Mixed Experiences with Alliant Credit Union
As someone who values personalized service and efficient banking, my experience with Alliant Credit Union has been a mix of highs and lows. While the online banking platform is convenient and user-friendly, I have encountered some issues with customer service and transparency. The rates offered are competitive, but there have been instances of unexpected fees and delays in resolving issues. It's important to carefully review all terms and conditions before committing to any services. Overall, Alliant Credit Union has potential, but improvements in customer communication and service consistency are needed to truly stand out in the competitive banking landscape.
Best site
Good site forever
Thanks for it and bets support inw orld. I proud for this site and murvelpus site
Have agood sales
The rates are great, but the website is terrible
The rates are great, but the website is terrible. It is always down and the credit card functionality is poor. This card gets stuck more often than any other card I have owned. What is the point of having great rewards if you cannot use the card for purchases? Also, what is the use of having great rewards if you cannot access the website to redeem them? I really wish that the old UAL credit union had been sold to someone else.
After being approved for a $82,365 loan for a new Tesla Model S, just one day later, the loan officer or underwriter, declined my loan application. After I was asked what the car would be used for, I explained the car would be used for investing, which they misunderstood as I plan to use this car for personal use. I am young and often buy and sell cars every few months. I did not want them to view me as a liability, so I used the word 'investing' to better encourage Alliant to work with me. This led them to decline my application and the loan officer called me explaining they will not approve me since I am 'flipping' cars. I have never made any profit on any of the cars, and I buy my cars because they are for personal use. In essence, I was too genuine and honest, and they took advantage of me and caused a massive headache. They don't want me to purchase a car unless I keep it for the 72 months. There is no policy against selling a car early, but they declined me anyway. Please stay away from these people, they had a very apprehensive attitude, and so did the customer service. If you are going to get a loan with Alliant, don't say too much, or they will make you feel miserable.
Going through underwriting for a house. Alliant decides to add a page to my statement with no number, indicating the page. Underwriter wants to know why the statement says 1 of 5 but no page is numbered 5. Alliant has no answer. Underwriter asks Alliant to at least explain what the page is then, Alliant says no, we don't do that. How are you able to send me information about my money, but refuse to explain what you sent to me? No one could give me an answer as to why their policy is, we don't explain ourselves, even though we're handling your money.
The worst bank I have ever dealt with! Took them three months and hundreds of $ in fees before they could tell me why my payments where not posting! Busy refinancing my mortage to avoid having to deal with such incompetence fools - 0 stars!

