Fast and Affordable Pet Supplies: My Experience with 1-800-PetSupplies
I gotta say, I was pretty darn happy when I stumbled upon 1-800-PetSupplies. I needed a crate for my pooch, who's a medium-sized fella, and my usual spot was all outta stock. They said they could order one for me, but when they told me the price and how long it would take (up to 6 weeks!), I was like, "Nah, I'm good."
So I turned to the interwebs and found this site. And let me tell ya, not only was the price way better than what I woulda paid at my local Animal Supply Store, but the crate was shipped and at my door in just 2 days. That's some speedy service, if you ask me.
I gotta give props to this site for being so on top of things. And I've already told my friends and fam about it, so they can get in on the action too.
Oh, and my dog? He's lovin' his new digs. So it's a win-win all around.
Poor Customer Service and Missing Product from 1-800-PetSupplies
I recently made a purchase from 1-800-PetSupplies in early December for some dog treats. I ordered four packages, but before they arrived, I noticed that the company had charged me an additional amount on my Visa. This was quite frustrating, but I decided to wait until my package arrived to see if everything was in order.
Unfortunately, when my package arrived, I discovered that one of the packages of treats was missing. I immediately called the company to report the issue, and the representative I spoke with assured me that they would mail the missing package right away. However, when the package didn't arrive, I called back on January 5th to follow up.
The representative I spoke with this time informed me that I had been credited for the missing package on December 8th. However, I checked my bank account and saw that I had been charged for the package, not credited. When I brought this to her attention, she was unhelpful and I asked to speak with someone who could assist me further.
I was promised a call back within 24 hours, but when I didn't receive one, I called back again. This time, the representative I spoke with said that I had been given a credit and that an email had been sent to me earlier that day to let me know. However, I searched my emails and spam folder and found nothing from them.
I expressed my frustration and disappointment with the company and told the representative that I did not want a credit, but rather the product I had ordered twice. She said she would ask for a refund, but I reiterated that I wanted the product I had ordered. She said I would receive a call back within 24-48 working hours, which was not what I had been told the day before.
Eventually, I received an email from someone at the company saying that they would send me a check. However, the email did not identify the sender as being from 1-800-PetSupplies, and it included two different company names that I had never heard of before.
To make matters worse, I never received any emails from the company regarding my order, shipping, or any explanations for the missing item. The only email I received was the one promising to send me a check, which didn't even acknowledge the amount.
I want to make it clear that 1-800-PetSupplies should not be confused with 1-800-PetMed, which I have had no issues with in the past. I will never do business with 1-800-PetSupplies again, and I am honestly surprised that they are still in business.
Terrible Business Practices: My Experience with 1-800-PetSupplies
I recently had a very unpleasant experience with 1-800-PetSupplies. I purchased a pet carrier from them on July 11th, 2013 and was told that it was in stock and would ship within 3-5 business days. However, it is now July 29th, 2013 and I still have not received my pet carrier. To make matters worse, the company has been very uncooperative in refunding me the $69.95 that I paid for the carrier.
When I first requested a refund, they responded by saying that they would make all attempts to cancel the order, but it was not guaranteed. This was very confusing to me, as they did not have the product in stock and could not deliver what I had purchased. Despite my repeated attempts to contact them and request a refund, they have been very vague in their responses and have made me wait longer and longer with no refund in sight.
I am truly shocked by the terrible business practices of 1-800-PetSupplies. They have promised to call me back and get back to me, but they never do. When I call them, I am put on hold for a long time and then I talk to someone who is not helpful at all. When I send them emails, they reply with vague answers and do not help me at all.
They claim that the problem is with their vendor, but that is not my problem. I did business with them, I paid them, and they told me that the product was in stock. If they had been on top of their game, they would have listed the item as backordered with no estimated date for delivery. This would have avoided any problems. Instead, I am left with no product and no refund.
I am very frustrated with 1-800-PetSupplies and I am not alone. I have seen many other negative reviews of this company online. I am contacting the Better Business Bureau to report them and I am leaving this review on as many sites as possible to warn other customers about their terrible business practices.
