Terrible Experience with Zumiez: Cancelled Order, Missing Items, and Terrible Customer Service
This site was a major letdown for me. I had high hopes for my initial order, but it was cancelled without any notification. To make matters worse, they only sent me three out of the six items I had ordered. It's been two months since I placed that order and the three items that did arrive are nowhere to be found. The customer service is absolutely terrible. The people I spoke to were unhelpful and seemed to lack basic communication skills.
When the package finally arrived in Germany, it was returned to their warehouse because they had labelled the box incorrectly. This caused a further three weeks of delay. When they finally shipped the order with DHL express, I received a call from the post office saying that I needed to pay for the shipping, even though I had already been charged for it in my original payment.
The employees at Zumiez are nothing but thieves and they seem to lack basic education. The overall service is poor and it's only tolerable if you live in the US. Even then, you still have to deal with the issue of incompetent staff. I would not recommend this site to anyone.
Terrible Experience with Zumiez: Overcharged, Misled, and Disrespected
So, I had a pretty bad experience with Zumiez. I wanted to buy some pants for my kids, and I ordered on the Canadian side of the website. But then they tried to charge me in US dollars, which made the price go up from $98 to $115. And on top of that, they said I had to pay duty on a product being shipped from Canada to Canada. That didn't make any sense to me.
Plus, they advertised free shipping on orders over $49.99, but I ended up getting charged $28.00 for shipping. When I called to complain, the guy on the phone sounded really young, like he was only 12 years old. He blamed my router and my VPN for the problems I was having, and he even called me an "old Karen" when I asked for a refund.
But the worst part was when he hung up on me and started yelling in the background about how "old people are stupid" and how women like me "need a hard $#*!." I was shocked and disgusted by his language, and I don't think anyone should be talked to like that.
In the end, I did manage to get a refund from a different lady on the phone. But the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth, and I don't think I'll be shopping at Zumiez again anytime soon.
Disappointed with Zumiez Purchase: Received Used Shoes with Pink Lipstick Stains
So, I was browsing the internet and stumbled upon Zumiez. I decided to purchase a pair of Adidas from them because I really liked the look of them. However, when my package arrived, I was disappointed to see that the box was beat up. I opened it up and was shocked to see that my left shoe had pink lipstick or some other substance on the all-white laces. I was really upset about this because I didn't order used shoes.
To make matters worse, the left shoe was obviously worn in because the tongue was all scratched up and I had to clip some strands that were already coming out. It was less clean than the right shoe, which was a bummer. I just don't understand how someone could do that if they're a professional. The only good thing about this transaction was that I got my package on time.
I'm pretty bummed about my Zumiez purchase and it seems like too much of a hassle to try and get my money back. I wish I had just bought from inside the store. I highly recommend future shoppers to do so because you should get what you paid for. It's frustrating to receive used shoes when you paid for new ones.
Unpleasant Experience at Zumiez: Charged Wrong Amount and Accused of Theft
I recently visited Zumiez at Oak Park mall to purchase a hoodie. I went to the cashier to check out, but unfortunately, my card was rejected. I decided to pay a third of the amount in cash and the remaining amount on a visa gift card. While I was waiting for someone to come and pay for my purchase, the cashier asked me if I wanted my cash back. I declined the offer because I only owed seven more dollars.
When someone with money arrived, I went to pay, but to my surprise, they charged me forty-seven dollars instead of seven dollars. The cashier claimed that my payment was not taken from my visa card. I was confused because I knew that I had enough money on my card to cover the remaining balance. Upon further investigation, I realized that when I went to pay, they had taken all the money left on my card.
The manager, Gigi, came out to help me, but unfortunately, she told me the same thing. I was disappointed because I had to leave the store without the hoodie and no money left on my gift card. I decided to call their company to find out what went wrong. I stayed on the phone for an hour, and finally, I found out that they had taken my money and did not refund it back to my card.
To make matters worse, the manager accused my boyfriend of stealing from the store. She rudely asked him where the item was, even though he showed her his whole bag, and there was nothing in it. It was an unpleasant experience, and I hope that they can improve their customer service in the future.
Zumiez Review: Amazing Checkerboard Vans & Super Fast Shipping!
