It's just a reap off, customer service has very bad attitude, you end up paying more than triple the value of the item you lease. I did it once and when i tried to buy out the furniture it was as if i was just going to the store and i had to pay almost full price (I had already made all my payments) i end it up paying $1000 for a $500 piece of furniture. Never again! Beware of why not lease it!

We purchased a refrigerator from them. The price was $1, 168 and paid $268 down and payments of $286.00 since April and the buyout was another $880 dollars. I am having so much difficulty right now financially. My daughter and grandson live with my husband and I. She is legally blind and just recently lost her vision in one eye because of retinology and detached retina. And had surgery on the other eye Monday because of diabetes. Her Dr. States she will eventually blind. No erw she has to have surgery again on the other eye. I a n supporting her and my grandson as she is now disabled. My husband and I are her caretakers and have to drive her to her Drs. Appointments. Cook, do laundry, and other necessities and care for my grandson, who is 14. The point I'm trying to make is this, I've paid $1, 430 plus another $838 but have one more paymeet to go. The total will be $2, 310 for a refrigerator that was $1, 168. Another thing, their appliances are not all new. They are also used, returned or reprocessed . . I figured that out because alot of them had a food odor. I asked the salesman and his response was that they are all new. I believe it's against the law, and I know it's certainly against the HEALTH DEPARTMENT. They ripped me off for money I need to pay my bills, help my blind daughter and grandson and myself who has congestive heart failure and stage 2 renal disease. They sent me an email for my last payment and I emailed them stating I don't have the money that I will pay them next month and explained my circumstances. We will have a Christmas Tree but certainly nothing underneath it.

This is the worst company ever tried to do business with I bought $350 bed and I am paying $720 in 5 months this is I think company like this need to be out of business it was telling me that I can buy my product by in 30 60 or 90 days with 15% on top of the price and that was a lie . I also went to buy a TV and return and my balance was $40 dollar so i pay it off 3 months laters they call me sayn the i have to stand up balance because I'm never pay out that and I have to fax my bank statement showing them that I did paid out i dont think is fair. Then I have to get out of work use my time to go get my bank statement back then fax it then for them to remove the charges. And i still waiting for then to remove the charge next time if I dont have the money on my simple i wont buy it they are a really bad company.

This is such a rip off. I am so mad that the store saleswomen did not explain the program to me. I was misled just so she could make her commission sales. I was told it was a rent to own program and was under the impression that after I had made all the payments I would own it. The value of the refrigerator is about $800.00 to $900.00. I find out now that after the payments are done I will have to "buy it out", turn it in for no refund or continue to pay the crooks.
The buy out price is almost as much as the original product price. Also the women didn't tell me until the end that I also had to pay nearly $300.00 for a merchandise warranty that I did not even want. Never again will I use this program. I would love to call the BBB. penniless in Colorado

I thought that I was making payments on a camera that I was going to own. The price of the camera was $350.00. I wound up paying $499.99 before I found out that I was leasing this item instead of paying it off. You do not need to purchase anything from Sears or Kmart. They are both in with Why Not Lease to rip you off. I am waiting on someone to come and pick this camera up because, they want me to pay another $399.00 on a camera that I have already over paid for. I cannot believe that I was so stupid. Scams are out there everywhere. This place is like Rent-A-Center. Stay far away from it. I will not shop at Sears or Kmart again. I did not have the money to pay for a new camera. I thought that this was a way that I could get a decent camera without having to come up $350.00 all at once. If you think that, "Why Not Lease It" is layaway, think again. It is not a layaway. It is a lease plan where you will not own the items that you are paying own. Read all of the fine print that they give you at the store. If you look closely, you will see that they tack payments on after you are scheduled to finish your lease plan. Then, you are told that you can purchase the item that you are leasing for the original store price of the item. This is a sad way to do business.

I am paying on 3acc. With wnli they had 2of my bank accounts were on file I went on my account and removed the one I wasn't using with them I went to look at this bank account and notice that they took the payment from the card that wasn't to be used because I removed it a wk before this payment was due I would like to know how they can do stuff like that and get away with it .I spoked with them and asked how can they take money out of acc that wasn't on file he told me that it was on file and I told him that it was removed on 1/8/16 and new bank info was on there I told him that it was my daughter rent money that they took he told me that they couldn't give it back to me because I was a couple of payments behind and I told him that they didn't even have permission to take from that account so I went to my bank I have to go back today and make a fraud report against them and I tell you one thing they won't be getting anymore money this like 3 or 4 x they have over drafted my bank

