I got an epidural when my baby was born
I got an epidural when my baby was born. I got a bill from American Anesthesiology of Virginia and set up a payment plan by phone. I told them we were trying to work out some issues with our insurance and they were nice and set up a payment plan for 12 months. Then, I got a notice from a collections agency for the same amount. The collections agency says I gotta pay them and they don't know when they'll report me. Their hold times are so long.
I had surgery on my back last year, on August 16
I had surgery on my back last year, on August 16. American Anesthesiology of VA. charged me $11,232.85, but my insurance company (Anthem BC/BS FEDERAL) paid all but $119.41. However, American Anesthesiology of VA. said I still owed them $2,198.41. I've called them and BC/BS many times, but we haven't been able to fix it. They keep saying they're still looking at it. Today, on August 10, 2022, they told me they looked at it urgently on July 30, 2022, but nothing happened after that. It's almost been a year and we still haven't solved it.
I'm in the military and my son, who has special needs, got service from American Anesthesiology of Virginia
I'm in the military and my son, who has special needs, got service from American Anesthesiology of Virginia. We got all the referrals we needed before the procedure. But this company keeps sending bills to Tricare for Life, which we're not even in. We have Tricare for active duty. Someone from the company needs to call me to fix this and stop sending bills to the wrong Tricare. I talked to someone in November 2022 and she said the bill was sent to Tricare for active duty, but I just got a rejection letter from... Tricare for Life! They need to send the invoice to the right place, especially since we did everything we were supposed to do with the referrals.
I had a medical procedure on December 3 and insurance covered $2,394.86 of the total $2,448.81, leaving $53.95 due.
I had a medical procedure on December 3 and insurance covered $2,394.86 (on 12/28) of the total $2,448.81, leaving a balance of $53.95. Then on February 8, 2022, I received a bill for the remaining amount. I contacted them on 4/5, mentioning my secondary insurance, Anthem BCBS Va, which covers additional costs. They agreed to bill them. On 3-26-22, another letter arrived demanding payment. I called to reiterate my coverage. By 5-6-22, a final notice arrived. Another call led to a representative promising to contact Anthem. They returned, blaming a coding error on Anthem. I insisted on clarification, only to learn from Anthem that the error was on the anesthesiology provider's end.
I got a call from a collection agency about an anesthesia bill from 12/22
I got a call from a collection agency about an anesthesia bill from 12/22. That's a long time ago. This is crazy. They will say they contacted me. They are not being truthful. They never contacted me. I had outstanding health insurance. Insurance would pay. I moved several months after the surgery, but received several other bills prior and my mail was forwarded. They clearly had the correct phone number. They need to offer their sincere apology. Take their bill out of collection. Rescind any report to the credit bureau. Not report the written off bill to the *** as income. Provide me a letter saying that they chose not to bill insurance in a timely manner. I am a paralegal. I want to keep law school open as a career option. Boards of Bar Examiners take unpaid bills very seriously. They need to pay me the greater of $500 or the amount provided by the *** for illegal calls from debt collectors.
I had a colonoscopy and my insurance covered it, but I was billed anyway.
I had a colonoscopy last year, covered by insurance. However, I received a $1092 bill from American Anesthesiology of Virginia, which hadn't billed my insurer. I didn't initially contact them, and when I did, no response. By April , the bill was in collections. I reached out to collections, provided my insurance details, and disputed the charge. Despite multiple calls, the issue persists. Further attempts to contact the office were unsuccessful. I need this resolved immediately.
Had surgery on 9/07/2022 and got a bill in November for ***
Had surgery on 9/07/2022 and got a bill in November for ***. Called to set up payment and auto pay, but was told no auto pay and to pay by the 29th each month. Started paying, but got a call in January saying I was late. Asked why and was told due date changes each month and to go by statement. Not getting statements, so called back to set up new payment and told to go by bill date. Still not getting statements and hold times are long. Pressed 7 to leave message, but nothing happened and call disconnected after 30 minutes. How can I pay if you keep making it hard? Only got one bill and attaching it here.
