AMC Networks I have a paid subscription to **** until 9/1/2022

I have a paid subscription to *** until 9/1/2022. I received a promotion for six months of *** free because I added a line on *** I have contacted support to append the free six months to the end of my paid subscription, and they were unwilling to do that. So I then proposed a cancellation and prorated refund so that I may use the promotion given to me by *** I have not received a reply.***'s FAQ on the promo says; "If you have a paid or promotional *** subscription directly with *** you will need to contact *** to cancel that subscription. You can then follow the instructions provided by *** to redeem your promotional offer." (***)I contacted *** on 12/7 for assistance in this matter, and customer service indicated that I should be able to append this promotion to my current subscription or else request a refund. Other promos offered by *** (like *** pause the current subscription in order to take advantage of the *** promotion.I was an early subscriber to the direct-billed *** and purchased a year. I was surprised to read other complaints here very similar than mine. AMC Plus is using dishonest tactics to mislead people and get them to desist on pursuing resolution. I never purchased an annual subscription to AMC Plus. Not only do I not watch any programs on AMC Plus, bit I can't afford annual subscriptions to any streaming services at all. They con you into trying a "free trial" with gimmicks and they don't like to addressed your inquiries if it doesn't benefit them. They charged my bank account $83.88 for an annual subscription that I did not agreed to. They have given me the runaround no matter how many times I have contacted them about it. They send generic emails in response, that they are canceling the subscription per my request, but they never addressed the refund of the annual subscription that I had clearly requested from them. I really wish that AMC would show a little bit of concern about their customers, but they are still in the business of making money, so I get it, but not by taking advantage of people. Thank you.

i signed up for AMCplus last 11/30 for a discounted price. i am positive i had canceled the option to renew this in a year. then without permission or warning i was charged *** on 11-30-2022 and when i asked for a refund on that exact day i got an email stating: it was a system You may have experienced a technical issue affecting access to AMC+ recently and this has been resolved.We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. If you are still experiencing a problem, please reply to this email and we will work to resolve it as quickly as possible.Best Wishes,AMC+ then they told me how to cancel the account and i did, but it just set up to cancel in one year from the new renewal that i did not authorize. then yesterday they sent an email stating sorry to see you go and now i don't even have the year that they took payment for and no refund at all. I have proof of payment taken and copies of the email and the ticket i put in to get this resolved. this is happening to several customers, and they are just trying to keep the funds and take away subscriptions from customers. I want my payment refunded in full.

Last month on November 29th, I cancelled my AMC Plus subscription. Today, they charged my card $89.96. I didn't even have that much on my card, maybe $50 at the most. I called and was supposed to be transferred to billing, but they did not transfer me. I just want a refund. I contacted my bank because my card wasn't working due to multiple attempts to take the money after I had cancelled. The bank said the transaction would not go through, but it did.

On our about 12/1/22 I was charged for a years subscription to AMC Network for $83.88. I never authorized this. They had a Black Friday sale last year, which I agreed to for $29+ I never agreed to an automatic renewal and was never even told of this at the time that I accepted the Black Friday special. I contacted the company via email and voicemail, and they refused to refund my money. I have not used this service since TWD ended, it was the only reason I signed up with them in the first place. That ended on Nov 20th 2022, I have not used their service since. I told them if I had used their service since then, then they could prorate the amount owed, but I never agreed to a recurring membership. I see this is common practice with them as many of the complaints that I read here have the same tone to it. I think what they did was very underhanded and they should be ashamed of themselves taking advantage of people like this. I have reached out to them again, to no avail. I would like the company to give me a full refund of $83.88 as I never gave permission, nor was I told that this was an automatic renewal. I am very angry, because they refused to work with me. I can see why they are not accredited with the Complaintsboard.com. P.S. If they intended to renew someone's membership, then the right thing to do would be to contact the customer and let them know the membership was about to end and to let us know if you would like to renew. I was never given that option. This as I stated earlier, is very sneaky.