I'm just a regular Mom, nothing special about me. But I have a very brave 14-year-old daughter who came out this year. It hasn't been easy for her at school. The lunch table was empty the first week she told her girlfriends. But things are getting better now. And here's where Zumiez comes in. For Christmas, all she wants is a pair of hi-top checkerboard Vans. And guess what? I found them on the Zumiez website! They have the most awesome "checkerboard patch" hi-tops at a good price. And when they arrived, I was blown away. The shipping was SUPER FAST! I ordered on Tuesday morning and they arrived by Friday morning. And the shoes are even more well-made and incredible than I could have imagined! That "patch" is actually embroidered, with suede and leather accents on the shoe, for less than $80! What an AWESOME BUY!
And let me tell you about the shipping from Zumiez. Not only was it super fast, but the package was perfectly packaged! The Vans came in a branded shopping bag, along with the receipt and a Holiday catalog. And now that I see the other brands they carry, I know that not just my daughter, but also my 20-year-old son will LOVE them!
But that's not all. When I called customer service at Zumiez, they were AMAZING! They were so helpful and friendly, and they really went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my purchase.
I'm just a regular Mom, working hard for my money. But Zumiez has definitely earned a spot at the top of my list of great companies that are WORTHY of my hard-earned dollar!
Poor Customer Service and Packaging: My Experience with Zumiez Online Orders
I recently ordered a pair of Broken Promises roller skates from Zumiez, and unfortunately, my experience was not the best. When the package arrived, I was disappointed to find that I had been sent two left feet. To make matters worse, the box was extremely poorly packaged and arrived mangled. I tried to contact customer service for an entire hour, but unfortunately, there was no answer. It was frustrating to say the least, and it felt like their customer service was nonexistent.
Eventually, I decided to call my local Zumiez store for help. Thankfully, the staff there were very helpful and were able to assist me in getting a new pair of skates. However, the design I wanted was completely sold out, which was a huge disappointment, especially considering the price I had paid. I just want to warn others about my experience so that they don't have to go through the same hassle. As someone who doesn't have a vehicle, I had to take expensive Lyfts down to Zumiez, which only added to the frustration.
In my opinion, it's best to go into a Zumiez store if there's one near you. The staff there are helpful, and you can try things on to make sure they're properly made and packaged. Unfortunately, my experience with their online service was the worst customer service I have ever received. As you can see in the photos, only one skate had a bag around it, and they threw in a million stickers, which made me think they knew something was wrong with my order.
Overall, this was supposed to be a Christmas present to myself, and it's disappointing that it had to turn out this way. However, I do want to give a shoutout to Luka, the manager at the Arden Fair store, who was very helpful in resolving the issue.

However, I will say that the customer service at Zumiez was good. When I decided to return the shirt, they took it back without any questions and swapped it for a different size. I was happy with how easy the return process was, and the new cashier even agreed with me about the shrinkage issue.
Overall, if you're into the skater/stoner vibe and don't mind paying a premium for it, you'll probably find something you like at Zumiez. I recently made a purchase from Zumiez on July 18th. I was excited to receive my flannel shirt and sweatpants, especially since it was a 'buy one product get another half off' deal. The sweatpants arrived a few days later, but unfortunately, there was a tear along the seam of the left leg. I had to go through the hassle of exchanging them, but eventually, I received a new pair in the mail. However, my complaint is not about the sweatpants.
My flannel shirt never arrived, and I waited for 20 days before contacting customer service. The representative I spoke to explained that my shirt was never picked up from the Zumiez warehouse in Denver, Colorado, even though I live in British Columbia. She apologized and promised to put in a new order for me, free of charge. Finally, on August 11th, my shirt arrived, and I was happy with it.
But then, on August 16th, another delivery truck showed up at my house with another shirt. This time, the driver was expecting shipping and handling fees, which I found odd since I hadn't ordered anything else. I accepted the package and paid the customs fee, only to find out that it was another shirt identical to the one I had received days before. According to the receipts from Zumiez and the freight company, DHL Express, I had been charged for two shirts, one of which I never ordered.
I contacted Zumiez reps over the phone and email, and after going back and forth, I was able to get the second shirt refunded, except for the shipping fees. Zumiez claimed that they were not responsible for their mistake of overcharging me for two items and that I would have to take it up with DHL Express. I am very annoyed with Zumiez right now, and I don't think I will be shopping here again.
The sales rep I spoke to was Dani, but I don't think they can be held accountable for this mess. It's a problem with Zumiez's poor customer service in general, and I hope they can improve in the future.
Zumiez Sold My Personal Information: A Disappointing Experience

I was shocked and angry, thinking, "OMG Zumiez sold me out! They instantly sold my info!" I've had the same phone number for the last 20 years and never had a problem until that day.