Borrower beware. Unfortunately, if you don't read the fine print (if you can find it), you will pay much more than you'd ever imagine for what you bought initially. In my case, I bought a $150 bike for my daughter and few small appliances ($205 total) and thought wow, I can pay $19.91 payments for 5 or so months and have it paid off. Great deal right?! Wrong. It turns out that you are "leasing" it and after you pay the lease payments you have to buy out your lease. Here is where they get you. They use a formula to determine the present value of what you have. In my case the total cost of the leased items was around $205. I paid nine payments of $19.91 ( $179.19 total) and then had to buy the lease out for $170.05. So it cost me $144 more than if I had just bought the items outright at the store. Never again will I fall for it. But it only gets better...per their terms, if you don't call them to buy it out or return the items, they can charge you up to 36 lease installments and you still have to buy it out. If it sounds to good to be true...

DO NOT USE this company if you value your hard earned money! They are much, much worse than Rent a Center. They steal your money and charge 4x the normal amount. Absolutely worst company I've ever been financed through. I will never, never, never use this company again and will steer all family & friends away from them!

Never Again in North Carolina!
I purchased a futon and some ottomans at K-Mart that cost about $305.00. I looked at my lease today and released I have paid $381.00. If I continue to pay the lease off I will have paid $915.00, THAT IS OUTRAGEOUS! I called Why Not Lease It and they said to pay the lease off I had to pay ANOTHER $161.00, making the payoff $542.00. IT IS A COMPLETE RIP OFF! I called my bank and for a fee they stopped payment on all future payments from coming out of my account. I will NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN! THEY ARE VERY DISHONEST! I hope K-mart realizes this and quits using them!

We used this to buy a `$1000.00 refrigerator. We paid on it for months, I was under the assumption that out 'lease" was over in February. Once February hit and they still charged my account I called to see what was going on. They informed me that If I had called them after 5 months they would of then started taking out the 3 lump sums and the refrigerator would of then been paid off and was ours. The CS lady was very nice, and also said they are having major issues with the sales reps at the stores explaining this to people the correct way. BUT if I would of read the contract in full I would of known about all this myself. Also when I did try to find out more info the website was always down and only showed minimal information. The rep said they also had issue with that as well. In the end it would not of been such a horrible experience is I would of read the contact I guess, although I had no contract to read after we made the purchase except a receipt that was so faded no one could read the bottom portion. Lesson learned.

I leased to own a washer and dryer set at an appliance smart store in Columbus, OH. In the store it was advertised $ 900.
This company ended up charging me $ 2500 for $900 product. This is the worse company I've ever dealt with.

Do NOT use this service. The interest rate is so High. I used $450.00 after my fifth month of payments the buy out is still $350.00. If I was to go the whole 18 months I would end paying triple $1472.00. I may have misunderstood but this is unbelievable. Some may say it is the same as rent to own, but it is not. I will NEVER use this again! I would have also used Layaway!

I am not a fan of WNLI. I purchased a fridge with every intention of paying it off. Unfortunately circumstances arose that required medical surgery and left me unemployed. I contacted them (not having missed a payment yet) and advised that I would need to return the fridge doe to the situation. The representative was extremely rude and refused to do anything to work with me advising I needed to pay 300 and something dollars on my account before I could return it. I requested that they bill me for that but still allow me to return it immediately. He was again adamant that he would not allow it to be returned. I did not have the 300 as I just made a payment to them and had other bills that I paid as well. I asked to speak with a supervisor who never actually came to the phone. You could hear the line picked up and then disconnected. They did not bother to call me back and I made three separate attempts to do this all with the same outcome. So this fridge, is now sitting in storage unused and they have not gotten any money as I closed my account. I guess going forward they will learn to work with people. I see no reason they could not pick up the fridge and continue to bill my account weekly for the balance of 300. The fact that they had no desire to work with me in a situation well out of my control, I had no idea 4 months earlier that open heart surgery was going to be required, speaks volumes to the level of service that they provide. In comparison I had one other company that I leased furniture in a similar manner and they were more than compassionate and went above and beyond to understand. That company I will use again. This one - they can show up at my door and get the fridge i dont use it - I will never pay them another dime

This is the biggest Rip off ever, and I do know it was going to cost me more in the long run to go through this program so I decided to take the buy out so that it would not cost me any more I had two accounts with WHY NOT LEASE IT. One I bought out in Aug 2015 and the other in Dec 2015 Every thing was paid in full. And then on April 19th 2016 several months after they went into my checking account and took a payment out when I called them about it they said they saw where the mistake was and that I would receive a full refund in 7 to 10 business days so to day may 13th 2016 I called them again and they tell me that the refund was denied. that is theft, so be careful they have your bank account and can do the same to you

Be very weary of this WHY NOT LEASE IT.