I subscribed for a Black Friday deal for a year of service last year. I saw that my card was charged for another year of service at 4 times what I paid originally. I contacted AMCPlus and they sent me directions to cancel my account, which I'm pretty sure I had already done when I originally purchased it so it wouldn't auto-renew, but it was over a year ago, so I can't say I'm 100% positive that I did. Normal companies would send you a notice that they are renewing it or at least a receipt that they renewed it. I got neither. They stopped responding to my messages asking for a refund. I stopped using it awhile ago because I was having problems with the app on the AppleTV. Now I see that the exact same thing is happening to a lot of customers.

Hi,Thank you for your attention to this matter.I started a 7 day trial with AMC on October 26 and cancelled on October 27. When signing up I guess I clicked on the offer for a 29% discount. When I called AMC they explained that customers are offered a 29% discount but not informed that by taking it they are no longer eligible for a 7 day trial period. I have a recording of the customer service rep confirming this deceptive practice. If the 7 day trial is not valid when you select the 29% discount - then shouldn't it be made clear at the time of purchase? I see that there are many similar complaints against AMC. Please let me know what can be done so that I can get my money back - but more importantly what can be done to protect consumers. I've also filed a complaint with Apple.

During the black Friday sale of Nov 2021 I signed up for a year of amc+ for a one tome payment of $24. This black Friday I canceled on Nov 24th (black Friday) and my wife signed up for the black Friday deal of $1.99 for 2 months and the something around $8 a month. I found out on my December statement for my credit card I was charged $90 for a year of amc+. I didn't receive any notice about this. I didn't receive any emails saying ideas charged for abyear or would be or any notice at all. I contacted amc explaining I wanted to cancel and refund of the money but all I received back was a form email telling me how to cancel my subscription. It's clear it was not read. The credit card used was already at its limit for Christmas purchases sobyhis put it over its limit creating extra charges for me. I want all this reversed. All money's refunded. Thank you. ***.

AMC Networks I was charged $83.88 on 11/28/2022 for a subscription renewal

I was charged $83.88 on 11/28/2022 for a subscription renewal. I did not receive any notification of the upcoming charge and no notice from *** Plus was received after it occurred. I did not know I was charged until I received a notification from my online bank. Thankfully, I caught this charge less than 24 hours after it occurred, and I immediately called *** Plus to request a refund. I was told they are unable to issue me a refund but they have cancelled my service and could issue a ticket for my refund to be "considered". I then received a ticket response *** a refund due to the "Terms of service" in the fine print, stating that refunds cannot be issued for memberships or partially used services. How can I still be a member if the payment for this renewal is still a pending charge on my account (hasn't gone through yet), I was never notified that it would be happening (didn't want it), this service was not "partially" used (not used at all) and I've called to cancel within 24 hours of receiving this charge? Reasons I'm upset, plain and simple:I called within 24 hours of receiving this charge, only to be told they could not issue a refund.They are in violation of FTC guidelines (they do not give an option NOT to auto-renew) No notice of renewal was sent to me prior to my checking account charged.No notice or receipt was received after the charge.Please help.Ticket link

I am extremely frustrated. There was a Black Friday special in 2021 where I would get 2 years for a good price so I subscribed. I checked my subscription page in July and it said I was good until November 2023. On Thanksgiving, I was charged ***. I cancelled and emailed them explaining the situation and that I couldnt afford that price plus I thought I wouldnt have to pay for 2 years. I am a single mom living paycheck to paycheck and that was my grocery money. I didnt receive any notification about renewal. They gave me a phone number to call and the gentleman was extremely nice and said it would be refunded. Everyone that I have talked to on the phone or by email have been nice. I have no complaints about the people. I am still waiting on my refund. I wasnt able to pay my rent because of the surprise charge also.

I canceled my subscription in May. Two weeks ago, without notice, this company withdrew an annual subscription fee from my bank acct of $88. I have sent several emails, sent the copy of my cancelation email from them from May, told them I needed my money as I have covid at the moment, I also am a 80% disabled vet and this is the reply I get tonight. Hi ***, We apologize for the continued trouble. We can confirm that your ticket has been sent to our billing team for them to further assist you. However, when you respond to this ticket, the ticket is then opened back up and kicked out of our billing team's queue. We recommend holding off on responding until our billing team has reached out to you. They will reach out as soon as possible letting you know about your refund request. Thanks, AMC+ Support Team I want my entire refund returned ASAP, I will be going to my credit union and showing them the illegal withdrawal and have them get my money for me, if that has issues, my lawyer is next.

