hours and advancement opportunitites
I am currently working for Adecco for Nike-Shelby Dr. In Memphis, Tn. The CPS/Manager at this location day shift, is not professional at all. She uses profanity and foul language when communicating with her employees. She doesn't allow certain employees to advance to other positions regardless of their time with the company. On the other hand she allows the ones she hangs out with after work to float around to different departments and work overtime if they desire. It is a very unprofessional environment, I enjoy working for the company Adecco, but the management makes the workplace a very unpleasant environment. I have been here a little shy of a year and I have asked several times to be trained in another department or to allow me to work in a support position, its always a NO. Yet people not even two weeks out of training are in support positions. All I desire is an opportunity to move up within the company.
treatment of new staff
I was offered an administration position at Adecco a few months ago. They told me I would have sufficient training and a lot to do in my role. Considering they pride themselves as a "successful employment agency" I was shocked at how I was treated during my (very short) time there. I arrived and had lap top or email set up, no one to train me and nothing to do. I was not treated with respect but then again most of the individuals at this organisation are so caught up in their self importance I don't think "polite and supportive" is part of their nature. I was told not to come back for a few days because nothing was set up for me, then when I returned again there was still nothing for me to do. I think it is appalling for a company, especially specialising in recruitment to be this inadequate when recruiting a new member of staff to their own company. It ended in my dismissal after one of the worst employment experiences to date! Thankfully I joined a lovely company with brilliant supportive staff that had me set up before I got in to the office and gave me more training in one hour than Adecco did in a month! If you are looking for employment .. GO THROUGH REED! Members of staff at Adecco will pretend they care but they don't, it's their wallets they care about!
hiring
I applied on-line to Adecco. I was honest and told them I had arm surgery done about 4 years ago to fix a pinched nerve. I was told there was positions that would be suitable and that my resume would be kept on file. I called back to find out what I would be suitable for in the line of work through them and this staff member told me oh I'm sorry but we cannot accept your application due to your injury. So I informed them that it seemed to be okay to hire people that are smoking pot and going into work but because I have had surgery I am not eligible now. I think this is completely unfair. Here I am a person who wants to work and cannot get work all because I had surgery about 4 years ago. I think they need to do drug testing of all employees. Nothing like being told your pretty much useless. So not impressed, and very upset.
dnu wrongly coded no recourse
In 2004, I sold my house and moved from Las Vegas to North Carolina. I was a worker for years for Adecco when I left Las Vegas. On June 5, 2015, I was informed that I had had a DNU (Do Not Use) put on my record when I was in Las Vegas for a No Call/No Show. I was given a going away party in 2004 because the entire staff knew I was moving due to my husbands multiple health issues. My husband is a 100% disabled veteran with service connection. I phoned corporate and asked them to look into the issue. I spoke to a Ms. Jennifer Hull who told me she would look into the problem in that I had worked for two women in the Adecco office and never heard of a John. Ms. Hull's idea of looking into the problem was to pass the buck to another woman named Nora who called me at 9:30 am June 8 (Monday) to tell me that there was a notation in my file for a DNU. I already knew this. The problem is that she could not do any investigating until Monday and I was phoned when it is 6:30 am in Las Vegas and Adecco has not even opened there. If I am going to be maligned and lied to, at least they could be competent at doing so. I'm currently looking for a regulatory agency to turn these people in to. It is eleven years later and no one ever informed me that I had been placed in a Do Not Use status so that I could dispute it in a timely manner. I have never been a no call no show. I worked for these people from the late 80's to 2004. I'm floored by Ms. Hull's inept brush off and lazy attitude. I feel violated and abused. She told me that they encourage people like me to apply to other agencies. The problem is that Adecco is the only agency in our tiny town. I am essentially locked out of entire industries here now, with zero recourse.
refused to place me on a job
Stop by this place looking for temp work and filled out an application and submitted my resume. During the intake secession when I did the paper work, I told them I was over 40 and after I said that, Dee looked down on me. Made calls to follow up and Dee would never return my calls.