I paid around $130 for one pair of sweatpants with a matching hoodie, and now Zumiez sells my personal information? Why do they do that? Don't they make enough money from their prices? I want a response from them explaining why they disclose and expose their customers like that. I run a business that depends on calls and texts from my clients, and now I get approximately 20-30 scam calls and 40-80 texts daily from scammers. It's affecting my life and business, and I have to go through all the unwanted calls and texts instead of being able to focus on my clients' messages. I even received a text that said "Fu_k like a porn star. Grow 2 inches in 2 weeks!" It's disgusting and unacceptable.
I'm so disappointed that a company I've been loyal to for over 20 years has zero respect or appreciation for their customers. This is how they thank me for my loyalty? They're just as bad as the scammers. I'm a hairstylist and talk to a lot of people, and I'm 100% positive I can spread the word about Zumiez's low morals. I refuse to support a business that treats its customers this way. I might even picket in front of their store or contact my attorneys. Disappointing Experience with Zumiez and PayPal: Unhelpful Customer Support and Missing Refunds
I recently made a purchase on Zumiez.com for 3 Reflex Multi Skate Tools on 4/9/2016. I was excited to receive my order and was notified on 4/10/2016 that one of my items had been shipped. However, on 4/11/2016, I received an email stating that one of the items was out of stock and had been canceled from my order. I was disappointed, but I understood that these things happen.
On 4/15/2016, I contacted Zumiez customer support via phone call to inquire about my refund of $32.41 for the two canceled items and to ask why my other item had not been shipped. The customer support representative informed me that the reason for the cancelation was due to the item being out of stock in grey and that they only had it available in pink. I expressed my dissatisfaction with receiving a pink item and was assured that my refund would be reissued and my item would be sent out in next day shipping.
Unfortunately, on 4/22/2016, I had to contact Zumiez customer support again as I still had not received my $32.41 refund and the Reflex Ital-Tool Skateboard Tool that was sent to me was not grey as ordered, but pink. I informed them that I would keep the pink item, but I was unhappy with the situation. Additionally, I had not received the full refund amount as only $16.20 had been refunded to me. I had to open a dispute with PayPal as I had not received a refund for two of the three items ordered.
I explained the situation clearly to customer support, but I was met with confusion and unhelpfulness. PayPal informed me that they were unable to reverse the transaction or issue a refund as their claims process only applies to the shipment of goods and not to complaints about the attributes or quality of goods received. This was frustrating as I had never received the item and simply wanted a refund for the amount owed to me.
Despite contacting Zumiez once again on 4/22 about the remaining $16.21 refund via phone, I still have not received it. While I appreciate the apologetic email from Willow Hayes, it has been 8 days and I have yet to see the refund reflected on my statement.

I placed an order with this company for two diamond dot kits and some accessories. I have never received the order. I followed up with them via email, and they responded with a tracking number that is invalid - continue to say my order is on it's way. It has been over two months, and I have received nothing. I asked for a refund, and I have never received a refund, either.
I placed an order with this company back in April. I STILL have not received all my items. The company said if I did not receive my items by June *** that they would refund me “in full”. When I emailed them to tell them I didn’t receive my items and want my refund they told me they could only refund me a portion of it. Not the full amount like they previously stated in an email to me less than a month ago.
I received my items but they DO NOT work. I notified said business & asked for a return label & a credit to my Acct. They said I could send said items back to them for a credit. I was pretty upset about it, so I decided to send them back and get a different pair of Adidas shoes that were the same price.
When the new shoes arrived, I was really excited to try them on. But when I did, I realized that the shoe sizes didn't even match! One shoe was a size 10, and the other was an 8.5. I couldn't believe it! I had wasted so much time dealing with this, and I was really frustrated. I decided to just get a refund and take my business somewhere else.
Overall, I would not recommend ordering shoes from Zumiez. They seem to have some serious issues with quality control and making sure that they send out shoes that actually match in size and condition. If you're thinking about buying shoes from them, I would suggest saving your money and time and going somewhere more reputable and reliable.
Terrible Experience with Zumiez: Late Delivery, Sold Out Items, and Shady Business Practices
I recently ordered from Zumiez all the way from Germany, and let me tell you, it was not a smooth experience. I placed my order in July of 2020, and a month later, I received an email saying that one of the items I ordered was sold out. I was so confused and frustrated, and when I asked them how this could happen, they just told me that the other items in my cart were still available. I was not happy with this response, and I told them that their service was terrible. They didn't even offer to refund me for the item that was sold out, which was really disappointing.
