Horrible service
I have reached out to the email on the app, Facebook page messaging and Instagram messaging. I have received no response from any of them. This has been ongoing for a week. If you’re going to deal with peoples money, there should be a way to contact when issues arise. Especially with such a faulty system. Would suggest steering clear. There are better companies out there without the headache

I’ve had this app for the last six months and it used to work great... I had purchased there membership tier which guarantees you at least $75 advance which can come in handy... it was a great app until they came out with a new version and now it’s been nothing but problems...
The tier membership level that I had before I don’t even see it offered now, the system refuses to let me even buy a membership at all, and despite making a good living and having my pay check direct deposited into the same account that up until the new version came out was great... now the app is giving me some crazy message about not being able to detect my direct deposit... sounds like a load of BS to me... look best advice if any of us can find a way to download the previous version than I recommend this app 100% as that was great this one... stay away or invest in aspirin!
Instant money? More like instant regret
Only had the app for one day. It’s a weekday, and I requested money well before 12 PM and it’s the end of the business day and I still haven’t received any money.
The app will tell you that you can get it in the same day, but then they email you and say it will take 2 days. And it takes 4 days for the payment to clear. Why so long? Are they counting the digital money one bit at a time in binary or something?
There is no way I would recommend this app to anyone. Very untrustworthy and not reliable at all. Why is it so difficult for this application to do what every other app of this kind can do?

Not The Best Advance App
The first problem is that it states deposits on advances are instant, which charges extra. It took two day to deposit into my account with “instant transfer”. Second, I tried to pay my advance back early and it would not allow me because my payment was already “processing”, not sure how it could be processing before the due date. Third, once my payback payment cleared my account, I had no access to the app for three days because they were “completing maintenance”. Fourth, after the “maintenance” was done and I was able to get into the app I noticed a message that there was a “cooling period” of five days after repayment. It’s now been over five days and it still won’t allow me to pull an advance. I would recommend you use Earnin, Brigit, Dave or MoneyLion for advances, yes they have fees for instant transfers but they tend to give higher maxes and you don’t have to pay for a tier.
I wanted and tried to like Vola…
But it just didn’t like me.
I’m a lucky one. I do well financially which can be easily verified but like anyone in life I’ve ran into dating the wrong person, making bad financial decisions and having my identity stolen. On top of a terrible (yet classy) taste in nice things.
In steps a sorts of problems. So, I wanted to get back on the right track and utilize a Fintech app to help me. With my salary they typically have no problems even if my credit is terrible.
Vola didn’t give a ton or none. Vola simply couldn’t get its software to update my accounts properly. After days of back and forth with support. I finally said “no more, I’ve had enough” and deleted them.
I wouldn’t say “DON’T” give them a shot. I would see BE SURE they work with your bank before divulging them with s your info. Because they sure as Heck aren’t going to stop you from giving them everything.

I received my first loan but then decided I no longer wanted to use the app...I paid back my loan and it has cleared my bank but I can’t removed my account from this app..I keep receiving an error stating I can’t close my account with a pending loan. I contacted customer service more than six times and never received a reply...I’m definitely reporting this app to Apple..hopefully they’ll remove it. Whatever you do..DO NOT use this app...”Dave” and “Brigit” are amazing..the loan only takes a day to process and if you need funds you can take them right back...easy to pay back and customer service responds within hours...DO NOT USE VOLA! It’s a waste of time and a scam...Customer Service pretends to care by responding to a few reviews and directing them to email them directly but they never reply to the emails...Don't be fooled by the phony positive reviews...This app is a joke and a complete scam...
DO NOT GO WITH VOLA
The phone number they have listed to get ahold of them is not a working number, it’s fake. I have wrote them multiple times through email with absolutely NO RESPONSE in regards the the money I have on my Vola card that I CAN NOT USE OR TRANSFER TO BE ABOE TO GET MY MONEY. So they are literally holding my money and not allowing me to use it and not responding. So technically it’s theft at this point and negligence from the company. However, I tried to request money to see if that worked. Wouldn’t you know it. I got an email response right away telling me my money will be there within 2 business days EVEN THO ON THE APP IT SAYS IT WILL BE IN MY ACCONT BY THR END OF THE DAY. So again another lie. This company has stolen my money, ignored my emails about trying to get my money, gives false information about their services and have a fake number listed to get ahold of them. My next step will be a law suit.

