Terrible Customer Service and Neglectful of Clients: A Warning about Worldpay
This company, Worldpay, is unfortunately a very bad company indeed. Their customer service is practically non-existent, and they always side with the customer when it comes to chargebacks, neglecting the needs of clients like us. They don't bother to keep you informed or follow up on any issues. It's as if they do nothing at all. These people are truly enemies of progress.
If you happen to be a small business owner, I strongly suggest that you take your business elsewhere, to someone who is actually willing to help, guide, and assist you as a partner. Worldpay fails to fulfill any of these essential roles.
I absolutely cannot and will not recommend this company.
Beware of Worldpay: Promised Free Terminal, Charged $755! Switched to Better, Affordable Service
I had an account with Worldpay, selling 1.6 million a year for 24 years. I pay this company 5k a month, which is quite a hefty sum. Recently, I called them to ask for a new terminal because the one I was using was quite old. Mind you, I had paid for this terminal 10 years ago, so I thought it was only fair that they send me a new one for free. To my surprise, they agreed to send me a new terminal without any charges. However, when I received the terminal, I was shocked to see that I was charged $755 a month later. I immediately called them to inquire about this unexpected charge, and their response left me dumbfounded. They simply said, "Sir, nothing is free." I couldn't believe it! I had been lied to by Worldpay, and they had overcharged me for something they promised would be free.
Frustrated and disappointed, I decided to switch to another company. With the new company, I not only got a better deal but also saved $910. They provided me with a free point-of-sale system, complete with a printer and terminal. It was a breath of fresh air to finally receive honest and affordable service.
I strongly advise against signing up with Worldpay. Take the time to shop around and explore other options. You deserve a company that will provide you with honest and reasonably priced services. Don't make the same mistake I did.
Worldpay's Unreliable Approval and Risk Appetite Policies: Beware of Potential Business Ruin
I'm a solar panel seller and installer, and I got approved for a card machine from Worldpay. I received it on Thursday, January 26th, 2023. My very first customer wanted to pay a deposit of ?13,000 by credit card over the weekend. So, on Friday, January 27th, I called Worldpay to explain the situation and asked if I needed to get the payment pre-approved. They assured me that everything was fine and that I could go ahead and take the payment. They even mentioned that the funds would be in my bank account by Monday or Tuesday. Feeling reassured, I proceeded to take the payment.
However, on Monday, I received a call from Worldpay. They informed me that my business model was not within their risk appetite, and as a result, they would be holding onto the ?13,000 for a whopping 120 days. I couldn't believe it! How could they have approved me for the card reader and given me the green light to accept the ?13,000 deposit, only to turn around and change their minds?
I strongly advise against dealing with these individuals. They are nothing but conmen who can potentially ruin your business.

Worldpay: Unprofessional Contract Cancellation and Ongoing Charges
This company, Worldpay, is like a Mickey Mouse Outfit. I set up a contract with them in 2022, and after 6 weeks, their compliance department, in their infinite wisdom, decided that my business wasn't for them. They immediately cancelled the contract without any notice, causing me a lot of issues with our business.
I quickly contacted our bankers, Lloyds, who set up Cardnet for me to use. I've been using Cardnet perfectly fine since then. However, for the past 6 months, I've been receiving monthly charges from Worldpay. What the heck? They cancel the contract and then have the audacity to continue charging me 6 months later. I've been calling them every month since December, asking them to remove me from their records, but so far, they haven't. What a bunch of deadheads. Seriously, don't get involved with this company for card payments. Lloyds Cardnet is excellent.
