Great service, attitude, and problem resolution. They did a test on the hot water lines and water heater. They also gave us advice on how to fix the external faucet problem and even fixed some leaks in the faucets without charging us extra. They were really honest, friendly, and professional. We will definitely use them again!
I had the same issue as the complaint on 2/17
I had the same issue as the complaint on 2/17. American home shield sent my claim for a leaky hot water heater to Wicker Plumber, who said I would have to pay $900 for modifications. It's just like the complaint from 2/17. They wanted to charge me $300 to replace the drip pan and its pvc connection. The pan only costs $25 and the pvc is maybe $5. There's also a complaint from 6/3 where the salesman tried to convince an older couple that the whole heater needed to be replaced for $1,200, but it turned out to be just 2 faulty valves.
On 6/3, I put in a request with American Home Shield for a water heater at my house that was leaking
On 6/3, I put in a request with American Home Shield for a water heater at my house that was leaking. They assigned Wicker Installation as the contractor and said they would contact me within the next business day to schedule service. On 6/4, I hadn't heard from the contractor, so I reached out to them myself to find out when the technician could come. They said a technician could come on 6/7, and I asked if there was any sooner availability. The rep then said a technician could come on 6/5. I wasn't home when the technician arrived, only my elderly mom and dad were. My mom called me and said the technician was there, so I asked to speak with him. He told me the water heater needed to be replaced, but he couldn't do it because it was under warranty. Then he said he could replace it, but it would cost about $1200. I was confused by the information, so I asked him to clarify the problem. He then told me the inside of the water heater was bad and repeated that he could replace it for $1200. (He never mentioned anything about the foundation, like the diagnoses report he sent to American Home Shield stated). I told him I would wait and contact American Home Shield. He said okay and that if I wanted it replaced, I should give him a call. I thought he left everything as it was since he said he couldn't fix it. The next day, on 6/6, my mom called me and asked when the hot water would be back on. This surprised me because I didn't know the hot water was off. She told me the technician had turned off the hot water before he left the previous day. I told her to ask my dad to turn it back on, but she said he tried and couldn't get it back on. At this point, my parents had been without hot water for almost 3 days, and I was at home with my 18-month-old baby, so I decided to take matters into my own hands and call a local plumber. The local plumber came the next morning, took a look, and immediately diagnosed the problem. He said it was a bad drain valve and a bad gas valve. I told him that the plumber who came on Saturday said the entire water heater needed to be replaced. He said he didn't see any reason why the entire water heater needed to be replaced. At this point, I was pretty upset because I felt like the technician from Wicker Installation tried to take advantage of me by saying my whole water heater needed to be replaced and was going to charge me $1200 for it.
My warranty company, Shield, assigned Wicker Installation to me on Saturday 3/13
My warranty company, Shield, assigned Wicker Installation to me on Saturday 3/13. The following Monday, they detected a small leak in the drainage pipe within the kitchen island wall. After recording the issue, they informed me of the need to discuss potential uncovered costs with Shield. Despite my daily follow-ups, Wicker Installation only reported the leak to Shield on Thursday, claiming it was due to soil movement, which seems incorrect. Now, I await a second opinion from another contractor arranged by Shield.

The guy from Wicker Plumbing said my water heater got messed up from freezing on April 19th and told the warranty company about it
The guy from Wicker Plumbing said my water heater got messed up from freezing on April 19th and told the warranty company about it. But guess what? The warranty doesn't cover freezing damage. And get this, there haven't even been any freezing temperatures in DFW since February 20th. So, I've been trying to get in touch with the company to sort out this mistake, but they haven't bothered to return any of my calls.
Here's the real deal: I've had a leak in the supply line going to the heater for a while now, and it definitely wasn't because of freezing. I even tried replacing a valve on April 5th to stop the leak, but there's still a pesky drip coming from the union fitting.
Wicker Installation came to our house for a hot water heater service request from American Home Shield warranty company
Wicker Installation came to our house for a hot water heater service request from American Home Shield warranty company. They quickly checked our leaky water heater and said we needed a new one. The technician said they would handle it with the warranty company. But when the warranty company got the work order, they told us to contact them. So, we did, and they said Wicker Installation added over $900 in "modifications/fees" to the work order. They said we had to pay these fees to get the replacement heater covered by our warranty. The warranty company couldn't figure out what the fees were for and told us to talk to the technician directly. When my husband called, they said only a manager could discuss the fees. Finally, the manager called and said it was a regular heater install with no need for modifications or extra work. He said they put the fees on the order because the warranty company told them to, and they don't make much money from these jobs. But he couldn't explain what the fees were for exactly. The warranty company denies this and didn't help us resolve the issue. Because of this suspicious work order, we couldn't use our warranty for the replacement and had to pay another company for it. The new plumbing company confirmed that we only needed a simple install with no extra fees. I'm filing a complaint with the ComplaintsBoard.com against both Wicker Installation and our warranty company. I think they both acted carelessly and possibly dishonestly.

I had Wicker Installation assigned to me by my warranty company Shield on Saturday 3/13. Wicker Installation came to my house the following Monday 3/15. They found a very small leak in the drainage pipe right under the sink inside the kitchen island wall. They made a video, showed it to me and said they will submit the info to Shield because they will need to make a bigger hole in the wall and some things like replacement of the plywood in the wall might not be covered by the warranty, so Shield will first need to agree with me on the cost of the repairs if something is not covered. Again all these happened on Monday 3/15. Since Monday I had been calling Wicker Installation every day asking them to submit all info to Shield as soon as possible. Only on Thursday 3/18 they finally submitted something to Shield saying that I have a leak due to soil/foundation movement which is a complete nonsense. So now I have to wait for a different contractor visit to my house assigned by Shield for the second opinion check.
