Employment/check scam
I was "hired" by a recruiting agent from world media group who called himself Michael Hein. His email is [protected]@dr.com. He said that I needed a fingerprint accessed laptop which I had one (MacBook Pro) he claimed that the companies software isnt compatible with Mac and that I needed a specific gaming computer. That was the first red flag. Then he said that I'll receive a direct deposit for the laptop plus the software and 800 wages for myself. THAT WAS A HUGE RED FLAG! Why would you pay me for work I hadn't done yet? Then he emailed a e-check and said I had to print it out and deposit it into my account. At this time I started asking alot of questions that obviously made him angry cause he emailed me back and said that if I didnt trust him and thought he was scamming then I should look for employment elsewhere. At this point, I knew it was a scam but I wanted proof it was a scam. I decided to call my banks fraud department and let them know what happened. I then deposited the check for my bank to verify. My bank contacted me and said that they couldn't verify the check meaning that the check was fake. Thats when I found the complaints from other victims. I get dozens of emails and text messages a week for job offers that are scams. After responding to them they always want to send me a check. No legit job will ask you for money or send you a check. If office equipment is required, they will send you the equipment or they will inform you beforehand what is required for the position (laptop, microphone, camera, high speed internet).
Fraudulent Paychecks Issued
I recently was employed by this company. Michael Hein issued a number of e-checks for $2,950. to me to deposit at my bank. Once cleared I was asked to get $2,150. in cash and deposit, it into their business account @ PNC Bank. Last week on 12/9/2022 all five deposited checks were then returned for $14,750 in total. I filed a fraud report today with my local police department. I will take it once completed to my bank and have their fraud department investigate the returned check deposits And Michael Hein. I have resigned from the position since. Beware of the scam!
Desired outcome: I want my money back and the company held responsible for fraud.
Thanks for the information.
Employment scam
I received a job offer thru a michael hein who said your company was interested in me as a customer support specialist.. I went along with his emails and today 12-1-22 he sent me a e check to deposit into my bank.. I always verify out of state checks and the bank name is south central bank, inc in ky said the check 5185 was fraudulent. Then he emails me back and says other employees deposit the echeck successfully..
The check is for 2,770.00 I am to keep 800 and have 1970 to send back to puchase a fancy computer with fingerprint technology on it
One of the emails I received from this company said they needed my routing number of my bank account but not the account number?
I plan to go to my own bank to see if they can verify this check they sent me is real or fake
Desired outcome: i want to verify this company is real thats all
it seems like they always use the same script. when I confronted Michael hein over the fraudulent check, he also said that other associates deposit their checks successfully.
I got the same job offer. Mr. Hein sent me an e-check and said I had to print it out and deposit it into my bank account. I knew something was off. I wanted more info though. I emailed Mr. Hein and said that my bank refused the check because it was invalid. He said that he had proof that it will clear and tried getting me to deposit the check. I continued on that my bank refused. He then said that he will add me to the payroll and direct deposit the money for this specific laptop that he wanted me to buy. He first claimed that all we needed was a laptop with fingerprint access. Which I have. I have a MacBook Pro with fingerprint access but he said that my laptop won't work with their software. Thank god I listened to my gut feeling. Beware of this scam. If it's too good to be true, it usually is.
Thank you for posting about Mr. Hein he is trying to offer me employment and i felt something wasn't right about it so i researched and found this information and researched the company and it's shows closed in the UK. It is not an official offer letter his name nor the position is listed on a job board. This is a scam.
