Wix Review: The User-Friendly Website Builder You Need to Try
So, I've been around the block when it comes to website building. I've tried everything from Quick N Easy Web-builder to Squarespace, and let me tell you, they were all a pain in the neck. But then I stumbled upon Wix, and I was hesitant at first because of all the negative reviews I saw. But after reading through them, I realized that a lot of people just didn't understand the basics of website building.
Let me break it down for you newbies out there: you need a domain name provider to buy your website address (like Go Daddy), a hosting company to give you space on the internet (like Wix), and a program to actually build your website. It's like building a car - you need a chassis, an engine, and wheels. Got it?
Now, let me tell you about Wix's editor. It's seriously amazing. Compared to the competition, it's a breeze to use. You won't spend hours trying to figure out how to add a picture or resize text. It's the most user-friendly interface I've ever come across.
And for those of you worried about SEO, don't waste your money on paid services. Just buy a copy of 'SEO for Dummies' and follow the steps. It's not rocket science, folks.
Sorry for rambling on, but I hope this helps someone out there. Thanks for reading!
Wix.com Review: Stunning Templates, Easy Customization, and Top-Notch Customer Support!
I just gotta say, Wix.com is the real deal when it comes to building your own website. I ain't no tech whiz, but with Wix.com, I was able to create a website that looks like it was made by a pro!
The first thing that caught my eye was the templates. They got some seriously stunning visuals that'll make your website look like a million bucks. And the best part? You don't gotta be a designer to make it look good. Just pick a template that speaks to you and you're good to go.
But what really sets Wix.com apart is how easy it is to customize your website. You can change the colors, fonts, and layout to make it look exactly how you want it. And the drag-and-drop feature? Genius. I was able to move things around and make changes without any headaches.
And get this, they even got an online store feature! I was able to set up my own shop and start selling my stuff in no time. It was so easy, I couldn't believe it. And the best part? I didn't need to know any fancy coding or anything like that. Wix.com made it simple and straightforward.
But what really blew me away was the customer support. Whenever I had a question or ran into a problem, their team was right there to help me out. They were super knowledgeable and friendly, and they made sure I was able to get my website up and running smoothly.
Overall, I gotta say, Wix.com is the real deal. If you're looking to create your own website, this is the way to go. The templates are gorgeous, the customization is easy, the online store feature is a game-changer, and the customer support is top-notch. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.
Bumpy Ride with Wix POS System: Endless Issues and Poor Customer Service
We're one of the top dogs when it comes to using Wix's POS system, or so we were told by Amanda T, the Wix rep we spoke with. But let me tell you, it's been a bumpy ride. We only use the system half the time they track it because the other half is spent trying to troubleshoot the endless issues it has. And let me tell you, there are a lot of issues.
First off, the app continually crashes. It'll shut off mid-use, leaving you high and dry. And if it's not crashing, it'll stop working altogether. It'll stay stuck on the loading page, and you'll have to reset mid-transaction. And don't even get me started on how often we have to re-swipe customers' credit cards just to get it to work once, if ever.
This system is too new and still has a lot of kinks to work out. The development team was very defensive on the issues and pressed to continue to troubleshoot. But here's the thing, I'm not a guinea pig or beta tester, and neither is my business. We need to provide the best service using the proper tools we paid for. The supervisor we spoke with, along with others along the long trail of representatives I spoke with, were adamant they would not refund our money. We had this system for six months, and every single one of those months we had issues.
And if your system goes down, there's no one to troubleshoot outside of business hours. So if you need help fixing an issue, you're on your own.
Let's talk about the card readers. I received two micro-USB connections that have a much shorter lifespan than regular USB or USB-C. Only one of them ever worked, and even then, it only worked half the time. And don't be fooled by the wireless card reader advertisement. If you don't keep it charged, the transactions fail. The system comes with a cradle for the card reader, but that stopped working on us as well. And there's no refund for that either. Luckily, you can directly plug the card reader into the back of the POS system or tablet. But here's the kicker, the development team blundered this one and made it so you won't get enough of a charge to actually keep the card reader charged. And that's a huge part of accepting payments. You have to find a separate outlet for the card reader. It's just a laundry list of issues.
I added some photos of really disgruntled employees/managers trying to use the POS. And the directions specifically stated to plug the card reader cradle into the tablet, something they DO NOT want you to do.
All Wix had to do was refund my money for the POS system. I have three other premium business accounts on their platform, but that's as of the time I wrote this. Sad, just sad.
Save yourself the $850 dollars and go with someone else. If you're using Wix already, Square and Stripe are compatible.
Wix.com: A Company That Demands Respect But Gives None in Return
Wix.com is the worst company ever! They closed my account without even bothering to call me and ask for my new card information. The managers and supervisors are so rude! They said they sent me countless emails, and it's true. However, it's never just important emails, it's countless spam emails that have nothing to do with my account. After several a week, I just stopped looking at my emails involving them period. I spammed their emails, of course, I didn't want them, so not knowing that the important ones went with them. Whose fault is that? Mine or theirs?
