Asda eastbourne store
Having arrived to shop at ASDA in Eastbourne my brother went to get a mobility scooter as I CANNOT WALK! The security guard told him that the mobility scooters could not leave the store under any circumstances. So he got me a wheelchair which was too small and very painful to sit iin. But we managed to get into the store where I transferred myself into the scooter. After my shopping was done I went to the security guard and complained about the wheelchair. He ssid that the mobility scooter must not on any circumstances leavethe store anc so my choice was to use the wheelchair or walk. So I explained that it was ridiculous and drove out the car park with my hand over the key so he couldn't remove it. I finally got to my car and got in it. He said being fat was not a disability, so I was in the wrong. Another Adsa worker came out and took his side. I offered to give them my name address, blue badge number and license plate and they could pursue the matter. They declined. But if this is how they treat disabled people, I will not go there agsin
Desired outcome: Idiot policies
Refund request on poor product not replied for two months
A tin of chopped tomatoes has larva. I requested refund via the company's online form on 8 October 2020 and received a confirmation from the company on 9 October 2020 saying 'Our team will be in touch shortly'. I have not heard a word from the company since then.
The confirmation 'Requsting a Refund - 201008-012194' was sent from
Asda Customer Service. I replied to the email earlier today only to find that 'This mailbox is no longer in use.' Why did the company direct a customer online to an email address that is no longer in use?
So, two issues are
(1) product quality is below expectation;
(2) customer service online guidelines lead customers to nowhere.
Item not Delivered
I agree that ASDA's customer service policy is atrocious! I ordered an item
However, I disagree with the comments regarding the actual service agents in Cape Town. Perhaps the 6 different agents I spoke to were all friendly to me because I too am South African and treated them with respect, as it's not their fault ASDA or it's third parties are such a joke. In my experience English people can be very abrupt and rude - perhaps without realising it, and perhaps many of the above calls were made out of total anger/frustration (which is understandable considering the stories!) and these emotions were taken out on the customer service agents. They are simply trying to help out customers based on the information they have access to on their screens. South African's are warm and of the friendliest people in the world. They chatted with me about the weather and life in London and went out of their way to try and assist me. I was even given a voucher to cover the cost of reordering the item that wasn't delivered. I do think ASDA should re-think having their call centre so far away, but if you are going to outsource, South Africa really is not the worst place...