AMC plus I signed up for the "black Friday" special in November. I believe it was 1.99/month for 12 months. Fast forward to November 29, 2022. I checked my account balance and was charged $89.54. Apparently the agreement auto renews for a full year if you don't cancel before the renewal date. Fair enough if I didn't notice that but it seems like deceptive marketing to me. This however is not the issue. I only have one account so imagine my surprise when I was billed again on November 30, 2022 for $89.54 for another account. How does this happen? I sent an email requesting a refund for this second billing. A couple days later the issue was still not resolved. I then asked for a contact number and to speak with a supervisor. No contact number was given and no supervisor had responded. I have sent multiple requests and have only received a few automated responses. As of 12/8/2022 AMC plus has taken money that does not belong to them.

On November 27th, 2022 I was charged $83.88 for an annual subscription. I cancelled my subscription on August 28th, 2022. On November 27th, 2022 I submitted a ticket requesting a refund and proof of cancelled subscription e-mail. After 3 days AMC plus finally contacted me and stated they could not find my account and almost 2 days later closed my ticket. I responded back to them with all my details of my payment method and e-mail address, which they should have it since they charged my account and I was sent the cancellation verification via e-mail. They then sent me an e-mail with details on how to cancel my subscription which was unnecessary since I already cancelled back in August and they prior stated they couldn't find my account. They really need to fix their system and customer service needs to be thorough in their research and resolving these matters as they have numerous complaints for the same issues.

AMC Networks Like many others, I recently saw the charge for the renewal subscription on my credit card, 11/28/2022

Like many others, I recently saw the charge for the renewal subscription on my credit card, 11/28/2022. I emailed the customer support immediately requesting the charged be reversed. They instructed me on how to cancel, which I had already done, but was still charged the renewal. I was never notified that the renewal was coming again. I had previously accessed the account and cancelled months ago not thinking it would be renewed. They completely disregarded my request to cancel the service. I emailed them back for the 2nd time (11/28), requesting my account me reversed. No response for another 2 days. On 11/30, I sent a follow-up requesting the charged reversed. A 3rd request for the charges to be reversed was sent today- 12/2/2022.As I have not used the subscription for many months (at least 8mo is my guess) and was not advised it was up for renewal. I had previously cancelled it through the app and was not expecting it. From my understanding they have the ability to refund if the request is within 7 days of the charge, which I contacted them the same day. They continue to state they are unable to do anything. I havent used the service since soon after I purchased the initial subscription, probably since around Dec of 2021. I always had issues with the service. The few times I was actually able to access the online account, it would kick me off. After about a month of the issues, I decided that I no longer wanted to continue it and canceled it online. I never received anything from them until they charged it this week. Please feel free to contact me if you need further information.

I signed up for the 7 free days and after the 7 days I would be billed a monthly fee. I started trying to cancel before the 7 days were up but couldn't find how to do so. Then I received a bank alert about a debit to the account. I looked and they had billed me an unexpected amount. I finally found a way to cancel and notified them to return my money. I never agreed to this amount being taken from the account. My husband is disabled and I can't work because I take care of him. I told them we live on a fixed income and that their action prevents me from being able to purchase his medicine. I got a reply on November 26th that they put in a support request and that was 9 days ago. I still don't have my money and I can't refill my husband's Alzheimer's medicine. I am at my wits' end. I don't know how to get the money returned.

I signed up for a year subscription of AMC+ in Nov 2022, I canceled my subscription in Oct of 2022, I did not receive an email about the cancellation but assumed it was made. On Nov 25 *** was deducted from my checking account without prior notice for a years subscription that I did not authorize. I called and was told that no refund would be given, I ask to speak to billing and they refused, I have called numerous times to speak to a supervisor only to be told one would call me back, of course no one has. I just want a refund for the money that I did not authorize after my cancellation.

Streaming services automatically charged my credit card $83.88 on November 29, 2022, for an annual membership renewal which we did not request. They did that without any prior notice. I canceled on November 30. I talked with customer service and requested a refund. They said that the decision is up to their management. When I asked for a supervisor of Billing, they said there is none. I received an email from Billing declining our request for a refund. They mentioned that when I originally signed up for a Black Friday deal a year ago, that information was included. I did not see anything like that. This is a deceptive practice. I want my full refund credited back to my credit card. This policy is deceptive. It took research to even locate a phone number for the company, and discussions with supervisors are non-existent.