They demand respect, however, have no respect for me. Did I link my email address with them for the purpose of being spammed? Did they ask me for permission to send me crap countless times a week? No! Yet when I lost my wallet and forgot to link up my new card, they are still expecting me to check my email. What a joke!
Now they use the excuse that they don't have enough people, or have way too many clients that they can't afford to call each one to maintain a relationship with them, when in fact they are the ones messing up to start with. Don't demand respect from your clients when you can't afford to give them any at all. We shouldn't have to click on the spam button when you should have enough respect not to send us endless irritating emails to a business email. We have other clients we need to focus on, and sifting through your $#*! isn't on our list of things to do.
Another excuse used is that we have an option to filter what they send us. We don't work for you, yet they make us do so! How is that respect? We shouldn't have to worry about you taking advantage of our kindness in such a way. A-Holes!
For three months, my account has been down, and you would think I would have gotten a call? Nope! Well, sir, we don't offer those services, however, threatening you is one they offer! Or telling you well, you have other options and can go elsewhere! I think we should! I think you should tell all your long-term clients who have kept you in business to go somewhere else! Four Fuking years of business with them, and I'm not owed an ounce of respect.
In fact, the manager was rude, demanding, sarcastic, would not stop interrupting, and kept trying to lead the conversation to what he wanted it to be. Him and his fake apologies, meanwhile being no better than his other employees.
If we aren't worth the time to get a call to let us know there is something wrong with our accounts, then we all should be telling wix.com to kiss our [censored]!
Wix Review: Unethical Business Practices and Hostage Domain Situation
Wix is a website builder that has been causing a lot of trouble for its customers. They have been accused of using illegal business practices to hold their services hostage from their customers. Wix has been known to not honor their own business contract with their customers. They charge double for domains by holding your own domain hostage unless you give them more money. This is not a good way to do business.
When I tried Wix to build a website, I found that they did not inform me of the steps to buy and connect my individual domain to the website I spent hours building. They showed me the option of buying a domain or buying a premium plan, but they did not mention that connecting each mailbox using Wix can cost an arm and a leg. I chose to buy a domain for a $24 yearly fee, where I had to pay $10 per year extra to make it private by Wix. This was not a good start to my experience with Wix.
In order to connect my domain to my Wix website, I had to buy a premium plan from Wix. The premium plan prices shown on Wix are misleading. You have to pay upfront the whole amount for a year because the monthly costs are way higher than advertised. I went ahead and bought a premium business plan for $324 for a yearly price, that would renew for $324 next year. This was an expensive contract that stated that I had a free Wix voucher for a domain. I asked Wix to refund me the domain amount I paid one day ago and they declined. Wix told me the domain voucher is only for a domain purchased after the premium plan purchase. This was not clear and honest upfront when I was trying their product.
I submitted a request for a refund of the domain, which was approved. But Wix still won't let me have it with the domain voucher that came with the business premium plan I purchased. I contacted customer support and two associates from Wix individually told me that Wix still owns my domain and if I want to have it, I would have to pay $24 through some shady Wix's PayPal account to lift the domain from suspension. Even though I had already created several social media pages and bought one mailbox for $6.50 per month from Wix, I decided to go with another company that had much better pricing plans and ethics of conducting a transparent business.
I chose to get a refund for my business plan from Wix during the trial period because Wix showed its true colors within the trial period itself. How this company treats customers early on during the trial period shows how badly it will treat them for maintaining years of trust with their businesses. For reference, my Wix invoice number was #*** and the domain they have held hostage is www.idatatruth.com. Even when I am going to a different company, Wix won't release it, despite having approved my refund for the domain. This is not a good way to do business and I would not recommend Wix to anyone.
Wix Review: Shady Business Practices, Limited Storage, and No Transfer Options
I am writing this review to share my experience with Wix, and let me tell you, it was not a good one. I have been using their website builder for EIGHT years to build two professional websites, and I have slowly uploaded media to my sites during that time. However, a few days ago, I tried to upload a PDF file to one of my sites and received an error message that I had exceeded my media storage by 2 GB. How could a single PDF file send my storage over the limit by 2 GB? It couldn't. Wix had cleverly knocked my storage limit all the way down to 500 MB without any warning or notification.
I was shocked and angry. I had carefully organized and designed 2.5 GB worth of media on my website, and now they were telling me that I had to pay a minimum of $200 for EACH of my websites PER YEAR just to keep them going. This was absolutely ridiculous! I had been loyal to Wix for eight years, and now they were suddenly limiting the amount of media I could upload and forcing me to pay a hefty fee to keep my websites running.
