I live up north. This morning, a family arrived, having driven a long way, after seeing my home falsely listed for rent.
I reside in the northern region. Today, a family appeared at my doorstep, having traveled from afar, under the impression that my home was listed for rent on a website. They had even paid an application fee to someone prior to viewing the house. In reality, my house is on the market for sale exclusively through Zillow. This family was understandably distressed when I informed them they had fallen victim to a scam. Apparently, the app they used was compromised by fraudsters who exploited it to deceive prospective tenants.

Extreme Scetchy
Extreme Scetchy . I had almost lost money on two occasions due to people re renting properties illegally just so they can collect fake backroud check money and deposits, down payments. its ridiculous that this site does not remove ALREADY RENTED HOMES, Why? what's the deal are they trying to help out the SCAMMERS on here? I went back to Realtor .com for security purposes. Zumper not a safe site to use the rents and deposits are you high now to risk it on this site.

Got scammed on this app. Please be careful using this app because there are a lot of them out there. I will never be using this website ever again. Honestly wish I could leave no stars...
I discovered by accident this company has fraudulently list my home for rent or lease. I am furious. This is my home and it is not for rent. These are obviously scammers!?
This app is full of scammers. I found a listing for a decent house for $925 per month, got in contact with the poster and setup a tour date. I then decided to look up the address on other sites and found that the home was owned by *** and listed for nearly twice that amount. Absolute scum. Zumper has no screening process obviously. Do not trust anything on their site or app.
Hi, I was just scammed by these people, I put my deposit they gave me a lease went to the property to change locks they never sent the payment
Hi, I was just scammed by these people, I put my deposit they gave me a lease went to the property to change locks they never sent the payment to the locksmith so he couldnt do the work, I have been talking to a *** as he say, now he wont answer but keep texting me saying he gonna sent my money back and havent yet, this is very disrespectful that they can do this to people and especially people who dont have money to throw away. So please people be careful. Im very upset.

This site doesnt deserve any stars whatsoever! SCAMMERS! Please delete this app if you have it! More importantly do not send any money to anyone that you have not seen or cant show their faces. Any potential landlord want to see a potential renters face, Period! Please beware! Good luck and God Bless on your search for a new place.
This company is posting houses for rent lower than theyre actually for rent so they dont actually have the house for rent somebody else does and theyre scamming people to get their money. The house is that I have saw have been in *** most of them are $1000 cheaper than what they truly are.
These people ask for your ID and to take a picture of you and ask for money ahead of actually renting a house or apartment. I have seen several apartments that have been taken down due to scam. NO STARS
There are someone using the site to steal money from people looking for a place to rent. I have his number
The majority of the listings are scams
The majority of the listings are scams. They take homes for sale and claim that they are for rent for unrealistically low amounts (i.e. 4 bed 3 bath ***+ Sq ft in a nice area for rent $1400 a month). I received an email from Zumper with several listings they claimed were for rent for suspiciously low amounts. I decided to double-check the listings. Turns out every single listing was listed for SALE (not rent) on Zillow and Realtor. So I think they're taking sale listings from legit websites and stating they're for rent for an insanely low price in order to scam people out of money.
They have so many scammers on this site please beware of this site don't send anyone money please I was scammed once on this site and they are still trying to scam me right now as I am writing this it is so crazy please be *** renters cause this site is very dangerous
I was scammed recently out of $3080 and was told I couldn't get my money back. I went thru the app/website to do all my communication and yet somehow scammers got my info smh robbed me. This is the worse site I've ever used
Totally a scam sent a message got a call right away, asked me to send email address through a text then kept calling to ask if I filled out
Totally a scam sent a message got a call right away, asked me to send email address through a text then kept calling to ask if I filled out information, then got a call saying I need to hurry because other people are already submitting paperwork, I decided to look into site and type address in on *** before clicking link he emailed me and found property has been on zillow, redfin, and 3 other realtor sites for 749 days for ***, I did not fill out the info. As hard as it is to get approved for a rental these scammers are doing everything they can to take someone's money during these hard times.