All right
All right. It seems everyone is complaining about Alliant. Probably people only visit BBB when they have something to complain about. So, here is my experience with Alliant.I have been an Alliant customer for about four years. I chose them based on a comparison of fees (they have virtually none), interest rates on deposits (they are always among the 2-3 highest), online banking (everything can be done from their website/app, or by messaging their customer service) and completeness of service (yes, I occasionally need to write a check, I need a joint account, and I also need an account for my child) . They checked all the boxes, on paper.I decided to give it a try, and I was pleased. Not only did they meet all my expectations in terms of online usability, but the few times I had to interact with their customer service, the process went smoothly. I usually send out a message via their internal messaging app, and get a response in 24h. I also called them a couple of times, and got to speak to a US-based, competent, and friendly customer service representative. That positive experience lead me to apply for a car loan a year ago or so. Alliant had the best rates. Again, the application process was all online, smooth and no-nonsense. As the loan is on auto-pay, this is a set-it-and-forget-it experience.I would absolutely recommend Alliant Credit Union!
They took the insurance check after the vehicle was totaled then reported three consecutive missed payments for undisclosed reasons. Thanks, Alliant!
This company is only interested in delaying pay offs and getting as much interest as possible out of folks. Specifics:1. They offer auto pay, but fail to tell you (except hidden in fine print) that you have to do a *** thing that will take 3 business days to put into effect. Every other company? Immediate2. You can't do a one time payment if on auto pay. Why? No other company does that3. Their support staff is ignorant of their own systems. First agent doesn't explain what is really happening ... same problem - next agent says it is obvious on website and first agent should have researched ... email complaint and that agent basically gives same bad advise as first agent.4. Even though I acted on information first and third agent confirmed, they claim they can't waive interest I should not have had to pay except that I was following their incorrect advise They are not honest, forthright, competent, pleasant, customer focused ... look anywhere else - a local loan shark maybe? "
Customer service is non-existent! Branch Offices are closed! Tax statements are wrong! I could go on and on since Im still on hold with customer service!
I trying to pay my car note with the account number provided and it keeps going to my saving account causing late payment. I talked to four people with four different answers. No one is helping mr
I applied for Alliant Credit Union's "Simple Cash Back" Visa Signature card in February 2019
I applied for Alliant Credit Union's "Simple Cash Back" Visa Signature card in February 2019. The deal was great, for only a $59 annual fee, they offered 3% unlimited cash back for the first year and 2.5% unlimited cash back every year following. They approved me for a $25,000 limit and I began using their card. For the first 6 months or so, the biggest issue was that my payments were taking a very long time to clear, sometimes 5+ days, regardless of whether I made payment through my bank (Chase) or through Alliant. I would call Alliant and they would help expedite the payment by getting Chase on the line to verbally confirm that the funds were available. Their customer service was very friendly, professional, and helpful, but this process was time consuming and it was frustrating that it was necessary. At some point in that 6 month period, I was notified that the annual fee was being increased from $59/year to $99/year. Not too long after, they improved their online interface and eliminated the payment delays, now they go through within 2 business days as they should, so I actually had no issue with the fee increase. Now, just last week, February 2020, I received a notice in the mail that the 2.5% cash back would be capped at $250 ($10,000) in spend per month. Now, I understand that this may not affect most customers, but I spend well above this. I applied for this card specifically for the UNLIMITED cash back knowing that I would be spending $30k+ monthly and now they're reducing my rewards by two thirds or more! At this point, I honestly wish I had never applied for this card, I guess that's what I get for doing business with a credit union I wasn't familiar with.
Tried to open an account in October 2021. Was never contacted, placed two phone calls to see what the hold up was, was told "we're just so busy right now." A few days ago I received a letter saying they have tried unsuccessfully to contact me but were unsuccessful and have rejected my application as a result. This was a lie - they did not try to get in touch with me (I called to confirm this was the case). After this experience, I would not trust this organization with my money.
Horrible customer service. I have tried to get a human on the phone for over a week and have tried holding. The wait times are over 30 minutes and this is unacceptable. Had I now this before opening my account I would not have gone with them.
We bought a motor home had it finance thru allaint credit union and the end of this year we got a home equity loan on our house and paid off the account with Alliant . The problem they never sent us our title to the motor home and Findlay we call and was told they made a mistake and send it to the bank but they would get it back in five days. Didnt happen called again after ten days were told that they have not received it but we could try to get it from regions, as if they were washing their hands with it, I told them no its their problem they messed up.
Never in my life have I ever had such a difficult time with a company that has financed a auto purchase for me
Never in my life have I ever had such a difficult time with a company that has financed a auto purchase for me. The rate was great and what I needed but that's where the happiness stopped. First Negative Experience: Due to confusion at the car dealer, the title wasn't properly handled. Despite my calling (and waiting on hold upwards of 10 minutes typically) multiple times on this to let Alliant know that I was working on getting it resolved, and that unfortunately the state was slow to process things, I continued to receive letters threatening that my interest rate would be raised to 24% because I was ignoring their requests. Second Negative Experience: I had setup automatic payments on my loan from my checking account. After deciding to change who I bank with, and not being able to find how to change the account with Alliant, I called and spoke to an unbelievably rude person who treated me as if my request was the most ridiculous thing she'd ever heard. She proceeded to tell me I had to fill out a manual form and mail/fax it in and that it would take up to 30 days to process. 30 days just to change who my withdrawal is taken from. She also informed me that to setup a new account would require a second, equally as manual process. I asked if, instead, once the automatic withdrawals were cancelled, could I just login to the site to pay every two weeks, on the same schedule I did today automatically. She assured me I could. Third Negative Experience: After receiving confirmation the automatic withdrawals had been stopped I tried to schedule a payment on the site. I continued to receive an error that my account had automatic withdrawals setup so I could not. I reached out 4 times and continued to be told the same thing, that the withdrawals had been stopped, but no explanation on the error. On the 5th attempt I finally got a response that because I am paying every two weeks, I cannot make a payment using an external account and have to transfer funds from the external account, to an Alliant Savings account, and then make my payment from that. This, the day before the payment is due. I have never in my life had to go through so much hassle just to pay my car loan on time and ensure it always paid. I make every payment to every creditor I have on time, I have good credit... there is no reason for all the ridiculous steps they require you to go through just to make a payment. I will be working on refinancing as quickly as I can.
Long story short, they did a bait and switch with credit card rewards and said that was totally ok because according to the credit card agreement they can change the terms at any time.Long story: Well I was lured in to get their credit card because it had a 2.5% cash back on all purchases. I cancelled my current credit card to get theirs and everything was fine for a couple months. Then I get something in the mail that says if I want to continue receiving the rewards now I have to open up bank accounts with them and I have to have a minimum balance in the bank account every month and a certain amount of money put into the bank account every month or I don't get the rewards on my credit card. They don't have a bank where I live so I'm not going to bank in a place where I can only talk to people online also they sent me the notice two weeks after charging me the yearly credit card fee that they are now not giving me the rewards for. Classic bait-and-switch I was sold a credit card and once I bought it they told me I needed to get bank accounts and meet other requirements in order to continue using it. BS company oh, I will never do anything with them ever again. My regular bank is *** Community Credit Union, and they are amazing. I will just stick to them from now on!"
Horrible customer service. Borders on predatory loan practices. I have paid my car off twice and still don't have a title to show for it. They still say I have a balance, third time!
Horrible communication and professionalism. I applied for a savings account, sent in all the required documents yet I never heard from them. I call a few days later and they send it to the approval team. Then- I called a week later since I head to heard from them- they asked for more documentation. I sent it the same day- and never heard back from ALLIANT. Now were on week 3. Still no communication from ALLIANT. I call again. They see my required documentation and send it to the approval team. Week 4- ALLIANT sends me a letter declining my application because they said they couldnt get a hold of me!And I was the one calling them every week to check my approval status. *** closed my application and told me I have to reapply all over again. I dont trust ALLIANT. I wouldnt be surprised if someone stole my identification with all the documentation they require. Horrible horrible experience.

