Lien
This company put a lien on our house for a misley water filter. No where in our contract does it say that they can do that, my husband has stage 4 cancer and they harassed him everyday,I told them to come pick it up because my husband can not work anymore, now we need to sell the house so we will have money to bury him and they put a $5,000.00 lien on a $200,00.00 home they are very rude crooks, they can not do that,, worse company ever! Don’t do business with them
Recommendation: Find another company that is honest!!
Now they don’t answer my phone calls
Now I tried calling them and they don’t answer.

Payment due date 4th of each month check mailed 8/13 for amount of 159.89 next statement 9/13 total owed 357.72 checked with bank check was cashed on 9/17 they held my check for a month and then charge me a late fee subtracted 159.89 from total of 357.72 difference of 197.83 mailed them a check for that amount, just received my new statement balance is 7.99 and due is 129.94, so don't ever do business with this company and expect to ever pay it off
Stay away from these crooks, period! On July 20. 2016 three months after moving into our new home. I started receiving notes left on my door, regarding someone wanting to come to our house to do a city water demonstration. Not sure how they got our address. Time pass and a guy came to our house to give us a demonstration of the advantages of using an Aquakleen System Vs. Regular tap water. He convinced us into financing the Water Refinement System. He never stated that by signing the agreement we will be acquiring a lien on our home.We were never explained that we were going to be charged daily financing charges, and that if we had any late payments our financing charges would increase. We finance the system for *** in which we pay $90 a month. We were making payments on time until my husband lost his job and we fell behind. I called the company to see if they will take the system back, they stated they cannot take it back! The account was charged off, and now They stay we owe $14,857.36 Which is ridiculous. They are charging daily finance charges of 21% annually plus late fees every day. I have called them and tried to settle for $4,000 in which they stated they cannot settle for less than ***. We already have paid off ***. I am willing to work out a settlement, so they could remove the lien from the house. But no way am I paying all those unnecessary charges. Just be very cautious, who you do business with.Thank you
This company has a *** interest rate compounded daily. My credit scorr is just under 700 with 42 months of ontime pmts with 9 open companies and this is where I landed for a heater replacement. Each phone call gave different info and negated the prior calls info. The interest would have cost more then the heater. I called today and after a $204 pmt 2 weeks ago, act.only had gone down about $40. Luckily i was able to borrow money and pay them in full. Never finance with them...you'll never pay off your debt.
When we bought our home in 2016, we were also misled into buying a water softening system with Castle Credit. After paying $5000 dollars, we found that we still owed them around $5000 dollars, so we quit paying them and they refused to take back the water treatment system. I called to make some arrangements with ***. He gave me an arrangement of $868 each month for 4 months, when I could not make the second payment, he said that I had breached the agreement and now we were back at the original amount and the interest continues to accrue even after the account has been charged off on my credit report and reported as a lien on my home. THIS IS A WARNING, IF SOMEONE APPROACHES YOU AND WANTS TO SELL YOU A HOME TREATMENT SYSTEM FINANCED BY CASTLE CREDIT, RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION! If I could leave a ZERO, it would be ZERO!
Calling my wife's family to try to get me to pay almost *** in loans that I never took out. I've never even heard of this company before.
Worst company ever
Worst company ever. They keep changing my amount i keep trying to pay my bill but it's like they just want more money from me. There customer service is awful there is no management to speak to .no answers and no one cares at Castle credit. Don't ever work with we had gotten statements proving we owe 8.500 but when i try to pay it they keep saying we owe 16.000 were are also trying to sell our home and this is all we are waiting for to be done with our sale these people are theaves
Trash company,They will start the account and tell you they can't start recieving payments for a month or two, then they will charge you interest even when they are the ones that didn't accept payments. When you close the account be careful that they may send you a refund and open the account again with that money and charge you interest on that. All without telling you about it. They do all this to get more money out of you. Avoid at all costs "
My experience with castle credit i have received a water system in my home when i first brought my house (***. The gentlemen that came and sold the product to me said that i would not have to start making payments until January . It was installed in June/July if i am not mistaken but it was 2016. So i got a *** around October and said it was due November. I called there department they gave me the runaround numerous time. I also tried to set up a payment plan with them no one in the department is on the same page. They are ridiculous they said i owe them 13,000 now. So please don't get with these folks they area a hot mess. They calls me with ridiculous telephone numbers."
They were easy to finance through, but their service is terrible. Their website works very inconsistently, failing to login and giving errors frequently. This makes it difficult to manage and review what theyre doing with your account. They charged me a $10 late fee the first months payment, which I paid. Then I persistently showed up in my account. I over paid the next 3 months in a row, and in one month made two individual $10 payments - because I was concerned their system thought I owed them money. After it never went away I had to call them and ask was going on, and they tried to tell me that its an installment loan so any fees accrue to the end of the loan and extra payments go towards principal and not fees. They had to waive the fee to get it to go away. Even though I was hundreds of dollars ahead on my loan payments.Their practices and policies are suspect, and their customer service seemed to imply it was my problem and my fault and offered no way for me to resolve a $10 fee that I had paid over and over again.I wouldnt use them again. Something is very very wrong here.
This is the worst loan company. Please do not borrow from Castle Credit. I have made payments every month. I pay more than what is asked and my loan does not go down. I keep getting charged late fees, but my payments are not late. This is the worst company to do business with.
THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY TO DEAL WITH!
THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY TO DEAL WITH! They harass you all the time for payment, even when you aren't late. They put your account in default but can't explain why! They set you up for LARGE payments and tell you that you have no other option or account will go into default. They make stuff up to put your account in a bad status so they can collect more money. Each person you speak to gives you a completely different story about your account so you never know what is really going on!
Castle Credit offers financing that you can never pay off with the minimum payments. When I called to question why my loan was still at $3400 after 4 years of paying 25% over the minimum payment, totaling over $4000, they said it was revolving debt and even paying 25% over it would never be paid off. The only way to pay it off is to pay it in full. I was led to believe it was a 5 year loan. They are a scam company. Worse than the personal loan quick cash places. DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES! They are thieves! They put a lien on your house to get the money from you!