I decided that I would never use Wix again. I wanted their logo and their name off my social media profiles and website as fast as possible. So, I started copying my hundreds of blog posts from my blog site to another website builder, but Wix wouldn't let me copy more than 20 blogs total. They knew that people would leave their platform, and they didn't want to let them take their business elsewhere.
Wix stole my blogs and designs by not letting me transfer them to a new website builder. I wrote them, formatted them, and designed them, but they wouldn't let me have MY blogs. It was frustrating and disappointing.
Furthermore, every time I encountered a problem with their website builder (which was very often), it was near impossible to find a number to contact customer service via phone. They knew that they would be constantly flooded with an overwhelming amount of calls about their shady business model and sorry excuse for a clean website builder.
I am disgusted with whatever greedy, selfish leader made the decision to throttle my storage on a whim and then limit my ability to transfer my business elsewhere. It is sick and twisted. I could not be more turned off from ever using this company again.
In conclusion, I would strongly advise against using Wix. Their website builder has been janky, slow, and finicky from the start. They are dirty, scheming, lying, sneaky, and awful! I hope this review spreads like wildfire and convinces you to never use Wix as long as you live. Tell all your friends and colleagues!
Disappointing Customer Service Experience with WIX: Lost Blog Post and Unhelpful Support
I recently had a very frustrating experience with WIX. I was in the middle of writing a blog post and had been using their autosave feature to save my progress over a few days. However, when I went back to my post on the fourth day, I found that it had reverted back to the version from day one. I had lost all of my edits, including photos, links, videos, and text. As a creative writer, I know that rewriting the same thing is never as good the second time around, and I was very disappointed to have lost all of my hard work.
I tried to check the version history, but it only showed that the post had been started that day, with no previous versions available. I then tried to get help from WIX's call back option, but it kept telling me that my mobile number was incorrect, even though I had tried multiple numbers. I found it very odd that the same number worked when I was trying to upgrade my site, but not when I needed help.
I then tried the live chat option, but it only allowed me to proceed when I said I wanted a system upgrade. When I said I needed help, it sent me in circles back to the call back option. When I finally got through to a representative named Iliana, she wasted over an hour of my time going around in circles and not understanding my issue. She kept lying to me and telling me that she was conversing with the team to fix my problem, but they weren't actually doing anything to help me. She even sent me on wild goose chases, making me click into areas of the site that were not relevant to my issue.
When I asked Iliana to give my mobile number to the call back center, she told me she would send my email to the team and they might contact me back, but she couldn't guarantee anything. I was very disappointed with the service I received from WIX and do not recommend them to anyone who needs help with their site. Unless you are an IT expert who can fix your own issues, WIX is not capable of or interested in helping you. It was a very disappointing experience, and I hope that WIX will improve their customer service in the future.
Wix.com Premium Plan Review: Buyer Beware of Privacy Concerns and Confusing Website Builder
So, I signed up for the premium plan on Wix.com and boy, was I in for a surprise. Apparently, I can't close my account until a year after I purchased the subscription, even though I set it to "not renew". I mean, what kind of nonsense is that? And to make matters worse, I couldn't even close the account because the subscription hadn't run its course yet. Talk about frustrating!
But that's not even the worst part. I was shocked to find out that my uploaded photos were being made available for third-party vendors to use. I accidentally hovered over one of my photos and a pop-up window appeared, prompting me to log in to a third-party website to acquire the image. What kind of privacy is that? And when I tried to research ways to block this feature, I found out that there was no way to protect my photos at the time. I mean, seriously?
And it didn't stop there. Apparently, there was no way to limit the number of downloads visitors could make of my data. I don't know if the instructional information for their application needs to be updated or if there really is no way to block visitors from downloading my photos. And to top it all off, any information supplied by my clients was going to be made available to third-party vendors through social media links. No thank you!
The website builder application was also very confusing. I didn't take the time to watch the video tutorials, but I wanted a fast and easy way to build a website with a blog feature. Unfortunately, I didn't find it with this website builder. And if I wanted "professional help" with building the website, I had to pay extra. And to make matters worse, the website builder seemed to change the availability of product features by renaming them and then charging extra for the "new" feature. What a rip-off!
If I had known all of this before subscribing to their product plan, I would have avoided them like the plague. I didn't do my research thoroughly enough, and I regret it. I urge caution before proceeding with this website builder. Take greater care in your research before investing time, effort, and money into a product that doesn't match your needs or abilities. In my opinion, this website builder's product was not "user friendly", at least not for me.
Wix.com: A Fraudulent Company with Poor Customer Service
Fraud is becoming more and more common these days, and it's really sad to see. I recently had an issue with Wix.com when I was trying to add some photos to my gallery. The window was cut off at the bottom, and I couldn't access the options I needed. I tried to use the scroll bar and drag the window higher, but there was an invisible barrier that prevented me from doing so. This was a technical issue, but what really bothered me was the fraudulent activities that followed.
