basically multilevel marketing
The company has you come in for unpaid training and mandatory phone nights and meetings all unpaid. They guide you for 6 months and then let you fail by giving you horrible leads and not responding to help needed. After six months you are no longer giving the manager and higher ups the larger percentage of money to THEIR pockets.WHat do they do? Hirer a new set of "agents" and take residuals from the ones pushed out. They teach you to lie to get into the door and then turn the "free" benefits into paid ones and intimidate you until you give in or throw them out. If you want to make money become a manager and steal from the rest.

I was thinking that the Interview will be for the position of Union Coordinator but was shocked to see American Insurance company and staff trying to make me an Insurance agent. I am single mom having 3 daughter's and have paid baby sitter to take care of my youngest daughter and drived almost 25 mile ( one side) to attend the interview and wasted my time and effort today. This was one of the worst companies I ever had experience and believe me will make sure that formal complaint is raised against You and Your Company with BBB and also going to update my horrible experience in linked in and other professional websites. I just cancelled my policy because I cannot afford it, easy enough until she says I get nothing back for the past 4 years I've paid. That is stealing from people. you take my money monthly, put it in your bank, then say sorry, its mine now. How is this legal or fair?

My husband and I purchased life insurance 2 years a go, the sales rep pushed a rider for mortgage pay-off. We purchased it along with life insurance. He stated we both would be protecting one another and if something happened to both of us it would goto my daughter. My h husband passed away August 14, 2015 of sudden cardiac death at the age of 43. When i filed the claim I was told the mortgage would only be paid if it was an accident. Really? that is not what we were told or we would not have purchased it. Our goal was to make sure the other was taken care of. We were also, told they were the only company that offered the Freedom of Choice certificate for the funeral home. We each had $20, 000 life insurance also. It has yet to be payed or the funeral home they are not sure when it will be processed since they are doing a full medical investigation. I'm sure to try and get out of paying it. I was advised to file a bad faith complaint for the agent telling us lies about the mortgage pay-off I think they should have to honor what the agent told us.
I almost called 911
I received a call from a rep. stating that my union was giving me additional life insurance. He (not sure of his name; Jason or Jared)was pushy in the fact that he insisted that he had to drop off the paperwork at my home. After many calls, and me trying to convince him to just mail the paperwork, he convinced me of stopping by quickly to drop the paperwork off. He came at 9pm Wed. 08/12/2015. He insisted on giving me several presentations about his company. When I got up and refused to listen to more of his presentation, he got angry and would not leave. I was about to call 911 because he would not compose himself. Thank God my husband and son were home.
It is because they are not a union. They are trying to up-sell you on Life Insurance. You should have called 911.

I am recently unemployed. Over the last several weeks I have sent out over 150 resumes. So I received a callback from a Craigslist posting from American Income for a possible Administrative Assistant or Customer Service Rep. Position. When I set the appointment, it was through a call center. And the representative told me that the salary ranges were 40k-75k per year. She scheduled me to meet with whom I thought was a recruitment manager with this this company. It took me over 45 minutes and well over a half a tank of gas to get there. When I arrived, the gentleman that I was supposed to meet with was not there and another colleague of his took me into an office and literally grilled me for all of 5 minutes about why I would want to work there. And then told me to come back tomorrow for a group overview. When I asked him what that was he told me that it was an overview of the company. That is when I knew this was nothing more than a sales pitch. I am so angry that these companies get away with this. First of all this was supposed to a scheduled interview. This man just basically pulled the "stare and try to intimidate" act on me. A total of 5 minutes and out the door? Are you kidding me. I think the Better Business Bureau needs to hear about these tactics. Very angry.

