The Kw rate was one of the best I found for a 12 month agreement with no cancelation fees
The Kw rate was one of the best I found for a 12 month agreement with no cancelation fees. I signed up by phone because there were some computer issues, probably as a result of Covid 19. The representative was extremely helpful. She answered all of my questions and got me signed up.

It was easy to sign-up with AEP...quick and easy...and they had the lowest price, all things considered. Also, it is an *** company...Go Buckeyes !
Was signed up for this service last year. I never authorized signing up for this service in the first place. I had NRG as a provider and called to have them removed, I asked to be put back on regular AEP. They signed me up for AEP energy. I had no idea AEP energy and AEP Ohio were two different companies and that they werent signing me up for regular AEP Ohio, which is what I requested. Ive been paying a heck of a lot more on my *** when my average monthly plan says i should only be paying around $57 a month and every month Im paying close to $100. I called and canceled and the dude on the phone was nice and canceled it, just want to make people aware there are two different companies and to verify who you are signed up with. To the company, please dont sign up people for something they did not authorize or request.
AEP charged our Bank account, we know nothing about them, and live in
I love AEP for their great customer service, Very pleasant over the phone
I love AEP for their great customer service, Very pleasant over the phone. I think that's a great idea that they want to use tour first name when communicating, Makes me feel like I'm talking to a friend. I just hope no one goes lower than their price, so I won't have to leave them.

The representative was helpful and understood my problem. His instructions were easy to follow.
AEP rightfully so wanted to trim our tree away from the Power line
AEP rightfully so wanted to trim our tree away from the Power line. We support this. But what we do not support is what they did to our tree. Trim is one thing but hacking our tree and making it ugly is other. This is totally wrong. The tree is totally damaged now. Thanks for nothing.

Impeccable customer service! I appreciated very much of the professionalism of the representatives possessed. Enrolling was more than pleasant experience. Excellent!
Easy to talk to and gave me a better rate than the gas company.
My representative was very professional and courteous. All my questions and concerns were addressed in a timely manner.
Hope the rates drop in the future as Im on a fixed budget.
I wanted to cancel my contract with AEP when it expired
I wanted to cancel my contract with AEP when it expired. I communicated my choice to cancel using their online chat tool. Instead of canceling the contract, they renewed it without my permission and changed the terms to month-to-month. I am still trying to get in touch with them. I do not recommend this company.

This is the fourth time in the past month that we have lost power
This is the fourth time in the past month that we have lost power. One of those days being the hottest day of the summer so far. What is going on with AEP? Who is going to reimburse us for all the found that has gone bad. We had to throw away hundreds of dollars worth of food. I work from home and missed days of work because of the power outages. This is RIDICULOUS

Recently called their customer service department & spoke to a young lady who truly embodied service
Recently called their customer service department & spoke to a young lady who truly embodied service. My questions were answered promptly, she walked me through getting the programs I wanted, & made sure my sign up went smoothly. She was patient without being patronizing & I never felt stupid for not immediately understanding what I needed to do. AEP went above & beyond my expectations with this representative on their staff.

Today AEP interrupted service for numerous customers to aid in restoring power elsewhere
Today AEP interrupted service for numerous customers to aid in restoring power elsewhere. The power outage is in Delaware County. The service interruption occurred in the southern region. I'm skeptical of their motives. They might be redirecting power to other areas or selling it out of state. As a public utility, their actions raise questions about their operational allowances. Our infrastructure was intact until they deemed it problematic.

AEP has been my supplier of electricity for many, many years and has endeavored to always keep the electricity flowing
AEP has been my supplier of electricity for many, many years and has endeavored to always keep the electricity flowing. There is another supplier in the area that services the rural areas and I have heard nothing but horror stories from people that receive their power from them. Poor outage service, this is due to no equipment to get to the area where the power lines are run, this has changed some but not enough to make a differance in service when it counts.

The rates were good
The rates were good. I actually like AEP, AEP Energy is another story. I signed up in Sept or Oct of 2019. Since then they have missed the deadline to send their portion of my electric bill to AEP. The first time it happened it gave me a $500.00+ electric bill the following month. Now they did it again. They sent their portion to AEP 2 days after the bill went out, sooo once again I will be getting a larger bill then what was budgeted for. So I strongly recommend to look elsewhere if you need to budget your money.

