I tend to have a number of fraudulent charges to my debit card, and every time I found fraud I called the bank and every time they had me come into the bank and get a new debit card. I began asking about it because I was forever changing my debit card number to creditors
This morning I called in the usual fraud on my account and was told to come in and get yet another debit card. When I went in, today, 1/9/24, early afternoon, the teller was on her computer and phone for maybe twenty minutes trying to resolve my debit card problem, I assumed. I stood and waited, and finally she tells me they can't issue me another debit card because it's reached a maximum, and would put the bank in jeopardy. I told her I have to have a debit card, it's how I pay all my bills. She had no answer, and I now do business with a bank who can't provide me a debit card because they made a mistake by continuously issuing me debit cards instead of referring me to the fraud department
I will be changing banks, obviously, because I have to have a debit card, and would appreciate a bank who didn't let so much fraud slip through.
Also they don't close the books on Saturday or Sunday and it messes me up when I am expecting a deposit.
I have a masters in psychology, so I'm not an idiot. The Mesa Mall Alpine bank in grand junction is the worst bank I've ever done business with.