This app was extremely helpful! I was recently home from university during my winter break, and I was unable to work at my on-campus job so I didn’t have a source of income. Since I had plans to catch up with my hometown friends, I needed money for going out. I was able to borrow some money just for the month to sustain my social life. By using Vola, I was able to let loose for a couple of weeks and not worry about school or money. Knowing myself, I would be able to pay it back once I started working again. The best feature on this app is that I was able to request an extension for my repayment date, which was a big help when I just got back into the swing of the school semester. I was able to repay my advance with no issues, and the app’s interface was easy to navigate. I did have questions about extending my repayment date, so I emailed them and got a response within a few hours. I will definitely be using Vola in the future!
Avoid this app
Alright so I downloaded this app last night after I did some research about credit building apps. I signed up for one of their tiers and requested $40.00. The app advised it would take 24hrs... cool I didn’t really need 40 bucks, I just signed up for one of the cheaper tiers to eventually add another positive trade line to my credit report. So the 24hours rolls around and I notice no deposit. So I e-mailed about my concern, after all I’m paying a subscription fee to use the app. No reply. So I go online to find a number, and I call it. Now mind you they 24/7 customer support so I actually expected to get a real person... nope! A message just telling me the person at that extension is not available. So much for 24 hour service.
If I’m still up at midnight I’ll probably cancel the service and, block transactions from them with my bank in the morning. If they happen to even send me the cash I’ll promptly return it.

Kinda Useless
Used this app on and off for about 7-8 months...despite a relatively high income, paying for their weird tiered membership (which was I believe supposed to allow borrowing “up to” $75ish) and consistent repayment history, I was only ever able to borrow $30 at a time. This was the original limit I was given upon signing up for the app and remained that amount until the day I closed my account. Nothing shady here & no issues closing my account, it’s just $30 is barely a tank of gas. Most of the other competing apps of this kind I signed up for around the same time quickly allowed me to borrow more upon several prompt repayments (i.e. Dave, Solo, Brigit, Albert, etc). This one works in a pinch but the limits remain consistently low and there is an excessive amount of app downtime due to maintenance (something I admittedly know absolutely nothing about—all I know is there is no other app I use of any kind which has that much downtime for any reason, maintenance or otherwise).
1st Time User - Dave may be the way to go!
Hey! I’m a first time user of the app. I must say everything was easy to upload and easy to understand. I was approved for $75. The only issue I have so far, was I needed money right away and I paid the extra fee to have it sent to my bank within a few hours. It’s been 2 days and I’ve yet to receive anything at all. There is no Bank Holiday so I’m a little confused. We will see how this goes and if I’m kicking myself later for not reading the “Critical Reviews” first. Unlike this app, Dave sent it right away after paying the extra fees. If and when I receive my money, I’ll update my review. Thanks!
Update #1- Received my money. It was for $75. As soon as it was deposited they took $10.99 out. Why they don’t add it on to what’s owed or automatically give you a higher amount (knowing they’re going to take it out right away)is beyond me. Dropping my experience and review to 1 Star. Depending on how the payback goes with determine my next review. So far, I really wanted to love it but Dave seems the way to go.
Does not advance money instantly
I downloaded this app to request an “instant” cash advance on 9/10/22. I was only approved for $20 but requested the advance anyway. It’s now 9/12/22 and still haven’t seen the $20 deposit yet. I sent an email to customer support on 9/11/22 and just now got a response back (9/12/22), stating; “I see that your transfer was created and the advance should reach you shortly.
It typically takes 4-5 business hours. So it's a little slower over weekends and banking holidays.
That being said, we're adding a new functionality to make the transfer instant.
One such addition is the Vola Card, when you request an Advance to your Vola Card the money will be available for use instantly in real time.”
So even though advertised in the App Store, the Vola Card is currently not available and can not be found anywhere in the app.
So if you need money quickly, I do not recommend using this app until they actually can complete transactions “instantly” like they already claim they can. I’d look into using Dave or Brigit apps instead. They are easier to use and a instant transaction is exactly that.
Never as “easy” as it seems.
I’m new to app/company. Upon setting up my account, I added my bank account information it was accepted without any problems. However, it’s now telling me my bank doesn’t qualify.

