Hi my name is Jessica Rico i want to complain about my unit damages. I live in 560 n. Kingsley Dr apt #215 los angeles Ca 90004. On April 5, 2019 as my family and i walked in to my apt. We notice the roof in the living room leaking i took video and at the momemt i went to show the video and report it to management who live here in the building, all Fernando told me was he was going to report it to Abra management . Nothing has been done yet. On Saturday on April 20, 2019 i called building manager to let them know that it was leaking again i spoke to the managers daughter Tamara, she told me that she was going to report it again i called between 1pm and 2pm claiming it as an emergency, all she said was that it was about to be 3pm that it was also late for it to be reported as and emergency due to there would be no one to work on it that day and that i would have to wait till Monday April 22, 2019. On Saturday i wasnt home my husband called me to tell me that the ceiling fell all over my sons toys, couch and carpet. I called building management to let them know. Fernando replied to my complaint by telling me he has to report my husband who he rented this unit with me but was never put in the contract 7 years ago i took it as retaliation because i complained about my unit. Also they know i have a dog whos been staying with us for over a year now by telling me hes going to report him as well. The reason im reaching out is because im concern for my 6 year old son and our health why isn't this being dealt with? Its been 3 weeks and nothing yet. So please if you can reply with a date and time this problem will be fix asoon as possible in no more than 3-5 business days I'll appreciate it. Thank you.
toxic, unsafe, unlivable rental units at 5826 carlton way
Summary: Management failed to answer my repeated emails and calls regarding the unit's condition, and failed to return my partial security deposit for the unit after a lease break with medical demand to vacate the unit due to health concerns.
I rented unit 205 at 5826 Carlton Way, Hollywood Ca on 7/19/2017. I had previewed the unit a few weeks before and was under renovation due to previous condition, including floors, bathroom sink, tub, toilet, etc.
As soon as I moved in and got the key from Linda, I noticed the very strong smell of chemical agents and expressed my concern to her. She mentioned it would go away, or that she couldn't sense it.
Weeks went by and I developed a severe allergy while in the unit, red eyes, headaches and anxiety. My dog also developed a rash on his tail, and went from scratching to major scabs on his tail.
I saw my doctor who recommended I immediately move out for concerns of cancer, and other potential effects from the heavy chemical exposure.
I presented the letter to Linda, as well as an air quality report in the unit, which showed high levels of CO2, chemicals, and humidity.
I was able to find another place and moved out on August 29th.
I didn't hear back from Linda at all, so I went ahead and called the management company today and spoke with Greg, who mentioned a letter was just mailed out to me, and that they were not refunding me my partial deposit due to them only being able to rent out the unit on the 15th, and making me responsible for two weeks of rent.
They are really awful people to do business, definitely do not care about their tenants, and are just out to make money, be greedy and take advantage of people. I highly warn against this company and all of their properties.

unfair wages
The overtime is paid in regular wage. Company doesn't pay for gas and tools. Overtime is paid strictly in cash. Also for the past 3 years, break was not included in over time.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
