Worthy Review: Lack of Integrity and Low Offers
I gotta tell ya, I had a pretty bad experience with Worthy. I mean, I read the reviews and saw that a lot of people had similar issues, but I thought I'd give them a shot anyway. Boy, was I wrong.
So, here's the deal. Worthy reps will talk to you all nice and sweet, and they'll convince you to send them your ring so they can take out the diamond. But they don't tell you that until after you've already sent it to them. And then, when they give you an offer, it's way lower than what you were expecting. I mean, I was offered 15% of my appraisal value! That's crazy!
And then, when you try to get your ring back, they suddenly become unresponsive. I had to threaten to report my ring stolen before they finally sent it back to me. And get this: when I got it back, I saw that they had insured it for the value they offered me, not the appraised value that I had it insured for. That's just shady.
Oh, and don't even get me started on the difference between the initial offer and the final offer. They offered me $535 at first, but then their final offer was $1100. I mean, what the heck? And even if they had offered me more, I wouldn't have taken it. I sold my ring to a local jewelry dealer for the same amount that Worthy offered me during my initial consultation. And I didn't have to give up the 20% fee that Worthy requires.
So, yeah. Don't waste your time with Worthy. They lack integrity and they're just not worth it.
Worthy Jewelry Review: Potential Errors and Delays in the Process
I recently used Worthy to sell some of my jewelry, including a 4ct. Unheated Sapphire platinum & Diamond ring, 2 natural fancy yellow diamond rings, and a Tsar era pendant made by Kochli. I was a bit skeptical of Worthy's process, as I have 20 years of experience in the jewelry industry and a GIA Diamonds grad. However, I decided to give them a try.
When I sent my items to Worthy, they informed me that they felt the Sapphire was significant enough to send to GIA for a country of Origin report, which is a 4-week process. I was hoping they would auction the diamonds in the meantime, but most of my emails inquiring about the diamonds went unanswered. Finally, when the Sapphire returned, they had me make an appointment for a 15-minute phone conversation to set the auction prices.
During the call, I asked about the Sapphire's origin, and the representative didn't know and had to put me on hold twice for a total of 2 minutes and 35 seconds. When she came back, she referred to the Sapphire as a 3.24 ct sapphire set with two round diamonds, which was incorrect. It's actually a 3.92 ct Sapphire set with two emerald cut diamonds. I then asked about the larger yellow diamond, and the representative referred to its clarity as VVS2, which was also incorrect. It's an I (imperfect) at best.
Despite these errors, Worthy wanted to set the reserve for the yellow diamond at $1,200, but I insisted it be $1,700. Of my 4 items, that was the only one I let them auction, and it got a high bid of $636 and 48 views (it has gotten more on EBay).
After mulling over our Sapphire discussion and realizing that they had the wrong size stone and wrong setting, I emailed them and said I wanted my 4 items back ASAP. I did get them back in three days, but they shipped them via FedEx with a total value on the insurance of $1,800, which wouldn't even cover the scrap value of the gold and platinum. The actual retail value of all 4 items was $32k.
Overall, if you don't have a recent appraisal, know the grade of your diamonds, and are willing to take 1/3 of the value (wholesale), you would be better off at a pawn shop or your local jeweler. However, if money doesn't matter and you want quick cash, Worthy may be a great choice. Just be aware of the potential errors and delays in the process.
Worst experience of my life!
Worst experience of my life! In short, I sent three pieces that were branded the same to be auctioned. They were all sent together in their original boxes. When I decided to have the pieces sent back, they were Ill boxed and returned in plastic sand which bags. I was absolutely shocked! I have tried for two months to reach worthy on EVERY contact angle and no on reaches back. I simply want my original boxes back! This is absolute theft and they are refusing to return something that doesnt even belong to them! I am in shock and awe and have cried over this situation multiple times as I feel scammed and cheated. This is theft and abuse of the public whom entrust in a reputable company.