I had a colonoscopy last year and my doctor said it would be covered by my insurance
I had a colonoscopy last year and my doctor said it would be covered by my insurance. But then I got a bill from American Anesthesiology Of Virginia for the full cost of the service. I talked to them on the phone and they said it was a billing problem, but now they say they have no record of me paying the co-pay. I told them my insurance company can be tricky with coding, but they didn't listen. They said they would resubmit, but now I found out they put the bill on my credit report and it messed up my score. It's not fair that they sent me to collections. This is not okay.
wen i went to dis offis on 8/7/22 they told me i had to pay $597.00 for pain managment eval
wen i went to dis offis on 8/7/22 they told me i had to pay $597.00 for pain managment eval. i had *** advantge and they were in network. i showed them my insuranc card but they said they had to call *** and needed the card. i told them to call anthem but they said they couldnt get it on their computer screen. i saw a physician assistant but no md. same thing happened in x-ray. they said there was no way to get past the *** number on the computer screen. other people went past me to get x-rays even though they arrived much later. note left on mychart was changed three times. prescription was ordered but anthem refused to authorize it. i told them they couldnt be trusted so i wouldnt have shoulder surgery. their claim wasnt paid but they want me to pay $40. bill didnt arrive until 11/27/22. i called them and was told to send an email to them regarding my complaint. but the address they gave me doesnt exist. what kind of business is this that they dont care about the customer at all, but just money.
I set up auto payments for my balance through their customer service center but they couldn't bill my card
I set up auto payments for my balance through their customer service center but they couldn't bill my card. They claim they tried calling me but sent my account to collections without any further communication. They didn't mail any letters because they don't do that once auto payments are set up. I had enough funds in my health savings account and can prove it. I contacted them to transfer my account back from collections but they keep saying they're working on it. I was told I would get a call back but just got a letter from the collections agency saying they refused to transfer the account back. This company is a scam and they do this based on reviews I saw on *** They set up their communication methods so customers end up in this position. It's sad that a company would take advantage of people like this.
I had a tubal ligation procedure on 9/7/2022 at a local hospital
I had a tubal ligation procedure on 9/7/2022 at a local hospital. The costs were covered in full by my health insurance. However, nearly three months post-procedure, I received a message claiming I owed $3,095.84. The billing website provided was suspicious, lacking a bill view but requesting credit card details. Subsequently, a vague paper bill arrived. Upon contacting my insurer, they confirmed full payment and no billing request from the anesthesiology group. This billing error is concerning, and I plan to file a complaint with the ComplaintsBoard.com to prevent any negative impact on my credit score, as others have experienced similar issues with this group.
This company is very difficult to contact
This company is very difficult to contact. I have a collections bill that has errors. I would like someone to contact me regarding this matter. This company is very difficult to contact. I have a collections bill that I was not aware of and is incorrect. I have contacted the hospital and even they have had difficulty contacting this company and billing office. I will leave my complaint at this unless I continue to have difficulty speaking to an actual representative of American Anesthesiology of Virginia. Thank you.

I have absolutely no idea how to get in contact with the American Anesthesiology of Virginia
I have absolutely no idea how to get in contact with the American Anesthesiology of Virginia. I had a bill of $1,235.00 sent to a collections agency and it is effecting my credit score. The total anesthesiology was $2,275.00. The $1,235.00 was deducted as a network discount under ***. The remaining $1,040.00 was paid through my health plan. I owe $0 for this service but it was sent to collections. Its been well over a year and this issue has not been resolved. I have an insurance bill as proof that this portion of my total charges was wrongfully sent to collections. I want this taken care of ASAP and scrubbed from my credit score. Horrible customer service.

Excess Billing, Additional Charges Over Insurance Reimbursement, Rate for Services On January 22 I was in for surgery, and apparently (since who anesthesiologists work for is not communicated) received services from a Dr. ***, of American Anesthesiology of *** (***). I spent the night in the hospital, and was discharged the next day. Approximate elapsed time in and before surgery was 3 hours. My *** insurance, managed by *** was billed, but no bill was submitted to my *** since the surgery itself was before my admittance to the hospital. The rate for services seems very high, as $5,278 was billed to *** for those 3 hours. After a managed care discount of $1055.60, *** paid $3589.04 to *** on Account [protected]. *** continues to bill me an additional $633.36, which would equal a total payment to *** of $4,222.40 for the 3-ish hours of services rendered. Not only do I feel the amount of the bill/rate for services is excessive (c. $1400/hr), but at no time was I informed prior to the surgery that there would be a bill for an excess amount, of over $500, billed to me because the *** refuses to accept the rates of reimbursement provided by insurers. To be clear, this is the third time this has happened...once for cataract surgery, once for the year before's back surgery, and now this. Each amount of overcharge has increased substantially. Thus, it would appear that at least *** has decided that they will, under all circumstances, charge and collect excess amounts beyond those provided by insurance from patients for their services that are provided through a monopoly, likely with fixed prices. In this case, I have paid because I can afford to pay this bill - but what of the poor, or senior citizens without substantial means?