I am one of Fred and Dorothy Werner’s daughters. My parents reside at 317 Echo Lane, Colorado Springs, Colorado. I understand my sister, Pegi Rozell has been trying to contact SOMEONE at American Income Life for weeks. My parents had an appointment with a representative named Alexander in October and he was a no call, no show. Then my parents had an appointment with a lady from American Income Life in October and they were advised to get more medical records of their expenses associated with my dad’s cancer and then someone would see them afterwards. My parents have gotten all of their documentation needed and have been waiting for weeks for trying to contact someone to reschedule the appointment. Attempted contact has been made numerous times. By phone my sister is told the mailbox is full, or has not been set up and that is in the Denver office and at the manager of the Colorado Springs office. There was an appointment for 11-05 and that was a no call, no show as well. My family is extremely frustrated with not being able to contact anyone to reschedule this appointment. My parents are 86 and 82 and this kind of treatment to them and my family is very disrespectful and unacceptable.

I put a resume on career builder and got an email from american income life in menomonee falls wi. It thanked me for my interest and someone would get in touch with me. I didn’t even apply with them for a job. So a woman from human resources there in menomonee falls calls me and goes over the jobs available and if i’d be interested in one. Then when i said i had no car, she hung up on me. Well excuse me. I never even applied for a job there. Those people sure are rude.

Recently I was contacted by Josh Latini, Talent Manager, Vena & Associates, Arias Agencies in regards to employment. I specifically asked if the position involved selling and let him know that I had no interest if it did. He said that not all positions available involved selling; he lied.
The way the company is structured requires you to sell in order to move up; something he had to know. Obviously he had a quota to meet and did not care if he wasted my time and gas. Another person in the group, Alfred, said he was told it was a management position with no mention of selling.
Such disregard for others does not speak well of the company culture.

I received a text from this number. The message was just my first name with a question mark. I did not recognize the number, but called later that evening to see who it was. The man that answered said that he had contacted me about an open position with Surace Smith I applied for. He could not tell me any details, but to call the same number the next day to schedule an interview. I'm glad I checked this sight. I am really pissed that Monster makes my information available to these scammers.

I received a phone call in response to my resume posting on Monster.com by a man named 'Edward' pitching a Customer
Service/Sales position with no "Cold Calling" and that involved "Labor Union Members." An interview was set up for the next day at a location not far from my home. Having been raised in this area, I am familiar with most major companies but had never heard of the Mathew Henderson Agency. Something about the call didn't seem right as the representative was talking rather fast
and seemed to be in a hurry to get on to his next call. I decided to do some research online about the business, whose name I realized very quickly during the research, was not in any way connected to American Income Life Insurance Company during the phone call. After completing my research, and finding out that this business was, in fact, connected with the insurance company I tried to do the professional thing and cancel my interview so that another interested candidate could take advantage of the time allotted. The representative's phone answering system was full, of course, and the local agent/business hung up on me. As with others scammed by this insurance agent, my advice to job seekers out there is to do your research... thoroughly! DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK QUESTIONS and ask representatives to repeat information given rapidly over the phone. Unfortunately many of the opportunities today really are misleading or outright scams... and when something doesn't feel right, trust your instincts!

I just received a call from Amanda at the Matt Henderson Agency. I looked up this company on line to see these scam alerts. I too am like you and concerned that our resumes can be seen by scam artists.
In my opinion, any company that has to be vague or dishonest in order to recruit new blood is not an organization anybody needs to be a part of. I received a similar campaign pledge, from "Amanda" and "Victoria" [protected]). They didn't even have the decency to wait for an answer; instead they called from a restricted number and did something to trigger only have a ring before going straight to voicemail. If you call me and don't even want to invest the time into talking to me, then I don't want to talk to you.
Scam or not, it's just not good business.
So many people want to use job boards like Career Builder and don't realize they agree to the Terms and Conditions
for them to use your data, information, and resume to sale to companies. Same thing with Facebook when they sale advertising.
Its often the people "like in the previous statements" that have entitlement issues, that don't get it, and are not good listeners they hear what they want to hear make up bogus statements and lies. Just because a position is not a good fit for them, it maybe just what someone else was looking for.
These people that have enough time and energy to come on here post negative comments, are more than likely confrontational human beings and disgruntled in some way. Stop pointing the finger at other people and learn to hold yourself accountable.
I also received a call from "Edward" as well as a " Nancy Miller", who is never in the office. I spoke with Edward who informed me on July 6 at 7:36 a.m. MT that they recruit for local healthcare and unionized healthcare facilities. I stated I was not interested in that particular type of employment and to please remove me from their database. Edward stated on July 6, "it will take 24 - 48 hours to have that completed, I have made notes in our system." While on the phone with Edward "Nancy Miller" calls in and leaves a voicemail.
This morning, July 13, I receive a call from a private number and "Nancy Miller" again leaves me another voicemail. I immediately called back and requested to speak with her and guess who answers the phone and says Nancy is not in the office. That's right! Edward. I asked him about his prior affirmation of removing me from the call list and placing notes in the database. He immediately became defensive and refused to allow me to speak. He amended his original statement to say that he has no control on what resumes are contacted on Monster, Indeed, Beyond, Career Builder and the like. To my disdain, he went further and had the audacity to tell me if I did not want to be contacted to make my resume "private" thereby preventing any true potential employers from seeing my credentials. He continued on and on without professionalism to the point that I told him I would not argue or speak over him and hung up.
My question is, has anyone contacted BBB or an attorney regarding the continued harassment?