This is not only my MAIN bank account, it’s the ONLY one I have or need, and yes I have a savings account but that’s irrelevant. Not quite sure what the issue is, as any subscriptions I have or have had aren’t viewable, my account is 12+ months old, and my income is directly deposited in said account. There shouldn’t be an issue whatsoever, but here we are. It’s a federal credit Union.
Considering this is my first time attempting to use this app/company having only used apps like Dave or Empower less than a 2-3x, and this is what I encounter upon the initial set-up. Doesn’t appear to be something I’d want to waste my time on, nor trust to remotely access my financial information much less provide me with any type of financial advice or guidance. Read before you click & accept!
I opted to download this app based on the positive reviews and was hoping to receive a quick cash advance to supplement my checking account till my next pay day. Setup is pretty similar to other apps, but when it came to the advance options if you are not careful will quickly pick one option for you. Monthly subscriptions are $6.99 for a $50 advance & $11.99 for a $75 advance. I was willing to pay the higher monthly subscription to get the higher advance amount, but before you know it I had to accept the lower advance. After navigating the app I was able to opt for the higher advance, only to find out I was billed for both monthly subscriptions. This also overdrew my account. Most cash advance apps never collect the monthly subscription till you at least payback the advance. I love how this app. was quick to debit my account & lagged to credit my account. I have since messaged the app support twice as to why I was billed for both subscriptions with no response. In general “Buyer Beware” & research other apps that don’t debit your account before they credit it! I hope they refund the second higher subscription amount, but if they don’t I will disputing with my bank. Lastly, after I pay back my advance I am canceling my subscription to this app. Very unsatisfied & disappointed with the level of service & no customer support this app. provides. BIG MISTAKE! Vola Virtual Card HACKED
I have had Vola for at least a year if not longer. The advance has always worked for me and I would have it deposited into my bank account. Well this past week I went to get another advance from Vola and it asked me did I want to get the advance transferred immediately over to my “vola virtual card”.. it also said it could be spent and used as a normal debit card and could be transferred to your digital wallet..(Apple Cash, Googlepay).. I have never used Vola’s virtual card nor have I ever used a digital wallet, however, I said I’ll give it a try. BIG MISTAKE! Literally within 5 minutes of receiving the advance to the Vola virtual card, I saw a charge pop up ON VOLA, ON THE APP, not in my digital wallet, because I hadn’t even had a chance to set that up or connect the card yet.. but the charge was for $106 dollars, which was nearly all of my advance that I had just received! The charge said “elastum simplex”.. I searched and it appears as though that is crypto currency. I reached out to Vola immediately.. not once.. not twice.. but three times and have yet to hear anything from them and also the charge is still appearing on Vola’s statement and it has rendered my advance completely useless and I absolutely refuse to pay back $106 that I never spent! Come on Vola. The card was obviously hacked from your app so it leads me to believe your app is not secure at all.. how could this even happen? And then it not be made right and you just ignore your paying customers?
Terrible/Fair
Edit Update: so I gave this app a really bad rating but in fact it didn’t deserve this. I actually got my money that morning and custom tee service told me that same morning just to wait until the end of the day. It did arrive, I paid it off and even was able to do another loan and just paid that off. I see a few reviews stating money being taken out early or things being iffy. If you’re an iffy person with money it’ll just carry over to this app. Most ppl who find this app are in desperate need.. money coming out two days early? Well with my bank any money that comes out and reversed so therefore I’m never charged an overdraft fee. You can’t get mad st them cause your bank doesn’t have your back. If you request on Monday, you get it by Tuesday (I did it). If you request on Wednesday, then you’ll get it Thursday but if you do it Thursday or Friday. Don’t expect to see it until Monday or Tuesday. One guy was upset because Vola charged him half the balance then charged him a balance two days earlier and then charged him the remainder .. baby, use overdraft protection. Thanks Vola, keep doing your thing.
I sign all the documentation and approve you for a loan. You go through with it and it says wait 24 hours. EXCEPT Saturday and Sunday, understandable.. except I made the loan and got approved on WED and it’s now Saturday and not a dime was placed into my account.. but my due date sure as hell is still set and ready to withdraw money from my account. LET YOU TRY! That’s sad. You’re playing games on ppl and then going ghost because I’ve sent several emails and NOTHING. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP. I was enrolled in the “Diamond” tier subscription for $19.99 monthly and Vola withdrew that amount from my bank account on January 16. I also repaid a previous advance via ACH a few days after that. When I attempted to request a $225 advance, I received an error message stating “cash advance failed” and upon submitting a ticket, I was informed that Vola no longer supported my bank account because I “stopped automatic payments” which clearly was not true. After that, I received no further responses from their customer service department which is highly unprofessional. I cancelled my subscription and deleted my account but I also expect a refund for my last subscription payment. Vola will no longer respond to my emails. Based on this situation and after reading several other complaints regarding similar situations, Vola is clearly a scam. Avoid using this app under all circumstances!