To make matters worse, it took them two months to finally send my package, which cost $49.95 with an additional $8 for shipping. When I received a message from DHL saying that I had to pay 21.40 euros in taxes, I was beyond annoyed. Apparently, Zumiez had sent the package as an express delivery, which I did not ask for or agree to. It was just another example of their shady business practices.
I urge you not to fall for their 50% off or buy one get one free deals. They are not worth it, and Zumiez takes their sweet time getting back to you. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with my experience with this company, and I would not recommend them to anyone.
Disappointing Customer Service Experience with Zumiez.com
I recently had an experience with Zumiez.com that left me feeling quite frustrated. I was trying to order a pair of jeans for my son, but when I tried to complete the transaction, the website gave me an error message and instructed me to call a customer service number.
When I called the number, I was informed that the customer service representatives were working from home and were unable to process orders over the phone. This seemed like a strange limitation for a large company like Zumiez, but I was willing to work with them to resolve the issue.
However, the representative then told me that the security on the website had been "enhanced" and suggested that I try clearing my browsing history, turning off auto fill, using different devices, and even changing how I wrote my address. I couldn't believe it - was I really expected to troubleshoot and play games with the website just to order a pair of pants?
I found this whole situation to be completely unacceptable. If Zumiez is a big company, why wouldn't their employees working from home have the resources to make sales? It seemed like a backwards way of doing things. And when I asked what I should do if the suggested solutions didn't work, the representative told me to drive to the nearest store - which was an hour away!
Overall, I was really disappointed with my experience with Zumiez.com. I understand that things can be difficult when working from home, but I feel like there should be better solutions in place for a company of this size. I hope that Zumiez can work to improve their customer service and make the online shopping experience more user-friendly in the future.
Pooler ga zumies will not take certain banks debit cards
The tirsday before christmas my husband and I decided to go do some last minute shopping for the kids and stopped in the Zumies store in Pooler GA at the tanger mall. First off getting the girl from behind the register (who had no customers) to come out and talk to us was a chore. Eventually we accumulated a pile of merchandise to buy for our son, imagine our surprise when out card kept getting declined. I was shocked, checked our bank everything was fine. Then the girl said "who do you bank with, is it Ameris?" First off where I bank is none of a teenager who works at zumies business. I told her yes and she said "oh ya.. for some reason just our store won't take Ameris bank" then the guy behind the register next to her said "ya, we called them and they said we don't bank with them so they refused to help. Their a lame bank anyway" my husband got iritard and said fine we won't shop there. I asked for a manager and the lady said she was the manager. I said "you're telling me you are the store manager and this is what you tell paying customers " she explained she isn't the store manager , just a manager who was on duty that day. She said she had told her area manager ans store manager and they both don't care. Then said she would give me a discount if I would just leave and come back with cash. She still wanted the sale but could I leave to get cash or use another bank card. Completely ridiculous. I spoke to a friend also about this and she has experienced the same thing at this store. Sad Zumies is loosing money due to Staff not handling issues correctly. I will never shop here again. Embarrassing, rude, Staff could care less about their customers. PS zumies Staff with no customers, there is no store. 7 customers gone feom this family now

5/1/2022 - Zumiez in the Westfield Montgomery Mall in Maryland. Even with a receipt and the credit card to which the sale was charged, I was required to provide my driver's license (with my address, birth date, license #), email, and phone number for entry into their system. The sales woman had no reason other than saying, it's required - even though NOTHING on the receipt indicated I would be required to give all my personal information, including my driver's license, to return an item when I have the receipt and credit card. The receipt only indicates that I must have the receipt. When I asked them how my personal information from my driver's license was protected in their POS, she just laughed and kept going. When I was almost out of the store, and not realizing I was with someone else, they started laughing at me in front of the other customers, after which the person I was with yelled at them to cut it out.
Desired outcome: No more taking personal information, requiring your driver's license, email, and telephone to return items if you have a receipt and the credit card.
Terrible manager
I have been a customer of the Hamilton Town Center Zumiez (Noblesville, IN) for many years, enjoy the clothes and often visit the store. In the past several months I have noticed that every time I have visited this specific store the manager (his first name is Joba, last name Jackson I think) has aggressively berated his young teenage employees for some minor issue in full view of very uncomfortable customers. A couple times this resulted in customers (myself included) actually walking out of the store.
The last time I saw this (just this past week) I witnessed said manager yelling at a young girl employee resulting in tears, and then he walked up to the other girl employee and openly mocked the crying girl right in front of her. That was the last straw. I don't think I can stomach visiting this store anymore if this is the type of culture that is fostered. I don't know about the other stores, but the culture in this particular store is sickening. I feel awful for anyone who has to work with someone who is so clearly a bully to impressionable young employees. Please do something about this.