Stop by had a conversation with the manager since, Dee would never return my calls. They refused to send me on an interview or find me a job because, I had no experience in the jobs they had and their clients don't train. For an example, a simple job working in a warehouse they would not place me in.
terrible recruitment consultants
This is the second time I am dealing with Adecco.
1) I waited 3 weeks to signed an employment contract with them, as they informed that --- company wants to hire me.
I was curious why the time for processing was taking so long so I decided to call them up since I already went for my second round of interview with --- company. The recruitment officer from Adecco told me that --- company had headcount freeze which is why it was taking so long. I was furious as they did not inform me when there was a headcount freeze, as a recruitment agency, it was their duty to inform the candidate which was shortlisted to take on the job when something like this crops up.
2) I recently applied for a position for the role based on the photograph, when Adecco called me up to arrange for an interview, I told them that I have preference in the industry / sector which i would like to pursue my career in. However the consultant told me off to check the ad before applying as they had indicated that they mentioned this position was for Adecco, which I do not see it in anyway. Any job seeker
who applies for a job on any job search sites will think that these are ads posted by recruitment agents like themselves.
I am very disappointed with their professionalism & attitude.

Adecco recruiters are terrible. Every recruiter in the 91st and Thomas location is terrible. I waste my gas to go out there just for them to give me a false promise. We will give you a call, I hope no one believes that. I can do their job so much better, everyone will make sure to ask for me. Smh I can't believe their employed.
pay — never on time!!
Pay dates! Never expect your check on time. Never!
It is always late regardless if its via direct deposit or by paper. No matter what they tell you, be prepared.
There is always an excuse why you haven't received one, or why its' late. This is the worst agency to have been taken advantage of. Be prepared to have plan b, while awaiting on a pay check — especially paying your bills. Being a contingency worker is what your called. Your an "at will" employee; which in essence, from what i've seen, you can be used and taken advantage of very easily. Fired at any time for no cause, used at their disposal and not with just this kind of agency.
If all else fails and there is no resolution in sight, its time to place a complaint with the department of fair employment or better business bureau.. ;)

human rights issues
I allege, Adecco fails to protect or show any appropriate regard for the human rights of its employees. As indicated by their actions, including lack thereof, I would allege that they have proven repeatedly, with many of their employees and I have first hand experience also, that their main focus and interest is primarily in thei "Company" making money and securing and keeping contracts, including significant money-making contracts such as the one they have in place related to the London Life, Head Office, Dufferin Ave (or Street?) in London, Ontario, regardless of what issues the employees are being subjected to in the "workplace" and by the Adecco Reps themselves. ANYONE out there who has something to say about Adecco, harassment, discrimination in the workplace, rude or ignorant treatment from Adecco Reps...PLEASE, PLEASE contact me at email: [protected]@msn.com. EVERY person is entitled to be treated with dignity, respect and NOT have OUR human rights violated. Human Rights claim is about to be processed and filed against Adecco...provide me with your email and info...I AM SURE something can also be done to help you!

I tried to get a hold with the agency i applied and the place i work but it looks like its impossible first they give me a number which is really not helping me and then the website which is paperless employee/associates.com which leads me here that im hoping will help me to obtain one.
less than favorable experiences
I initially had a favorable impression of this staffing company via one of their recruiters in Portland. In the past, I actively sought placement into job and work assignment via this staffing company. My past efforts were to NO avail. Also, recruiter for this company left me with a less than satisfied and less than pleasant and professional experience. My impression of this staffing company is still less than favorable at the present time. I hope that it is just an issue with this local office.