I have worked for the American Income Life office in Daytona Beach for 18 months now. Often times companies need to rely on recruiting companies to help sift through the thousands of job seekers. These are 3rd party companies and unfortunately they don't always do the job the way it should be done. However, most companies like ours, appreciate feed back when these types of situations take place
Here are some facts that I have experienced in the last 18 months:

YES- You do have to work hard, especially in the beginning (Best things in life don't come easy) but if you have good time management and consistently work on mastering your job, you will find you will eventually be working smarter not harder and will be working less and less hours. Unless of course you want to earn even more and choose to keep the hours.
YES- They provides leads and of course the best thing you can do for yourself is get referrals to give yourself even more leads. Everyone knows the best business is word of mouth business. So why wouldn't you want to increase YOUR business.
YES - it does require a State License. Almost every professional job requires one (Barber, Contractor, Doctor, Lawyer, Plumber...)
YES- You can make way above average income but it is up to you to get out there and do the work. They provide you the tools and the training it's up to you to use them.
recieved a call from a man who identified himself on voicemail, as "Edward" from Robinson and Associates which stated they found my resume on careerbuilder (which I rarely use) Very unprofessional voice mail, had to replay several times to see what he was saying. The message says he found my resume on careerbuilder which I very rarely use. He said to call him back at [protected]. I called him, and it definitely seemed to be his cell phone # and not an office #. He said I had called or applied for a job position, to which I informed him I was merely returning HIS call, and never applied for a position with Henderson & Assoc. Then he said he found my resume on monster, to which I reminded him that on his vmail, he stated it was on careerbuilder. He proceeded to say that since I live in the Daytona Beach area, he will schedule an interview at 444 Seabreeze Blve, suite 750 32118 in Daytona Beach. He said the location is in the 5th 3rd bank building, 2nd story, 7th floor. I found this interesting, since my resume does not list Daytona area or any area, and all job positions I apply for, are for the tampa area. I questioned this, and he said we can schedule you an interview in tampa this week instead. He said they are hiring all over. I asked is she knew who currently occupying suite 750? She stated she is not sure, and suggested to call the property manager and obtain that information. I left a voice mail with the property manager who has not returned my call yet. I questioned him about the position, and he stated it is a commission job only, and they provide a list of clientele so we don't have to find our own. He further stated that they work with labor union members, providing benefits. I asked if there was travel involved, he said about 15%. A quick glassdoor lookup by name Henderson & Assoc provided a company statement, but had absolutely not a single review, which is extremely rare, for glassdoor. American income life insurance co. Is a beneficial company if you are willing to do nothing but work. These agents sell live insurance to union members and people who are sponsored to the program nationwide. The program varies from state to state and is very beneficial, i do not disagree with what they are doing. They are protecting families, i get it. It’s how they are doing it and what they don’t tell you that has there company struggling to retain and train new agents; and why there company is sneaky and has a terrible reputation. To become an employee / agent you must become licensed first which varies state to state, but expect at least 250 dollars after licensing program and fee, ect. They will reimburse you if you complete the course, pretest, and final exam in 2 weeks. It is achievable however if you have other responsibilities / obligations or another job you have to attend; good luck! Once you pass the exam to obtain your license to sell insurance, now you have to start a minimum of two weeks non paid training before you are released. Once released, you will be calling prospective clients to schedule appointments throughout the week. Ultimately trying to sell them life insurance. Your work schedule is nice in a sense that you make it up yourself and work as you please, but if you don’t put in the time and work, you won’t sell policies! And you won’t be paid! And if you do put in the time and the work you still might not sell policies! Yes, you will work all week, have bookings and clients to entertain and you still might not sell policies! It’s a commission based only job. They will try and tell you that you get a weekly bonus, but that’s only if you sell policies. Some of you might think what’s so hard