Has **** written all over it
Has *** written all over it. I was interested in a property and someone had reached out to me in regards to this property emailing and texting me information. I had sent $1400 to Toni M Gross phone number *** at gmail.com and Mnts261 at gmail.com. he also sent multiple numbers to send the money too. I have reported on every level possible and hoping that someone can help get my money back. Unfortunately I am in a rush to find a house as my lease is up and i will be homeless with my son so i didnt think that zumper being owned by zillow would allow something to happen like this.

I went on zumper but the information about housing vouchers
I went on zumper but the information about housing vouchers. They proceeded to take me to other states not the city that I asked for. They also proceeded to send me to properties that did not take my housing voucher. When I reported this to ***. She proceeded to tell me that it wasn't up to her or her company to approve me for a home. And I told her no it's up to your company to provide the correct information to take us to the places we have requested of your company. Zumper is listed as a web site that helps disabled section 8 and housing voucher holders like me, to help them find a home. They fail to help.
Residential Property Management Company Soniat Realty, Inc
Residential Property Management Company Soniat Realty, Inc. does not recommend Zumper. After signing up to receive the services of Zumper integrating with Rent Manager and receiving verifiable leads we were billed for leads that were not good leads. On most leads received they were the same person that would request more information on all of our listings with no good contact information or no response from the person with contact information given. 90% of the Zillow leads we received responded. This company is trying to collect from us after our complaint. We would have continued with the service if the leads were not bogus.

Paying $19 'boost fee' promised my rental listing would feature on a popular marketplace
They advertised if I pay them $19 'boost fee' my single family rental listing would appear on a popular marketplace. It is now 20 days later and no listing for my rental. Emailed a status request and got the following: 'The platform ultimately controls whether or not your listing will display in Marketplace in any given market at any given time. Right now we are both still conducting tests regarding the best way to display properties from Zumper, so there is a chance that your account view may be affected. Please let us know if you have any further questions!' I wish I would have checked here first. Save your money. Al, Colorado Springs
I was SCAMMED!
I was SCAMMED! Was promised a apartment. I paid my security deposit to *** through *** (the broker) and a woman by the name of ***. Was supposed to see the apartment in person and never got a response because the brokers phone was broken. Then I realized I was being messaged through a text now number and that the information that was posted up about the apartment, WAS FAKE! The same apartment was listed for $300 more than what was on Zumper. My hard earned money is gone and now I have to work twice as hard to save AGAIN! I feel cheated and I desperately NEED my money back. DO NOT USE ZUMPER! DO NOT EVER USE ZUMPER!

I live in California and someone used my contact information, cell number and email address to create an account to advertise rental listings in Florida. I never opened or "validated" this account. One person told me they found my contact information on facebook on a Zumper advertisement. I have received over 200 emails from zumper "leads" and almost 20 calls the first day alone. I tried calling the phone number listed on this Complaintsboard.com website but it is not a valid number. I emailed them through their website and they promptly deleted the fraudulent account. Although I was frustrated and disappointed that I never confirmed my email in order to receive all of the emails and phone calls in the first place, I am giving them a neutral rating because I appreciate their responsiveness to my email.
VERY INVASIVE website - I haven't gotten as far as publishing my rental
VERY INVASIVE website - I haven't gotten as far as publishing my rental. After entering all my personal data (name, email, phone number), plus all the data of the rental property, Zumper verified them, but it wasn't enough.I've received an email that they will not publish my listing unless I submit a photo of a personal ID (like drivers licence, passport etc.), through a third party website, and they gave me three days to do this. I found this mildly annoying and slightly intrusive, but I decided to do it. Once, the third party site captured a photo of my ID, it prompted me to face the camera, from different angles for a biometric photo of me, which they will store in their system. That was it! I think they are going way too far, it is a complete invasion of privacy! Absolutely ridicules! Zillow does not do anything like this, I have an account with them for years. I guess I will just stick with them and keep recommending them instead of Zumper. God knows why they collect all this and who they sell it too.

They are a scam
They are a scam. I saw a property on *** and I contacted the owner. I met with the owner and view the property. The owner sent me a request that I go on a website called Zumper to provide her with my credit check and my background check. I went on to Zumper and I created an account I put all my information in. I paid for a credit check as well as background check. I sent the information to the homeowner. However when I went back to Zumper to view my documents not only will it not let me log back into my account but if I change my password I will lose all access to the background check and the credit check that I paid for. I have contacted number multiple times and all I get back into response is that somebody will contact me and then another person emails me saying the same thing I got three emails yesterday and yet still no conclusion. Ask consumer if I pay for my personal documents they have no right to deny me access to it and then tell me I would lose my data because I can't reset a password that shouldn't have to be resend the first place plus there's no way to contact this company at all they are a scam.