Great customer service and communication. Very simple and smooth experience!
I was nervous about sending in my ring. Worthy kept in touch at every turn. Got a little more than local stores offered. Money arrived in my account as promised. Will use them again and recommend to friends.
I am so grateful I chose Worthy to help me sell my diamond
I am so grateful I chose Worthy to help me sell my diamond. They were extremely communicative and even though I never ended up needing to talk to them via phone, I really appreciated the updates via email, text, and even a few personal voicemails from ***. I didnt have many questions as they gave me really clear guidance and informationbut it was nice knowing I had a personal contact who was quick to respond if I needed it. Also knowing that my ring was either en route somewhere, being cleaned, appraised, or photographed etc. was comforting! (& exciting) I would also like to add I appreciated the different suggestions for reserve pricesas someone who doesnt know much about selling jewelry, it was nice to have guidance with explanation. Thank you Worthy & ***!

I had a very good experience selling my ring through Worthy. The process was relatively quick and I made more money through the auction process than I was offered by local jewelry stores. The staff at Worthy kept in touch and kept me well-informed during the entire process. I received the funds within days of the auction!
and *** helped make my experience of selling my ring, that was very dear to me, a good one. I would recommend Worthy to anyone that has jewelry to sell. My ring sold for over double the reserve price and the funds were in my bank account in 2 days. Great experience overall!
Amazing experience! I was nervous about sending my ring in but they kept me up to date every step of the way and got me way more money than I expected for my rings!
Worthy.com Employees are worthy of five(5) stars, BUT, I just recieved my *** items back and they DAMAGED two (2) of my five (5) rings
Worthy.com Employees are worthy of five(5) stars, BUT, I just recieved my *** items back and they DAMAGED two (2) of my five (5) rings. No JOKE. Peeved. I approved them taking out a stone/singular (diamond solitaire) HOWEVER, they removed one of the Amethyst/set in a pav styled ring, sent back in PIECES in lil'plastic baggie, separate feom ring. OTHER PROBLEM, they said my Diamond had a 'chip' when they received it. SADLY, this is HIGHLY SUSPECT, as I had taken to get *** 'mapped' & appraised for insurance purposes, by a reputable jeweler in ***, , (***, jewlers) whom I've been dealing with for over twenty (20) years & NO MENTION of a chip. So now a $2600 retail is worth, ?$1200 ...NO, now with a 'chip' lucky to get $300. Thanks Worthy(less).com. BE WARNED.

Well they took my ring, got it ready for auction, I didn't get what I wanted so I asked for it back! Since the auction has been over they have not spoken a word to me. Even though on many occasions I have asked for it back. A *** ring seems to be just gone! ?
At first, I was hesitant to *** my ring to Worthy but I am so glad I did. I cannot believe how easy the process was. My ring sold for $1200 more than the reserve price and the money was deposited into my bank account within 2 days of its selling. All communication with customer service was seamless and they make sure you are fully informed of every step in the process. I will definitely recommend Worthy to a friend and will use them again in the future. I am thrilled with my experience.
My experience was great. Every step of the process was explained. My auction was quick and I received my funds within days.
At first I was skeptical sending my ring to Worthy. After trying local jewelry and *** shops that would give me less than 5% of what I originally paid for the ring, I decided to give Worthy a shot. Throughout the whole process *** and team kept me updated every step of the way. My ring ended up selling for over $3K more than my reserve. *** and team made the process easy and worry free. Payment was deposited into my account within three business days of the auction ending. I wouldnt hesitate to sell with worthy again and recommend them highly.
Had an amazing experience with this company
Had an amazing experience with this company.Over 2 years ago I decided to sell some of my jewelry, but was not comfortable to send my 3k diamond ring anywhere. This yearI came back to this idea, and after talking to ***, who was my Customer Success Associate, I decided to try. After reviewing all my jewelry 4 products were placed on auction. At first I got nervous, since the suggested reserved price was much lower that I wanted for my ring, but at the end it was sold 2X reserved price. Got deposit into my account within a week, and all jewelry that they couldnt sell few days later. Reading other review I can say that the process will depend on the person who you will be dealing with in this company, I got extremely lucky and would recommend my Customer Success Associate - ***. Thank you very much!

