Affordable Dentures & Implants / Affordable Care review: Disrespected and cursed at by dentist

I had an appointment with Affordable Dentures and Implants 9747 Sam Furr rd Huntersville NC 28078 on 12/20/23 at 8:30

A couple days prior I lost my partial. I remembered seeing a television ad with A.D.A.I and it said that they offered same day service in some cases. So called and scheduled an appointment. I arrived on time, signed in and received a free consultation.

I explained my situation and that I needed a top partial replacement asap (I had a speaking engagement along with photos in two days.

The consultant informed me that they could provide me with a new partial the next day but, in order for that to happen they would have to make it out of a different material than the original one.

I originally had a soft partial matching my lower which would take 2 weeks to get back so I opted for the metal partial which could be produced within 24 hrs.

I was then escorted back to an examination room and the process began x rays, molding etc... After everything was finished, I was scheduled the next day 12/21/23 at 12:30 to receive the replacement.

I arrived the next day at 12:30 and after a brief wait a dental assistant came and escorted me to a treatment room. As I sat in the dental chair the assistant went to retrieve my partial. He comes back a short time later with a dental tray and my partial placed on a napkin. He handed me the tray and I removed the new partial and placed them on my mouth. The only reason why I am Illustrating this is because at my normal dentistry. The dentist will perform this task with a pair of surgical gloves on to ensure the proper fit and that the insertion is done correctly since partial is new or different (no biggie). Once I inserted the partial in place I asked for the mirror and noticed immediately that the #6 cuspid/canine tooth was missing; which is located within my smile radius, so very noticeable. I pointed it out to the assistant and told him I was very dissatisfied and not acceptable. He had no explanation, so he went to get the dentist.

In walks a young man who introduces himself as Dr. Campbell. He explains to me that due to the type of material in which the partial was made they were not able to put a tooth in that gap, because the material will not hold a tooth that small, and it would break off. I stated to him that this information was not at one time conveyed to me during my consultation, and that this was pertinent enough that i should have been advised of this forehand instead of after the fact. He then tried to make it seem as though they were doing me a favor since they had a short window to get them done because of my urgency to get them. As I began to respond to that statement that he was implying. To my surprise he stopped me a said " If you would shut the F**k up! That statement caught me totally off guard. I was traumatized. I am 58 yrs. of age and never have i experienced that type of egregious behavior by no human being and definitely never a medical professional who should display decorum and etiquette.

I responded to Dr. Campbell by stating to him that at no time during our conversation did I say or address him with expletives or disrespect in him in any way. He responded by telling me that I have two options; I can take the substandard partial or receive my money back and this was stated in a brash and somewhat smug tone.

After being traumatized from suffering this mental anguish I went to the receptions desk, received my money and left. I was so upset that I could not immediately drive home because the gravity of the incident left me feeling lightheaded. I had to walk the strip Mall where the practice is located in order to clear my head and process what hand just occurred.

Twenty minutes later I am in my car and my cellphone began to ring (its Dr. Campbell) after he asks for me by name, he starts off by saying " I know you are going to write a review and I don't care" he stated that the reason for the call was to apologize for his behavior.

; that he was out of character.

Now when a person begins an apology with " I don't care" the apology cannot be contrite, but he is a young man (early to mid 30s) so that was his immaturity. My guess is that before he could be humble, he had to come off like Timmy Tough Nuts". I stated to him that I was old enough to be his father I then asked him "would you tell your father to shut the F**k up? his response told me he just doesn't get it! CLICK! I hung up the phone... All I have to say is that I am done with Affordable Dentures and Implants. If this is the kind of professional that represents their brand, I will have to take my business elsewhere and I will be sharing my experience with Dr. Campbell to ALL.
