After a few weeks of trying to adjust to watching TV without Zap2it, I have come to the realization that their old full screen format was truly one of a kind. I have had to resort to using a combination of ontvtonight TV and Titan TV to try and fill the void left by Zap2it's absence.

While this combination is somewhat workable, it still falls short of the perfection that Zap2it offered. Each of these alternatives has its own strengths and weaknesses, but neither can fully replace the experience of using Zap2it's full screen TV listing format.

As many others have also pointed out, Zap2it was simply the best TV listing out there. Any change to their format was bound to be a change for the worse. I have even taken the time to email Zap2it to express my disappointment with their decision to change their format.

Have you also reached out to Zap2it to let them know how you feel? It's important to make our voices heard and let them know that their loyal users are not happy with the changes that have been made. Hopefully, they will take our feedback into consideration and bring back the beloved full screen format that we all know and love.

Zap2it, oh boy, where do I even begin? Sometimes it feels like they're trying to push away all of their users. I've been a loyal user for a while now, but there have been so many issues that I've had to deal with. And now, once again, they've gone and changed everything about the site, which means that both of my accounts are gone.

Honestly, zap2it, what are you trying to do? It seems like you've been trying to get rid of me for a long time, and now you've finally succeeded. Instead of making it so frustrating for users that they give up, why don't you just shut down the site altogether? It would be a lot more effective than constantly making changes that only serve to push people away.

It's clear that Zap2it no longer does anything it was meant to do. This is what happens when people who never watch TV design things for TV. For example, their DVR system has the "record all episodes" function, but it refuses to record something it already recorded in its existence. It's so annoying! When I asked why it wouldn't record it twice, they said, "Why would you want to record it twice?" Well, why would you want to keep me from recording it twice?

I've been using Zap2it for years now and it's always been the best and easiest to read TV listings site out there. But recently, they've changed their look and it's now exactly like TV Guide's website from several years ago. This was actually the reason I found Zap2it in the first place, as they didn't have cartoonish bubbles around every listing, which meant fewer listings per page and more information about each show or episode. I loved it and bookmarked it right away.

But now, they've suddenly become the thing I got away from. They've become the site that I left once I found a better one. It's very confusing and I'm not sure why they made this decision. It's like they had something good and they threw it away.

I gotta say, the classic TV listing webpage is still looking pretty fly. It even logged me in automatically with my old username and kept all my settings in check. And the best part? You can still get clickable drop down details on any show on the grid.

Now, I know some things aren't working quite right. For instance, trying to jump to another day or time from the links won't work. But hey, you can still click on the arrows to jump the grid forward or back. And while links to "This show on TV" or "This episode on TV" aren't there, you can always do a quick Google search to get the info you need.

As for the "My Faves" link? It doesn't work. But I found a nifty trick where you can add the show to your faves by clicking the button on the drop down info for a current show. Unfortunately, you can't manually delete any shows from "My Faves" this way.

Honestly, I really hope they take our feedback into account and get that old functionality back. Until then, I'm just gonna have to suffer through this new design.

Now, I've been using Zap2it since way back in the day, when it ran Cablevision's on-air channel-lineup. I remember seeing it there in the 90s and 2000s. And don't get me wrong, it's not like the site was never difficult to deal with before. They changed up the color scheme back in the early 2000s and I was pretty unimpressed, but this time it's much worse. I mean, it's like a deliberate and systematic destruction of all life on Arrakis (kudos if you get that reference). Maybe it's not that bad, but it sure feels like it.

The thing is, the old Zap2it was legit. It was easy on the eyes, the preferences were spot on, and you could group channels together. And the best part? It loaded lightning-fast. Now, it's just a mess. I miss the old days.

Luckily, I stumbled onto a link to Yahoo! TV's "powered by Zap2it" tv guide page and they're still doing it right. It's a lot like the old Zap2it, which is just fantastic.
