ViSalus unauthorized charges

Spoke with a Visalus sales representative on the phone after connecting with him online via a chat room. He called himself "Max" and his voice mail box says he's "Max Potter", but this may be a fake name. I ended up ordering 6 bags of protein powder over the phone for a total of $321 or thereabouts. One bag is good for one month, so he told me to call in 6 months for another order. However, one month later, I see my credit card has been charge another $300 for another 6 bags of powder. I called the company directly and they agreed that this was clearly a mistake as there's no way I'd be ordering 6 bags every month, yet this is what "Max" had put in the system to occur (at a cost to me of $300/month!). As my order was done over the phone and no secret "terms and agreements" box had been checked off without reading the small print...he clearly did this on his own. I had to cancel my credit card to avoid further charges, and although the company promised to reverse the charges and cancel the order, this has yet to occur.

This company has since replied in an extremely positive way and the situation has been completely rectified. They heard the complaint loud and clear and went out of their way to fix it quickly and sufficiently. I will not hesitate to order again from them in the future, based solely on their reaction to this matter.

ViSalus refund/taking out of account

I have sent 3 different things back to them and no refund as of 8 months now, I stopped all transactions from coming out of my account and they started taking money out of my account again without my authorization. Stopped for 8 months, still owe me money, and NOW are taking more money from me. Unacceptable and not a great customer service as far as I'm concerned. All the people care about are getting their money and their BMW's. This need to stop

Have you contacted the person who you purchased from? Between them and their Ambassador they can assist you with making sure this doesn't happen and gets straightened out. I would contact them as well. I am sorry that this is happening to you. I have never had issues with unauthorized charges.

I don't think you are telling customer service what you want. I have NEVER had a problem with them. They always did exactly what I told them to do to help me. Be specific. Go on to your account if you have trouble getting customer service to help you and deactivate your account.

I signed up under my friend who was having success. When I got my kit I was using it for about two weeks and really did not see any results. Going into the third week I started getting BAD headaches. I stopped using the product and after a few days they went away. I tried the products again and two weeks later the headaches started again but this time they were even worse, so I stopped taking the products.
I was told, to get me to sign up, is that I had a 90 day guarantee that if I wasn't satisfied I could get a full refund. Well I called, and the 90 day guarantee is only if you use the product for the full 90 days and you do not get the results you were looking for, NOT if I got an allergic reaction or the product made me sick. This makes no sense, if a product makes you sick why do I not qualify for a FULL refund. I ONLY get a refund for product that I did not use in my promoter package and NOT the second order that came to me. I would NOT recommend getting involved with this company at all when I am told one thing and end up with another. I will be sure to let ALL that will listen to stay away from this product.

This is a very BAD company. DO NOT order or get into this scam. When you sign up, you are automatically put on an auto ship order. They will charge your credit card every month and continue to send you the products until you cancel. You can never get anyone over the phone to cancel, you must cancel online... But the problem is, you need a password to get into your account that is never given to you until you speak with someone over the phone. In other words one big circle of scams. In the meantime, time is ticking and you will continue to be charged and receive shipments. Finally, if you EVER decide to send the shipments back, they will ONLY give you merchandise credit instead of money back. PLEASE BEWARE! This company will be reported to the BBB.

I was interested this program because I had a friend that was using ViSalus and I did indeed see the weight drop from him, so I reached out to inquire about it. Yes, he gave me the typical sales speak about how this product works, you don't have to change your diet, and you don't have to do extreme exercises to drop the weight, I found out through our conversations that he was a distributor for them. Like everyone else, I signed up for it. I started taking the shakes and instead of me dropping pounds, I started to gain. I even got myself a personal trainer and I was still gaining. I stopped taking the shakes, still met with my trainer twice a week while going to the gym every other day and the weight that I put on from the shakes started to fall off. I called my friend and advised him that I wanted to cancel my auto ship. He didn't respond back to text or FB Message for 3 days, but when he did he gave me the toll free number. I called them on my way to my trainer which takes me about an hour to get to and when I made it to my trainer no one picked up the line. I disconnected and called back on my way back home. Hour and 20 mins due to traffic and as I was pulling into my driveway they answered. I advised the guy that I wanted to cancel my auto ship and the reason why. He cancelled my auto ship but never gave me a return code for a refund. I have two un opened boxes of their product that I would like to return and get my $539.08 back. So I guess I will be calling them again and holding for a very long time.