I have been a customer of AEP for a number of years
I have been a customer of AEP for a number of years. I feel I've always gotten a great price and great service from them through the years. This was the first year I had a question regarding my current contract. I emailed them and within a matter of hours [not days] I received a response. I realized the mistake was mine in that I confused my electric contract with my gas contract [not with AEP]. I was very appreciative of their response and explanation. I'm pretty sure I'll be going with AEP for my gas contract too when my current contract expires.
AEP power outage in my area caused numerous issues
AEP shut off power in my area this week. Our power was off for two days. You could not breathe because it was too hot outside. All food in the refrigerator was ruined and had to be thrown out. It was necessary to go to a hotel because you could not sleep. They should have told us ahead of time that they were going to shut the power off. Traffic was beyond horrible because the lights were out and police were not directing traffic. AEP needs to do something to stop this problem. It happens on my street frequently where the power is out. I have to throw food out and replace everything. It is too expensive for electricity. Summer bills are high and so are Winter bills. I was reading where one person said they should install surge protectors. I'm beginning to think a back up generator is necessary.

I have been a customer of AEP for a few years
I have been a customer of AEP for a few years. I recently moved to a condo down the hall from where I was living. I just wanted to have my contract with AEP move to my new ComEd account. Sadly, they said they can't do that and that I would need to start a new contract at a much higher price with them. It's not that they can't it's that they won't. ComEd does close the account and create a new one. ComEd doesn't charge me a different price because I move. AEP does charge me a different price because they won't honor my current contract. It disappointing because up until now I have only had a good experience using AEP. Today the only thing anyone sells is customer service. I believe AEP can do better, should do better, and wants to do better in handling customer moves. It's programming...not rocket science. Please honor my current contract on my move.

Something came up that made me want to confirm that AEP was the best provider for me
Something came up that made me want to confirm that AEP was the best provider for me. I went to PAPowerSwitch and did the same comparison I did when I switched to AEP - because at that time they offered a fixed rate and a very competitive price. In the interim I received a letter from AEP when my contract ran out and read it carefully to be sure that nothing drastic had changed. Things did change, they moved me to a variable rate and then massively increased the rate over the initial 12 month fixed contract.. My electric bill appears to be more than twice the comparison rate I find on PAPower Switch. I cannot find the letter, and the AEP representative was unable to help me to find it so that I could re-read it. Unlike telephone companies where all documents pertaining to my account are online for me to reference, AEP does not have this letter available when I access my account on their web site. So, even though I read the letter to be sure that nothing significant had changed, I was still fooled. I fired them and moved to another company.

Received a collections letter in the mail today saying if I did not pay $412.39 by tomorrow they would drop me from their supply, early contract
Received a collections letter in the mail today saying if I did not pay $412.39 by tomorrow they would drop me from their supply, early contract termination fee, and pursue collections and/or legal actions. Called AEP Ohio to find out what this was all about since my bill is always paid every month. They said not to worry about it, my bill was paid, and that AEP Energy (which uses almost the same exact logo as AEP Ohio) is an alternate supplier and not affiliated with them. Since when did I have an alternate supplier I asked?! Turns out I was forced into using them by NOT replying to a junk mail letter about alternate suppliers..apparently I had to opt out. So I called AEP Energy and they explained the same thing to me about opting out. They also stated I didn't owe anything and that letter was a standard letter they send when they don't receive payment from AEP Ohio (they received 2 payments in July apparently, not sure why). I personally was good on my payments, but AEP Energy sends me a one day notice nastygram like that?!?! Threatening me with legal action and shutoff? And I never signed any contract at all! BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES, period. So, since I never signed anything, I vocally opted out of their service. Not doing business with a company like this who hiddenly signs you up then sends a one day notice threatening disconnect and legal action when my bill is paid (on time I might add). I didnt need this wasted time and stress in my life right now, and no one else should have to deal with that immediate fright I experienced either.

