Ryann was patient and thorough while working with us. As two widows raising 3 children in south central America, the fact that we both began our previous lives in the same neck of the woods - along with the levity we all managed to find together in spite of the subject matter - all helped in making an otherwise uncomfortable conversation more pleasurable than one would expect. To no fault of American Consumer Credit Counseling, we ultimately determined our needs fell outside of the parameters available through your program. To refer to the information that was brought to light by Ryann as eye-opening would be an understatement, and we are incredibly-appreciative for her guidance and input during this beginning stage of our journey.

Those of us that are or have in the past, utilized American Consumer Credit Counseling (ACCC) to help with debt, know how stressful life can be trying to get your debts paid. I enrolled in July, and at the time it felt like I'd never get through it all. I spoke to a representative and she was very kind, knowledgeable, and even sympathetic. In the 3 years since enrolling, I have managed to pay down my debt, while also living my life. They carved out attainable goals, and assured me that they would be a phone call away with any questions or concerns. Whenever I had a question I called customer service and never waited more than a few minutes to get a live person on the other end. I thank you, American Consumer Credit Counseling (ACCC). I'm now just one payment away from being debt free.

The credit counselor did a very good job in helping me navigate through the nasty problem of reviewing my finances. This is never an easy problem to deal with. However, his guidance made it all much more pleasant. He was a pleasure to deal with. I have problems in dealing with money but he never made me feel ashamed at all. I highly recommend this program.

He was very knowledgeable about the services that ACCC provides and so patient as I tried to understand it all. When I worried about how much time I was taking, he reassured me that, "if you have the time, then I have the time." Until, I was introduced to American Consumer Credit Counseling (ACCC)...A former director mentioned ACCC to me, and I called only to be introduced to an awesome representative, Ms. [Representative's Name]. Not only was she professional, she exhibited the epitome of top-notch customer service. Ms. [Representative's Name] was very detailed about the programs offered, she listened and allowed me to ask questions and speak. More importantly, Ms. [Representative's Name] made me feel valuable as a human being on this earth. I had begun to feel somewhat shameful of the amount of debt lingering over my head due to circumstances way above anyone's control. Ms. [Representative's Name]' assistance renewed helped to lift a heavy financial burden. I can now breathe while grieving and get through this painful family experience. We had a very extensive session with a credit counselor from the American Consumer Credit Counseling, Inc. I did not know what to expect going in, never having had such an experience, however, I will use them often as we move ahead and meet future situations where such counseling would be helpful. We felt pretty self-sufficient having had decades of experience in this field, however, as we started the conversation we realized there was a lot the counselor had to share which we needed to know to make good decisions. They were extremely helpful, answered all of our questions completely, raised some issues for us to think about which completely missed us until they suggested them, promised materials we needed and requested and that arrived within hours of the session. We can't say enough good things about the American Consumer Credit Counseling and urge those thinking about such to call and ask for the counselor. You will not be disappointed and you will end your session with an open invitation to feel free to call them if you have questions which surface after the session.

I cannot say enough good things about American Consumer Credit Counseling. I signed on as a client in mid 2017 when I was completely drowning in debt. I had been on my own financially since I was 18 and had accumulated quite a bit of debt. I called just for information and spoke with a man named [Name] who was so helpful, I signed up on the spot. He helped me with a budget and also gave me some general advice for helping my credit. In almost 4 years since I signed up, I signed into my account today for the second time. Once they have their monthly payment, they take care of everything. They also make adjustments as accounts are paid off to pay off larger balances. I've lived by this budget over the last almost 4 years and paid off my car and other accounts I had debt on (not included in consolidation). About a year and a half after I became a client, I was diagnosed with cancer. I was able to keep up with my medical bills and pay them off, too. I'm so proud to say I have a savings account (with money actually in it!) and am saving for a house. I never thought I would be debt free and it is all because of American Consumer Credit Counseling. I would have never gotten here by myself. I highly recommend to any and everyone in need of some help!

I decided to go for credit counseling before I went too far down the slippery slope into debt. As someone who buries their head in the sand when I become overwhelmed, this service was exactly what I needed. After we went over my debt and expenses, we created a budget. When everything was all laid out in black and white, I was able to confront my financial situation from an informed position. After I made the initial inquiry, the agents were extremely helpful and professional. The first agent I spoke to, Asia was a delight! She was kind, helpful, friendly and made the intake enjoyable! I dont recall the second agent I spoke to's name and, although was clearly reading from a script, this did not bother me as she maintained a professional and helpful demeanor. The 3rd agent was exceptional. He wrapped up the intake with me and was generous with his knowledge, answered my questions and alleviated my concerns by offering clear and concise explanations. My head is no longer buried in the sand and I am looking towards a bright future! I am a widowed mother to a 17-year-old daughter who is getting ready for college. I am a small business owner, and a homeowner. I highly recommend ACCC, without reservation.

American Consumer Credit Counseling has been a perfect solution for my friend's credit card debt! My friend (I'll call her Jane) had early signs of dementia and her credit card debt was out of control. She could not make the minimum payments on 11 different credit cards and was juggling payments, late fees and interest every month. We called American Consumer Credit Counseling and learned about this non-for-profit program. When Jane decided to enroll in the program, we spent about an hour on the phone, with a knowledgeable, courteous and helpful advisor, who took all of Jane's financial information. She ran a report on Jane's credit card debt. Prior to Jane's program, her minimum monthly payments would have been over $3000. American Consumer Credit Counseling negotiated with each credit card company, and her total monthly payment was a manageable $746.00. One check was withdrawn automatically every month and all of the creditors were paid by Jane. There were no more late fees and most companies stopped charging any interest. The American Consumer Credit Counseling website was easily accessed and useful. Since Jane was not able to understand the whole process due to her dementia, she agreed with American Consumer Credit Counseling that I could be her proxy. I never had to hassle with annoying recordings, and was always able to speak a very professional advisor whenever I had questions. This is one of the most satisfying customer experiences I have ever had.