I was quickly rushed into signing up as a distributor. I never opend the products and am trying to quit due to a death in my family. I called and they said to email. I emailed and got a return email saying to log into the webiste with my log in and password and I can quit. Well I was NEVER given a log in or password. The person who signed me up isnt answering my emails. I was pushed quickly now that I want out they are giving me a very hard time of cirlces. I intend to take them to small claims court for the return of my original investment. I have lots of family in their location of Michigan so it is no inconvience to sue them. What they are doing is making it impossible for me to quit or return $500 of products, in fact they billed my credit card this month for auto payents on using their website...you know the one I was never given a password or log in for. I was never told about this monthly charge. Oh yes, I am claiming fraud through my bank on that charge.

I have a friend who bought into this stuff hook, line, & sinker. Apparently there are videos on Youtube with a "Testimonial" from Ashley Sarnicola claiming that she was diagnosed with Chronic Pain Syndrome/ Fibromyalgia and how when she started this program that in a matter of weeks that she was CURED and no longer suffers from either of those anymore. I have both of those and there is NO CURE for either of them. Also if this was some "miracle cure" as she so boldly preaches, don't you think that EVERY website/support group/medical specialist for Fibromyalgia & Chronic Pain Syndrome would endorse their product to the entire community of patients?!? Sorry I'm going to have to wave the BS flag at this. Anybody remember that whole Equinox crap that was around a while back? This is just the new "snake oil" of the moment and just like them will fade away in due time.

contact your credit card company and let them know what is going on, if all else fails report your card as stolen, that way I believe you should get a new number or at least a new security code number on the back of the card, aka CVVR# that should stop them. I have tried the shakes, they didn't work, no weight loss, and ended up at emerge with nasty side effects more times than I cared to be there this year. 4 times in a period of a month to be exact. Emailed the rep I purchased from also headquarters, with no reply. I know this program has worked for some, but not me. Why is it when you are willing to open your wallet they are available at all hours to take your money, and when you have a slight complaint or want a refund, they are nowhere to be found. A little shady and a little sketchy if you ask me. I agree with all the negative comments above, it's just too bad any of this happened to anyone. Thanks for listening and I hope you get your $$ back.

I have the same problem. They opened up 2 accounts under my name and I emailed them saying this was a mistake. 24 hour later - my credit card was billed twice! 1 week later - still no response. No email back nothing!

I don't care how much money you make a day - customer service means you respond to customer complaints within 24 hours!

I will need to return the products...COD... get a receipt showing I returned them and try and convince the credit card company about not getting the product and not wanting it and wanting my money back.

This company is a rip=off... I wished I went to the grocery store to buy a meal replacement drink!

Well, THEY ARE A SCAM in Alaska they are targeting Arbonne Consultants. If ViSalus was a memeber of the DSA maybe they would know they are being unethical. Too bad so many people will finance a BMW that they can't afford to begin with, then when ViSalus gets BUSTED and shut down, they will be stuck with it. My whole family has resigned from Visalus, where we were Founders in the UK. They have double billed my wife's account for the last few months, refused to take back product, and we generally cannot believe in the founders. To create an inflated PR move for their international marketing efforts, they stacked promoters to create ambassadors and other ranks here. They then use the results to promote themselves in other countries to help their expansion efforts. They have been hit by 2 RICO lawsuits already ( the last just this week), alleging theft, phone and computer hacking, breaking and entering, fraud, being a pyramid scheme, etc. Anyone with any sense that can read, can check out http://www.prweb.com/releases/2014/07/prweb12012471.htm for the latest RICO suit and check out Blyth corporate filings online. Blyth is a public traded company and has to publish reports every quarter. Just check out Visalus performance since 2012.. Blyth stock was at $44.60 at the high point in 2012. Now is at $7.07. Visalus has gone from 114, 000 promoters to just 36, 000 in North America and 3500 International. Qualifying the international figure, we had 4000 in the UK alone in June 2013, now they have opened Germany, Austria and Ireland. According to the reports from Blyth, Visalus has lost sales and revenue every quarter since 2012. Since the 3rd quarter of 2013, they have lost $11.7 million dollars.