$20 referral bonus for signing up never received and no response from customer service.
First off they don't accept any bank that I bank with or half the people I know bank with so, it was a headache signing up to begin with. They accept venmo but because it's not my primary bank it's not good enough and they want me to add a different one.
I got an email with a referral code VOLA1234 that stated I would get $20 immediately deposited into my account using thst code simply for signing up. Venmo is not good enough, although they work with venmo, to deposit my $20 into so, I never got the $20. I sent customer service an email 2 days ago now and nothing in response.
Desired outcome: I want the $20 guaranteed to me with no strings attached outside of signing up as stated in the email I received from them.

Bad Customer Service
I have reached out to customer service via the Vola app four times to change my repayment date. I have yet to get a response back from anyone and the phone numbers that they have online are incorrect. When you have a business that deals with money, taking money from bank accounts, etc, there needs to be a direct way to get in touch with the company. This is very bad business and I would not recommend this app to my worst enemy!
Can’t sign in.
It started this morning around 6am, June 23rd 2023. I tried to sign in, and it keeps telling me to ‘Please update my application’ in a little notice box. Funds fraudulently removed from Digital Vola Card
It has now been nearly 2 months since money was fraudulently taken from my digital Vola card and I keep getting the run around. I’m beginning to think it was someone from your company who did this, as all I get is “we’re looking into it”, and “we’re figuring out how to do things.” And then I hear nothing. The lack of concern and communication by this company is highly concerning.

Absolutely redundant
This pandemic has me and my family in a financial freefall I needed money ASAP so I downloaded this app after seeing a bunch of good reviews so I had high hopes already. So I signed up and tried to get an advance but the app showed an error that said that my bank isn’t supported by Vola. How is Wells Fargo not supported when it’s one of the options ? This was a complete waste of my time.

Customer service is not available
I’ve been trying to verify my information at the en it was impossible and I received a mail from the app saying that I needed to contact customer support. Well, guess what? Every time that I tried to contact them I received this ad on the screen saying that “mail option is not available” but in fact there’s no other option. What kind of game is that? So it can’t work properly and also is impossible to fix.

Please Avoid Using Viola
Great concept however they have HORRIBLE customer service. I seriously have tried every means to contact them but on their app their mail feature is disabled and they never answer their customer service line. I was able to request $75 advance and paid the $11 month fee. Once it was paid back they disabled my cash advance option but are still charging me monthly fees. I now have to go through my bank and report them as frauds. Yikes.

Lousy app
Vola is a joke. They claim that their “for college students” and promote financial stability yet they will automatically deduct the balance of your loan from your bank account without regard to how low it may be; even going so far as to overdraw your account. There’s far better options. The Dave App provides nearly an identical service AND they won’t pull the money you owe for the ‘loan’ out of your bank unless you have sufficient funds.