in selling policies? It’s the fact that your selling people an inanimate object that they never get to see! It is inanimate besides a piece of paper with their policy payout and necessary info. But that’s it. By selling them the policy your protecting their family and preparing for their funeral for when they die. Which is inevitable; so the need and thought is there. However there are numerous other companies and other ways of preparing; as well as the span of time before death. Unless of an accident which is an unfortunate, unexpected tragedy. Which is ultimately why you are there to protect them; by selling a policy. So you’re asking them to pay a monthly premium. Added to all the other bills stacked to the ceiling, in an already rough, struggling, recovering economy; and there you have a recipe for disaster and failure. Which means all the work you’ve done, will have been for nothing. Because you don’t get a paycheck unless you get a sale for them! The way that the company tells you to rebut these people after they tell you “we are not interested” is quite disturbing and uncomfortable. It takes a certain type of resilient person, who won’t take no for an answer to try and coerce these prospective clients to try and have them take out a policy. It really does seem simple and you would think people would want to protect themselves and their families’ right? I mean that’s what i though! Wrong. It is quite difficult to do, you have to coerce them and make them want it even after they have said no. Lets face it. Can you now afford another monthly bill in this day? The coercion and rebuttals that the company teaches you to say really offends the client. For example “sir, you don’t want to protect your family”. Its uncomfortable, its hard, and your relying on other peoples decisions and finances, so you can get paid. You have to “fight” coerce, argue, and convince the client that they need to protect themselves, so you can collect a paycheck at the end of the week. It’s like any guy at the bar that gets turned down by a girl, and they go back again later to try and turn that no into a yes! Its pathetic, its terrible, its uncomfortable!
The company will give agents duplicate leads which are clients who have been seen before, but were not interested in the program and buying a policy; so you will go out to see them again! Guess what? The answers still no! You’ve wasted your time and resources and once again nothing to show for it. The company and its employees will argue that any agents that left ail were unable to do the job. I was an agent who did close on deals, i did have paycheks for about three months. It’s been a month since i was last paid, as i work day in day out making calls, driving seeing clients, and doing the dreaded doorknock to the clients who don’t answer the phone. This job can be done. But at the expense of your family or significant other, your free time and hobbies. This job will consume all of your time. There are jobs out there that will actually pay you for the work you do! Don’t get caught up in this companies untruthful promises and skewed practices. Agents around the country make money everyday with ail. But how long can it continue? How long will you have to “fight” to be paid? As a trainee with american income life i read other agents testimonies on american incomes practices and why it’s such a terrible job and i disregarded them all! I paid no attention to the warnings and fought with my fiancé every time we talked about my job. I never thought that what these agents were saying could be true! Not sure if this is a compliant or not guess more of what I have experienced from them. I have yet to be hired and have a third interview coming up. I responded to an ad on craigslist for customer service dealing with benefits for union members, I emailed my resume to them on a Thursday and heard back by Monday morning though missed the call. After calling them back it went to voice mail that they hadn't set up. I left them a message and didn't hear back again till 7 pm Tuesday, after a brief chat five minutes tops they said they wanted to bring me in for an interview on Thursday. The interview on Thursday was more a quick meet and greet followed by a power point show of who they are and what they stand for. We were also given two questionnaires to fill out which seemed basic for a position starting out that high. We were told that it started out as 55k a year and if selected we would have to take a license test which fee they didn't cover and that they offered training for the test online at 95.00 and in person class for 130ish. I work two jobs 32 hours plus at each so was excited when I got a call for the third interview( which I havn't had yet). After my nerves and excitement calmed down me and my girlfriend looked them up more. Glassdoor.com was mixed saying 56% rating on suggesting it to a friend. Though here it seems to be more negative. I have no complaints with them yet more just detailing what seemed to be a pattern here.

