The farmer's carry is essentially a full body exercise which enhances the muscles of the shoulder girdles, develops the grip, develops the core, and encourages better balance and coordination. It also helps to promote proper posture and resembles realistic activities which are helpful in performing daily tasks such as grocery shopping and decrease the chances of sustaining any injury while doing so.
The farmer's carry is a back compression exercise, so wouldn't it make the most sense to start with this one, since the rest of them (especially the dead hang) are back decompression exercises? This is a sincere question; I'm not trying to be a jerk.
I would do farmer’s carry with knees bent…you don’t want to break your back doing this at over 40 y/o
These are good exercises. Farmer’s carry really works that grip strength and you can appreciate how not good it is pretty quickly. For a person that could not do/hold the squat at all weight plates/2x4/book etc is really good option to get there at first.
I did the Farmers Carry this morning for the first time...that was tough
Can we do farmers’ carry on a treadmill ?
In addition to (or in place of) the farmer's carry, you should have included the suitcase carry. It is actually a much better core exercise.