The experiences of those who wrote on this board is not uncommon and is not just issues with Adecco U.S.A. The Adecco in Canada, specifically London Ontario Canda, from my experience, is just as bad, if not worse. Anyone who would consider working as a contract employee with Adecco should reconsider. I allege, in my personal opinion, from my first hand experience, Adecco violates the human rights of their employees, Adecco's main focus and sole, primar concern is to secure and keep contracts and to keep making money from those contracts, regardless of what issues their employees may experience in the workplace, expecialy related to human rights violations of the code and having to work in a 'POISONED WORK ENVIRONMENT" while under contracted employment with Adecco. Adecco does not care and refuses to take the necessary, appropriate action to help and assist in the protection of their employees human rights. Want to find out more about the Human Rights Claim I am about to file against Adecco and London Life, Head Office, London, Ontario Canada...email: freedom59@msn.com It's time WE ALL stood up for OUR HUMAN RIGHTS and stop this abuse!
lack of ethical behaviour
I would never work for Adecco ever again, the way in which the structure is set up is to exploit people that are desperate for a job by keeping their employees intimidated and grovelling. The pay is not worth the abuse.
I was bullied for 4 months and nothing was done about this even though HR knew about the incidents.
Once I was denied paid annual leave for half a week that i was entitled to. (In this case I was trying to book paid annual leave which i was entitled, 2 months in advance, which in most places are fine, it was within the holiday year).
After 2 threatening meetings, intimating emails from the Adecco recruitment staff and various complaints which i made to management, they finally let me have what i was entitled to. This lasted 2 weeks and was highly stressful in an already stressful environment.
The recruiters working there are ### and have no concept of morals.

This company is a disgrace. I sent over my C.V to the Hertfordshire, Welwyn Garden City branch (UK) and I asked to make an appointment to register with them. After confirming an appointment for today, I received a call from another agency two hours before I was due to meet with Adecco asking me to go for an interview on the same day, so of course I contacted Adecco to rearrange my appointment. I was rudely told that my interview clearly has taken precedence over meeting with them. I told them of course as I am trying to find work! He then told me that with this in mind he will not reschedule my appointment and good luck with my job search. He also told me that my meeting with him today was actually for a job at the branch. He had not told me this when I had Emailed him last week, or sent over a job description of any kind. All the Email said was a date and time to come in and register. I am not interested in working in branch but he seemed to think that he was just going to interview me for this position without telling me anything about it, so of course I would of been unprepared.
At the end of the day they are a recruitment agency so surely they should understand that if I am called for a job interview I am going to attend it. To be honest after reading all of these complaints I am glad I will not be wasting my time with this company.
no pay
I applied for a job through a separate website and after an interview and trial shift, was informed that I would continue on a temporary basis and therefore my payments will be paid through Adecco. Had I known the awful experience and the stress this supposedly simple process would be, I would have left the job for something else.
I have been working now for 5 weeks and on the 4th I was made a permanent member of staff, which meant bye bye Adecco! However I had still not been paid a penny for my hard work. I had fulfilled my end of the contract by showing up to work on time and doing a good job, yet they think that it is acceptable to put off someone's pay. I have called every important manager and CEO of both my company and Adecco but they seem to think its a game of how many times they can bounce me back to the other, placing the blame on each other.
Needless to say I am very upset as I have bills to pay and have borrowed left right and centre to pay them. Adecco have royally screwed me over and by the sounds of some of the complaints on here I'm not the only one. Adecco doesn't seem to care about complaints as they make it extremely difficult to place one, but hopefully my experience will urge others to stay away from Adecco! Don't be the person who gets ignored and not paid!

After reading your posting, I know no more about what happened to you than I did before. However, it's clear that your communication skills are far below most job's requirements & that likely contributed to whatever problems you may have had. Basic oral and written communication skills in English are essential if you want a good shot at getting and keeping a job. Your comment was written below 3rd grade standards.