I purchased a couch at a Sears Outlet Store for a good price I thought. I didn't have the full amount so they offered me the Why Not Lease it program. I put a down payment on it of 147.82 and delivery was schedule in a few days. The couch was too big to fit through my door so the delivery returned to warehouse. I called Why not lease it and let them know that I needed them to issue a refund 3/29/16 . I still haven't received it after many attempts of contacting them . Each time I talked to a customer Rep they said they had mailed it to me and then they have a different address each time. I finally contacted my bank and they will now pursue the refund. I contacted Sears Corporate to issue a complaint and to help resolve this and they told me that they couldn't that it wasn't part of Sears even though on the receipt Sears is listed and when I called Why not Lease it they said thank you for choosing Sears. Do not trust Sears now and this company, No wonder there are not many Sears stores left if they affiliate themselves with companies like Why not Lease it. Scammers and Crooks.

I recently used this service, and will never again. I don't really have a complaint so much about price I paid. It's a typical rent to own contract. People should know that going in. My complaint is that we purchased a mattress with it. After our 5th payment we got a payoff am out of 386.00. We scheduled a payment for that amount. When they debited my account it was over 100 more than what was supposed to be owed. Then to make things worse, less than a week later, after the lease was paid off, they debited my my account the original payment of 117. In all they overcharged my account 220 dollars. When speaking with customer service, we were told we had to wait 7 to 10 days for that money to be returned to us. This company is a joke. Do not use it.

Thia company (why not lease it) called my ex roomate last week and preceeded to tell him off because I was late on my payments. Payments which I would have been paying had they been honest about the pay schedule, how much I was to pay, and buyout option. This company is the worst ran company I have ever saw. I quit shopping at Sears and Kmart due to the treatment I received through wnli. People if you are thinking about using the service please rethink it. I'd much rather have went without than to have them take money out of my account when ever they choose to, or have anyone who answers my phone told off and let in on my personal business. I had to call them twice in one day with questions. The first call connected me with a VERY RUDE AND NASTY AND ### CUSTOMER SVC AGENT #12366. She was absolutely the worst! I wouldn't hire her to pick up dog poop! She acted like she owned the company, she kept interrupting me and was always saying "I've been trying to tell you, , it's what I already said, I said it before." Very very condescending. Very nasty...and kept changing her answer. It took me a few minutes to get her to actually HEAR me! I wouldn't wish that WITCH on anyone. She has no interest in resolving anything and only wants to be right. She was so busy lecturing me on what I had done wrong with my payments that it took about 10 mins for her to actually hear my question. She was VERY VERY hostile, from the get-go. Nasty. I told her before I hung up that she should be nicer to customers.

My second phone call yielded a completely OPPOSITE experience. The man I talked to (forgot to note his ID#) was professional, clear and very easy to speak with. He was able to give info without acting all resentful.

Personally, I won't use this company again. The clear at SEARS had a hard time getting this set up, he told me payment dates and sequences that didn't come to be.

Whatever you want to buy...wait! Pay for it or use another method. This company is just not good nor do they seem to care about it.

SO I WILL JUST TELL YOU GUYS MY EXPERIENCE AND YOU BE THE JUDGE... SMH! I had been pay over $200 a month for furniture that cost $100 for over a year. I went in my account one month after I realized money was short only to find that Tempoe had debited my payment plus 3 transactions totaling $300. When I called a rep told me to fax in my bank statemement and they could reimburse me and so I did. When I called back, no one knew where my bank statement was and so I faxed again and then called and spoke to a supervisor. He was rude and hung up on me ending with " I'll see what I can do, goodbye". He then called me back and I said " why should I have to prove you've debited this info when clearly you said you did by accident" Long story short I had to get crazy in order for them to give me my money back! Then they call to tell me they confused my account with some else? After this happened, I then began looking at my lease and payment history and noticed that I had already paid almost 2500 for $1000 furniture and when I called a rep tells me "oh you've only been paying towards the principal of the lease, if you wanted to buy it out, you would have had to call in and do the buy out program which according to your balance is $649 more, but we can break it into 3 payments for and then you'll own the furniture". Now I have never heard this in my life! So today 7/5/2016, my last payment of the $649 was 6/30/16. So I call them to ask for proof that my acct is closed, paid in full and that I am no3w the owner. They tell me, "we can't send you anything, the acct has to be closed for 30 days. After 30 days, call us back and we can send something." So I said, "you're not going to send anything, and the rep's repression was, nope." So I pay $3000 for a 1000 set and you wont even send me proof that I own it?!?!?!?!? NEVER AGAIN!

listen.. inform yourself before you just go sign something and make Payments... They outline it for you.. It says if you continue to make payments on the schedule you are going to pay just like you would if you went to rent a center or aarons... If you dont want to pay more.. You pay it off in 90 days and you only pay a small fee. Don't blame the company because you did not read and or ask questions about how the program works.. I am happy they have the program i just bought a patio set a fire pit and a smoker.. ill pay 48.21 every two weeks when my 90 days is over.. i will pay it off.. not continue to make payments because if i do im going to pay 800.29 for a 578.52 purchase..