I had made a payment on the 25th of February and my payment due date was the 27th of February the credit union decided to not take my money and declined it. However I did pay before the due date. I do have screenshots and emails stating that I did make the payment and then a day or two later they sent me an email that they rejected the payment and it gave me a 30-day hit on my credit report out of the 15 years I've owned cars I have never had one 30 day late payment. They also immediately the next day after I made the payment with the person on the phone hit my credit for 30 days I have never seen a credit inquiry that quick even while making a payment on time. I want that 30-day late hit removed since I did pay with an adequate amount of time and before the 30-day ***. The next step is going through with my attorney which we have all paperwork and supports of this situation.I have also continuously told them I have issues with their online service where sometimes it works and sometimes it does not it keeps locking me out of my account which I have called several times going over and over on my options trying to get it to set up for auto pay which they say they cannot do I can only do on my end which I have done and it keeps disconnecting from that.

I opened a credit card with Alliant and also a checking account to take advantage of their advertised 2.5% cash back. According to their terms and conditions (attached), anyone who maintains an Alliant High-Rate Checking account with a certain daily average balance over the last quarter (April through June) and has at least one electronic deposit should qualify. I met both conditions, maintaining the required average balance and having two paycheck direct deposits per month. Despite several calls and an encounter with a very rude customer service agent, I still haven't received a clear explanation from the bank on why I am not earning their top tier rate. I feel this is a bait and switch operation and would advise others to avoid this trap. I have always banked with a credit union and this has been, by far, the most disappointing banking experience I've had with any bank or credit union.
This company received 2 cashier checks from *** on Monday, July 25th at 10:30am. As of today, after 6 phone calls, Tues, July 27th at 2:57pm, the checks have still not been posted! I was promised it would be posted Monday thr 25th before 7pm, then Tues before today. Now I'm being told now that it will be another 3 days! No return phone calls and led on!
I checked my credit report and noticed I had late payments from ALLIANT CREDIT UNION. At the time, I was transitioning between jobs and going through an economic hardship. As you can see, I have made most of my payments on time so I am asking in goodwill faith for this one time to please remove these late payments from my account. I am trying to increase my score to qualify for a mortgage and I would greatly appreciate if you guys would forgive the late payments.
I have a bank account with Alliant Credit Union. I do my financial activities exclusively with this account. To simplify: On or about 12/10 Alliant Credit Union failed to pay the County of Orange - Treasurer-Tax Collector the first installment of [protected] Property Tax. ($2,481.31) Per "Pay Bills" Alliant Credit Union the check will arrive by 12/09. The check never arrived to the Treasurer-Tax Collector. Consequently, the tax bill was assessed a 10% penalty ($2,729.44) I paid ($248.13) in penalties. The same payment failure to my *** resulted in a ($20.00) late fee, which I also paid. Both of this payments were scheduled to be send December 2.Alliant Credit Union owns me $268.13 I have an impeccable FICO score.
Sometime in the night between March 16th and March 17th, the business in question had my vehicle wrongfully repossessed
Sometime in the night between March 16th and March 17th, the business in question had my vehicle wrongfully repossessed. Without my knowledge, they had Force placed insurance on my already insured car. When I purchased my vehicle via financing through auction direct and Alliant CU, I also signed up for progressive, this was in March . Since then, Alliant has failed to ever check whether or not my vehicle was insured and only did so in May , at which point they applied there partners insurance. Because I was unaware of this, I continued to pay only for the financing to Alliant as well as my insurance to progressive. Based on this, Alliant claimed I had accrued a significant debt, thus leading them to repossess my car. When I contacted them and confirmed my long-standing insurance with progressive, they said that they would cancel all previous debt based on the insurance. Later in the call I was informed that I was expected to pay the fees for the repossession, which equaled to $800. On top of being forced to miss work, losing me $400, they want me to pay to get my car back which by their own actions was proven to be wrongfully repossessed. They are refusing to accept fault for their complete failure to check and confirm on the state of my vehicles insurance, which is what caused them to apply undue debt to the lien.

Alliant Bank canceled the auto pay that was configured to transfer a sum every month to PNC bank. Since December2020, on 22nd of every month a sum was paid to PNC bank for a mortgage. On 22Feb22, there was insufficient funds in the checking for autopay. Once I discovered a mistake on 08Mar22, fund were transferred and a payment was set up the same day. However, the autopay payment for 22Mar22 and 22Apr22 were not initiated. Due the missed payments, my PNC mortgage account was marked as delinquent and reported to TransUnion credit agency. I was notified about this on 15May22, the funds were available in the account and I set up a single payment for the missed 2 month and set up new autopay.
An unauthorized Inquiry from ALLIANT CREDIT UNION NOV 14, 2021 appeared on my credit I did not give this company authorization to Inquiry about my credit.
On May 29, my wife went into labor four months early, resulting in the birth of our micro-preemie baby girl at 22 weeks and 6 days, weighing 448 grams. Due to my daughter's size and the prematurity of her birth, we spent nearly a year in the hospital, finally being discharged on May 17, 2022. During that time, I inadvertently missed a payment in October . Amidst the emotional rollercoaster concerning my daughter's health, I was under the impression that I had made the payment and was unaware of the oversight. I never received any notice of the missed payment because we were staying at a relative's home close to the hospital to avoid the two-hour commute between the hospital and our home. This single missed payment has significantly impacted my credit score, and I am reaching out to Alliant Credit Union, hoping for understanding and requesting the removal of this solitary late payment from my record. The circumstances were extraordinary, with my daughter's life hanging in the balance, and under normal conditions, I would not have missed this payment. I am willing to provide any necessary documentation to support my case and earnestly hope you will take my situation into consideration. Thank you.