Like many others, I tried to contact Wix about the issue, but I couldn't get in touch with a real person. Instead, I was redirected to irrelevant information. The only way to get a call back was to sign up for one, which seemed strange to me. I followed all of their instructions, even taking a screenshot of the issue and writing notes about it. I gave them my phone number, but not even two seconds later, I received an auto-generated email saying they had tried to call me but couldn't reach me. This was a lie, as my phone never rang.
I responded to their email, telling them that I was disappointed with their service and that I would report them to the Better Business Bureau if the issue wasn't resolved within 24 hours. I received another email from them, asking me to submit another call back request. They also asked me to send a screenshot of the problem, even though I had already done so. This made me suspicious that they were either using a bot to respond to me or that the person responding was completely incompetent.
This whole situation is fraudulent, and Wix deserves to be investigated. They have taken money from many people without providing the services they promised. It's really sad to see a company come down to this.
Update: I did eventually receive correspondence from real people at Wix who tried to help me with my problem. While their solutions didn't work, they did help me figure out where the problem was coming from. I was able to find a temporary workaround for the issue.
However, this doesn't excuse what they did earlier. The pandemic may have caused employment shortages, but that's no excuse for lying. It's important to tell the truth from the beginning and not take advantage of people who don't know their rights. While it was good to finally engage with a real person, I still wouldn't recommend this company.
Disappointing Experience with Wix Customer Service: Save Your Work and Be Prepared to Wait on Hold
I was really excited to create my own website using Wix. However, my experience with their customer service was not great. I spent two hours working on my site, only to find out the next day that all of my work had disappeared. I called Wix to try and retrieve my work, but they told me that it wasn't in my history and there was nothing they could do. This was really frustrating, especially since the save button is supposed to automatically save your work.
I also had a few questions about how to customize my site, such as changing the background color and making the menu smaller. When I called customer service, the representative seemed to be learning as they went and didn't really know how to help me. They suggested using bright colors for my background, which didn't make sense since my color palette was greens, grays, and beige. It was clear that the representative didn't have much experience with the website and was just trying to figure things out as they went.
I called customer service a few more times, but each time I had to wait on hold for a long time before speaking to someone who could actually help me. It was frustrating to have to wait so long just to get an answer to a simple question.
In the end, I decided to cancel my subscription with Wix. While their platform has some great features, the poor customer service and lack of knowledge from their representatives made me feel like I couldn't trust them as a web host for my small business.
If you do decide to use Wix, I would recommend saving your work frequently and not relying on the automatic save feature. And if you need customer service, be prepared to wait on hold for a while before speaking to someone who can actually help you. Overall, I was really disappointed with my experience with Wix and would not recommend them to others.

I have just wasted another night trying in vain to reach Wix’s complaints department. I had already spent over an hour trying to do this last week, maneuvering not only their chatbots and customer care workers, but also calling directly. Wix teams promised me that someone SENIOR would call me back. They never did. I am very disappointed in Wix. Not just...

However ComplaintsBoard has detected that:
- While Wix has a high level of trust, our investigation has revealed that the company's complaint resolution process is inadequate and ineffective. As a result, only 4% of 143 complaints are resolved. The support team may have poor customer service skills, lack of training, or not be well-equipped to handle customer complaints.
- We have found that Wix is using a generic platform to host its website. While this is not necessarily an indication of any wrongdoing, it may suggest that the website is not tailored to the specific needs of the business or its customers.
Wix customer service for site unavailable

Dear WIX Support
Almost a month since my site was erroneously restricted and unavailable. You have apparently passed on the credit card imprint requested but still nothing. It is a mockery of how you value your customers that this is how long it has taken, and we are still unresolved. I have had to have an event with 50 people giving out samples for Three Dogs Approved that have a QR code that goes nowhere except the WIX - Not available page... Totally ridiculous response which is nigh on contempt for your customers and how valuable their websites are to them. I have now started to learn WordPress while I continue to wait, after a decade of loyal and devoted WIX usage on many sites, this service is so bad it is a travesty. The wide variety of customer service response comments has suggested that you "understand" my frustration but the actions do not back that up. I am so painfully disappointed a once wonderful brand has done so badly on this occasion. I wanted to escalate this complaint but you don't have a mechanism for that, I wanted to get an adequate response to my needs but also not yet. I am dented enough to tell everyone who asks website design to just say NOT WIX. Great design usage but APPALLING customer service. I invite anyone to adequately respond or get an email from anyone who cares how bad this experience has been. I will not hold my breath for either. I need an outlet for this appropriate frustration. I will find it eventually. Regards a once die-hard fan
Mr Stephen "Wasting his breath" Powell
Desired outcome: Site unrestricted again and usable.
Wix.com's Payment System and Customer Service: A Nightmare Experience
I run a small online antiques shop called Bagatelle LLC, and I've been using Wix.com for about 5 years now. I use their "wix payment method" to receive payment via credit card, and it's always been a pretty smooth process. However, I recently had a really frustrating experience with Wix that I feel like I need to share.