AMC Networks In November , the online platform advertised a free trial week for their streaming service.

In November , the online platform advertised a free trial week for their streaming service, with a subsequent monthly fee. I created an account and provided my credit card details. However, they charged an annual fee instead of monthly. After completing the transaction, I encountered issues accessing the service without a cable provider, which I don't have. My attempts to log in failed, and no contact information was available for support. I contacted my credit card issuer to halt the payment upon realizing the scam, but the charge for the annual subscription had already been processed. The platform deliberately charged annually, knowing it would be harder to cancel. I've since canceled my credit card to prevent further charges. The platform's cancellation policy misleadingly directs to contact cable providers, which are unrelated to their billing. I request a refund from the platform for the service I cannot access.

I had a free 7-day trial for a service and I got that on a premium website two weeks ago today. I didn't opt for a subscription post-trial. Now, two weeks later, past the trial's end, I was charged today. Instead of a monthly fee, they billed me $88.91 for an annual subscription. No warning email about the trial's end or the upcoming charge was sent. The charge occurred today, April 4, 2022. Their support page lacks refund info, and contact numbers didn't connect to the service provider. I reached out to a related network, was directed to email, and opened a support ticket today. However, given others' feedback, I'm skeptical of their concern. Last week, I attempted to cancel my account, but login issues on the website prevented me. I managed to cancel today, yet there's no refund option. The email for my account is undisclosed. The customer service is appalling. I demand a full refund! I couldn't log in on the original website, so I used a friend's computer to cancel. Last week's cancellation attempts failed due to a non-responsive login button. I finalized the cancellation today, 4/4/22, but the website inaccurately shows a 3/22/22 cancellation date. So why the charge on 4/4/22?

I noticed when reviewing my bank account, I was shocked to discover a payment was posted from AMC plus on Dec. 1st of *** for an annual subscription. I had not authorized this and was not notified of the charge. This has been a difficult year for me. I am recuperating from breast cancer, had a mastectomy in October, am enduring radiation treatment . I am currently unable to work and on a limited fixed income. I at first had difficulty finding how to even access an account as it depends on how the account was iniated. I did, and immediately cancelled, a note said cancellation received enjoy until 2023. I reached out by email on Dec.2nd and called customer service today at ***. Rep stated she would send ticket on to Billing. *** rep asked if I would take survey at end of call. I said yes. She asked that I give high marks. There were two questions. First asked if I would refer AMC rating up to 10 I said 7, based on my experience, I cannot give 10 or refer others when I am having an issue with this AMC. Second question how did I rate customer service assistance today rating up to 5 I said 4, as she was nice. However, at that point I had not heard anything from AMC. Within minutes after hanging up, at 11:16 AM this morning, I received an email stating refund denied enjoy programming through 2023. I wonder if I had given a higher rating...This is unacceptable this is not in my budget, I cannot eat AMC programming nor will AMC programs cover money not being available or NSF fees. Companies charging without notice and forcing you to continue services no longer wanted, creating hardships. Unfair business practices, hence my complaint. I request a full refund

AMC Networks Today, 6/30/22, I was charged the full year's worth of **** services despite signing up for a week long trial with an intent to become a monthly

Today, 6/30/22, I was charged the full year's worth of *** services despite signing up for a week long trial with an intent to become a monthly subscriber. It looks like *** does a poor job, intentionally, to inform subscribers they will immediately begin charging a yearly amount when other similar platforms allow for trials to lead to monthly subscriptions. I believe the website promotes fraudulent statements to subscribers about the trial while not informing them of the yearly charge to come, or informing them prior to charge of ***'s intent to charge a whole year at once. When searching on *** the term *** charged me for a whole year has many results indicating this to be a potential legal issue for *** in the years to come as more consumers become aware of their rights to be fully informed of charges, and the charging schedule. Also suspicious and unfortunate? *** provides zero receipt to customers via email indicating their own awareness of the likeliehood of customers to immediately demand a refund when informed of a yearly charge. Instead, *** may depend on customers not noticing until it's too late, but this recession does not afford me such an opportunity. I'd be happy to be a monthly subscriber, but to charge me for yearly without asking is not cool; and could be a major reason this platform will continue to struggle. Do it right, and more customers will stay. I'm also concerned that *** opens it up to legal action by not providing customers a receipt for an expensive and unexpected charge in today's age. It's unusual at best and indicates a general strategy to raise funds via promotional activities that are unwise at best, fraudulent at worst. Terrible for the brand!