Today an attempted charge of *** was tried to debit from my card I don't have an account with then nor have I ever so this is a clear case of fraud since I have never ask for or received anything from this company
Hello. I have been with this credit card company for a few months
Hello. I have been with this credit card company for a few months. I never had any issues with them and always paid my bills on time. Recently I paid my college tuition with the card. I then wanted to pay the bil before it was due. My regular checking account did not have sufficient funds to pay the bill so I attempted to change the account number to my savings account with a different bank. For some reason the field online to enter a savings account number was there for no reason and at the end the payment was pulled from thge old checking number which for some reason still stayed by the bank. When the payment was submitted, it tried to pull funds from my new accounts routing number and old checking account number. I then got a letter in the mail a week later that the payment did not go through and was charged a fee and interest. I was able to get the fee removed but they refuse to refund the interest. Upon contacting them by phone and email multiple times, (I was on the phone over 6 hours combined!) I also emailed them 4 times, all I receive is a scripted response along the line of "this was not a credit union error and therefore we can not do anything about it." At one point I spoke to an extremely rude supervisor who did not let me explain anything and cut me off many times. I would appreciate if this can be resolved. Thanks You
On January 24, we purchased a used camper from an individual who had an outstanding loan on the vehicle. The transaction was conducted at our credit union, where the remaining balance of the loan was settled directly with Alliant Credit Union, clearing the previous owner's debt on the same day. We obtained a notarized bill of sale from the seller, issued in Hillsborough County. Additionally, we received a letter from Alliant confirming that the loan was satisfied in full on January 24. We were informed that the state has an electronic title system, which led us to expect that the title transfer would be completed within two days. However, a week passed and the lien was still not cleared according to the state's records. Upon contacting Alliant, they informed us that they had not taken any action but would be sending a paper title to the previous owners, which has yet to be received. Another two weeks have elapsed since that communication. Now, after more than eight weeks, the title has not been released. Without the title, we are unable to obtain a license plate for the camper. I believe there is a legal timeframe within which the bank is required to release the title.
We have attempted for over 2-3 weeks to get a payoff and credit supplement completed for our refinance we have been trying to do since January with another bank. Alliant will not send the required items we have requested. They wont do a 3rd party verification and we cant get anyone to do whats been asked for weeks. We call everyday and they say someone will get it over to us or back to us. We want the documentation provided!
On February 11, 2022, ALLIANT credit union opened a savings account for me without my permission. I became aware of this unauthorized action when I received mail detailing my account information, which included a balance of $5. In an effort to understand this situation, I researched complaints against ALLIANT. I discovered a complaint filed in 2021 that mirrored my experience. This raises concerns about the possibility of identity theft. ALLIANT should thoroughly investigate these fraudulent activities to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
I submitted applications to become members. Alliant credit union kept declining my membership application status they could not verify my identity. Deposit sending my ID, SSN, &Utility bills, I still have no luck getting my application approved. Why Alliant Credit Union having a such a hard time verify who Im ?Also recently. I obtained an auto loan from Alliant Credit Union on 09/05 at the dealership where I purchased my vehicle
I obtained an auto loan from Alliant Credit Union on 09/05 at the dealership where I purchased my vehicle. I then set up automatic bi-weekly payments with them in order to pay off my loan quicker. I originally set up the automatic payments to be deducted from *** Credit Union and within the last 4 months I switched to ***. I contacted Alliant to let them know of the change, filed the paper work to stop payment withdrawal from my old CU and to start payments from ***. Not only did they not set up the automatic payments, but they continued to withdraw from my old bank causing overdraft fees due to the fact I had transferred accounts already. Since then, for about 4 to 6 months, they have come up with every excuse in the book, from blaming IT, to saying it was just a mistake, to just flat out playing dumb. They keep telling me to call in but when I do, they say they have to charge me a $10 "processing" fee to make a payment. Obviously I complained and they took my payment over the phone with no fee, once. As of today, my account is now past due, I have never been late or missed a payment, and they still have not corrected the issue. This has been a nightmare and this bank is out of state and provides no way to pay online because my account is locked due to it saying automatic payments are set up. I am beyond over this credit union.
Similar to other complaints, a savings account with Alliant Credit Union was opened in my name but I did not open the account. I received a letter in the mail on 1/6/22, similar to what others have reported, with a Pin #. I also noticed in my email that I had received 2 emails on 12/31 from alliant saying welcome.I called Alliant on 1/6/22 & spoke to someone to try to find out how/why the account had been opened. Like others, I am worried about fraudulent activity. The person claimed she could not see why the account was opened, left some information on the account in regards to our conversation & told me someone would call me back within a day. I did not receive a call back as of yet. I would like the account to be closed. I think Alliant Crddit Union needs to be investigated into why accounts are fraudulently being opened in people's names.
Alliant may added new stipulations to the rewards program that in order to earn the same 2.5% cash back that had been earned previously, that customers must open a new checking account, maintain a minimum balance, and make a monthly deposit to the new account. I did not receive notice of this change. Now that I learned about this change from Alliant, I have opened up the new checking account and began monthly deposits as required.
This company fraudulently gave out a loan in my name that I did not sign off on completely. My mother finesse this and no one called and checked with me Ive been trying to get a hold of this company for the last 3 to 4 months no one has ever contacted me Thur emails, phone calls or nothing I dont even think this bank exist. Im not OK with them taking things out of my name and not calling and checking with me to make sure I approve because I never approved! When this said loan was took it out I didnt even have a job so how was someone like me ever qualified? I dont understand how all this has happened and still as I try to reach out and contact someone no one gets back to me, its like no one even exist. Im filing this complaint because no bank in America or anywhere in the world should work like this or navigate under such false pretenses. I would like this company investigated because my next step is getting a lawyer for this claim!
At the start of the year 2022, my bank made an error with both my savings account and my checking account, and I cannot seem to get the problem resolved. The bank's customer service is practically impossible to reach by phone as I have a limited number of minutes available. The online message center does not respond, and even though I have provided the bank with all the information needed to correct my monthly statement, so far, after many hours of effort, my statements are still incorrect and the bank is not responding to my written 'error resolution notice'. It seems that the bank has closed all avenues of customer support, and I feel that the regulatory authority should be advised that this financial institution is not living up to the service that they promised. Financially, my savings account is short by $1,050.00 and I would like this banking error corrected.
I was forced to open an account with this credit union under premise that i obtain loan funds, a company sent money to this union then
I was forced to open an account with this credit union under premise that i obtain loan funds, a company sent money to this union then transferred it to me. I have multiple issues with this company, upon looking futher into thier services i noticed they offered a Visa signature card. I currently have one and the one they offer has a higher credit limit and lower interest. My credit score is well above 700, and i have 1 inquiry, i would not have applied if i didnt think i would be approved. I was declined for inaccurate reasons first is limited credit history which is not true ibhave 15 years history with not one missed payment or default. Upon calling i was rudely recited company policy which is nowhere to be found stating that i have to have a card with a comparable credit limit. There are no credit cards that have 15000.00 limit in existence to start. After being told that i honestly no longer wish to even be a part of thier union period. Why waste one anothers time i already have a inquiry stuck for 2 years which is a waste on my report as a result of this. I wish to close my savings account i have with them and they refuse to do so stating that i have to pay a loan off that has nothing to do with them at all. I understand what has happened they are in cahoots with thr company that provided to me the loan to get them more customers becuase obviously they cannot get any the real banks have all the customers not the credit unions and now i see why.
I received a letter from Alliant Credit Union that my account was closed and final amount of 5 was withdrawn
I received a letter from Alliant Credit Union that my account was closed and final amount of 5 was withdrawn.I contacted the Service Rep on 6/8/2022 after reading the letter and was informed by Rep that account was closed for abandonment and did not respond to letter sent on 5/27/2022 about closure. I informed Rep no letter was recieved about account closure and I checked this account # *** monthly when statement arrived. Writer asked where final balance had gone ($5) and that Alliant took it back and it was their money. Writer asked for evidence that money was alliant who shared their Alliant policy offers 5 dollar to people that open that account. Writer requested for evidence or reopening closed account. Service Rep was adamant money was provided by bank. Service Rep then shared it was late and will need to ask about process for reopening account.Email reply came back from Alliant Service Rep:Good morning Vin, We dont reopen closed accounts. They get a couple notices about the account becoming dormant and possibly being closed if they dont do what is on the letter before it is actually closed. As for the deposit proof, he can request statement copies at $5 each to confirm his deposit. He would need to send a signed letter and a check for the fee. Also, we only go back 7 years for statement copies. My account was opened in *** mine (as I don't keep statements pass 1 month) based on this response