2 the person who initially contacted me wasn't listed as a manager or even recognized on the branch site
3 his call times and voice mail where odd, one would think that if hiring new people you would be more professional with phone call and voice mail.
4 was called back despite having any management experience
5 Questionnaires seemed random and asked how much you make which in hind sight seems pointless for them to know.
I don't know where to stand on them they seemed like a good company on first glance but after looking them up it seems sketchy

Funny ...I went to an interview today with AIL.
I decided to check out AIL on the internet while waiting for the "powerpoint/movie" session(interview #2). Didn't realized soo many websites were filled with unhappy encounters but it made me come up with a few questions to ask them on interview #2.
"Turnover of agents in the first year?"
"Expected hours spent in a day?"
"What common factor did you see in the group of twenty of us today?"
No answer given to any of my questions in the after movie interview. Confused, I asked "wasn't I supposed to ask questions at this point?". He just looked at me and took notes. That was when I truly realized that there was something not quite 'right' here. He had gone all cold on me the second I asked my three queries.
I left feeling all weird and ruffled and when I got home I looked up AIL more thoroughly. Lot of negativity out there! Hey, I fell for the Kirby sales ploy back in the '80's and this is exactly what that felt like.
Soo... Don't take my word if you are a prospective employee just ask a few simple questions yourself before you make the final leap. This might be the job for you.
Point of interest: note that most of the comments found out here about how good AIL is seems to be written by English failures -mis-spelled words, lack of capitalization, run on sentences, etc., etc. Just really doesn't match up to people that make a high wage in any field.
Point of interest: Look around at the people they picked out to sit with you to watch their power point -there is nothing in common with any of them. A hairstylist, a weight trainer, ex-DOC employee, an iron worker... quite a jumble of mismatched job seekers. Odd, since most fields draw people of similar traits.
Point of interest: Did you actually put an application with this company? I did not but didn't realize this until after I got home and reviewed all the app's I put in this week.
Well... I hope I have given YOU enough info to not walk into this blindly. ASK lots of questions! If this sounds like something for you then jump on it!