I purchased a Puronics water filtration system due to my wife's health in February . At no point was I advised that a UCC fixture filing lien would be placed against my house. If I had been advised of a lien being placed on my house, I would not have agreed to the financing. Moreover, the water system, which I can easily take with me to a new home, does not constitute a "fixture (like a roof would)." I only learned of the lien when I was about to close on my house. Now, I have to pay an additional $7,000 to close on my house, when I have been making all of my payments pursuant to the agreement. I have been an attorney for over 17 years and have never seen a company put a lien on a property for something that isn't actually a fixture. My real estate attorney, who has been practicing for over 30 years, said the same thing. Castle Credit is currently holding me hostage because it knows no legal action can be taken in time to save my closing. The position it is taking is unheard of. Judging by the reviews on this page, I am not the only one being put in this position by this company. My suggestion is to avoid them at all costs (and the companies that use them).

We just sold our house and were informed that we had a lien on the house of a water softener filtration system we had purchased years prior. I made payment arrangements and paid in good faith for over 3 years. The balance that was still owed at the time of sale was $3,930.04. Our mortgage company requested a payoff letter. That letter stated the payoff amount of $12,443.87. So our bank sent a check for that amount of $12,443.87 and asked that Castle Credit pay off the loan balance take the lien off and send us the difference. The difference being $8,513.83. I called castle credit to get the status of our refund and letter that the loan was satisfied and the lien lifted. They are stating that the $8,513.83 was for late fees. I am and will submit this to the Complaintsboard.com because this is robbery.
This company is very misleading. I financed a remodel of my bathroom after I just bought my house in 2018 and it was about $5600. I have been paying way over the minimum monthly payment since so I could payy off early. I now am trying to Refi my mortgage and come to find out there is a 2nd Trust Deed on my house from Castle Credit. WHAT THE! I applied for financing of some work to be done by Bath Planet and this is what it was. Are you serious? I don;t recall seeing the paperwork say there they will be taking out a 2nd deed on your property. Because they know that this sale would not have happened and Castle Credit would not be used at all. I don' see how they have an A+ rating as a business. This needs to be looked into for the business practices they use and get this rating lowered way down so they don.t come up as a possible financing option. Also, there needs to be a separate addendum with appropriate label to be signed separately so buyers are aware. Terrible practice for a company, I will always tell anyone to make sure the financing is not done by Castle Credit

