My employment
I was hired by Gardaworld for security as a secondary position. I was provided the contact information for a local contact who schedules police officers for secondary shifts. Once I received an employee number I was told I needed to access shifts, I was able to see available shifts. Since then, this "employment" only got more and more confusing. I consistently asked the contact which shifts were available and all I was told was, the available shifts are the ones with an officers name. That made zero sense and I never received an answer. Each time I texted and asked if a secondary shift was available, I would get "no". I called "scheduling" on one occasion and was told "they might have lied to you" about shift availability. This was extremely unprofessional and made me wonder why a company like his would have a kid answering phones and telling police officers they might be being lied to. I began to voice concerns and when I reached out to the employee that assisted me in the "hiring process", I was told she could not help me and I needed to speak to the law enforcement liaison that works scheduling. After that led nowhere, I went to look at scheduling and saw I no longer had access. Then...I received an email for an exit interview questionnaire, as if my employment was terminated.
I called Human Resources who advised me to give the law to contact until the following week and he should call me. He never reached out. I waited an additional week and called Human Resources again, left a message, and still have heard nothing.
I was hired, never communicated with, spent my time to get the security license I needed, attempted to work, potentially was lied to, never was able to work, then received an exit interview email.
being let go/removed
On 09/7/19 I called my CSM (Jason Ortiz) 2 complaints bout my supervisors (Diaz & Smithd) saying things 2 me or taking 2 write my up bout an government employee they feel I'm 2 close 2 in 233 n. Michigan n he inform me that I'm being removed from the building cuz that image don't look right. Now remind u I worked for Whelan since 11/05/17 @ the site. Always had a 40+ shift, with no call off til recent, the fewest write up (bout 3-4), n the only trained STO @ the time I was let go. I don't feel is right cuz it's a lot of double standard going on first of all Diaz meet his wife there. And supervisors Jacrob have his daughter working @ the same site as him. Diaz always late 4 work in the morning, he arrive after 8a when work starts @ 7. When we late we get wrote up but supervisors get away with whatever. Don't No supervisors do what they suppose 2 do but sit in that office. That's why I'll like 2 know why I'm waiting on work when I did nothing wrong but honor my Core Values (Loyalty, True telling, etc). I been out of work 4 almost a month without an reasonable expression.
Thank u,
Clarice Woods

management of whelan security-milwaukee (hwy 100)
Recently I applied for a supervisor position with Whelan security Milwaukee. At the interview, i was told by the hiring manager that all supervisor positions were filled so i was asked if i would settle for a regular guard position, and I accepted. I finished the rest of the interview process, and never heard back from Miller Coors or the Hiring manager. I called the office to check the status of my application, and the manager answered and said he would call back later that day and talk, eventually it got late and i called back again that friday, and the hiring manager assured me he'd call back on Monday and continue the hiring process, so far its been a week and a few days, and no call. Also whelan security has posted multiple jobs openings for supervisor, after i was told there were absolutely no positions available. This process of hiring is childish and unprofessional. If the company does not one a certain candidate, they need to inform the applicant of their decision. People have to make money, and waiting around on an empty promise from a "Professional security company" can affect that. I ask that you talk with the staff and let them know, that if they decide to refuse an applicant, to inform that person directly instead of string them along.

the company is a joke
Whelan is a joke! They do not take care of their employees whatsoever. We have to supply everything we need to work our posts. Office supplies, microwave, refridgerator, heaters, and even the chairs we sit in! It's pathetic.! Your employees should not have to come out of their own pocket to work your posts! The pay is rediculous! The only way it's worth working for them is when we are short handed and getting overtime that they quickly try their hardest to keep from happening. I pissed corporate off because I came up with a better schedule than their crappy one that accually accomodates every employee when we are full staffed. 8 people on two 8's and two 12's then the usual part time 9th person with two 8's. Which I think is the least we deserve given the circumstances. We should be able to actually enjoy our work schedule and they continue to try and fight us on that and keep us on five 8's. Saying it's better for covering a shift... Ummmm no newsflash everyone being happy with their schedule and having 3 days off prevents even needing a shift covered because no one would call in unless for emergency, and if they did someone would gladly give up one of their 3 days off to cover it and get overtime. The HR lady's disposition is absolutely unacceptable! She should have never been given that position with her personality and shes over multiple states it's rediculous! I've been with the company for a little over 3 years now but not by choice. The company i originally worked for lost their contract bid to Whelan and they took over. They are just a terrible company to work for it's sad for as big of a company as they are pretty sure they can afford to supply the neccessary items to their employees and to pay better or better yet just set them at 42 hours a week 3 12's and a 6. They'd have less turn over rate.
Clock in
My complaint is that some employee can on a daily basis clock in at 5 to 7 minutes after start of shift and nothing is ever said. Her comment is as long as i clock in by 7 minutes after I'm not late. Well what about the person being relieved who has to work over 7 minutes for free. This is not occasionally it is every shift she works. She only works 6 till 2 Monday through Friday . The account manager and assistance manager know this but do nothing.
Pay rate
This company is family owned horrible place to work. Offering post that they are paying them 30.00 to officers for only 7.50 to 10.25. Management is a bunch of uneducated ----------. You bring an issue to them and because they want to put their own religious beliefs and personal feelings into a business decision.BS! This explains high turn over rate. They don't fire employees for true infractions if they are buddies with supervisor. The in house training offered is a horrible online and most outdated hard to follow.
Does it really take a month to get paid???
I'm starting to feel like Milton Waddams from Office Space here, I STILL have not been paid by Whelan Security for working the Vikings game on Dec 30th. I've been patient, I've been accommodating, I've been understanding, but now I feel that either I'm being LIED to or this company has an incompetent payroll department. I was told that the checks would be...

One of the worse security companies to work for. False promises, no accountability, horrible leadership from the Austin. I will try to keep it short, it's a mikey mouse operation with the blind trying to lead. Payroll is all screwed up. Since when does it take a month to pay someone? Since when do they not withhold taxes for you. Since when do they overdraw...