Alliant Credit Union appears to me to have been engaging in a pattern of fraud surrounding not honoring advertised promotions
Alliant Credit Union appears to me to have been engaging in a pattern of fraud surrounding not honoring advertised promotions. I had noticed on January 6, *** indicating new requirements. I never received these, the bank could not produce proof of mailing of the allegedly sent materials, and the bank later admitted that they never in fact sent them. I was told via electronic message on 1/11/2022 by a representative identifying herself only as "***," that in order to continue to receive cash rebate incentives from their bank card, among other criteria, I need to "make at least one electronic deposit into the checking account monthly." I have complied with the terms as described by ***Next upon inquiry about the deficient rewards rates, a person who only identified himself as "***" told me that I did not make monthly electronic deposits during Q2.On the contrary, electronic deposits have been made on the 12th of each month starting in February this year, once I was actually informed of the new terms of their promotion. On August 9 2022, "***" moved the goalposts yet again. She narrowed the type of deposit, disqualifying my type of deposits "a posteriori," and wrote "make at least one electronic deposit into the checking account monthly (direct deposit, payroll deposit, mobile deposit, ATM deposit, ACH transfer from external account)"

I applied for a Home Equity Loan in June 2022 with Alliant Credit Union
I applied for a Home Equity Loan in June 2022 with Alliant Credit Union. They denied the loan due to the appraised value of the house coming in too low. The appraisal/valuation was never uploaded into the portal with then rest of the disclosures. About a month later, on July 22, 2022 I called and asked if I could get a copy of the appraisal/valuation. The person I spoke to said she would find out and would email me back. Later that day I received an email stating that they could send it to me but only if I paid the fee ($12). They then stated that I could ONLY pay the fee if I signed a paper agreeing to the withdraw being made from an account with them. Since I don't have an account with them they said I couldn't pay it. I sent a follow up email the same day asking them to double check and mentioned that Regulation B states I have a right to a free copy of the appraisal/valuation within a timely matter after it is completed. On 7/28/2022 I received another email stating that I could mail the payment to them but I would still need to pay the fee. This causes me to have to go get checks printed from my bank which costs additional time and money as well as the time and money spent mailing it. I feel like it appears to still be in violation of the regulation in 2 ways. First, its still not free. Second, it was not provided in a timely manner. If they are doing this to me then they are probably doing this to all their customers because they don't seem to have a process in place for automatically providing these on their loans.