American Income Life Insurance CO. Is a beneficial company if you are willing to do nothing but work. These agents sell live insurance to union members and people who are sponsored to the program nationwide. The program varies from state to state and is very beneficial, I do not disagree with what they are doing. They are protecting families, I get it. It’s how they are doing it and what they don’t tell you that has there company struggling to retain and train new agents; and why there company is sneaky and has a terrible reputation. To become an employee/ agent you must become licensed first which varies state to state, but expect at least 250 dollars after licensing program and fee, ect. They will reimburse you if you complete the course, pretest, and final exam in 2 weeks. It is achievable however if you have other responsibilities/ obligations or another job you have to attend; good luck! Once you pass the exam to obtain your license to sell insurance, now you have to start a minimum of two weeks NON paid training before you are released. Once released, you will be calling prospective clients to schedule appointments throughout the week. Ultimately trying to sell them life insurance. Your work schedule is nice in a sense that you make it up yourself and work as you please, but if you don’t put in the time and work, you won’t sell policies! And you won’t be paid! And If you do put in the time and the work you Still might not sell policies! Yes, you will work all week, have bookings and clients to entertain and you still might not sell policies! It’s a commission based only job. They will try and tell you that you get a weekly bonus, but that’s only if you sell policies. Some of you might think what’s so hard in selling policies? It’s the fact that your selling people an inanimate object that they never get to see! It is inanimate besides a piece of paper with their policy payout and necessary info. But that’s it. By selling them the policy your protecting their family and preparing for their funeral for when they die. Which is inevitable; so the need and thought is there. However there are numerous other companies and other ways of preparing; As well as the span of time before death. Unless of an accident which is an unfortunate, unexpected tragedy. Which is ultimately why you are there to protect them; by selling a policy. So you’re asking them to pay a monthly premium. Added to all the other bills stacked to the ceiling, in an already rough, struggling, recovering economy; and there you have a recipe for disaster and failure. Which means all the work you’ve done, will have been for nothing. Because you don’t get a paycheck unless you get a sale for them! The way that the company tells you to rebut these people after they tell you “we are not interested” is quite disturbing and uncomfortable. It takes a certain type of resilient person, who won’t take no for an answer to try and coerce these prospective clients to try and have them take out a policy. It really does seem simple and you would think people would want to protect themselves and their families’ right? I mean that’s what I though! Wrong. It is quite difficult to do, you have to coerce them and make them want it even after they have said no. Lets face it. Can YOU now afford another monthly bill in this day? The coercion and rebuttals that the company teaches you to say really offends the client. For example “sir, you don’t want to protect your family”. Its uncomfortable, its hard, and your relying on other peoples decisions and finances, so you can get paid. You have to “fight” coerce, argue, and convince the client that they need to protect themselves, so you can collect a paycheck at the end of the week. It’s like any guy at the bar that gets turned down by a girl, and they go back again later to try and turn that NO into a YES! Its pathetic, its terrible, its uncomfortable!
The company will give agents duplicate leads which are clients who have been seen before, but were not interested in the program and buying a policy; so you will go out to see them again! Guess what? The answers still no! You’ve wasted your time and resources and once again nothing to show for it. The company and its employees will argue that any agents that left AIL were unable to do the job. I was an agent who did close on deals, I did have paycheks for about three months. It’s been a month since I was last paid, as I work day in day out making calls, driving seeing clients, and doing the dreaded doorknock to the clients who don’t answer the phone. This job can be done. But at the expense of your family or significant other, your free time and hobbies. This job will consume all of your time. There are jobs out there that will actually pay you for the work you do! Don’t get caught up in this companies untruthful promises and skewed practices. Agents around the country make money everyday with AIL. But how long can it continue? How long will you have to “fight” to be paid? As a trainee with American income life I read other agents testimonies on American Incomes practices and why it’s such a terrible job and I disregarded them all! I paid no attention to the warnings and fought with my fiancé every time we talked about my job. I never thought that what these agents were saying could be true! But some things you just have to figure out the hard way. DON’T SAY YOU WERENT WARNED!

My husband was in an accident one year ago (May 2012) and he was insured with AIL Insurance company from Waco Texas. His premium clearly stated that he would receive $200 a day for each day he was in the hospital. My husband was completely paralyzed and was hospitalized for 4 months. After much hassle trying to contact and deal with this insurance company, we finally got our payment - for 7 days in the hospital! They said the rest of the time, my husband was "recuperating" which is not covered in his premium. Well of course someone who is paralyzed and in a hospital is "recuperating"! After receiving this news, I started searching the Internet and found thousands of site talking about AIL being a scam company. Now I want people everywhere to be aware of this. I will do anything to get this message all over the Internet. People are paying good money for an insurance that will never pay up if they ever need it. I hope this site is a good place to start with my quest to get the truth out about this insurance company.
My husband and I have Life Insurance through American Income and they are constantly calling, different people every time, to get us to upgrade our policy. We deal with only one person at American Income and we have not heard from him in two years. Tired of the phone calls, harassiment and rudeness.

