing Service regarding this matter. Additionally, I never received any photos from either party showing any damage. I am certain that I returned the vehicle in the same condition as when I received it, without causing any harm.
In an attempt to resolve this issue, I called Viking Billing Services on Monday, October 18th to dispute the bill. However, the employee I spoke to seemed uninterested in listening to my side of the story. She simply insisted that the bill must be paid and suggested that I report it to my auto insurance company. I requested to speak with Joe ***, the person who initially left me a phone message, but I was informed that he was unavailable and would call me back. Unfortunately, I never received a return call from Joe *** or had the opportunity to discuss the matter with him.
I firmly believe that this fee is an unjust attempt to extort more money from me because I declined the auto insurance option when I rented the vehicle. Once again, I returned the car in the same condition as when I received it. I kindly request your assistance in resolving this matter. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