I want my AEP monthly Electric bill analyzed for KWH rates now versus the past 3-5 years
I want my monthly Electric bill from AEP analyzed to compare the current KWH rates charged against those from the past 3-5 years. My monthly charges keep increasing, even though I use minimal electricity. I only have essential electric needs and no extra appliances or computers, so my bills should reflect only the basic charges. Despite discussing this with AEP, my bills continue to rise. A few years ago, my bill was around $20, whereas this past January, it was $84.41. I request a review of my account for the past 3-5 years for any misbilling and seek a refund for any discrepancies. Additionally, if I am on levelized billing, I want to opt-out and pay only for my actual monthly usage. I insist on having my meter read monthly.

There has been a dramatic increase in my utility bills. The cost doubled within the last month despite no new changes in electricity usage within the residence.
We are disputing charges on our account for a third party supplier because we never signed up for a third party supplier. When we contacted AEP -Ohio we were informed that we signed up for this program; but we had not signed up for anything. This did not occur on our account until after the major blackout last month in June. We want to have these charges removed. We were informed that people were in our area and signing people up, yet we didn't agree to this program. In addition to this, we were not compensated for losses due to the blackout. We would appreciate assistance in clarification of these issues.
The developer of our newly constructed home has been communicating with AEP since February to connect our power
The developer of our newly constructed home has been communicating with AEP since February to connect our power. After several failed attempts, the developer requested that I submit a work order to AEP to facilitate and escalate the request. On May 18, I set up an account (#***) and submitted a work order (#***) to start service. In the last month, I called at least 15x to get an update as to when we can expect service. The answer is always "you're on the schedule pending weather" but no one ever shows up to do work even after weeks of sunny days. It's almost August and we still don't have power. We can't get our occupancy permit until we get electricity. I am running out of people to call to help us get connected. No one will give me a timeframe. It's been months. We need power. Is this going to happen this year?

I have small convenience store (35 x 35 cinderblock building)
I have small convenience store (35 x 35 cinderblock building). Located in unincorporated London, WV 24126. Due to cover we are only open 3 days a week. HVAC system is cut off and 2 coolers when closed. Charges for electric is 297.24 and 284.85 for Demand Charge. This Demand Charge is not explained and I haven't been told at what percentage rate this is based on. They also add on Refilled Charges and Consumer Rate Relief Charges from 10/13, 11/11, 12/14, with no explanations when these bills were previously paid in full. When customers pay for services, I can't send them a bill and ask for more money three or four months later with no explanation. There aren't any other businesses in this area except for a large coal mine and there are residential homes larger than this store that do not pay as much and do not get charged a demand charge.

I received a letter from my electric company AES OHIO stating they have received a request to change my supplier to AES ENERGY. ? I did NOT REQUEST CHANGE ? I told the door to door ppl NO ? I continued to get letters even 4 final notices which I sent first letter back saying NO NOW there is a fraudulent request to change my supplier without my permission and saying NO several times. I did NOT sign any request nor over the phone. The few choices we have here nowadays I strongly object a company taking away my choice (stealing) my choice. No means no. NO is a complete sentence?

In July, unexpected changes in energy service terms by AEP led to higher fees.
In July, we received unexpected information from AEP. We were informed about an opt-out option, but it required paying over $300 in cancellation fees. After settling this amount, we resumed AEP as our provider. From January 2022, our electric bills soared from $180 to over $600 monthly due to delivery fees, with AEP unable to explain the cause. Eventually, we discovered the hike was due to being enrolled in AEP's green energy program without our consent. To revert to our previous service and rates, we face another $300 fee. AEP seems to switch customers to costlier contracts without notice, leaving us without recourse due to the lack of alternatives. It's crucial for consumers to urge local and state representatives to investigate such practices, as we currently lack adequate protections.

AEP engery is my third-party supplier and all of a sudden I got an adjustment of over $6500 on my *** for no reason. Our office was pretty much closed due to the pandemic. There was no outstanding balance from the last 9 years.
AEP wiring crew installed overhead wiring across the alley to connect from a power transformer on one side of the alley to a customer's service on the other side of the alley. The overhead wiring, per AEP's policy and handbook, shows that it has to be 16' to the lowest point in the alley. I personally measured the overhead wiring at the lowest point in the alley and it is only 14' clearance. I had an AEP technician come by but he refused to correct the problem. Another electrical service is being installed at the same location and will undoubtedly have the same clearance problem. This is a safety issue and dangerous to the public and commercial trucks that enter this alley.