On May 26th, 2023, I made a sale for $8500 plus tax, paid by American Express. Everything seemed fine at first, but soon after the payment was made, I received an email from Wix saying that I needed to update my bank information. This was really confusing to me, because my bank information hadn't changed in 5 years. But I figured it was just a mistake, so I called Wix to try to sort it out.
That's when the real nightmare began. I spent hours on the phone with different Wix representatives, trying to upload documents and update my bank information. Every time I thought I had it sorted out, my documents would be rejected for no apparent reason. The Wix representatives were completely unhelpful, and they refused to give me any contact information for the department that was supposed to be handling my payment authentication. It was incredibly frustrating, and I felt like I was getting nowhere.
To make matters worse, I couldn't get my money from the sale, and Wix was unable to reimburse my client. I was losing a lot of money, and my company's reputation was taking a hit because of Wix's incompetence. I asked Wix when the reimbursement would be done, but no one was able to give me a straight answer. A supervisor was supposed to call me back, but that never happened.
Overall, I'm really disappointed with Wix. I've been a loyal customer for 5 years, and this is how they treat me? It's unacceptable. I would caution anyone who is thinking about using Wix to think twice. Their payment system is a mess, and their customer service is terrible. I hope that Wix will take steps to improve their service in the future, but until then, I'll be looking for a new website host.
My small business has had issues with WIX payment system as well. There were problems with a couple of double charges, beginning in May. WIX did let me know about those.
But then, the real problems started. They began refunding customers who did not ask for refunds! As a result, I lost hundreds of dollars in legitimate sales. WIX said they would look into it and that was the last I heard about it.
I advise all businesses to avoid WIX and their unethical practices.
was this issue ever fixed?
Wix Ecommerce Premium Features Review: Nightmare Billing and Customer Service
Yo, have you ever used Wix for your website or online store? Well, let me tell you, they ain't all sunshine and rainbows. My experience with their ecommerce premium features was a total nightmare. They kept billing my credit card without my consent, and when I tried to get a refund, their customer service was straight up trash.
I mean, they're supposed to offer a 14-day money back guarantee, but they didn't honor that at all. So, I had to take matters into my own hands and contact a lawyer in California (where Wix is based). After looking at the site and the billing layout, my lawyer found out that Wix was breaking the law.
According to the Automatic Renewal Law of California, it's illegal for companies like Wix to not present their automatic-renewal offer terms in a clear and conspicuous manner before the subscription. And it's also illegal for them to charge you for an automatic renewal or continuous service without first getting your affirmative consent to the agreement containing the automatic-renewal offer terms.
Wix was breaking both of these laws, and my lawyer advised me to contact the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and file an official complaint. And if that didn't work, I could pursue legal action.
So, if you're using Wix, be careful. Keep an eye on your billing activity and report any unauthorized charges to your bank and the FTC. And if you need to, get yourself a lawyer. Don't let Wix get away with illegally billing your account.
Wix's Customer Service is Unethical and Appalling - A Review
So, I've been using Wix for a while now and I gotta say, it's been pretty smooth sailing. I mean, I never had any problems with my account or anything like that. But then, out of nowhere, I started getting calls from people at Wix trying to sell me their services. I guess they have this social platform thing where you can sell and sponsor ads and stuff. Anyway, they were always telling me how great my website looked and how well I was doing. And honestly, I was pretty proud of it too.
But then, things took a turn. I was hosting a fundraiser for a friend who has breast cancer and is pregnant with her third child. I was doing something nice, you know? And then, all of a sudden, I get an email saying that my account has been frozen due to unusual activity. I mean, I get it, safety first and all that. But instead of calling me to verify the orders, they just send me an email saying that I won't receive my payouts. MY CUSTOMERS' PAYMENTS. They'll still accept payments on my site, but they won't give me the money.
So, in order to verify my account and get my money, which is actually proceeds for this family, I have to do a bunch of things. Privacy policy, terms and conditions, shipping and return policies, my physical address, contact info, all names, upload docs, literally everything. And that's fine, I guess. But why wasn't all of that mandatory before I started selling online? Before any payments were made, that should have been a requirement. But now, all of a sudden, since I had high sales, my account won't release funds to my bank.
Now, here we are. My TAT is 10-15 biz days. Now what? This family needs their raised donations. My customers want their shirts that I can't order because I don't have the thousands of dollars just laying around to order them. And now my name, my business, and my livelihood are on the line. It's a mess.
Days later, the issue still isn't resolved. And I can't even reach anyone! There's no customer service phone number to call or anything. It's just ridiculous.
So, I'm sorry to say that I can't recommend Wix anymore. Their customer service is just not up to par. It's unethical and appalling. And I'll definitely be switching to a different platform. And I'll be sure to let everyone know that Wix is not the place to do business with.
Did they ever release your funds?