Loved the communication throughout the process. Zero wondering or not knowing what was going on. Great experience.
Overall an easy and smooth process from start to finish. Thought I would get a little bit more for the wedding ring set but I was satisfied.
was a great help from start to finish in selling my diamond. He kept me informed throughout the entire process and was very professional. I highly recommend Worthy and will recommend to my friends.
I sent an expensive diamond ring to them to sell, it arrived an empty box
I sent an expensive diamond ring to them to sell, it arrived an empty box. *** denied the claim saying that the box was not damaged. *** claim denied also saying not wrapped properly even though I did as instructed (which is a moot point since the box according to *** was not damaged). Rings just don't walk off by themselves someone had to tamper with this box. I see since May several similar complaints are being filed. I am out my ring, money and sentimental value. I am in shock that I got taken by this unworthy company. I called *** and while they boast they are insured by them the lawyer for *** said they are not. I have the email. It's just another company under *** umbrella that they may be insured with. This is nothing short of theft. I won't stop until I get to the bottom of this.
I will NEVER use this website again
I will NEVER use this website again. Stay clear from them. it's now 3.5 weeks since they received my diamond bracelet. I gave them the details over the phone, plus sent them a copy of the updated appraisal before they sent me the *** label via email. They received it the next day and told me there is no demand for it. Why didn't they tell me this before asking me to mail it to them. They have still not returned my bracelet 3 weeks later. I feel like a nervous mess like I'm going to have a heart attack. I'm so worried about its whereabouts. Ive called them several times and they keep telling me its being processed for return. They were quick to take my bracelet but now won't send it back in a timely manner and I now feel that they are probably removing all the diamonds and replacing them with *** I'm horrified, scared and very upset.

I have sold two rings through Worthy, and both experiences were fantastic!
I have sold two rings through Worthy, and both experiences were fantastic! I sold my wedding ring in 2019 and my sisters wedding ring in 2021. From the initial contact requesting information to send it via mail, to the deposit of the money in my bank account, it was all so painless! Sending via worthy, is much more financially beneficial, than going through a pawn shop. Sidenote, you are NOT going to get what you paid for it, so if that is what you are expecting, you will be in a rude awakening. I worked with Ornella throughout the process, and she responded to emails within 24 hours, and kept me filled in, both times, on where my rings were, and what steps were next. I highly recommend it! Feel free to use my link, to sell! *** Thanks Worthy! If i had more diamonds that I wanted to part with, i'd send them your way!

I sent my earrings in 4Cts each stone
I sent my earrings in 4Cts each stone. Valued at $170k. They stated I was offered $8k. I refused knowing the stones are worth so much more. I have requested since May 2nd to have my earrings returned. They stated they sent them to my local *** and my *** in my town will notify me once delivered. I have called my local *** and nothing has been delivered. I have called Worthy four times and told the same thing. Though each call states they still have them. I am great full I had them examined before sending incase their are any cracks or chips. Though as of today 7/3/22 it has been 4 calls, 8 weeks and do not have my earrings. On 7/5/22 I am going to file a civil lawsuit. It is very unfortunate that this company is taking advantage of woman like myself who chose to sell her earrings to help pay for my sons education. I would never recommend this company and hope this can be resolved quickly in court

I sent Worthy two loose diamonds that were 1.35ct and 1.65ct before the covid-19 pandemic and they denied auctioning them because of the pandemic. When I recieved them back, my diamonds did not look like the ones I had sent, they looked too bright and had rainbow prisms reflecting off them and the ones I had sent did not look like that, they were like a darker looking reflecting like how a real diamon would look so I know these are not the ones I had sent. It also took them almost over a year for me to get them back so guess they had time to find a fake replacement to send me back. I would hope everyone would reconsider sending in their gems to this company because they are crooks! They will take your diamonds and deny them for auction and send you something else that isnt real and tell you that it isnt real so get your gems appraised or sold locally or some where trusting. Dont ever send your gems or jewelry anywhere because it really cant be proven so that means you would get screwed. Im kicking myself for sending mine because I wont ever see them again.