I never got any electric turned on for over two weeks I had called the designed worker over 500 times an not once did she answer or call me back however on a Friday she called my wife's phone thank God and they absolutely was the rudest company I've ever spoke with. They didn't help me on any level. Very highly unprofessional. They said they're will never be anymore electric at the specific location and that mom had to pay the full *** of *** before it could ever be turned back on. I received a **** from AEP Energy for $18.57 for service September -October
I received a *** from AEP Energy for $18.57 for service September -October . I have never agreed to this service. They state it is a program aggregation which I was never involved with. They say we should have opted out of the program. We received a *** a couple years ago for $700+ which we ended up paying. We receive our electric thru Ohio *** not AEP. I informed them at that time I wanted nothing to do with AEP. Now we are told it is an annual thing and I have to opt out every year! To me this is a scam. A person receives a piece of mail from an energy company other than the one you deal with they will most likely ignore it. They stated our community voted to have AEP which is included in our Ohio ***. Why would any community vote to have an additional charge on their electric ***? Please look into this scam and put a stop to it. Thank you in advance for addressing this issue.

I was fraudulently enroll with AEP Energy, *** without my knowledge or consent. They begin sending me bills without my knowledge and without any informed consent. I purchased my home in 2018 and sign an agreement with Duke Energy to provide my electrical service. I have paid only my Duke Energy *** throughout this period and upon calling Duke Energy today about outrageous charges, they informed me that they were billing me but not providing my service. They connected me to AEP Ohio, who had no idea who I was but told me to contact AEP Energy, ***. Upon speaking with their employee she informed me without my permission I was enrolled with them in March . She further stated it was a vote by Batavia Township, of which I am not part of, and have been told repeatedly by the township that they have no jurisdiction in my area. I was approached last week (week of 5/3) by an agent of AEP Energy, Inc
I was approached last week (week of 5/3) by an agent of AEP Energy, Inc. about switching energy providers from AEP Ohio. The agent asked for my account number to do a comparison between my current energy bill and what they would charge me. I told him I did not want the service switched because I would moving out of state within 2 months. However, this morning (5/10) I received an email regarding a change in my energy provider from AEP Ohio to AEP Energy. I did not authorize this change. Unfortunately, I do not remember the exact date/time or the agent's name. However, I'm sure the company has records of who signed me up for the AEP Energy account. I called the company today and was unable to contact anyone regarding the fraud. I would like the company to investigate this agent and I would like a resolution to this situation on their side. AEP Ohio was helpful in cancelling the switch. So, my account will stay with them.

AEP Energy rep claimed Ohio would no longer supply my gas, urging a switch to their service in April .
A representative of AEP Energy visited me in April , claiming that Ohio could no longer supply my gas, insisting I switch to their service. They stated I had no choice and requested to see my gas bill to verify rates. The representative was pushy and insisted on a link follow-up to maintain gas services. Later, I realized the switch was optional and didn't consent. Despite canceling enrollment with AEP, by August , I discovered they had made the switch without my approval, reflecting a deceptive practice.

6/14/2022 our electricity was shut off without notice, it was later communicated by AEP Ohio that it was planned
6/14/2022 our electricity was shut off without notice, it was later communicated by AEP Ohio that it was planned. I signed up for outage notifications however they did not work. It was also during a heat wave with temperatures as high as 93 with heat index of 112. During the outage we had to use fuel for our cars to get air conditioning for our kids who are ages 4 and under during current high gas prices. In addition our pets were at risk of overheating. If we would have been notified in advance of this planned outage we would have made arrangements. Lastly, our groceries went bad because the outage lasted 14 hours and inflation has caused prices for groceries and goods to be very high. This is an embarrassment from a privatization company in charge of the sole electricity for one of the most populous cities in ***. I will not be paying anything until I receive resolution for the emotional distress caused to my family for 14 hours and for the monetary loss of fuel and groceries.

Since July my AEP Ohio **** for account [protected] has almost tripled for three billing cycles
Since July my AEP Ohio *** for account [protected] has almost tripled for three billing cycles. The prior bills for a full year from July -June ranged from $40-$70, but since July my bills have been $144, $149 and now $160. I have contacted AEP by phone and by livechat on their website to seek assistance, but I have been hung up on and disconnected on. I have shown respect and patience with all representatives I have spoken to, but they have all provided the same incorrect reason for the *** increases, stating that my energy usage has increased due to the weather temperature increasing. This is simply incorrect as I do not use my AC unit to cool my home and have not made any changes on the amount of electricity i am using. On the previous billing cycle I was out of town for a week (1/4 of the billing cycle) which would surly indicate a drop in energy usage, but my *** increased. Clearly something is not right and I have not been able to reach a resolution.