AMC Networks On 11/19/22 AMC+ attempted to get money for a subscription from my account

On 11/19/22 AMC+ attempted to get money for a subscription from my account. There was no renewal reminder or anything sent to me prior to this and it was for an annual subscription. I had taken advantage of a promotion for an annual subscription in 2021 and had intended to potentially change to monthly if I liked it enough.When they made to attempt to charge, the card company alerted me because I didn't have the $91 in my account to process. I immediately went to cancel the subscription. It said the subscription had been cancelled. However, a few days later I received another alert that they tried to pull money out again. I submitted a ticket with them regarding this and was told they would forward my concern over to billing to help me. I never received a response from billing. I also submitted another ticket. Later received an email saying that they were combining my tickets. However when I clicked on the ticket update, it said they closed my ticket...still received no further response. I started another ticket and complained about the fact that they closed the ticket without any response. It looks like they now have escalated the issue to management ...supposedly. According to the ticket info, that was 10days ago...still no response.Also in the meantime, they continued to try to charge me, and my credit card company pushed the charge through eventually and put me in the negative. I didn't have the money for the charge, and I explained this to them (amc+) prior to the charge going through. I also didn't use the service enough to justify keeping it and often forgot about it. I went to cancel so I wouldn't have access to the service anymore. However they continued trying and now won't even respond regarding a refund. It has been almost a month.

AMC Networks In reviewing my credit card charges, I saw I was charged on 10/5/2022 for $83.88 for **** subscription renewal

In reviewing my credit card charges, I saw I was charged on 10/5/2022 for $83.88 for *** subscription renewal. I did not receive any notification of upcoming charges nor did I receive a receipt so I did not know I was charged until I logged into my online banking on 10/21/22 at which point I immediately emailed *** Plus to request a refund as I have not used the app for over 6 months prior as it will not stream to my TV and constantly freezes on tablets. I had thought I cancelled last year but was told there was no record and to send proof. In trying to cancel after I saw the charge, I was unable to even locate where I initially subscribed (I checked their direct site, Amazon, and *** to be able to cancel on my own (their website says to cancel from where you initially purchased). I replied that I do not remember when it was but that I'm not even disputing the last years charges as I do not have proof of cancellation but I need a refund for this charge for the upcoming year as it has not been used. I was then told they are unable to refund but they have cancelled my service and I have until the rest of the subscription period (another YEAR) to "enjoy the service" and that their policy is only to refund within 7 days of the charge. I didn't even know about the charge at that point, as nothing was sent to me. It hasn't even reached the point of being on my actual processed statement yet, if I hadn't logged in to check my CC balance, I would not have seen it. They are in violation of FTC guidelines (they do not give an option NOT to auto-renew and they impede the cancellation procedures by making it very difficult to cancel and I never could it myself) and many states have laws requiring notice of renewal be sent prior to accounts charged. I did not receive such notice or a receipt after the charge.

On 11/27/2022 at 11:06am I was notified by my bank that my account was overdrawn. Funds taken at 9:42am. After reviewing, I saw that AMC Plus had taken $93.94. I immediately went searching through the AMC+ App to cancel. There is no customer service number at all listed in the app. I finally found a place to submit and file a ticket (#***) with them requesting a refund and canceled my subscription at 11:43am. My account was only open for 2hrs before I canceled. I ran to the bank on Monday to cover the overdraft and I was given the customer service number *** which was listed on the transaction. I called and spoke to *** who confirmed my acct was active for only 2hrs and canceled, said he would contact billing. My last email from AMC+ Support Call *** dated 12/5/2022 stated they apologize for the delay and my inquiry has been escalated to the proper *** to resolve. Ive heard nothing since.Now, I reviewed this streaming app on 8/13/2022 and 11/26/2022. My AMC Plus acct clearly showed my renewal was 11/27/2023. Thinking I must have originally signed up for 2yrs. I never received a renewal email stating my account would be renewing on 11/27/2022 at the price of $93.94. If that had happened, I would have canceled it then. Plus, I never received a receipt for the payment they did take. Very deceptive business practices by this company.The FTC does have Auto Renewal Laws that require businesses offering subscription plans to obtain from the consumer affirmative consent to subscription plan terms, send confirmation emails with the subscription terms, send renewal notices within a set number of days prior to the plan automatically renewing, and allow consumers to easily cancel their subscriptions, among other requirements. This was not done. All I want is my refund of $93.94.