Worldpay's Negligence and Blame Game: $21,000 Lost to Fraudulent Activity
That's right, folks. Can you believe it? A whopping $21,000 gone! Worldpay is just fine with charging me money for fraudulent activity. I've been on the phone and sending emails for months, and guess what? They've been pointing fingers at everyone except themselves. Back in 2013, they were supposed to set up my new account and activate the fraud filters in Authorize.net. But no, they failed to do that. And you know what they did? They blamed Authorized.net for a good two months. Can you imagine? Thankfully, I managed to get Authorized.net to send me some paperwork that clearly shows that Worldpay is the one at fault for not setting up my fraud filters. And you know what they offered me? Absolutely nothing. Zilch. Nada. Now, get this, they're actually trying to pin the blame on me for the fraud attack. Can you believe the audacity? And to top it all off, they still managed to make a cool $21,000 from this fraudulent activity that they could have easily prevented if they had just set up my account properly back in 2013. They suck, plain and simple. They didn't offer a single penny back to my small business. They refuse to take any responsibility for their actions, and it seems like they actually want people like me to fall victim to fraudulent activity because, hey, they make a profit from it. Can you believe the nerve?
Warning: Worldpay - The Sneakiest Credit Card Processing Company with Hidden Fees and Poor Customer Service
Be warned, folks! Worldpay is the sneakiest credit card processing company you'll ever come across. Let me tell you, they'll hit you with hidden fees left and right. They had the audacity to charge me for a machine I never even had! When I asked for a refund, they flat out refused. And that's not all, my friends. In December 2017, I noticed some hefty fees on my account, courtesy of Worldpay. I had had enough, so I decided to close my account in January 2018. They closed it alright, but there was one pesky transaction that still needed to be taken care of. So, I called them up and guess what? They told me they had to reopen my account just to close that one transaction. Can you believe it? They reopened it and guided me through the process of forcing the transaction. At that point, I thought they had finally closed the account for good. Boy, was I wrong! Those sneaky devils left the account wide open and proceeded to charge a whopping $1142.29 in fees to my poor ol' checking account. I've reached out to them multiple times, but all I got was a case number from some call center employee and zero response. Let me tell you, this company thrives on scamming innocent clients. I repeat, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use this company. Stay far, far away!
Frustrating Experience with Worldpay: Funds Withheld, Customer Refunds Delayed
Withholding our funds and our customers' funds has been a major headache! We've been with Worldpay for years, but they recently sent us an email to verify our account. Unfortunately, it ended up in our spam folder, which is where we usually find their emails that are just spammy offers to lend us money and whatnot.
Out of the blue, they demanded that we send them our passport and other documents without even bothering to give us a phone call to follow up. It's been a frustrating experience, to say the least.
Since December 2nd, they've been holding onto our funds, and to make matters worse, they're also withholding all customer refunds. Our customers are understandably getting annoyed with us because they haven't received their money back yet.
We've been going back and forth with emails, but our account still hasn't been verified, and the restriction hasn't been lifted. We've been diligently sending them exactly what they ask for, but it seems like they're just dragging their feet. Just today, I received yet another email (after waiting an additional 7 days) telling me to resend my email with the reference number included, even though I had already stated the reference number in my previous email! It's beyond frustrating.
Now we have to wait another 5 to 7 days for them to reply again. It's like they're playing a never-ending waiting game with us.
Trying to resolve this issue over the phone has been an absolute pain. Dealing with their underpaid call center in the Far East is a nightmare. It feels like nobody there has a clue about what's going on.
Once this whole mess is finally resolved, we're definitely leaving Worldpay in the New Year. This whole situation is just outrageous, and we've had enough.
Worldpay's Deceptive Practices and Horrendous Customer Service: A Nightmare Experience
I really wish I could give Worldpay zero stars because they truly don't deserve anything more. Back in 2019, we made a request to have our accounts closed. Now, here's an interesting tidbit - Worldpay actually has two types of accounts for each Merchant ID: an IP account and a Core account. Guess what? They only closed the IP accounts and conveniently kept the Core accounts open without bothering to inform us or seek our approval. As a result, we've been slapped with statement fees since 2019. Can you believe it?
It took a whopping two whole months of tirelessly calling Worldpay, averaging about five hours per week, just to get them to understand what was happening and finally send me the DocuSigns required for closing the Core accounts. And you know what's even more audacious? They had the nerve to charge me an Early Termination Fee on one of the accounts. Seriously, Worldpay? Are you kidding me?