I signed up with Zumper as a property manager to explore the platform versus the software I am currently using
I signed up with Zumper as a property manager to explore the platform versus the software I am currently using. I realized pretty quickly it was not a good fit for me and never actually implemented switching to Zumper. For the last 6 months I have been getting random charges monthly withdrawn out of my business bank account by Zumpers merchant processor. The fees are increasing every month. They started at $15 and have now escalated to $163.95 for the month of August. To repeat, I have am not using Zumper and never actually implemented using it. Zumper customer support responds on a 2-3 week delay with boiler plate responses. They have acknowledged my issue and that I am not alone in experiencing this however it hasn't stopped and no resolution from them has occurred. They provided a *** form for a refund which I completed but it says they can only pay it if I sign up for their new merchant processor...Yikes! I even deleted my Zumper account months ago (trying to stop the issue) and still was being charged. Each reply takes 2-3 weeks meanwhile I keep getting charged. Not even sure what recourse I can take at this point. It's really bad. I never write negative reviews or complain about companies but this is fraudulent activity.

I found a rental on zumper.com on 7/24/2022. I filled out the application and paid their application fee. Once I did that, someone contacted me about the property. They were pressuring me to pay them more money. They said the money was for half the security deposit. They said it would allow for them to get the lease together before meeting to view the property. They asked me to send it by Zelle, Cash App, or Apple Pay. I found the same property on another website for $750 more. I found a second location with the same issue as well.
Rental property fake and it's a scam. Paid application fee, deposit and 1st month rent.
fake site that scams people. they steal photos from zillow and list a low rental price. they emailed the potential renters and tell them "it's ok to just come in and look around" for a tour. people showed up to my house that is on the market for sale AND CAME INSIDE MY HOUSE WHILE I'M STILL LIVING HERE. My girlfriend was home at the time and it scared the h*** out of her. This could have caused a major legal issue.
My husband and I are looking for a single family home
My husband and I are looking for a single family home. We found Zumper Listings on *** and they seem to have beautiful properties. I reached out for a tour of multiple properties multiple times and always get an email stating this property has suspicious activity and to refrain from further contact. Where I have a issue is, it's every single property. I decided to ride by one of the properties listed and there is someone living at this home, no for rent sign but listed as a new listing with move in date 9/1. They shouldn't be able to run a site that is basically a hoax.

Zumper helps landlords find tenants
Zumper helps landlords find tenants. They also have a "free service" where they enable tenants to pay landlords without any fees for either party. I have used this service for more than a year. However back in May they started charging my account. I repeatedly emailed trying to resolve the problem without any response. Four months in a row they charged me differing amounts. I finally found a form to fill out, evidently I am not the only one with this problem. I have filled out the forms several times without any response. Attached are bank statements showing their debit charges--it says "deposit merchant bankcard".

After making an account and posting my home for rent zumper disabled my account
After making an account and posting my home for rent zumper disabled my account . They requested personal documentation proving ownership. When I provided ownership they reactivated the account, after I start getting leads and begin to reply they disable my account again. This continues to happen multiple times, until they finally stop replying to my emails. I have reached out numerous times and they no longer reply. This platform has given me a horrible experience I don't know why they collect personal documents and then disable accounts without any explanation as to why besides "there were some malicious indicators" .

Years ago, I advertised a home on Zumper, now there's an old re-activated listing causing calls.
Apparently, years ago I placed an ad on Zumper advertising a home. The listing was recently re-activated, although not by us, and we are getting phone calls and texts about the property. Zumper shows the ad as over five days old. I want to edit and then delete the ad, but I am unable to do so. The listing does not appear under my account. I have tried to contact Zumper but their number is no longer in service. I have emailed them asking for assistance to edit and delete the property. They replied instructing me to sign in and edit the property, but when I sign in, the property does not appear under my account. I need to be able to edit and then remove this ad.