I am working with ACCC and they are a life saver. They were able to get much better interest rates on my credit cards and lower payments. I am able to pay off my credit card debt in 5 years instead of 28. Plus, I only pay one sum each month instead of many. It was all on line and e-mails. There were only a few phone conversations. It was fast and everyone I worked with was very helpful! I don't know what I would have done without them! I was nervous but now I wish I had done it a long time ago because they give you advice on ways to not get in debt again and they create a budget for you. It does hurt your credit a bit but mine was bad anyway because of the amount of debt. But you can build your credit back up. They do combine all your credit cards and you wonder how you can survive without one but with the money you save, you don't need one. I was so motivated after, I then called my credit union and asked them how I could combine my loans for a lower interest rate and a lower payment. The only thing I needed was a co-signer because of my credit rating, and then again I saved more money. This is a real review from a real person, don't wait another day worrying about how you will pay your credit card bills. If the credit card companies didn't charge such high interest rates, it would be so much easier, but they do, and now there is a way to make it better!

I felt very pressured into doing this and I kept saying I was unsure and I needed time. I was told I needed to provide account info and date to stat the program. I kept saying I was need time to think about it. The payment was way more than I could afford and they kept saying to just make my budget smaller. I cut it down and at that point I would only have 30 in my account left over. They even told me to decrees my insurance to a lower plan. I am a chronically ill person and I need the insurance that I have and I was pressured more into moving forward with the plan. I was finally able to hang up and say I still needed more time. I started receiving calls several times a day that I would have to just send to voicemail and I kept getting emails to sign documents. I had to call in 5 times to get someone to finally remove me, or so he said. This was today. The 3rd person I spoke with when I asked to not contact me and that I had changed my mind and I couldnt afford this program he was just about yelling at me. Saying it was my fault and that I should have made myself more clear. Finally he said he would remove me but he was very angry about it. I continued to get calls and emails. This place is horrible and takes advantage of people that are in a rough spot. I am terrified that yet again I will be forced in to this plan because I was coerced in to providing my banking information and a start date. This is a nightmare.

I was a mother of 4 (now 5) changing careers after serving as a military officer. In order for me to do that my husband stayed home so that our children were not neglected. We had many unforeseen expenses such as moving expenses, hospital, state, national credentialing expenses for my new job, registration expenses for private school for my children, and new home expenses such as washer/dryer, inspection of the new home etc. My new job makes a nice living, but I had to tackle the previous expenses that I had on credit cards as well as student loans. I was so afraid about falling victim to sharks promising to help me. I called my creditor who is also my bank to talk to a financial advisor. They had shut down financial advising a few years prior and wouldn't budge on my interest rate. Desperate I asked well who do you refer people like me to? What am I supposed to do? They gave me a list of 3 non for profit companies that they currently dealt with. This is how I found out about ACCC. They have set negotiations with creditors to reduce the interest rate. You are still paying the full amount, but at a rate that you will still be alive to pay back and move on from. This company is a godsend. I am so sorry that their founder died this past year - his vision to help people like me conquer debt is beautiful. This company is a bright shining star in what can feel like a hopeless situation. They are incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, easy to contact, polite, and non-aggressive because they are not for profit company. They are truly one my of biggest blessings. I found out about American Consumer Credit Counseling (ACCC) through a faith-based radio station out in my local area. And I was able to use them when I had a high credit amount of $6,000. It took me a couple years to pay that off. I listened to their advice and paid down my debt hoping to never get into debt again. About 8 years later I got into debt again after a break up, and I had learned through a program called Financial Peace University that singles self-medicate through shopping and that was me! I tried the debt snowball thing but I had 4 credit cards and all were nearly maxed out. I added them up and I have $18,000 in credit card debt. I felt like a failure and knew the $600 of $1,000 I paid every month was going to interest charges, I had felt like I was drowning and I could never not if us didn't get help. Because I knew about ACCC and how they helped me before, I called them up. They do a complimentary financial counseling session with you over the phone, go over your debts and then set up a plan with you. They are all very helpful and each time I have called over the phone everyone I've spoken with has been very kind and have answered all my questions. I am writing this review because I already let others know how they've helped and sometimes reading someone's story can help you feel you're not alone and you can get help too. I'm also very thankful that my husband has been able to help me through this process because sometimes with this much debt, a person can think their worth and value is tied to how much money you have. In reality, money isn't a defining factor of value. It's a tool we can use to live and get through life. I'm learning a simple lesson I should have learned a long time ago: to be content in every season, whether I have a lot or have little. I hope that if you need help, you would give American Consumer Credit Counseling a call.

I finished a pre bankruptcy course about a week ago on June 10th
I finished a pre bankruptcy course about a week ago on June 10th. After which you are required to talk to a counselor to complete certification and and to get the certification letter. I have called every day of the week. I've not been able to get through after hours of waiting on hold and multiple messages left asking for a returned phone call. I spoke with someone in debt consolidation department and was told my account is flagged and she said I would be called at the very latest in an hour and a half. I never got that call. Currently I'm on hold for over an hour and nothing. Usually after an hour or so I'll get the "we're experiencing a high call volume and to try back the next business day" and then I get hung up. For a business that advertises exceptional customer service, I can't help but think that is false advertising. I would gladly have paid more to have this whole bankruptcy councelling behind me by now. Unacceptable.