I strongly suggest that you work on these skills. It'll help you in your work and personal life. If you can't find remedial classes in your area, go to your library, & look up the Khan Academy online. Watch every single lesson on English vocabulary, grammar, & writing until you master these skills. Read books in your spare time, too! May you have more success in the future!
terrible service
I worked under a different temp-agency at a job. That job decided to start using Adecco and only Adecco natiowide (terrible choice) and all persons were forced to either switch over to Adecco or cease working there. Reluctantly I switched and I, along with roughly 50 other call center temps, continued to experience problems with this company - particularly the branch located in Moosic. The receptionists there were just the start of the issue. Walking in the door you might wait for 10-15 minutes for them to stop chatting/smoking outside and come in to acknowledge you (all the while you would hear the phone ringing with no one to answer it). These people were less then customer friendly or helpful in any sense of the word. Having already been doing the job my agency was required to do next to nothing except ensure my check was cleared (which was handled by another part of the company entirely leaving me to wonder what the branch it's self actually did). In the several years I worked through Adecco any problems that did arise never warranted a phone call TO ME... instead the person who approved my pay would get a message, then my boss and that filtered to me. I probably spoke to my actual branch 5-10 times over the roughly two years I worked with them and this is WITH my attempts to contact THEM. I was even met with their office number being DISCONNECTED more than once.
The highlight of my experience with them revolved around me taking a trip to SC (12 hours away from where I live in PA) in which I was to be paid during and would be my funding for the return trip. Thursday I left expecting to see the funds but they were not there, I call and get informed I get paid Friday's and just to wait... but I -always- have my pay on Thursday so I knew something was wrong. Friday comes and I am now in SC with no pay, I call again and get told they're working on it. I retrieve my brother who recently graduated form the Marines and begin to head back to PA - however having still not been paid I now need my brother to pay for gas... and food.. and a hotel room. This was embarrassing - especially since this was the first time in 3 months I had seen him (and he's my younger brother). Saturday I'm back home and get told nothing can be done now since it's the weekend.. so still having not got my pay I call again on Monday and get told I have to call the billing department. I then get told that they can START working on this issue as THEY HAD NOT RECEIVED ANY COMMUNICATION FROM MY BRANCH AS OF YET. I ended up not being paid until the following Thursday and wasted the few days I did have with my brother before he got sent for further training.
I have since had multiple issues with this branch and their lack of communication skills is staggering - among other things. I have never known a less professional company and coming to end of my current assignment I will sooner be a bum then work through these people again. They are worthless in every sense of the word and I am outright disgusted that they've been getting roughly 50% of what I make for doing less then nothing - they didn't find my job, they didn't help during my job and I surely don't want to be involved after my job. I will be working with "One Source" hence forth.
preventing me from getting unemployment benefits - any suggestions??
I got laid off last year from the company I had been employment at for some years due to what else, greed. My entire dept lost there job so I had been receiving unemployment benefits until I took a job with a staffing agency affiliated with adecco. I took a contract job which I told them I was only interested in full time or temp to hire as i'm single and need benefits. Well long story short this place was a hell hole from the minute I started working there. I called the agency to let them know which i'm sure they already knew that I was at the 8th person to do this job in just a few years b/c the company and people were soooo awful to be around. I was basiclly told that the company I worked at was there customer and that if I needed to leave to give a two weeks notice! So it all comes to a head and my contract was ended which was fine with me. I re-opened my unemployment claim that I still had funds available that I did not use up. This employment agency reported to the state that it was determined that I had quit since I didn't check in with them when my job ending! They refuse to retract the information b/c I had singed something months ago in my paperwork that stated I was required to stay in regular touch with them to prevent any issues with receiving unemployment benefits until they find me I guess another horrible job. Ive never worked as a contractor, I was told they would circle back around with me which I already assumed wouldn't happen b/c it's very clear they work for the business not the poor people that get suckered into this wondeful jobs, again i'm sure they were aware of the turn-over rate when I was being wooed into taking the job b/c I needed more income, but whem I wemt to them for help, it was very clear that I was not their concern. So my employment is on hold, possibly for several weeks based on mis-information. Any suggestions on were to go to next? The local agency has made it clear that i'm wrong and theirs nothing they can do! Well their wasn't anything I could do for me when they were making $ off me for several months. Just looking for a contact to compalin at corp otherwise i'm stuck waiting on my state to resolve which could be weeks, maybe another month!