Hello,I would like to formally file a complaint against Alliant Credit Union as they're unable to assist with the process
Hello,I would like to formally file a complaint against Alliant Credit Union as they're unable to assist with the process. As you may see I have attached an email from their firm stating that I had authorized electronic loan payment at a frequency of monthly payments for my auto loan. I was under the impression that my account was set up for automatic payments given the correspondence of the email below (FREQUENCY:MONTHLY) in addition to filling out the form online. It is important to note that the Company has never once emailed, called, or left a voicemail in regards to this payment. There only call to me and voicemails left were for auto insurance verification. There was no notification within their app as well. Now I find myself two months behind on a payment on a car in which I could pay off cash today. Additionally, I have now taken a hit to my credit score stating that I was delinquent on two payments due to either a system error or grossly mis-worded communication from their Company. I previously had an auto loan on a TESLA with their firm and never have missed a payment in its entirety. In fact, I've never missed a payment on anything in my entire life regardless of where or whom. Their response was that the occurrences was listed as "one" which begs the question why would a consumer have to calculate the number of payments so that the frequency matched the total equating to zero? I am hopeful that this can be resolved and the report to creditors can be rescinded due to their system error or lack of transparency in the process.Thank you

This past fall I took a car loan with Alliant Credit Union; terms were 4 years, and I paid the loan in full after less than six months; in December I sent one envelope with the payoff - in it was a check from my bank, a personal check under $20, and a written request for the vehicle lien release letter.I spoke to *** at Alliant, who confirmed the loan payoff in December . She told me the lien release was not sent to me because they do not have a title. I informed her I have the title, and I need the lien release letter to take to the *** She said they will not send a lien release without a title, then said it was ok but refused to send via email. They also claim to have contacted me 3x for the title (I have never been contacted). *** noted those contacts were made in November , December , and January 2022. I asked why they reached out in Jan 2022 if the loan was paid in full in December , she fumbled and could not answer. She said the best she could do was put in another lien payoff request on my behalf, which takes 5 days to process and 3 weeks to mail.At this time I have no resolution or lien release; when I called back asking if it was possible to overnight the lien release I was told it already went out in the mail (?) and to overnight it would include my mailing them a written request for lien release (which I sent in December) and $22.I want to stop the run around and get a copy of the lien release so I can clear the title. In the state of MI I do not need an official or notorized letter, just a copy of the letter on Alliant letterhead.

Approximately 9:45 am eastern time. I I contacted Alliant credit union and spoke with the agent by the name of *** I gave my full name Social date of birth and verify my address. In addition I verified the type of vehicle that I have finance, The agent refused to assist me in regards to a letter that I have received from Alliant wouldnt even allow me to go into details of what the letter was. After I made several attempts to explain to the agent the agent still refused and ultimately I asked for a supervisor. After being transferred to the supervisor by the name of *** I explained that I verified my account with the previous agent and he refused to assist me which is why I had requested a supervisor. *** immediately got an attitude shut me down by rudely interrupting me and ask me too reverify all the same information again and I refused because I felt that was pointless once he realized that he could not bully me he threaten to hang up the phone if I didnt release to call myself, I explain to him that I am a consumer with a loan with this credit union in excellent standings I have a right to request a manager or someone in the complaint department to follow up with me in regards to my concerns that he nor the previous agent were even interested in hearing. Not only am I requesting an apology from the president of this company but I am also from the agent *** H and the supervisor *** In a letter from the head quarters with a letter head. I find it very unbelievable that Alliant is aware of how poorly this agent and supervisor is treating their customers there should be no reason for the extremely poor treatment that I received from this interaction not only am I completely disappointed but I am very upset.

In February, I received a notice from Alliant that they were changing the terms on the credit card cashback in the following months and that I'd no longer get the cashback rate I'd promised and there would be a limit. I called customer service regarding this and voice my concern to cancel my card and get my annual fee refunded. It was not fair to have paid an annual fee already for the card and then have the cashback terms changed after I already paid the fee. The customer service agent said they would submit two requests. One request to close and card and another to get the annual fee refund. And that it should happen in the next following days after the card was closed. The agent asked me which account to put my refund in, and I said the saving account. However a week later, my card was closed and no annual fee was refunded to my savings account. So I called customer service agent again today on 3/5 and was told a different story that my card's annual fee could only be refunded within a certain time period after it was charged and the time has passed. First, this isn't fair as Alliant is the one that changed the cashback terms after I paid the annual fee. And second, I was never informed by the previous agent of this and now I have paid a full year for a card that is already cancelled and I cannot use anymore, I would have chosen to kept the card if I was informed of this. Now I am left paid an annual fee for card I cannot use. I have been an Alliant CU Customer for Over 10 Years and Alliant CU has always been very fair and done me well. I've referred many family members and friends to Alliant CU and always praise Alliant CU as the place credit union I've ever had. But this is really unfair and makes me think twice about Alliant and doing future financial transactions here.