AMC Networks 11/22/2022 $88.91 yearly subscription

11/22/2022 $88.91 yearly subscription. I cancelled subscription the week before. Unfortunately I can't find the email confirming the subscription. I didn't think to check, I had cancelled 4 other subscriptions the same day. I check my account and saw a charge for $88.91 for the subscription which I couldn't understand why, when I know I cancelled it. so because I was charged I had to go in and cancel it again. I submitted a ticket the same say I say the charge to my account explaining to them the same thing. I don't use the subscription. I barely used it when I first got it for only $23.88 a year ago. I'm sure they can see that I don't use the service at all. So they are basically forcing me to use a service I know that I am not going to use, because they don't want to give me a refund. They were only willing to issue me a discounted price and give me a partial refund, which still doesn't do me any good, if I don't use the service. Why should I have to be forced to pay and use a service I know I'm not going to use. All I keep getting is we can't issue you a refund. So after speaking with a supervisor, I was told to see if I can find something on the service that I may want to watch. Because their policy doesn't issue any refund. When I was charged, they assumed I wanted the subscription. I stated with me calling in to dispute the charged because I knew I canceled it didn't matter. If I called and said I don't want it, causes the assumption to be nulled and void. None of my concerns and issues about the whole charge didn't matter to them at all. The only way I could get a refund is if it was because of bank fraud. There was nothing that could be offered because the subscription was cancelled. The only thing I was offered was a decreased renewal rate. That doesn't help me when I don't want the subscription at all. I can't even find the refund policy on the website.

AMC Networks My **** subscription was set to renew on 11/23/2022

My *** subscription was set to renew on 11/23/2022. The week before I would log on to cancel my subscription, but wasnt able to because there was no option on the app or the website. On 11/22/2022, I logged back on, and it said my account was set to renew 11/23/2023. I found that odd so I contacted them via email (11/22/2022 12:12pm.) and inquired about this and also stating that I did not want to be caught off guard with any new charges. They responded the next day saying that my account appeared lapsed due to failed payments. They were trying to give me a discount of $24 for the upcoming renewal charge or even to switch me to a monthly subscription. I let them know that I didnt want to renew. They said that they can help me with this and that they will forward the request to the billing team so they can stop the payment attempts on my account. On 11/28/2022, there was a pending amount of $90.80 on my card. I emailed them again that day letting them know that I canceled my subscription and was charged, and I wanted a full refund. They didnt reply till days later saying that they will respond to all my requests shortly. Then December 2 they responded saying that they have resolved the technical issues affecting my access to *** plus. I wasnt even trying to access *** plus I have not used it since November. I replied back saying again I canceled my subscription and I wanted a refund. They responded days later saying the same thing they will try to give me a discount that they werent going to give me a refund. First they say theyre going to help me and then they say theyre not. I dont want a discount. I want a full refund. I have no need to use their service. This situation with them is very infuriating especially since there is no contact number for them. After this stunt that they are pulling, giving me the runaround, I will never be a subscriber with *** plus. Please have them issue the refund. This shouldnt of have gone this far.