PS, the shipments come faster than even 2 people can consume them. If they would have cancelled our subscription like we wanted, they may have kept a customer, but now their refusal to cancel our subscription has turned us way off. Honestly, I think any protien shake will serve the same purpose.

I have email them 8 times to cancel our subscription and they refuse to do so. I called and they said my husband must call. My name is on the credit card. I finally reported our credit card as lost so they can no longer bill us. What a pain in the but! This company is obviously dishonest and purposefully making it difficult to cancel. BUYER BEWARE!

I am a Shaklee Dist and yes they do target other MLM reps. I was just hit on today and it is the third time this has happened. I checked out their shakes out of curiosity and found that they had artificial ingredients including artificial sweetener. When they compared their shakes to other companies they used one from Shaklee that was outdated and hasn't been used in many years. They also had the wrong figures in it so if they have to lie to make their product look better that is a big negative in my book. They also compared their product using just the powder not the the actual figures for the drinkable product yet those compared were the drinkable product. Way to lie to your customers!

Compared to Shaklee, a company that does business according to the Golden Rule, does not force autoship, and pays to infinity, they just can't compare. Visalus just has nothing in common period. I enjoy what I do and the company that I am with. There is no talking to people who get into Visalus or other MLM's that are similar to it until after they crash. Even then some of them go running off to the next one and the next. You won't get anywhere if you are with the wrong company and keep repeating history.

I feel Visalus limits it's reps partially because they have a limited product line. Shaklee has over 300 products which cover other areas that people buy besides weight loss programs. Shaklee has also been around for 56 years. Dr Shaklee created the first vita/mineral supplement back in 1915. That is almost 100 years ago. How far back does Visalus go? Our Olympic athletes use Shaklee because they trust it. NASA asked Shaklee to create a re-hydration dring for the astronauts back in 1993 which they still use today. Shaklee was used by the team that climbed Mount Everest for the first time without oxygen. The list goes on and on. Again I ask what has Visalus done?

What ever path you decide to travel and the company that you choose to partner with I wish you all the best. Just remember you need a company that will still be there for you now, tomorrow, and in retirement. Did you know that Shaklee businesses can be willed to someone that you choose. A great thing to be able to leave your business to your children and their children.

Everybody associated with this company gives the impression they are partying all the time because they are all making money. The founders have lured a new generation of hopeless entrepreneurs into believing they'll make tons of money but in fact the founders are getting rich off of the naivete of this young generation. The fact of my experience with Visalus customer support warns me this company will not be around for the long haul. Here is my story (DUNG-DUNG):

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR AUTO-SHIP! That is where they will catch you. Because they will DOUBLE ship you product and then give you a hard time to return the product. Once they authorize you to return the product it will be at your expense because they won't refund the shipping costs. Amazing scammers. Even when you cancel the auto ship you will still receive product again with the same BS of having to foot the bill for shipping. They refund you he product amount but not the shipping costs.

The last straw was last week I called to cancel the auto-ship for my wife. They were able to cancel the shipment but guess what? We still got charged for the product and shipping. They refunded the product but not for the shipping - BUT THEY DIDN'T SHIP THE PRODUCT!

So my daughter canceled her ViSalus membership in March 2012 and they did not charge her account or send any product in April 2012, but all of a sudden 5/31/12 they charged her account $115.68. We contacted them immediately and they stated to just return the product when it arrives and they would refund her account. Well she returned the product and here we are 7/13/12 and guess what ViSalus is saying now - they are not refunding her money! This is complete Fraud and they have stolen $115.68. We have contacted the NCSECU who have also been trying to work with this company (yes ViSalus you know who you did this too). Please refund her $115.68 as you have her money and the product - not good business. I am filing complaints with Attorney General in Michigan and the BBB.