Disappointing SEO and Shady Pricing: My Experience with Wix.com
I gotta say, I ain't too pleased with Wix.com. I've been trying to get my SEO game on point for a hot minute now, and even after shelling out for their premium account, I still can't seem to get found on Google or any other search engine. It's starting to feel like a straight-up conspiracy, you know what I'm saying? Like, maybe Wix.com ain't as up-to-date as they like to brag about.
I mean, when you pay for something, you expect to get what you paid for, right? And I gotta tell you, I've got other sites I use for free that give me way better service than Wix.com. The SEO editor is supposed to be one of the most important features, because if you can't get found on Google, what's the point of even having a website? And yet, here I am, still struggling to get my site noticed.
It's really starting to hurt my business, too. If people can't find me online, even after I've published my site on Wix.com and paid for their premium service, then what's the point? I'm running out of patience, to be honest. This whole thing has been a major headache, and it's not getting any better.
To make matters worse, I was pretty ticked off when I found out that the price I was charged for my premium plan was actually $10 more than what was advertised. When I contacted Wix.com about it, they told me that the advertised price was for their yearly plan, not the monthly one I had signed up for. I'm glad I didn't commit to a whole year with these guys, because I can't imagine dealing with this mess for that long.
The whole system is just clunky and slow, with lots of interruptions. I've spent way too much time trying to get the SEO editor to work for me, and it's still not doing what it's supposed to. It's ridiculous that this should be such a struggle. I mean, why am I paying for a website that can't even get me found on Google?
The longer it takes for me to get noticed by search engines, the more it feels like Wix.com just isn't up to snuff. They can brag all they want about how great they are, but if they can't deliver on their promises, what's the point? It's a real shame, because I had high hopes for this platform. But between the lackluster service and the shady pricing, I'm starting to think I made a mistake.
Wix.com Review: Mobile Version and Newsletter Sign Up Issues
My site looks pretty good, but I've had some issues with the mobile version and the newsletter sign up feature. It's been a real pain in the butt to use Wix.com to create my site. The biggest problem is that my site won't load on Safari on mobile devices, especially iPhones. A bunch of customers have told me that they can't load our site and they're all trying to load it on their phone. I put in a trouble ticket on March 5, 2015, and as of May 13, 2015, the issue still hasn't been fixed. All the service reps have acted like this is a problem specific to my site and even my mobile service provider, but it definitely isn't. I've spent a ton of time on the phone with Wix.com and haven't gotten anywhere. I even spent an hour on the phone with AT&T because Wix.com tried to blame the issue on them, even though customers with Sprint and Verizon were having the same issues. After my last call to Wix.com, they escalated my ticket to a "Development Team". It's been 3 weeks and I still haven't heard anything other than they don't know when it will be fixed and they can't give me any expectation at all when they might have a better answer.
The thing that really worries me is that I found a thread on the Wix.com support pages that shows that this particular problem has existed since at least September of 2014. You can check it out here if you want... https://www.wix.com/support/html5/ugc/4ce2d93b-c20f-4c15-921e-206ad9f63ff5/ec14e3b4-8c7b-43ba-b94e-cccff973c4b2. It seems like Wix.com either doesn't want to fix this issue or they can't fix it. Neither of those options are acceptable if you have any potential customers that own an iPhone.
It looks like I'm going to have to recreate my site somewhere else, which is going to be a huge waste of time that I don't have. I'm really disappointed with Wix.com and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. While the charges to use their tools and hosting are generally reasonable, you probably won't be compensated for the time it will take to recreate your site somewhere else when the very basic functionality of your site cannot be provided as promised.
Wix Review: Not Scalable or Cost-Effective for Growing Businesses
The first thing that caught my eye about Wix was its sleek and modern look. It seemed like a good option for someone looking to sell a small number of products, but unfortunately, that's where the positives end. Once you set up a store, you're stuck with it. There's no way to bulk upload or download products, which is a major issue for businesses with more than a few items.
Despite Wix's claims to be suitable for businesses of all sizes, it's clear that this platform is not scalable. If you sell products that customers might want to order in quantities greater than ten, you're out of luck. And forget about trying to access your order history or make any changes to your store's design on a mobile device - it's just not possible.
To make matters worse, Wix's pricing structure is anything but clear. You'll be hit with fees left and right, and there's no way to know how much you'll end up paying until it's too late. And if you do decide to leave Wix for a more scalable platform, be prepared to spend a fortune.
Overall, I would not recommend Wix to anyone looking to start or grow a business. The platform simply isn't equipped to handle anything beyond a few products and a handful of orders per year. Don't make the same mistake I did - do your research and choose a platform that can actually help your business succeed.