NOT HAPPY WITH THIS APP
I downloaded this app about a month ago and it took two weeks for the app to even let me sign up for a tier. Now that I have signed up for a tier and my bank was charged, the app won’t let me request an advance. I have tried repeatedly and I keep getting “Cash Request Failed” which is odd since there was no problem charging my account the fee. I have tried to contact customer service many times and have received no response. This app seems to be a scam, I don’t recommend downloading.

Don’t get it
Compared to 2 other similar apps I’ve used that offer this same service this one has to be the worst. They start you off at $35 for a cash advance then you have to wait 2 business days to get it deposited in your account. Not worth it. If a person is using an app like this it’s usually bc the funds are needed urgently, not 2 business days later. And it’s only $35. Big thumbs down will not be using again. The app stated allow two business days to receive funds NOT 4-5 hours. That’s a big lie

Another crap app. I added all my info banking everything. It kept telling me it won’t accept my bank. CHASE! F ckin CHASE NKT ACCEPTED. Chase isn’t some cheap bank on the corner of a shady street man. How does this app not accept chase. I truly don’t understand I did everything it told me to do. I even had two friend help double check to make sure I did it right the second time. Yet it still said no to my verification. I have never had this problem before and am very confused. So I wanted to contact customer support like the app told me to. Well... now it says “mail service not available” I only needed $25 badly. I will say it did give me the $25 that’s why I’m giving this app 2 stars. I wish I could give it more but everything els has been a hassle.

Crap, NO customer service
Made an account , put in all my info, and now when i hit “get cash” option it takes me to a tab titled “Tier Subscription” that never loads. So i’m stuck and can’t do anything. Wouldn’t have gone as far a 1 star just yet had it not been that I’ve called them 3 times with no answer. What’s the point of “24/7” assistance when you can’t even answer a phone call? And I’ve been calling during a weekday during normal business hours , not an odd time. I’ve already read bad reviews on them getting back to people w unresolved issues so I’m not even going to waste time emailing them.

Scam Stay away
This app is a scam to lure college students to borrow money. They fail to mention that the fee is not a one time fee but they charge you the fee monthly regardless of you borrowing the money. You can’t cancel the subscription nor can you remove your bank information from the app. They have complete access to your account and are able to withdraw money as they please. There is no customer service and the finance department specialist are utterly rude and do not explain the process of their system. It starts off simple and great and then without your knowledge or consent they withdraw additional fees.

I decided to try this app for those times when I might be short on cash. The app asks you information about your GPA and school stats and then assigns you points based on these numbers. Once you get a number of points you can advance to the next level which allows you to borrow more cash. When I tried to use the app, I received a message first to check back later due to high demand. Then, I received a message that they are no longer accepting applications due to high demand. The app itself looks buggy and states that it is under construction. Disappointed and I would not recommend this app until these glitches are fixed.

ZERO STARS
I would give zero stars if I could. First, when you request for an advance they have an message staging if you request it before 12 your advance will deposit instantly...WRONG ! It takes 3 days before they deposit it. In my case I NEVER received my advance. I emailed contact support and it takes them 1-2 days for a response. Second, they do not allow you to pay the money back early, they want to withdraw it from your account. Third, you have to pay a monthly fee even if you do not request money. I have been using Earnins and moneylion for years and I never had these issues. I highly recommend you guys to try them instead.

Shady
I had an account set up and everything and when I applied for a loan it said it was approved and sending funds in 2-3 business days. I thought “oh cool” then when the funds didn’t come by day 4 I tried checking the app, my account was deleted or locked could not figure it out. Wouldn’t let me send a password reset to my email and would not let me make a new account. They never did give me the loan and never did charge my bank for it as far as I could tell. But that’s real shady and I’m pretty sure they change people’s passwords or lock accounts to try and ding people’s banks accounts for money while you wait and wait and wait for customer support to try and figure out what’s going on. Shady business
