I am filing complaints with the Attorney General of Florida and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

I have lived in 10 states in America from Massachusetts to California, through Alabama and Georgia to Florida. I have moved more than 20 times in my life.

This THIRTY MILE MOVE from North Miami Beach to Delray Beach, FL was by far the worst experience I have ever had. This company from the Owners on down, are extortionists.

I had an 1,100 foot apartment. TINY. No room for kitchenette furniture, no room for a big sectional sofa or big furniture, I hate to cook so I have 4 plates, 4 bowls, 4 forks, no blenders bread makers or kitchen appliances, not even a toaster. It was very easy to describe to the quote “specialist” over the phone; I had 2 king bedroom sets (NO bureaus or chests of drawers), 3 TVs all over 55 inches, a small sectional, a few end tables and a small desk.

I got 3 quotes before my move and All My Sons was the least expensive and they are supposed to be “The preferred mover of the Miami Dolphins”. I packed the kitchen and all the closets myself because that’s easy to save time.

The first ambush with upcharges; they called me a couple of days before the move after I put down the deposit to confirm the day and time and that’s when they inform me about the 18% “Fuel service charge” – 18% added onto the entire bid – a BIG number. At that point, as these thieves are well aware, it’s too late for me to get another mover scheduled, so I have to eat the cost.

Then, on moving day, these 2 [censored]s show up. I later found out that they were both BRAND NEW – 2 weeks old - not only new with the company – they had NO PRIOR MOVING EXPERIENCE. That was obvious and they had no management or tenured representative oversight on the ground which I later found out is protocol at this company.

These fools moved at a snail’s pace. As a metaphor, one of the bedroom sets has a bench at the end of the bed and there are 3 small drawers within. [censored] #1 took out EACH DRAWER and individually wrapped them instead of just wrapping the bench tightly in plastic and blankets with the little drawers in there. That took 25 minutes longer than it should have – and the quote was “just a quote” so when the hours went over, I would be charged.

These two had NO IDEA HOW TO SHUTTLE FURNITURE TO THE ELEVATOR AND THEN DOWN TO THE TRUCK. They were putting one item that was NOT EVEN HEAVY on a dolly at one time – not stacking anything – and wheeling it out. I HAVE VIDEO AND PICTURES OF ALL OF THIS.

One item at a time, so all my stuff ends up in the hallway outside my apartment not even down near the elevator, just outside my apartment door. Then they have to take it from outside my apartment, down to the elevator. By this time, the elevator reservation is expired because anyone could have moved a 10,000 foot house by this time in 3 hours so now these two are taking one item at a time down in the elevator with residents – AND WAITING FOR THE ELEVATOR EACH TIME – NOT EVEN TAKING MORE ITEMS ON THE ELEVATOR WITH THEM.

Fast forward to the end of the day. There is still furniture and items in the garage DOWNSTAIRS IN THE BLISTERING HEAT ALL DAY and THE TRUCK IS FULL. I talk to the Manager on the phone and he informs me that this “happen sometimes and it’s not their responsibility”. I have an 1,100 foot apartment – how could this truck not be big enough?

But then, this Manager DROPS ANOTHER BOMB and goes on to tell me that the workers can only work 10 hours a day by state law including drive time so THEY ARE JUST ABOUT DONE FOR THE DAY. My stuff is still sitting there and THE TRUCK IS THE WRONG SIZE.

So they stand around – on the clock doing nothing - and wait for the right size truck, offload the wrong truck, put everything on the new truck and THEY ARE DONE FOR THE DAY AND I HAVE TO PAY OVERTIME FOR 2 HOURS.

My stuff goes somewhere for the night and I have to get a hotel with my 2 little dogs who are 13 and 15 years old. They were completely traumatized all day having nowhere to go in the blinding heat and then we had to spend $300 on a hotel room in Delray - we got so lucky that there was even vacancy at the last minute in a dog friendly hotel.

The next day, a crew that knew what they were doing showed up, and before they would even start, I had to pay the balance. THEY CHARGED ME FOR ALL OF IT. “STORAGE OVER NIGHT” ALL THE HOURS AND THE OVERTIME – ALL OF IT. AND THEY WOULD NOT RELEASE MY FURNITURE OR START UNLOADING UNTIL I PAID IT. THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS MORE. If my company did not cover this extra cost, I simply would not have had the money to get my things.

I had no choice.

Once they began offloading, little by little over the day, they shared more and more with me about how my move was the “talk of the warehouse” with how badly this move was batched and the protocols that were broken. THEY ACTUALLY FELT SORRY FOR ME AND WHAT I WAS CHARGED AND WHAT I WENT THROUGH. They could not believe I got 2 new guys with no experience, the wrong truck was brought and the OWNER HIMSELF HAD VISIBILITY INTO ALL OF THIS AND SAID, “CHARGE HIM”.

There were missing bolts for the bedroom set and the first set of [censored]s stacked my set of 3 Italian glass nesting tables all the way at the top of the truck. It was wrapped in a blanket but very heavy so when one of the new movers pulled something else away, that table fell to the floor of the truck and smashed.

The next day, I went back down to Miami to the apartment to clean and THERE WERE STILL ITEMS IN THE CLOSET - INCLUDING MY SAFE. They didn’t even pack the entire apartment.

After the investigations are done with the Attorney General and CFPB, I am filing a cause of action in small claims court, I will make sure that ALL OF THESE VIDEOS PICTURES AND COURT DOCUMENTS ARE POSTED ON LINE ON A WEBSITE THAT I WILL CREATE SO THE PUBLIC CAN BE WARNED. It will cost me $15 per month to host a website to make sure that the public does not get burned the way I did.

RUN - DON’T WALK - GET AWAY FROM THIS MOVING COMPANY