Finally, in March, the Core accounts were closed. But guess what? They're still charging me a whopping $100 per month. Hey, Worldpay, let me enlighten you - this is called stealing. And guess what? It's illegal! Their customer service is absolutely horrendous. Every time I call, I get a different answer, but never a solution. And to top it off, I'm always transferred at least three times before I can speak to someone who might be able to help.
Today, I discovered that my call, which I thought was being directed to customer service through the telephone tree prompts, actually ended up in Collections. The person I spoke to assured me that she would transfer me to a customer service representative, but surprise, surprise - she turned out to be yet another person in Collections. She then claimed she was transferring me to someone in customer service, but when she hung up, the line went dead.
Worldpay seems to have no qualms about taking your hard-earned money and leaving you with no recourse. It's just plain bad. Bad. Bad.

?30,000 of losses over 2 months - could have been ?70,000 - Worldpay Ignore Organised Crime & Profit Directly From It
Further update as of 19/09/2022
FCA & FSA have been notified - How Worldpay are duping their merchants into believing their system is secure is in my opinion - criminal.
I am the proof - business owner of 27 years trading online.
I have now found out they have charged me ?1000 in "premium charges". I had to Google this to find its for "high risk transactions". This proves they knew when they authorised every single payment that they were FRAUD. LITERALLY profiting from crime. I know this sounds unbelievable but its exactly what they do.
FCA provided me with a direct contact number for head of compliance at Worldpay. He took my call ONCE and then never again - Now he has my number he knows not to answer.
Less than 24 hours from me contacting them they had completed their "investigation". They didnt communicate with me - they were still totally oblivious and uninterested in the obvious criminal activity (They authorised over 20 payments over 2 months from United Arab Emerets being delivered to addresses within 5 miles of each other in North East London - AUTHORISED). WE HAD TO TELL THEM!
Their "investigation" was a copy and paste reply basically saying that regardless of any concerns of their systems and procedures its all in their terms and conditions.
I am currently in communication with the National Press who I hope will help highlight how Worldpays system is openly inviting fraud.
2 business owners who use the same style of dashboard and virtual payment system tell me that their system (stripe) will not allow the payment to go through without CVV code and postcode matches. You dont say! The fact that Worldpay are saying I can "upgrade" my system to do this? Despicable.
What they are actually saying is I can pay extra to "upgrade" my virtual payment screen to the standard of a 1990s PDQ machine. Think about it.
Do you operate Worldpay? Did you "upgrade"? They dont want you to because they LOSE YOUR PAYMENT COMMISSIONS! They want to take your payment commissions on the fraud - then claw it back from YOU and tell you it was YOUR fault!
***
Currently I am awaiting the results of a massive fraud in excess of ?30,000
The criminals KNEW (which I didnt) that the Worldpay online control panel accepts payments where the address and 3 digit code DO NOT MATCH (this is our online form we fill in when taking the order over the phone - which includes full address, 3 digit number etc - All details are included but the payment is accepted regardless of match or not - and there is literally NO warning prior to the money being taken.
Then - The control panel that I oversee all Worldpay business shows NO alerts of any issues on transactions each day.
Then when the card holder reports the card has been mis used NO ALERT on the Worldpay control panel to tell you this.
When Worldpay take the money from my account because of the fraud? NO ALERT on the control panel to tell you this either.
Worldpay have literally allowed organised criminals to make payments to my business illegaly - retrieve refunds from my business via worldpay - ALL without me as the owner of the business even knowing what was happening.
Their ONE defense? They sent me a LETTER to tell me the chargeback was occuring. A LETTER!
So the online control panel that gives me a complete overview of my business? Nope... A letter.
This is Worldpays Merchant Guarantee of protection from their site...

Worldpay Merchant Guarantee
This topic is fully described in the Merchant Guarantee Guide, please refer to it for further details.
The Worldpay Merchant Guarantee can provide additional protection against fraud related chargebacks for online transactions for UK merchants.
Under this service Worldpay covers loss of funds arising from third party fraud on guaranteed transactions (for example, stolen credit cards). When chargebacks arise as a result of third party fraud Worldpay will issue a refund if the terms of the guarantee are met.