Seriously, there has got to be something we can do?!?!? I worked 40 hour weeks, and barly got paid half of that. whenever I would call tacc or work at home support, I was lucky if I got ahold of someone. but now two months later, i'm still fighting to get my back pay owed to me. must be nice to pay lawyers to lie for your company... adecoo needs to be shut down!
I am going through the same thing! I was on assignment for two weeks and it was terminated because I got sick (medical) and had to call in sick on the 10th day and end up being my last day. Long story short. Why because the client ended the assignment because they were not "secure" and that I may not want to still stay with the assignment. Accounting Principals did not have anymore work for me so I also re-opened my claim. I called EDD to check the status of my benefits and was told that they received a "protest letter" from Accounting Principals (who is owned by the shady people of Addecco in Florida) who LIED and said I was "fired from the company (Accounting Principals) due to essessive tartiness and absences. Even though I was not a salaried "employee" of AP just a contracted temp worker. "Someone" who handles their claims for employe (some third-party company) had deliberately sent this letter to California EDD! I had went through ALL KINDS of HELL to find out just what they hell happend! My recruiter and other ones I spoken with told me they did not send that kind of information. The human resources Generalist told me she spoke with my same recruiters and they said (I really believe she sent that protest letter to EDD) I was fired due to essessive tartiness and absences. I was told by my recruiters again their EDD representative who handles claims "had got the matter straighten out and I have to wait for EDD to process the changes". Meanwhile I call EDD a few times and I am constantly told NOTHING has change or did they receive a retracted statement because my assignment was not ended due to that reason! Never had ANY problems with other temp agencies I worked with but this one! Now as I am homeless, no more money, hungry, no one else like relatives/friends will help me. All because of being HONEST to take any work I could get and not just stay on unemployment... there seems to be a pattern with these folks...
interview
Hi
I am Tahir Selcuk Timur and I would like to file a complaint.I currently live in Istanbul, Turkey. I applied for a job in Philip Morris and I was called by Adecco for the written test.I passed it and called for an interview. I didn't mind at all that the interviewer was my ex girlfriend, that I broke up long time ago.I was insulted by her couple of times during the interview and I have to say that she was not as professional as an Adecco employer should be.I was called today that I was rejected, which wasn't a surprise at all. After living 8 years in Canada, I have moved back to Turkey, and this type of conduct deeply saddened me.
I have known Adecco for long time.Adecco always pays attention to ethical values. I have friends working for Adecco in Canada. However I wasn't even expecting that tragic incident happened to me in Adecco Turkey (Kozyatagi branch in Istanbul)
Like I have stated before, Adecco has a strong brand name. 1 or 2 bad apples can't hurt Adecco's strength. I have just made this complaint because as an individual who believes in Adecco, I didn't feel good to have that bad apple.
Kindest Regards,
Tahir Selcuk Timur
[protected]@yahoo.com
I received several messages from my ex girlfriend, stating that my complaint was affecting her career negatively. I personally hope that she has realized her mistake and feels sorry for her behaviour. Hoping that she won't be rude again to anyone again, I decided to delete my complaint.
Thanks,
Selcuk
I actually felt bullied in that office
I applied at Adecco in the spring. Worked three days at a company to wrap up a marketing research study. They simply no longer needed me because that study was over. Since then, I’ve asked for 2nd shift in the summer (kids home) and they never called me until the kids were going back to school and I needed 1st shift (which I clearly specified) Now that I have repeatedly requested first shift, they only call me for 2nd shift jobs. I know what they’re doing; they’re calling me for the jobs nobody else wants.