We set up an account with Zumper
We set up an account with Zumper. With the hope that it would be a seemless software solution to help us with managing our tenant for renting my house. It has been a nightmare. The do not have any customer service support. We got an email stating that our account needed finalizing. We have set up all that we could. They placed 2 pending charges on our tenants bank account. We have tried to contact Zumper on this issue. They will only communicate via email. And that has been basically non existent. Weve received 3 emails from them over 4 days. We or our tenant cant get our money back to even go to a different company because they wont respond or even acknowledge our persist attempts to have an open line of communication.

This is the THIRD filing to ComplaintsBoard.com regarding Zumper
This is the THIRD filing to Complaintsboard.com regarding Zumper. As stated in previous complaints, Zumper wrongly charged my account and has yet to make a good faith attempt to respond by phone to clear up the matter. Instead, I get half-hearted attempts with no follow up from Zumper. This is now going on 5 months with not a single person calling me to refund the monies taken from my business.Below is the original complaint that still holds true to date:Zumper has wrongly charged my account for 4 months for services that I never asked for. When trying to contact them to cancel, it was met with many transfer and no reply to emails and phone calls. I have called and left messages multiple times a day along with filed on their website to have the fees reversed with no response. This has been going on for close to a month.

We are a company that manages rentals
We are a company that manages rentals. Zumper pulls our listings and advertises our rental properties on their site. A couple months ago, I had a person who had inquired on one of our properties with Zumper tell me Zumper had scheduled a viewing of the property with them. They are not authorized to handle such appointments for us. Most recently we had a call from someone checking on their 'application' for one of our properties. They said they had submitted the application through Zumper's website. I contacted Zumper when I had the first person tell me an appointment had been scheduled for them. Their response was that they could not change that at this time, their system automatically set appointments. We are not affiliated with this site nor do we have any contract with them to represent us in renting our properties.

I paid Zumper $60 for an application and background check for myself and my co-applicant
I paid Zumper $60 for an application and background check for myself and my co-applicant. They advertised 1 fee for 30 days of unlimited listings and guaranteed responses. I've only received fraudulent responses and replies from landlords telling me I have to pay their application and background fees as well! I have gotten absolutely nowhere and most of their listings aren't even legit! They won't resolve my refund requests via email either. I'm being evicted today and that $60 could have paid for a hotel seeing as how I have no place to go bc I'm being scammed every where I turn. Also, I can't even access my reports anymore on their site via my dashboard!? I was able to view what I paid for once and then it was gone. The same thing happened to my co-applicant. I just want my money back. These people should be ashamed of themselves.

I posted an ad on Zumper last year
I posted an ad on Zumper last year. My name, address, and phone number are still showing up on *** searches. I have asked 6 times for them to please remove my information and have requested to speak with a manager. They replied that they are not able to remove information and that it is up to ***. However, when I submitted a *** request, it was denied because the business needed to remove my information. Zumper says they have, but my private information is still showing. This is a violation of my privacy and they have failed to address the issue or allow me to speak to someone who can. Though they blame ***, there is no other website where this has ever been an issue. They are at fault for not protecting my personal information and failing to remove it when asked. I am requesting they remove my personal information from their site so that it does not appear in *** searches.

I signed up with Zumper in the fall of 2020 as a landlord
I signed up with Zumper in the fall of 2020 as a landlord. They offered a free service for using ACH fund transfers. While I never actually used them for rent payments, there was never a charge. I began noticing charges in Feb and, independently, on Apr 30, 2021, Zumper sent an email explaining the charges we may have incurred from the 3rd party money processor (Cardpointe) that Zumper was partnered with; Zumper was previously absorbing the costs. The email stated they would reimburse us for those charges and all I had to do was fill out some simple forms (their website currently says this: https://help.zumper.com/hc/en-us/articles/1260804858490-How-do-I-submit-a-reimbursement-requests-for-charges-incurred-). I filled out the forms. However, I'm still being charged by the 3rd party processor and Zumper is not responding to any communication. I've sent 10 emails, left 2 phone messages, and sent a message through *** Messenger.