I cannot deposit corporate checks via Alliant's mobile app or their website
I cannot deposit corporate checks via Alliant's mobile app or their website. This has been an issue for at least 3 years (when I first started banking with Alliant). The app always says an error such as 'the image is too light', or 'all of the numbers along the bottom could not be read', or 'the image is blurry', or 'the image is the wrong size', even when the image is completely clear and everything can be seen and read clearly. I tried to deposit two recent checks several times via the app and was able to get them to clear through for a review only twice. Both times they were rejected either stating the image was not clear or giving no reason at all. I reached out to Alliant via sending a message on the app. They replied and told me to use the 'scan at home' tool on the website. I attempted this 3 times and still received the same error messages. I called Alliant. The first representative hung up or we got cut off. The second representative told me to use an ATM. There are no ATMs I can use for Alliant in my state (SC), nor is there a branch. Which makes this a big issue. I then asked if I could mail them in. They had to ask a supervisor. They do have an option for this but no one should have to go to these lengths to deposit a check. I asked to file an official complaint with Alliant. I gave my account number and the representative was unable to find my account and had to use my full social security number. The fact that my account could also not be located by the company with my account number and that I had to give out my full social was also concerning. I was told a complaint was made on my behalf and that I would receive a response. This was today so I will have to wait and see if I reveive a response. The problem is that this is an ongoing issue that has not been address by Alliant for their customers.

Alliant Credit Union has never been helpful with any of my financial needs
Alliant Credit Union has never been helpful with any of my financial needs. I've applied for their auto loan, credit card, and personal loans during my 5+ years with them and they get all denied while other credit unions have been able to provide me what I need. My complaint is their credit inquiry process. Every time I apply for any of their loans, they would pull my Experian report at least twice. The most recent credit card application that I submitted was back in August 2022. They pulled my Experian when I submitted my application online and the following day, I received an email from their lending team informing me to unfreeze my Experian report. I informed them that my Experian report is not frozen as I was notified by my credit monitoring provider that Alliant made an inquiry on my Experian report like the other banks were able to pull the same report. Right after I told them that my Experian report was not frozen, they did another inquiry. I reached out to Alliant again and asked them why they pulled my credit again. They said that they are getting a different string, which I do not have an idea about so they told me that their IT team will look into it. Yesterday, September 15, 2022, I reached out to Alliant to check the status of the application and they said that I need to contact Experian for the error. I told Alliant that other lenders had no problem pulling my Experian report so it must be an issue with their system. Right after I sent that email to Alliant, I just got notified by my credit monitoring provider that Alliant made a third inquiry on my Experian report. There are three inquiries to process my credit card application and they denied it.I want Alliant to fix their lending system and reconsider my credit card application because I do not want to waste all these inquiries for nothing.

n May I received a past due demand saying my auto loan was past due
n May I received a past due demand saying my auto loan was past due. I am three years into this loan and make every payment on time via auto-debit. It turns out they had "force placed" insurance on my vehicle in February because they did not have verification of insurance. There was no advance request to provide proof of insurance and the first notice I received was the past due letter. I should add that they have never asked for proof of insurance other than when I set up the loan. I have always carried insurance on my vehicles. No lapses. When they placed the insurance on my account they added the amount of the insurance to my principal balance and increased my monthly payment. Since the auto debit was set at the fixed amount of the original loan I am now considered late, and they then started to charge me late fees and threaten to report me to the credit bureaus. And by the way the insurance was for $8,240 which is 4x what I actually pay.So when I call Alliant they referred me to a "third party" service provider (likely an affiliate) who attempted to verify my insurance with my broker. Since they didn't get through they will wait for a call back and get me a "letter" in *** days. They will not confirm that they will cancel out the insurance and give me a full adjustment to principal balance and credit the late fees when that happens. I expect nothing less than a full credit to the principal balance and for the late fees. They refused to accept my insurance card as "proof of insurance" even though they did when we set up the loan and even the police accept that as "proof" of insurance. It appears as if Alliant is very diligent about responding to these complaints because they are accredited by Complaintsboard.com. Perhaps this will get their attention and solve this problem as opposed to the unhelpful responses I received when I contacted them diretly

On May 23rd, my bank alerted me to unauthorized purchases being made with my account.
On May 23rd, I received a call from Alliant Credit Union (my bank) informing me that someone was making unauthorized purchases with my account. I checked my account and confirmed these transactions. I verified the caller's number as the bank's main line and obtained his contact details. I provided some information to set up out-of-state usage alerts. The same day, a scammer requested a vacation notice on my account for one week, which the bank approved. The next day, my accounts were emptied, with multiple $400 transactions at the same locations. I wasn't alerted to this suspicious activity. When I ordered a new debit card, the same individual repeatedly called for its number, but I received no notification. I've been calling daily to recover my funds, speaking with different representatives each time. I've expressed suspicion about the employee I initially spoke with, but the bank confirms his employment and our call records. I still suspect his involvement. The last representative promised to attempt a refund. I reported the fraudulent charges immediately, so I expect reimbursement. I'm desperate to recover my funds and switch banks due to their poor customer service and ineffective fraud department. In a recent call, I learned the scammer has part of my social security number. I've filed a police report but am uncertain how to proceed. I'm seeking advice to retrieve my money. Thank you!