Wix: Not All It's Cracked Up to Be - A Review of Template Website Builders
I just read the ad for Wix and let me tell you, it's not all it's cracked up to be. I've been in the website game for a while now, using Microsoft front page, Dreamweaver, and RapidWeaver. These template companies are just trying to make a quick buck off of people who think they can get a cheap website. But the truth is, if you want your site to actually be seen by people and engage users, you're going to have to spend a lot of time learning organic SEO. And that's where Wix and companies like them come in - they want you to buy their templates and then pay for SEO services when you realize no one is visiting your site.
But here's the thing - after you stop paying for those services, your site will drop in search results. I've rebuilt sites from Wix and other similar platforms, and let me tell you, they don't hold up. WordPress, on the other hand, is the way to go if you want a site that's SEO-friendly and mobile-friendly. But it's not easy - you have to put in a lot of time and effort to learn how to use it properly.
I recently came across a Wix ad on Facebook that was bragging about how great their sites are for SEO. But when I ran some basic Google tests, I found that the site speed was below 50 on mobile and there was little to no SEO built in. It's frustrating to see companies like this misleading consumers and wasting their time and money.
So if you're just looking to build a personal website that doesn't need to generate business or income, then maybe Wix is an option. But if you want a site that's actually going to work for you, then you're going to have to put in the time and effort to learn how to use WordPress properly. And don't believe everything you read in company ads - do your own research and make an informed decision.
Warning: Avoid Wix for Your Website Needs - Slow, Buggy, and Misleading
I would strongly advise against using Wix for your website needs. In my experience, they are one of the worst providers out there. The Wix team seems to be constantly engaging in false advertising, promising beautiful and functional websites that simply don't deliver.
The websites themselves are incredibly slow, and even when you only have a few elements on a page, they can be virtually unusable. The images that are sent to social media are tiny and uninteresting, and there are countless bugs and issues that make using Wix a frustrating experience.
To make matters worse, the support team at Wix is virtually useless. They offer no real solutions to problems, and their only advice seems to be to clear your cache and restart your browser. This is hardly a helpful response, and it's certainly not something you should have to tell your clients in order for them to access your website.
It's also worth noting that while Wix may offer a low price for initial website creation, everything else is incredibly expensive. This is a dishonest and unscrupulous business practice, and it's just another reason why I would strongly recommend avoiding Wix at all costs.
In short, if you're looking for a reliable and functional website provider, Wix is not the way to go. Their advertising is misleading, their websites are slow and buggy, and their support team is virtually useless. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere for your website needs.
Beware of Wix: Payment Issues and Poor Customer Service
Hey, has anyone else had issues with getting paid by Wix for their online sales? I sold something for just over ?2000 on December 15th and got an email from Wix on the 16th asking for some verification items. They said it could take up to seven days to process, so I sent the items the next day. But a week went by and I heard nothing from them. I tried chatting with their helpline people, but they didn't seem to be able to help.
Then, my bank account went into the red for the first time in 40 years because Wix froze my payment. They didn't communicate with me at all, and I felt really embarrassed and frustrated. I tried chatting with them again, and they said they would mark my case as urgent. But later that day, I got an email from 'Justin' at Wix asking for the same information again. I was so angry that I managed to get a telephone call with someone from Wix in America.
After ranting for 20 minutes, I was passed to a supervisor who said they had all the paperwork they needed from me and that he would send an email to Justin to sort it out. I asked for a confirmation email, but I never got one. It's been really stressful because I can't make any sales until this is sorted out. I've had to use my savings to pay my bills, but my bank account is still frozen.
I'm starting to wonder if Wix is having financial trouble because their customer service has been so bad. They haven't sent me a single email despite me sending them five. They did say I could keep taking money from my sales, but I don't trust them anymore. I'm shutting down the online payment part of my website because I can't afford to lose any more money. Be careful with Wix, something's not right.
Wix Review: Great Features, Poor Customer Support & Glitches
I've been using wix for like over 3 years now and it's been pretty good. I mean, the customer support was great and they kept adding more and more features and apps which was pretty cool. I even told my friends about it.
But like, things started to go downhill about a year ago. I noticed more glitches and the customer/tech support wasn't as good as it used to be. And now, it's like at an all-time low. I can't even find where to submit a ticket anymore. I had to go to their facebook page and even then, it took forever to get a response.
One problem I've had for years is that all the elements I place on a box or strip "sticks". Like, if I click on the box only and delete it, everything on top of it deletes even if I didn't click on it. I tried to get help with this, but wix always says they're not having any problems with it or they just send me a generic message that doesn't even help. And now, the mobile editor is super glitchy. It freezes after one or two moves and the elements move around on their own. It's so frustrating.
I tried to reach out to tech/customer support, but I couldn't find the contact section to send a ticket to support. So, I went to facebook and followed the instructions. But, I had to wait a whole week for a response and when I finally got one, it was just another cut & paste message. Like, they didn't even read my message carefully. I replied and explained this, but it's been another week and I'm still waiting.