Whom ever responded to my review is not being honest
Whom ever responded to my review is not being honest. At NO time did anyone explain a contract with me. Since your calls are recorded for quality assurance please provide me with a copy of the conversation. I called in April to inform your company of my situation and no one ever mentioned a contract to me. I thought I was dealing with honest people and I was making my monthly payments every month so I had no need to contact you until a few days ago when I noticed by balance was getting higher instead of lower with each payment. This company purposely deceive customers in order to fraudulently collect more money . Shame on you all
My experience with Castle Credit: Received a water system upon buying my house
My experience with Castle Credit began when I received a water system as I moved into my new home. The salesperson assured me that payments would start in January , following a June/July installation. However, I received a bill in October, demanding payment by November. Repeated calls to their department led to confusion and no clear payment plan. Now they claim I owe them $13,000. I advise caution when dealing with this company due to their disorganization and persistent, odd calls.

Paid account in full and castle credit filled a lien against our house 5 days afterwards.
I received a loan from FTL Finance, who in turn sold it to Castle Credit. We paid Castle Credit loan off in full and received a pay off that was not notarized. We are trying to sell out house and upon closing found out Castle Credit file a lien on the house 5 days after we paid them in full. I and Peer Title Company have been trying to reach out to them and they will not reply, to obtain an official letter of satisfaction. Our closing date is Monday, 6/12/2023, and still no reply. We have supplied Bank statements, transfer of loan letter and the paid in full letter. Our lives are left in a constant limbo. We have left numerous voice messages due to the fact the UCC Manager for Castle Credit will not speak to you and only allows you to left a message.
Desired outcome: Receive letter of Satisfaction from Castle Credit have it submitted to the Pasco County Clerk to remove lien on our house ASAP.
This is the financial they submitted 5 days after our loan was paid in full.
Hi Deann,
I am going through the same thing right now. I'm trying to contact them for a letter of satisfaction and no one answers or calls back. It is very irritating. Was your issue resolved?
I had an account with Castle Credit and I got behind on the account due to job loss
I had an account with Castle Credit and I got behind on the account due to job loss. I borrowed money to pay this account off from family members and was promised a pay for delete from this company. I was told if I paid the majority of the balance, all negative reporting would be removed from my credit reports. Currently, I am trying to purchase a home and Castle Credit has this account on my credit as a charge off. I went through a whole lot to get this paid, and Castle Credit did not honor what they promised.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I called Castle Credit and ask if they would accept an agree amount for my account to be paid in full. They did accept the offer of $1,796.00. Which I paid in December I got a call from them stating I was past due. I called them and stated this should be settled and they agreed said it would take 20 days. Which would be January 20th I just received another statement in the mail stating I am past due of $463.00 this should be settled and I am tired of going back and forth and want this off my credit.
I keep receiving calls and letters saying I owe them money. I never borrowed money from them. I have talk to several people who work there, and have been told, my names on the list so there is nothing they can do. Someone owes them money and since they have my number it's going to be me
This was towards the purchase of a water softener
This was towards the purchase of a water softener.I was not informed that this was a secured home improvement loan it was sold to me as a line of credit like a credit card. Now there is a lien on my home and the interest has doubled my balance. The company that sold it to me doesnt even exist they went out of business so all warranties are null and void aling with other things they offered like free soap for a year. I am highly upset about this as i feel they committed fraud and didnt provide me with the correct info regarding this purchase and loan.