On 01/05/2022, I Was discriminated against as I exercised my right as the consumer/benificiary in a consumer credit transaction when I applied for a credit card with ALLIANT CREDIT UNION "ALLIANT" which is a violation of Equal Credit Opportunity Act and Truth In Lending Act. My personal information was used on the application as well as my location information. From my understanding, banks do not lend money or extend credit as we have been bankrupt since ***. 12 usc 83 - No national bank shall make any loan or discount on the security of the shares of its own capital stock. ALLIANT became trustee to my social security trust as this is a trust action. They deprived me of my rights to extend credit which is a violation of 18 usc 242. They have committed trust fraud, bank fraud, and securities fraud. Each holding a fine from $1,000,000 to $100,000,000. I received no benefit which is unauthorized use of my credit card. In order to clarify that there has not been any false claims of securities, illegal securitizations, trades, hypothecating, interest, and proceeds fraud entry misapplied in my name, as benificiary of the account Pursuant to 15 USC 44 Im asserting my rights to acquire documentary evidence for the books of account as defined in IRS 583. Id like to access record keeping of both journal and ledger credits of the account, as well as ledger and debits of the account, in order to verify the current accounting and taxes related to this account. This will allow me to reaffirm my status as the benificiary and you in fact have been loaned the amount in question. This will also confirm aggravates identity theft as you are conspiring to profit without my knowledge or benefit when you are trustee to my trust. Failure to produce said documents will be deprivation of rights as described before and $10,000 and/or 5yrs in prison for any. You have committed theft by deception and embezzlement both federal crimes.

I was a victim of identity theft, had my account compromised & faced false accusations.
I'm back in starting in January I was victim of identity theft, had my account information compromised and someone attempted to cash fraudulent checks in my name. When I discovered this, I immediately canceled my cards, changed my passwords, and put a lock on my credit with the credit agencies. My other financial institutions have been very understanding and helpful. It's as if they've placed a Scarlet Letter on my account, punishing me, the victim, for a crime I did not commit, denying me certain benefits that other members are given. After being told all restrictions would be lifted from my account, I was accused of lying about my identity theft. It's well known that identity theft is often committed by someone the victim knows. In my case, it was an ex who, during our relationship, gained access to my private information. I was accused of lying because of the first check I deposited. Skeptical, I called the bank on a recorded line to inquire about the delay, suspecting it was a fraudulent check. Upon confirmation, I cut ties with him and no longer wanted any association. However, he has since used my information to apply for a mortgage, a credit card, and accessed my account to attempt further fraudulent deposits. Due to that recorded call, a banker accused me of trying to defraud the bank without proper investigation, a serious and unprofessional accusation. As of now, I do not have a debit card, I am unable to access my account online, and therefore unable to access any funds in my account. I was told someone from the bank would reach out to me last week, but I have yet to hear back or receive any communication.

Terrible business
Terrible business. Have been a customer for years but ran into some financial hardship last year. Now because of no fault of my own, Alliant has been using class discrimination to hurt the poor. I cannot deposit a check without having to wait 10 business days for it to clear. I do not have access to my money because Alliant likes to punish the poor. Each time I call and ask how much longer these classist and discriminatory practices will go on for, and each time the date gets pushed back further and further, further hurting the poor. By not giving them access to their money in a timely manner. Its a cycle that Alliant creates for their clients in an effort to keep them down. If i deposit a check on the 10th for a bill thats due on the 17th, and my check has still not cleared by that point, well my bill is not late. Or it tries to deduct the funds from my acct, and while under normal non-discriminatory circumstances, my check would have already been deposited and monies withdrawn; instead my bill is now overdue and Alliant punishes you further by holding your money for an unnecessary amount of time. Ensuring the cycle never stops until you make enough money to be considered important by Alliant. As a long time client, I find it disgraceful that you would treat people like this indefinitely in order to keep them down and poor. Each bill that is attempted to be paid on time but cannot due to Alliants classist actions causes a late fee. And those add up. Essentially continuing the cycle. This has been going on for well over a year and its time to see these practices are hurtful and discriminatory to the poor. I am a long time client who had no problems until my financial hardship. But Alliants cold unforgiving nature makes sure that once a life event happens, they will NOT help you to get out of it. In fact, they will make it worse for you. End the discriminatory and classist practices. Allow me to access my money in a timely manner like the rest of your clients

In August , I applied for a Visa credit card through Alliant Credit Union after searching the Internet for credit cards offering $0% APR for a promotional period and no balance transfer fees. I subsequently located the offer advertised by Alliant and clicked on the link in the advertisement which took me directly to Alliant's Internet site and an application form. I completed the on-line form and submitted the application at Alliant's on-line site. A few days later I received an e-mail from Alliant advising that my application was approved, and further advising I would be receiving an intro packet by mail in the coming days. Thereafter, I received the packet and the Visa credit card. A few days later I registered at Alliant's website so I could make payments on-line. A review of the account reflected a $152 balance transfer fee. Realizing this fee was in error pursuant to the terms under which I applied, I e-mailed Alliant's customer service department and brought the discrepancy to its attention. The representative wanted documentation of the offer, so I went back to the Internet, located the offer, took screen shot photos of the offer, and e-mailed them back. Alliant responded and requested the web address of the offer. When I returned to the Internet in search of the offer, it had mysteriously disappeared. I replied I could now not locate the offer, with Alliant in turn responding it would not waive the balance transfer fee without confirmation of the offer's web address. Frustrated over Alliant's unwillingness to stand behind its offer, I dropped the matter for the time being. In January , I made a $6200 payment on the credit card, which paid all but $152. Thereafter, I once again contacted Alliant and informed them I did not intend to pay the remaining $152 balance, re-asserting my belief the fee had been improperly assessed. I reminded them of my outstanding credit record and my good faith effort to act in accordance with their advertised offer.