We have had American Income Life Insurance for 30+ years. The past two years they began calling us to "update" our life insurance, which in itself, is deceptive. Because they say they need to come to our house to "update" it. We told them we didn't need a visit to update it and that we, in no way, shape, or form want to add to our life insurance. We asked to be placed on the "no call" list. Each time they promised to do this, it did not happen. They have continued to call about once every month or so or sometimes sooner. They keep harassing us. It almost seems as if their job depended on the commission of "adding more life insurance". That's how diligent they seem about calling and recommending we "update" our life insurance. We even moved to another state and they continued there. My husband finally told them if we are not taken off the list to call, that we will cash out our life insurance policy.

I received a phone call from "Lisa Heyman" regarding my resume on Careerbuilder.com. She called me yesterday at 8am, which I missed the call and tried to call her back an hour later but it went to voicemail. After playing phonetag for two days I finally got a hold of her. She explained to me they were an insurance company who provides benefits for labor and union workers and then proceeded to ask me what kind of work I am interested in. I found this part strange because my resume online states my interests regarding my degree in college. She then went on to offering me a management position even though I felt that I had no prior experience for obtaining a management position. She asked me a few questions and didn't seem to mind that my responses were not "up to par" - I was also caught off guard with this potential position that I stuttered and answered quickly and hesitantly however she continued to agree with my answers as though I was saying all of the right things. She told me to come to their office on Lisburn road in Camp Hill, PA and bring an updated resume and three professional business references. Not sure what to think.
stay away if looking for employment
I too was called for an interview by an AIL rep who said she (Lady X) had my resume and was told by her director to set-up an interview with me. The next week, I arrived for my interview, if you can call it such, 15 minutes ahead of the appointed time. The process was impersonal--more like a cattle call (I was in a room with about 15 other "candidates", some of which were to be interviewed by the same Mr. X., and some to be interviewed by other staff (from an HR standpoint, I find this unprofessional to have candidates all "huddled" together. Anyway, after a 10 minute wait, my name was called and a Mr. Z (not Mr. X as indicated when I was first contacted) greeted me, and escorted me to his office. Mr. Z did not ask me the "typical" recruiter/HR questions, in fact, his approach was more like he was attempting to sell me a vacuum cleaner, or a used car. When he completed his "script", I asked exactly which position I am being considered for, but he too just like Lady X, never gave me a direct answer, but instead said, "well we'd like to see if everyone we talk to is a "good fit" for us, and if "AIL" is a "good fit" for every candidate, but then instantly he asked me, "how is your work ethic". Mr. Z then tells me that he is going to escort me to a conference room where he would like me to sit, interact, smile, take notes, and ask questions for AIL's overview of the company, and "try to be noticed". Mr Z said this overview is necessary to see "who is a good fit". At this point, my mind is turning on all cylinders. As Mr. Z and I walk to the conference room, he hands me a "personality profile form", and he tells me to complete this form in the conference room while I am waiting for the overview to begin. The profile is 4-5 pages. When I entered the conference room, there are at least 20 so-called "candidates" already seated, filling out their "profiles", and waiting for the overview to being. At this point, I asked Mr. Z to, "point me to the direction of the restroom before I get started with the profile and overview". Mr. Z walks me over to the restroom, and greets me good-bye with, "I'll see you after the overview and have a good day". I waited in the restroom for 5 minutes, then went back to the receptionist and told her, "I am unable to stay", and I left the building and drove away in my car. AIL, in my opinion, scams people to get them in the door to a "so-called" interview, but in reality, they are looking for telemarketers/sales people; however, they never disclosed this piece of information when they initially contacted me, or when they had me meet with Mr. Z. To ask "so-called candidates" to sit for a 1 hour overview of their company, fill-out paperwork, and "try to be noticed" is beyond comprehension from an HR perspective.
I left the interview when I realized it was a cattle call, and before filling out any of AIL's paperwork, and before listening to their overview. Didn't want to listen to their scam any further, and as I said I left and did not give AIL the opportunity to hire or not hire me.
I got a call from AIL . She never told me the name of the company. So I called her back and got the name. I looked on bing to research it. Was not happy with what I found. BBB gave them a F and had an alert on there website. I am not going to waste my time. This makes me so upset. When someone is trying to find a job and they are going to do nothing but waste your time. I have no intention of going to the interview they are just wasting my time.