I was told a job was 9 miles away from where I lived, it took me 30-35 mins to get in the vicinity and google maps gave me different directions. I went back into the Adecco office and told them they misinformed me about the mileage and asked if they had any closer jobs. I was speaking with 1 person and ended up being double teamed by 2 of the Adecco employees. I was laughed at for getting lost and talked down to for asking for a closer job. I am out of school for winter break and wanted something productive to do with my time.
I am an exceptional worker and easy to get along with but I actually felt bullied in that office and am thinking about reporting them to the BBB.
lack of work from my employment agency
The purpose of this complaint is not only to compare employment agencies, but to note an injustice. I have a dismissed misdemeanor. It’s the same as expunged. But the problem is it doesn’t matter. When employment applications are filled out, the agency asks if you have any convictions. Dismissed or expunged means no conviction, yet employers still have access to this (what should be considered personal) information when I am considered for a job. Once this information was (inevitably) known, I’m at least greatful that Adecco has offered, although they have offered jobs which are not my requested shift and just not feasible.
On the other hand OFFICE TEAM (ROBERT HALF)COMPLETELY COLD-SHOULDERS ME. I have called them numerous times and been put into someone’s voicemail. I NEVER get a call back. It’s a guarantee I will not talk to anyone but the receptionist and a machine. I realize I should give up, but I feel like there has been some discrimination here, and it is wrong. The least they could do is acknowledge my calls and return them.
racism
I applied at Adecco on October 29, 2011. and when I call for an assignment Adeccco staff ask me if I speak Spanish and I say no then they tell me that we don't have anything now. I been calling for 3 days and I feel because I'm not mexican they wont hire me. I feel Adecco is operating in racism.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Maybe that specific assignment required a Spanish speaking person. I don't think they will chose you to get the job done if you don't speak the language. It has nothing to do with racism..
hello I just graduated college and now I am looking for a job at a staffing agency and contacted Adecco in camino del rio in San Diego ca. I talked to Lisa Garcia and she is very rude to everyone that calls like she hates working there. I have friends who referred me to adecco and said specifically do not get involved with Lisa Garcia. her co worker gladly gave me the contact to corporation saying she is rude. all I asked for was a job in light industrial or assembly and she started grunting blowing her breath into the phone stating in a rude manner you need to call a different branch. This branch does not do light industry. at that time I hung up the phone because she was not professional at all. She calls back and says you are fired and do not ever call adecco again after finding out her co worker has found me a job two months away which you can tell it wasnt a serious job being two months away. They lie tell you there are jobs to get you of the phone then find a reason to not hire you just so an associate can have it.

Adecco does not try to help minorities get jobs. And if they do they try to get you jobs at the bottom of the barrol. Look for another job agency that sees beyond the color of your skin and sees the years of experience. I have sent many resumes for job openings and have never ever gotten a call back about any of there job listing. I have sent a resume with refrences and they dont even call your references. This company only hires non minorities. Have you gone to there office here in Boston or in Portland Maine, there all white and they look at you like you just walked into a clan meeting.
Trust me your not alone.. It happens in California as well. You have to go thru jumps and hurdles to get the, "best jobs".
You are not alone.. It occurs in California also.
I would have to agree with Eddie on this. Addecco Staffing here in Minnesota is very discriminating towards people of color. I have over 2 years experience of medical clean room assembly and soldering but yet they overlook my skills because my name on resume (Tou Vang) is too foreign and my slight accent does not fall into the interest of the interviewer over the phone. What made me even more angrier is that they hired an old white woman to fill the position I was applying for without any prior medical assembly experience. All this Affirmative Action policy they claim to go by is nothing but lies! It's more like, "If you're not white, you better take a hike!"
Actually, Adecco has won multiple awards for their Diversity Initiatives. They partner with Magic Johnson (Magic Workforce Solutions) and have executives that sit on the national Urban League board. Have you considered that you aren't a great candidate for any openings? Based on the lack of grammar skills in your post I'm assuming that your resume might not be the most exciting to recruiters who see hundreds per week. In a tight employment market it's very important to present yourself in a way that excites potential employers