Desired outcome: please fire terrible manager who bullies kids

I went in to Zumiez with my 70 year old mother and an employee of the store who would NOT release his name came up speaking super loudly so I asked if he could not yell. He immediately became aggressive and and relentless in furthering this conversation with me, refusing to complete a simple return until he confronted me! It's like just do your job dude! He was speaking to me so aggressively I genuinely thought the man was seconds away from a physical altercation. As my mother and I both just pleases for him to finish the transaction he refused until I left the store... which felt unsafe to be honest. I have many friends who work with in Zumiez corporate and have agreed this behavior is not acceptable. As he refused to release his name I took a photo after which he told me was illegal? lol. So after he finally finished the return and we were going to leave he FOLLOWED my mother out of the store to ask me if I "had any beef with him" like what? Was he trying to accomplish? Absolutely abhorrent behavior. Will NEVER go back to this store. I've included a photo since he wouldn't give up his name.

I was at the Zumiez at the Simon mall in rockingham new Hampshire getting my griptape applied. Once the procedure was finished. I saw that there was a big ring of green (the color of the top of my deck) around the griptape. Seeing that the griptape was a sunset color, it was very obvious. wrongful/ harmful workplace
I was the store manager at carolina place mall in charlotte nc. For almost 10 months. I was not only wrongfully fired march of 2019. I was never trained for my position (but still able to start the year making my store number 1 in our district and keeping it a solid 2nd or 3rd for the duration of the time), punched in the face over merchandise several times (submitted incident reports that were never handled) and the entire district is a joke (considering the fact that the new dm is an older store manager who placed all of his managers throughout the stores in the district, which was expected after he was promoted). I felt as through I was wrongfully fired considering the fact that I honestly don't understand entirely why I was fired in the first place. I asked multiple times to be retrained and given the equal opportunity to succeed just like any other manager should be. Instead, to resolve the problem of my superiors not having to do so, the district manager and regional manager decided to promote a second assistant from the dms old store (who had only been with the company for about 6 months prior to receiving the store managers position) and letting me go. I was never treated fairly or given the support to go far with the company because of the team I was given. As a company, I loved working for zumiez. I had met the owner and a lot of the vendors which, for them, I stood with the company because I cared about the product and their upcoming. I genuinely am dissatisfied and not happy with the entire nc/sc division and it has refrained me from stepping foot into the stores in nc and sc again. Several times, I had found weapons in my old store and received abuse from clients and the employers did absolutely nothing about it. I called hr immediately after I was let go and left a message but heard no response which made me lose hope in ever getting the justice from which any zumiez employee should be entitled to especially in the district I was in. I have several incident reports from which were not handled at all correctly, which allows me to continue to fight for my justice until I feel as though something is resolved. Zumiez nc/ sc district can care less about their employees especially because the perception I have of the district is based off lies, favoritism and racism. If anyone cares at all to know what I was fired for, it was because customers stole constantly (due to lack of cameras in stores), I would use our security as advised and customers called me a "racist white [censored]" for it. I have seen racist zumiez employees in action. A shoplifter can be anyone of any race. I am a hispanic female with fair skin, green eyes and curly hair that doesn't make me racist or not racist. It makes me human. The company fired me so they wouldn't have to deal with the "negative comments" about racism because the company themselves thought I was caucasian. It wasn't until I addressed the regional manager about the situation and told him I was not white (after my superiors assuming I was and saying that "they" get customers like that all the time because of the industry we are in). I felt as though that, that was inaccurate so I had asked them to help me several times because I was tired, myself, of racial profiling from both parties (the customers and the company). Instead of support I was neglected and fired because they didn't care for what's right, just for what kept zumiez under the radar from those who are actually getting away with being racist. I have a lot more to say but I will leave that for the press. I have plenty of evidence, screen shots, pictures of accurate police reports and incident reports along with witnesses based on the fact that the work environment I was in was unhealthy, unsafe and unbearable because I was living in fear everyday at work and no one from zumiez inc. Was willing to help. I hope this helps someone face their fears and not stay quiet like I had been for month.
terrible customer service
i was accused of stealing a back pack because i had it in my hands when i went to a dressing room to try on clothes. i was told not to take it in so i gave it to the guy, and then came out and was asked if i was trying to steal the bag. i said no and he kept accusing me. it was on april 25, 2019. He had blonde hair and it was later in the day. He was very rude. Not good customer service at all.