The Merchant Guarantee does not apply to transactions if you receive a 'Warning' alert but still accept the order. Also note that the Merchant Guarantee is available only to Worldpay merchants.

I am a Worldpay Merchant - We received ZERO warning / alert.
If Worldpay ignore what I have reported they are complict in allowing organised crime.
Today I will hear the results of the investigation and whether I will be liable for the 30k in chargebacks as well as all of the lost goods.
I have been in business 27 years and have never experienced anything like this - its like my worst nightmare.

Worldpay Complaints 10
Avoid Worldpay: Terrible Service and Incompetence in Credit vs. Debit Transactions
Worldpay is a company that I would strongly advise you to avoid. There are just way too many negative aspects to mention, and it's best to steer clear of their services. They have been absolutely terrible in my experience, as they charged me for credit transactions for over a year when they were actually debit transactions. This is completely unacceptable and shows a lack of competence on their part. It's important to be cautious when dealing with Worldpay, as they seem to have a tendency to make these kinds of mistakes.
Excessive Pricing for Customer Gift Card Report: Disappointed with Worldpay's High Cost and Lack of Value
We needed our customer gift card report, and they quoted us $2000 to get us that report. It's the customers' data! They have every right to get the numbers and balances.
I mean, seriously, $2000 just for a report? That's a lot of money, especially when it's our own customers' information. We should be able to access that without breaking the bank.
I understand that companies need to make money, but this feels a bit excessive. It's not like we're asking for some top-secret classified information here. It's just a simple report with numbers and balances.
I think it's important for businesses to remember that customer data is valuable. It's what helps us understand our customers better and make informed decisions. So why should we have to pay such a hefty price just to access our own data?
I've heard good things about Worldpay, but this experience has left me a bit disappointed. I was expecting better customer service and more reasonable pricing. It's frustrating when companies prioritize profit over customer satisfaction.
In the end, we decided not to go ahead with the report. It just didn't make sense to spend that much money on something that should be readily available to us. We'll have to find another way to gather the information we need.
I hope Worldpay takes customer feedback into consideration and reevaluates their pricing strategy. It's important for businesses to find a balance between making money and providing value to their customers. Otherwise, they risk losing trust and loyalty.
Overall, I can't say I'm thrilled with my experience with Worldpay. The high cost for a simple report has left a sour taste in my mouth. I hope they make some changes in the future to better serve their customers' needs.
Disappointing Transition to Worldpay: Lost Transactions and Lack of Communication
Transitioning to Worldpay was supposed to be a smooth process, but it turned out to be quite the opposite. It's been two months now, and we are still unable to process health saving cards for our clients. This has resulted in us losing thousands of dollars in transactions that we could have otherwise processed. The most frustrating part is that they don't even bother returning our calls. We have to constantly chase them for updates, and even then, nobody seems to have a solution to our problem. It's incredibly disappointing and has caused a lot of inconvenience for our business.
Is Worldpay Legit?
Worldpay earns a trustworthiness rating of 91%
Highly recommended, but caution will not hurt.
Worldpay.com has a valid SSL certificate, which indicates that the website is secure and trustworthy. Look for the padlock icon in the browser and the "https" prefix in the URL to confirm that the website is using SSL.
Worldpay.com has been deemed safe to visit, as it is protected by a cloud-based cybersecurity solution that uses the Domain Name System (DNS) to help protect networks from online threats.
Several positive reviews for Worldpay have been found on various review sites. While this may be a good sign, it is important to approach these reviews with caution and consider the possibility of fake or biased reviews.
We looked up Worldpay and found that the website is receiving a high amount of traffic. This could be a sign of a popular and trustworthy website, but it is still important to exercise caution and verify the legitimacy of the site before sharing any personal or financial information
However ComplaintsBoard has detected that:
- While Worldpay has a high level of trust, our investigation has revealed that the company's complaint resolution process is inadequate and ineffective. As a result, only 0% of 10 complaints are resolved. The support team may have poor customer service skills, lack of training, or not be well-equipped to handle customer complaints.
- Worldpay protects their ownership data, a common and legal practice. However, from our perspective, this lack of transparency can impede trust and accountability, which are essential for establishing a credible and respected business entity.