This company has put an account on my credit. I do not have an account with them nor did I apply for one with them. This company has submitted late charges on my credit account. Every time I try to call this company no one ever answers the phone. This account was fraudulently put in my name.
I paid my *** as scheduled! These people are attempting to say I haven't paid my ***.

I received a phone call from this company just before the beginning of April and they didn't give me very much information why they were reaching out to me and when I tried to answer them they hung up on me. I then received a couple of emails and two pieces of mail which didn't tell me much of anything except they were trying to collect $3594.16 from me. I am not sure what it is for and would like them to stop contacting me. According to my credit history, all my debts are cleared up and this must be for something that is over 10 years or more ago.

Every time I try to pay my ***, I get a confirmation letter saying it's paid. Then weeks later the company calls me asking for payment again. They will not let me pay any way other than over the phone. Their website does not work. There is no way to view my statements, balances, account information or number. They keep trying to charge me late fees when it is extremely difficult to pay my *** or contact them.
castle credit keeps calling my number looking for some unknown person that is not associated with me or my family. I tried contacting them about this and they stopped calling my number for about 3 months then the started calling again looking for the same person. I want the calling to stop. Castle credit calls every day early morning...late at night etc. I want them to stop calling my number.Do what you can to make this calling stop! Thanks
Sign a contract with Castle credit paying equal payments for 24 months interfere
Sign a contract with Castle credit paying equal payments for 24 months interfere. Every month, despite the agreed amout loaned, divided by 24, interest still showed on the account. We paid off the balance to refinance our home. All I need is a statement saying it is paid in full and account is closed, but they say they can not do this until 30 days after last payment. This is the ONLY thing hovering that is keeping me from closing on my home refinance. I am at risk for a high mortgage interest rate because of how shady castle credit is. Why do important? It shows up on my credit line as a lien against my home! I just purchased new windows!

I bought a vacuum from a store in Stockton, California
I bought a vacuum from a store in Stockton, California. They sent applications to two financing companies to get me approved for financing. I was contacted by one to verify my co-signer. I never received a call from Castle Credit confirming financing, yet I received a bill from them and paid it. Later, I discovered both companies have my account. Castle was supposed to close my account but never did. They won't assist me and show no concern. When I call, they are unhelpful and rude. What should I do about being double financed? How can I get Castle Credit to refund me and close my account?
We opened an account with Castle Credit in August for an in-home water softener
We opened an account with Castle Credit in August for an in-home water softener. We made all monthly payments and closed the account in October. All payments were made on time and the account was paid off early. We went to refinance and there is a lien on our home from Castle Credit. We contacted them a week ago and they agreed to send a lien release to our email. They have not done this. When we attempt to call, there is no answer. It was unacceptable for there to be a lien anyway but it should have been removed when the account was paid in full. In addition, we are waiting to close on our refinance because of something we paid off years ago and the company has failed to provide necessary paperwork regarding their mistake.
We purchased a water filtration system via a company called *** a few years ago
We purchased a water filtration system via a company called *** a few years ago. Castle Credit financed the system for roughly $5,000. Not long after this purchase, we fell on hard times and stopped making our monthly payments. Soon after, the Coronavirus pandemic set in and we haven't been financially stable enough since then to even make a dent in the amount of interest charged to the purchase. I recently received a letter in the mail showing there is a lien connected to this and that the current payoff balance is well over the amount of the original purchase price. I'm seeking to workout some kind of settlement in order to have the lien removed and the account showed as paid in full and closed as well removed from our credit reports.

My husband and I had an account with Castle Credit and we got behind on the account due to my job loss
My husband and I had an account with Castle Credit and we got behind on the account due to my job loss. We worked our butts off to pay this account off and was promised a pay to delete from this company. We were told if we paid the majority of the balance, all negative reporting would be removed from our credit reports. Currently, we are trying to refinance our home and Castle Credit has this account on my credit as paid in full. We went through a whole lot to get this paid, and Castle Credit did not honor what they promised. I called them in hopes that speaking to them and explaining the situation, they would delete it from our credit reports and now they claim that is not something they can do. And reading the complaints others have filed on them Im not the only one complaining about the false information they have provided.