Their business executed flawlessly and with seemingly well-earned trustworthiness (I did hold my breath when I agreed to removal of the main diamond for grading) in the sale of an engagement ring which went for a seemingly quite decent $8000. I do think there is some puffery during initial discussions with the company while deciding to submit, which serves to dangle visions of loftier valuations possible than are likely, though the valuation estimate provided after grading seems conservative and the seller does solely control the reserve price. It =is= generous that there are absolutely no fees or charges if an item does not sell through their platform. I do wish more in-depth information was provided to the seller during the multi-day auction: I'd like to be able to see how many unique bidders there were (not just an indication of how many potential buyers had merely looked at the item, which is the only data shown) and seen a record of the successive bid amounts (perhaps identified by state/country) with some indication of which bidders had subsequently upped their bids.

I recently auctioned a "significant" diamond ring using Worthy
I recently auctioned a "significant" diamond ring using Worthy. Never having done anything like this before, I was naturally hesitant...mailing the ring safely, getting it certified (which was necessary) and then wondering how to go about selling it for a fair price. We were anxious about it. It was a family heirloom. We came across a review for Worthy and were very impressed. Their website is extremely easy to use and all of the outlined steps for shipping, certifying and selling, were easy and honestly, seemed too good to be true! I entered the information that I had on the ring and set up a call with Worthy. Rachel K took the call. She was amazing. She calmly answered all of our anxious questions and spent over 45 minutes on the phone with us. She encouraged us to reach out if we had ANY concerns or other questions and was always prompt to answer an email or call. Her associate Ornella B was also a tremendous help and we had no trouble connecting with either one of them. She mailed me the packing materials for the ring and kept me up to date every step of the way. The Auction was a seemless and easy experience and we sold our piece for a very nice price. They took care of every detail and I would certainly recommend Worthy to anyone who has a similar need to auction jewelry. Thank you Rachel and Ornella! You are the best! -

Very disappointed
Very disappointed. Typical online experience, they promise one thing and cannot deliver. I sent them a photo of my diamond Concord watch to sell and they said the value of it was between $2500 and $3200. I sent it to them and their gemologist review of the watch (in perfect condition) then gave me a value of $1200.00. If they had said that before, I wouldn't have sent it. The description of the watch for the online auction was very poor, nothing about the diamond quality or carat weight, just 18 carat gold. It didn't meet my reserve price, so I asked it to be sent back to me. The watch sat there for a week with nothing being done about returning it to me. I emailed 3 times with no response. In previous communications with them, they always said, "email us on anything and we will always respond". I finally called and they said, "we've been waiting to hear from you on where to deliver it to". I told her I emailed them 3 times with that information and she said, "oh, well, I don't have access to all email communication". It was finally sent back to me and the watch isn't working (it worked perfectly when I sent it). I've now emailed (again) asking them about what my recourse is if in fact the watch was damaged by them or in transit. Again, no response. Basically what I'm saying, is they're going to tell you what you want to hear in hopes of you sending your jewelry and you agreeing to sell it at whatever price. If you don't, then your concerns and their customer service go to the bottom of the paper pile.

About Worthy.com
One of the unique features of Worthy.com is their innovative auction system. When a seller decides to sell their item, it is sent to Worthy.com's headquarters where it undergoes a thorough evaluation by a team of expert appraisers. The appraisers then create a detailed description of the item and set a reserve price. The reserve price is the minimum price that the item can be sold for, and it is agreed upon by both the seller and Worthy.com.
Once the reserve price is set, the item is then put up for auction on Worthy.com's platform, and potential buyers are invited to bid on it. These bids are then kept confidential, and the highest bidder wins the auction. Once the auction is complete, Worthy.com notifies the seller and the buyer, and then facilitates the transaction.
In addition to their auction system, Worthy.com also offers a variety of other services, such as jewelry and diamond grading, appraisal and valuation services, and a free market value estimation tool. The platform also has a blog section that provides useful information on buying and selling jewelry, diamonds, and watches.
Overall, Worthy.com is a reliable and secure platform for buying and selling valuable items. Its innovative auction system, expert appraisers, and transparent process make it a preferred choice for anyone looking to sell their prized possessions.