Frustration with Worldpay's Inaccurate Information and Costly Consequences
I'm really frustrated with Worldpay and I'm seriously considering filing a complaint with the BBB. I've had to reach out to them countless times because one of my clients filed a credit card dispute. But every time I talk to them, they give me wrong information, and it's costing me over $250. It's even worse because Rectangle Health uses them, so I'm definitely canceling Rectangle Health because I never want to have anything to do with Worldpay again!
Terrible Customer Service, Clunky Website, and Outrageous Fees: My Disappointing Experience with Worldpay
to say. I called their support line and was put on hold for ages, only to be transferred to different departments multiple times. It was a real hassle just to get a simple answer. When I finally spoke to someone who could help, they were rude and unhelpful. They didn't seem to care about my concerns or the fact that I had been a loyal customer for so long.
Not only that, but their website is a nightmare to navigate. It's slow and clunky, making it difficult to find the information I needed. I had to click through multiple pages just to find their contact details. And when I did manage to find them, their email response time was ridiculously slow. It took them days to get back to me, which is unacceptable in this day and age.
To make matters worse, their fees are outrageous. I was shocked when I saw the early determination fee they wanted to charge me. It's ridiculous that they think they can get away with charging such a high amount for ending a contract early. It's clear that they prioritize profit over customer satisfaction.
Overall, I am extremely disappointed with Worldpay. Their customer service is abysmal, their website is a nightmare, and their fees are exorbitant. I would not recommend them to anyone. Save yourself the headache and find a different payment processor. There are plenty of other options out there that offer better service at a more reasonable price.
Worldpay's Terrible Customer Service and Outdated Technology: A Nightmare Experience
Worldpay's customer service is absolutely terrible, especially considering the exorbitant fees they charge. It's like they're stuck in the Stone Age when it comes to technology. Recently, my nonprofit organization had to switch bank accounts, which meant we had to reach out to various vendors. Dealing with Worldpay, however, was an absolute nightmare. We made five phone calls and sent two emails, yet our issue remains unresolved. I strongly advise against using their services. This company is a real beast that you should avoid feeding.
Unethical and Dishonest: My Terrible Experience with Worldpay
I am extremely unhappy with the way Worldpay handles things. They didn't even bother to keep a record of when they closed our accounts, yet they had no problem charging fees on those very same closed accounts. To make matters worse, they slapped us with a penalty fee for closing an account before the renewal date, even though they failed to document or note that we had closed it. It's clear to me that they are not only dishonest but also lack any sense of ethics. I strongly advise against doing any business with them in the future.
WorldPay: Unethical Practices and Customer Money Theft
This company, WorldPay, is involved in stealing from customers. I had a merchant account with them, and they took my customers' money without giving it to me or refunding it to the cardholders. This caused me a lot of embarrassment, and they still haven't released the money. My customers are going through the chargeback process, but WorldPay is trying to hold onto the money. They are complete thieves!
Worldpay's Complicity in Fraud: Beware of DCbatteries.co.uk
Worldpay is a payment service that handles transactions and transfers the responsibility to the company it represents. Unfortunately, the company they work with in this case is involved in fraudulent activities and fails to deliver the purchased items. Worldpay, by being complacent, becomes complicit in this fraudulent behavior. It is important to be cautious and avoid using WorldPay for any purchases. The company they are associated with, www.DCbatteries.co.uk, is actually a Chinese organization that solely focuses on receiving money without providing the promised goods.
Unbelievable Billing Issues: Terrible Services and Lack of Communication
Terrible services. They billed me for months without me even knowing. I didn't use any of their services and they never bothered to get in touch with me, even though I thought I had closed my account. Can you believe it? They charged me for 10 whole months, including annual fees, and then had the audacity to claim they did nothing wrong. Unbelievable! The reason I never heard from them was because they had my contact and email information all messed up. Can you imagine the frustration and loss of my hard-earned money? It's just not right. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Go somewhere else where you won't have to deal with this kind of nonsense. I wouldn't even give them a single star.