I have recently been part targeted as part of what seems to be a large-scale scam involving the housing site zumper
I have recently been part targeted as part of what seems to be a large-scale scam involving the housing site zumper. My name, work email address, and work number were used to create an account on zumper.com to post "available" rental properties, linking my name and work phone number to unsuspecting people interested in the posted rentals. This has happened to at least three other colleagues (and appears to be quite prevalent, according to an internet search), suggesting that this is not an isolated event. While my situation was cleared within a day after multiple attempts to contact the company, I have no clue how many people inquiring about the posted rentals were financially affected by this scam. It is critical that zumper take some measures to prevent this from happening going forward. My direct complaints concerning this incident are as follows:1) It appears that zumper does not vet the people creating accounts on their site, or the actual addresses posted by those accounts. This is clearly harmful to not only individuals inquiring about the properties, but apparently to anyone who has an email account and phone number. 2) It was extremely difficult to contact zumper when this did happen. The company has no available phone number to call directly to immediately shut down a scam operation, leading to delayed action, which greatly increases the potential harm done by this scam.

I am a landlord and also a Realtor
I am a landlord and also a Realtor. I posted a rental listing in the *** MLS that I am handling for a client in ***, ***. The rental market is so tight that I have had dozens of people calling me. I decided to use Zumper to screen the prospects, and I posted the listing in Zumper using an account that I use only for my clients' listings. Two hours after I posted my client's listing, my account was deleted (or blocked) by Zumper. Thinking that it was simply a technical fluke, I re-posted my client's listing using my own landlord account, and within an hour, it was blocked or delete too. I have written at least eight times to Zumper support for help, and they simply ignore my requests. This is the reason why I call them a terrible company. My client is angry at me for the delays in sending her screened applicants. The prospective tenants are angry at me because they aren't getting the emails from Zumper, and I am angry with Zumper because of their unprofessionalism. Realtors are professionals. Zumper is making me look very unprofessional and it's costing me business. These are the request numbers that Zumper sent automatically: *** and ***. Zumper never followed up nor replied to any of my emails. It is a shame that Zumper does not provide a customer service telephone number to help real estate agents. We bring business to this company. My complaint is that Zumper deleted my two accounts without reason and without due process and it is costing me business and causing me reputational damage.

Zumper is using our logo, agent photo and other personally identifying information for use on its website that is clearly advertising apartments
Zumper is using our logo, agent photo and other personally identifying information for use on its website that is clearly advertising apartments that are falsely priced and have used our information to entice people into filling out an application that requires a fee. We are receiving numerous calls from this business that is routing customer phone numbers to our agent's personal business phone number without providing the caller id from which the call is being routed from. We have tried emailing the company, I have tried calling the company and done some research only to find out that the information provided is non-existent per their website and any contact phone information is being intentionally hidden or made private so that any attempt to contact them by phone is nearly impossible from my experience. There is no legitimate information or method to contact them other than email, which I doubt is legitimate either. My issue is that they are violating the *** act by publishing our logo, photos, and business phone number information without our permission and clearly are publishing it under multiple apartment listings across the *** I have screen shots showing our licensed real estate agent's image next to apartments that she is not representing in any way shape or form and for which she is not licensed to represent in the states where shown. Not to mention our business phone lines and switchboard is being tied up answering calls from their website automated phone forwarding system. We, after research, feel that this company is using our personal business logo and information to perpertrate crimes such as fraud and is misadvertising our brand and using our brand logos, name, and agents to benefit without our permission. We have tried to get our information removed, but are unable to as there doesn't seem to be a process that can expedite this easily. We are frustrated that businesses like this are allowed to have an internet presence and go unchecked. Our desired outcome at a minimum would be to have them remove our company's branding, logo, name, and agent photos, phone numbers, and all other information related to our organization from their zumper.com website. We also request that the company stop forwarding phone calls that are disrupting our business with unwanted calls from folks that are clearly being confused by the website's published data as it is not accurate according to ou research.

TOTAL SCAM! SHAME ON YOU!I've clicked on listings for several properties that turn out to be scammers! I find the same property on other legitimate sites for way over what rent is on Zumper. ALSO having to deal with people contacting me and being very pushy for me to sign, misspelled words and continual "I can't meet you since my child is in the hospital, but will you send deposit without viewing.
I received a text and call from someone off this app for a house I went to see the house the man had the code to get into the house I didnt like the house cause it needed a lot of work done but my sister said she would apply for it ,she applied and sent a application fee did everything send the deposit and after that nothing the man supposed to met her at location no show and he stop answering the phone this is really disappointed .