In 2014 I started my first lease with this company and have since started and completed 8 leases. I have made all of my automatic payments on time and have bought out all of my leases. Now I just want to be clear that my complaint isn't that I paid more than the original cost for the items as I had an understanding of how that worked when I started the program but it was the solution I had at the time and I didn't mind paying all that extra for the convenience. I recently paid off yet another lease with the company and was told go ahead and apply for another one and we'll get you set up. So I go through the steps and apply for another lease and I get denied. When I called to ask why that happened I was told "I don't know I don't have that information" by the customer service representative. Well of course that made me scratch my head and say well if you don't know then who does? And I was then informed that no one knows the answer to that question because all of the decisions about lease approvals are now done by a computer system. A series of 1's and 0's decides now whether or not you get approved for a new lease. I've completed 8 leases never had a late payment and bought out every single one and I get denied!?

Secondly when you call customer service everyone has a bad attitude, which should give us all a good indication of how the company is as an employer. If the employees hate being there so much that they treat the customers that poorly the problems must run throughout the company. I was told today by a customer service representative that I could try again in 30 days for a new lease and I asked her what would be different between now and a month from now as I don't currently owe them any money and am employed and those things will be the same in 30 days. The most frustrating part is that no one has any answers and they hide behind this scripted message that they're sorry that they can't do anything because it's all done by computer and that they have no ability to override it. It is disappointing to know that a company that you believed in and invested so much money into has no regard for their customers what so ever. I hope Why Not Lease It reconsiders their business practices and I hope that they try harder going forward to provide high level customer service to their customers or I fear they will lose more customers than just my husband and I.

I completely knew what I was getting myself into when I did my lease. At the end of the five months, I set up my buyout payment. The payment came out as expected and I was happy. Until they charged me for my monthly lease payment again, after the buyout was completed. I called and spoke to the rude agent that said basically it is my problem and it will take the 7-10 days to decide if they will refund me my money. I of course become irate because now I will have many things returned NSF because of their error and also have many NSF fees. When I explained this to the customer services rep. I was told that is between me and my bank and not their problem!

Why not lease it program is a rip off. I would advise anyone to never lease anything through k-mart. I have never had to pay for something so long that is not even worth it. You can't even get it fixed when something physical happens to it. If I had known this would have been such a problem, I would have bought my products from Wal-Mart. Next time I will. No wonder Wal-Mart gets all of the business. I am just so disappointed in this lease it program. You think you are getting a deal but you are not. I am a single parent trying to do the best I can by my children. I cant afford any extra expenses. This program needs to be looked into and taken down because it is more trouble than its worth. So sorry I got into this program. The money I have wasted in these electronics was not worth it especially when they keep freezing up. I hope the justice system looks into this program and justice is done. The money needs to be returned to hardworking people. I think GOD will work a miracle in this situation. I will never shop at K-Mart again and I will advise anyone I know to never lease or buy anything from this company again. STAY ALERT! PLEASE DON'T BE TAKEN IN BY K-MART or the LEASE IT PROGRAM!

They also told me that the last payment came out on the 6th of July. I asked then why is it showing that$135 was taken out if the stuff was paid off!

Absolute criminals and they should be prosecuted! I was just informed that I could've bought my account out months ago. I have now paid $824 for an item that cost $510 and they informed me that if I buy out today that I'll still owe $287! Also, they took the payment out today which wasn't do until tomorrow and all they could say was sorry! Yes, they are very sorry and if someone needs a reason as to WHY NOT TO LEASE IT, I have a million reasons why not to! What a total scam!

I have a problem with them also they say they record there phone calls and tell me one thing and when they talk to me again I tell them what we discussed on the last call and they say it's not recorded in there records .I told them well you need to check the recorded conversation and they say they will do that and get back with me. I get another call the day they say they would call me back after checking the recorded conversations and they don't say anything about checking a recorded conversation it's not in the records that anyone is supposed to check .The place is crooked and a legal scam and it's pretty crazy. I figured since Kmart and Sears are pretty good companies they wouldn't work with a bunch of con artists. I wouldn't believe they charged you 1000 for 500 dollars until I actually am doing basically the same thing and they lie and are rude as ever. I know if they treated me like that in person they wouldn't be standing on there feet !