I checked my analytics and a lot of my visitors come from cell phones, so it's really important that my website works well on mobile. But, it seems like wix doesn't care anymore. I guess they made a lot of money last year, so they don't feel the need to provide quality care or control. But, luckily, there are other web hosts out there that I can use. I just hate that I spent so much time on this website and now I have to start over.
website I never used
I signed up for a free trial with a $15 a month fee. They then charged me over $170. I had not noticed because it came through PayPal. Today I got a notification from my bank that Wix pulled out over $340. I NEVER authorized that. When I tried to cancel I got an answer saying they will NOT offer refunds because I was not in a 14 day trial period. I never even used the service. Nor did I receive a bill saying they were DOUBLING. Please help me!
Desired outcome: full refund of $343 charge.
Payout!!!!
Hello I am a new company just starting my website with WIX, I have had several customers since starting my site however, I had them pay outside of WIX because I didn't have the payments system set yet. Well I took a leap and had them pay through WIX payment on May 31, 2023. Here it is June 5, 2023 and I'm still in a verification status. I received an email from WIX on May 31st stating that my funds were "on hold due to unusual activity" and to provide additional documents. I contacted them via phone and was told to send the requested documents so that they could prove whom I was. I sent the requested docs on May 31st and later received and email stating "Your request regarding “RE: Provide documents to keep receiving payouts for https://www.masterplanoccasions.com/” is in the queue.
One of our Experts will respond to your request via email. Please note that email responses can take over 24 hours.".
Later that evening I received another email from a different rep stating that

On June 2nd, I responded back stating that I wanted an update on my verification and that funds are being held from my vendors who did that job with me.
On June 4th, I received another email from a yet again different rep stating that

Hello L*****!

We can absolutely give you a call to go over everything. You can either submit a request for an immediate callback HERE when you're ready, or respond to this email with your time zone, preferred phone number, and a date/one hour time frame to schedule a callback.Â
We look forward to hearing from you! Have an amazing day!Â

And again, I respond for an update I also call and was on hold for 30mins and never got a call back.
The trend seems to be ALL emails and nothing being resolved.
Desired outcome: I would like my funds released ASAP and an apology. I also request that the handling of others funds be handled a little bit more straight forward instead of all the run around.
WIX
I canceled my WIX account at least 6 times. It was tricky. WIX disables all the buttons except the upgrade account buttons all but 2 days a month I found. I thought it was me...so logged in on 5 different devices and e different networks only to discover WIX's website has errors that prodit them...lol. How clever. So, almost 2 years after cancelling my account? Still getting billed. Worse? Their response to my 2nd email in a year...telling them I cancelled and had my bank block them was to go around that and get my new debit card number instead of my checking account number I signed up under.
Desired outcome: full refund for 2 years of fraudulent charges
Horrible customer service and lack of accountability and deserved refund for services that I can not use
3 weeks ago, my client paid an invoice. WIX took their fees immediately but refused to release my funds. Due to the late payment, I have lost my contractor and am being forced to close my accounts. I renewed my account in January 2023 and am being refused a refund for the remaining 8 months left in the contract. It's absurd. This is the worst experience of my life. Nobody in customer service ever helps! They state that they will send my issue to the correct department but denied me the ability to speak to someone who could fix the issue.
Desired outcome: Refund for the remaining 8 months $216
Wix payment system
I am the owner of Bagatelle LLC, a small online antiques shop and my website is hosted by Wix.com.
I have been using Wix.com for about 5 years and use "wix payment method" to receive payment via credit card.
I made a sale for $8500 plus tax on May 26th, 2023 paid by American express.
However, soon after the payment was made, I received an email from Wix saying that I needed to update my bank information (even if it did not change in 5 years).
After 5 phone calls, I uploaded several documents with my bank info, all matching Wix requirements, and tge information I had to enter manually. According to the differents persons I had over the phone my documents would work.
However, after probably 3 hours over the phone, about 10 attempts to download different documents, trying to fix that situation, it has systematically been rejected with no explanation. I was guaranteed over the phone that I would be reached out by email if that was the case, but it never happened.
Obviously, the persons I had over the phone systematically refused to give me the contact information of the department that is taking care of the payment system authentication just to make sure that such a situation will never resolve.
Since I am enable to get my money, I asked Wix to reimburse my client which after 3 days has still not be done. When I asked over the phone when it will be done, no one was able to answer.
A supervisor was supposed to call me back and it did not happened yet.
I can't get my money, the client can't get his money back, I will lose a client and a big sale, will damage my company's reputation because wix is enable to update my bank info that hasn't changed in 5 years. The structure of the company does everything possible not to resolve that situation and its best for the customer not to collect evidence as the only way you can reach them out is by calling them
Desired outcome: I want my money plus prejudice.
Billing my account after canceling 8 months earlier
I canceled their service in August 2022 and they billed my account for renewal in April 2023 without any notice. No way to contact their company unless you're a customer and that was nearly impossible then.
Desired outcome: Refund my account