I signed up for a 7 day free trial for *** Plus streaming service on 7/28/22. There was some information about how they would bill for one month, or 1 year after the trial ended. I was under the impression that they would pro-rate the subscription amount if I cancelled early. Unfortunately I had to go out of town to attend a memorial service for a family member. When I returned on 8/12/22, I cancelled the service, expecting to be billed for 1 month. Instead they have billed me for *** a full year. When I tried to contact them to request a refund, the phone numbers they gave me for customer service are disconnected (see other existing complaints from other customers regarding ***+ phone numbers not working). I then opened a ticket with customer service explaining my situation, and they said they would not refund any amount. I was outraged at their response. They clearly have deceptive billing procedures and after reading many of them on the complaintsboard.com, I told them I fully intend to report my experience there. I did not understand that I would be billed for an ENTIRE year as soon as 7 days had expired, and it is not clear on their site. Further, when I went into my account, nowhere In your frequently asked questions is any mention of what these strict rules are in terms of refunding unused subscriptions. There are numerous complaints on Complaintsboard.com with the same issue.I have worked in the film business for over 35 years, for a multitude of major motion picture studios, and I have never encountered such deceptive practices when it comes to subscriptions. No other service has this kind of deceptive customer service. I am requesting a refund for 11 months of service, I am willing to pay for 30 days, but no more.How can they expect to build a loyal customer base with these kind of reprensible practices?I am also informing my colleagues at work about what a bad experience I've had. What can we do about this? Sincerely

AMC Networks My **** subscription was set to end at midnight on 11/20/2022

My *** subscription was set to end at midnight on 11/20/2022. I attempted to cancel my subscription starting 11/20/2022 at approximately 10:45 pm (after TWD finale ended at 10:30pm). The website said my login info was incorrect (even though I use the same login and password for everything). I clicked on the link to receive an email with a reset link to login, but it never came. I attempted the same thing several times on 11/20 and again throughout the day on 11/21 before receiving the link at 5:01 pm. At that time it was too late and the charge for a yearly subscription of $88.91 was pending on my banking account. THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE NMUMBER TO CALL TO DIRECTLY SPEAK TO A CSR! I created a ticket explaing my situation to *** and all they want to do is offer a refund of $24. I never wanted to renew in the first place. I attempted to renew before the cutoff day/time and could not because of an issue directly related to problems withing *** billing/customer service/software. I expected a full refund, and still expect a full refund. *** can look through their records to see where I attemped to cancel in time. I finally made contact within 24 hours to request cancellation and refund. I have not used the app to watch anything since TWD finale on 11/20 - as it is the only show I watched on ***, I have no need to continue my subscription as I will not use it at all. I will never be an *** subscriber again. A refund of $24 from an $88 error on ***'s end leaves me paying $64 for less than 24 hours of an unwanted service that I haven't used and didn't want. Doesn't sound right to me or anyone else reading this complaint. Please issue the refund I should've gotten without question -ASAP, as it is the right thing to do and shouldn't have even went to a Complaintsboard.com complaint to begin with. I am a single mother on a poverty level income with state assistance and the holidays are here. I need to feed my kids and buy a few things to put under the tree.

I signed up for a Free 7 day trial for Sundance Now as a gift for my dad on January to see if he would like it. He told me later that month that he did not want to keep it so he logged into the account on the Sundance Now app. Under 'my account' he selected the option to cancel the account. A message popped up within the app confirming that the membership was canceled and he could continue to use it until the end of the month. The account was canceled within the 7 day window as required to avoid the charge for an annual membership using a box provided to cancel accounts. In February , I noticed my credit card statement showed that I had been charged the annual subscription fee of $59.99. I tried to reach them by phone but the website states there is no phone number option for customer service. I contacted them by submitting a ticket on the support page with both my name and my dad's name and email address but they did not respond. Later in February, my father logged into his account through the Sundance Now app and submitted a ticket to notify them of the situation. He received confirmation of the ticket. Afterward, he sent them a screenshot showing that the cancelation tab was not present on his account and instead a 'reactivate' tab showed (indicating account was canceled). Sundance Now responded later that month telling him that his account is still showing as active and stated if there is an issue with their cancelation process they would like to know for further investigation. They also sent him instructions on how to cancel. He reviewed the instructions and noted that they indicated not to cancel on the app. However, as mentioned above, the option to cancel on the app exists, without any indication that it would not be valid or work. Later in February, my father responded and asked to be sent confirmation of cancelation as well as a refund of the annual fee. Sundance Now replied that they canceled the account later that month which contradicts their earlier email stating it was active. They also refused a refund.