There are four incidents with this company
There are four incidents with this company. October - December and January and *** 2022. This company AEP Energy signed me up without my consent to use their company for electric. I did not receive or approve this to happen. I called them in *** when I realized what was going on to dispute these charges. I spoke to a gentleman and he stated they would remove the charges. When I received *** electric *** and they had added a new charge of *** I then called a second time the lady I spoke to stated they would not reimburse me for any charges. She even repeated the earlier conversation to me that I had with the gentleman. She stated the approval came from *** do not deal with anyone in ***. I had to pay these charges to keep my electric *** from being late. This is just not right and I should not be charged for something I did not sign up for or approve. And they should not be allowed to continue charging you once you dispute this. I don't know I am just so aggravated with the way they do business and I have talked to numerous people that are still trying to get this resolved. Thank you for your time on this matter and any help you can give.

I contacted AEP to initiate service at my residence but encountered issues.
I contacted AEP to initiate service at my residence. After starting the process, I got a letter stating I needed to pay a connection deposit within 10 days or my request would be canceled. I promptly paid via the automated system. When I inquired about service activation, I was told there was an issue and was transferred to a representative. She insisted on having my trailer's title before activating the service due to prior electricity theft. I explained the title was stolen during a burglary at the previous owner's home. Despite my situation, she accused me of lying and stood firm on requiring the title. Now I'm unsure how to proceed.

I used this company as my electric supplier for the past 2 years
I used this company as my electric supplier for the past 2 years. They mis-appropriated the money I would pay monthly to BGE(my electric utility) ,as per the *** I received, to an incorrect account. This happened 2 years in a row and despite being on a "budget plan", I was hit in a single month with incredibly large fees to "make up" for the money they mis-appropriated. I called MULTIPLE times and spent hours on the phone with various people and was told I would get called back by a supervisor- that never occurred on the first time. The same thing happened the following year when I was hit all of a sudden with an electric *** for over 1800$. I am not disputing I owed the money, but I was on budget billing for a reason. Instead of it being amortized over 12 months it came all at once (and this occurred TWICE). The supervisor swore to me BOTH TIMES "I will handle this and it will be rectified". I just got my most recent electric *** and the problem is STILL there. Additionally, I called 3 days ago to cancel their service and just go back to the utility as my supplier. I was assured "everything is taken care of". When I called today to deal with the current issue I just double checked and there is no record of my service being cancelled. I have wasted hours upon hours of my valuable time with this company. Their customer service staff is very pleasant and nice. I have had an awful experience with them

We the people should b treated fairly. I was told I would have power by Monday no later than Tuesday. Can't believe it take a week after I pay the *** to get the power on. One of those fragments hit my car hood and broke my windshield. Immediately, I stopped, so did the vehicle riding in front of me. I got down to talk to the *** workers. At this point, one of the *** trucks takes off, leaving one worker there. I approached him, his name is ***. He apologized and explained that as he was working on the lamp post, the box exploded and fragments fell to the ground. He even showed a piece of fragment to my husband explaining that is what hit my car. *** took a picture of the windshield and hood and provided me his cell number and gave me a WR# *** with ***'s customer service claims telephone number. He said they'd help me there. I called ***'s number, *** and they provided me with an order claim #*** and told I'd hear back within 5 to 7 business days. I received a letter from the *** Risk & Insurance Management explaining their investigation and how they found no liability on their part as the incident was caused by an animal getting on their equipment which was beyond their control. That's insane. *** never mentioned an animal causing the explosion. *** is just pushing my matter aside and expect me to stay quiet. This is their wrongdoing, and don't want to take the responsibility. *** didn't block the street as they worked on the lamp post, traffic was flowing smoothly. I am attaching ***'s response letter with a photo of my broken windshield which I need replaced. A month prior to this accident, i had my windshield replaced as I am on a leased vehicle contract. I cannot turn in my vehicle with a broken windshield. I need it replaced.