The company has been charging late fees for payment that were paid on time
The company has been charging late fees for payment that were paid on time. In addition the company has been reporting the erroneous information to the credit bureaus. The company never informed me of the reason for the late fee charge until 08/20 even though I have called numerous times regarding payment issues. The company claims the discrepancy occurred with a previous lender however I have the copy of the original contact and they are listed as the original lender. I have had nothing but problems with the company from day one. The previous month the monthly payment was returned to my bank, when I called to inquire as to why the check was returned I discovered they changed their mailing address. But they hadnt sent any notifications. I am that my whits in with the company and my only Recourse was to file this report with the Complaintsboard.com. Sincerely

I am filing a complaint due to this company being crooks
I am filing a complaint due to this company being crooks. I got a water system financed with Castle Credit. The amount financed was $4,495.00 in 2. I paid for it for 3 years. I fell on hard times with some medical issues causing me to lose my job and separate from my spouse. Going to one income this wasn't a priority to pay. The amount reporting on my credit is $4,055 and the letter I received from the company showing the balance due was the same $4,055 balance. When I called trying to get a settlement offer they advised the balance was $8,079. They have filed a lein on my home. When the title company reached out to then to get a payoff balance they will not give a settlement offer. I have received 2 letters from the creditor dated after the title companies letter but yet now they won't honor them. I want to get this settled but at the rate that they offered me.

Approximately 3 years ago purchased a water filtration system for our home through WNY *** Was installed and told that every year they would replace filters under the sink. I have tried e-mailing, and calling both numbers provided with no response. The Phone numbers are not in service. They had us go through Castle Credit for monthly payments. To date, we have paid over $3,000. Castle Credit has been auto withdrawing $79.91 every month. Statement says we still owe $4,459.02. I don't know what to do as we can't get replacement filters and are paying for something now that isn't working and the company is non existent. This is what I received from our Complaintsboard.com in Buffalo. This message is in regard to your complaint submitted on 7/20, and assigned ID. Unfortunately, we aren't able to pursue this complaint because the business is either unreachable or appears to be out of business.

On 10/25 I purchased furniture with a line of credit from Great American Finance, acct.#[protected], in the amount of $3025.99.The purchase had a promotion period of no interest if paid in full by 12/08.The balance was not paid in full by 12/08 so they began charging me interest back from the original purchase date October .Some months they would charge interest twice and have to go back and reverse the overcharge. My interest is billed on the 13th of each month. I was billed on 5/13 for $48.71 and on 5/25 billed $51.31.On 6/13 I was billed $47.74 and on 6/24 billed $49.66. The charges from 5/25 and 6/24 are overcharges and need to be reversed. I called customer service on 1/15 when I noticed it to resolve the issue. I have called an additional 5x and contacted them electronically via the "contact/message" tab on their /website. I contacted them today 6/7 and the issue has not been resolved.

6/9 Name on account redacted, Account Number redacted, Date loan/Debt Incurred: March Amount past due: Unknown due to lack of communication with Salad Master, Prime Acceptance Corporation, Castle Credit, (true name elusive). To Whom It May Concern, I assert my right to dignified and respectful treatment by collection agencies. The agency in question has violated the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act by: Persisting a debt on my credit for over 7 years, contrary to the Fair Credit Reporting Act which mandates removal after 6 years, making unverified false allegations, and repeatedly transferring the collection to different entities. Additionally, they have ignored my responses to their threats and continually altered their name on my credit report.

In 2018 I took out a home improvement loan with Castle Credit Holdings, LLC
In 2018 I took out a home improvement loan with Castle Credit Holdings, LLC. The loan program was offered through my contractor, Vista Home Improvement. I borrowed money to pay for vinyl siding for my home in 2018. On January 7, I paid the remaining loan amount in full and my account was closed. I'm in the midst of refinancingf my home; my closing was scheduled for two weeks from now. However, when they did a routine title search on April 28, they found a lien from Castle Credit on my property based on the vinyl siding contract. I called the Castle Credit customer service line and they affirmed that my account had been paid in full in January and the lien should have been removed. The young woman I spoke with wasn't sure what to do, so I asked to speak with someone who could help me. She referred me to a colleague who wasn't at his desk; I was told that she would send him an email and that I could leave a message, which I did. I never got a call back. I called the next day and spoke with a man named Gonzolo (spelling?) who seemed very responsive and helpful. He told me that it normally takes about 45 days for CC to process the lien removal with the county; he apologized for the delay and told me that he would try to expedite filing. He offered to call my lender to explain the situation and I provided him with the contact information. He told me that he would call my loan officer and then call me back. Neither my loan officer or I have heard anything from him. The bank won't complete the closing until the lien is removed from my property. Integrity seems to be a problem with Castle Credit. The lien on my house was never disclosed in the contract and customer service appears to be a sham.
My husband and I make a purchase of a water filtration system in Nov
My husband and I make a purchase of a water filtration system in Nov. 2014 for the heath benefits (I have an autoimmune disorder and the system was recommend by my doctor) due to the inadequate quality of water supply near Camp Lejeune in Onslow County, NC. At the time my husband was active duty and we only got to live in our home for 2 years due to required duty transfer. We are trying to short sell our home and pay off this loan. The company is not working with us and trying to Charge us amount of $14,914.48 on May 22. On May 15 the balance due on the account was $6186.85. Our credit reports $7,445 updated Feb. 2020. The original loan amount was $7445.00. The balance from payments we have made is $6186.85. There is a fixture filing/lien on our home that was by our original sales agreement unauthorized. There has been no court proceeding to file a lien on our home. We have to pay this in order to short sell our home and are actively trying to work with this company but have been unsuccessful. We feel they are purposely trying to take advantage of our distress in our short sell. Our bank offered to pay $6,000 to remove the lien of which is illegal in nature. We have no funds hence the reason for the short sell of the home. We have no funds to even consult with legal counsel and Castle Credit are aware. If we cannot come to a reasonable payoff amount the home will be forced to foreclose and the offer from the bank would be void. There will be no money to repay this loan as my husband and I are now unemployed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. My husband was asked to set payment arrangement until the short sell was completed, he did so for the amount of $148.00 for June 1st and June 15th of $148.00 under the understanding of payoff amount of $6,600. Now they said we will have to pay $14,914.48 after finding out the bank was willing to pay the $6,000. We have emails, legal documentations regard this account. Account 142587
Account # *** On July 20, three months after moving into our new home
Account # *** On July 20, three months after moving into our new home. We started receiving notes taped on our door, regarding someone wanting to come to our house to do a city water demonstration. Not sure how they got our address. Time pass and a guy came to our house to give us a demonstration of the advantages of using an Aqua Kleen System Vs. Regular tap water. He convinced my husband and I into financing the Water Refinement System. The seller never stated that by signing the agreement we will be acquiring a lien on our home. We were never explained that we were going to be charged daily financing charges, and that if we had any late payments our financing charges would increase. We finance the system for $5,990.00 in which we had to pay $90 a month. We were making payments on time until my husband lost his job and we fell behind. I called the company to see if they will take the system back, they stated they cannot take it back. The account was charged off, and now They state we owe $15,131.25 Which is ridiculous! They are charging daily finance charges of 21% annually plus late fees every day. I have attached documents as proof. I have called the remediation department many times and tried to settle for $4,000 in which they stated they cannot settle for less than $7,570 Which is $2,875 more than the original financing price. We already have paid off $1,295. We are willing to work out a settlement, so they could remove the lien from the house, and clear our credit reports. This is extremely affecting our credit! We would appreciate if they came to a compromise and remove all unnecessary finance and late charges that have posted to the account. They have mailed me letters stating they would match up 100% of any payments I make. For example, if I pay $800, they will pay $800. But will it work towards a settlement? We just want to settle this loan and move on. P.S. Please Stop calling our family members!Thank you
