2 seat sleeper sofa cushions are constantly slipping out
We bought a brand new american leather loveseat queen sleeper in microfiber fabric 10 years ago but everyone hates sitting on it since the cushions slip out. We paid $2,500 for it so expected a much better product given the high price. We've tried no slip padding, ropes to tie cushions, reversing cushions and other technics but nothing retains cushions. We are constantly adjusting them and they look awful. Please advise or send solution. Thank you, Marina
Desired outcome: Anerican Leather must provide a solution or different cushions since so many customers have reported the same problem.
Klein Sleeper Sofa
The cushions on our sleeper sofa keep sliding off and we have to constantly adjust and can not sit for any length of time before the cushion almost pushes off the couch. This appears to be a common issue and have heard there is a fix and want to know locally where we can find someone to help us fix this. We just want a contact in Seattle who can fix this.
Desired outcome: Local contact experienced in fixing issue
American Leather Queen Plus sleeper
The sleeper couch's mattress is way to firm! I want to find out what mattress topper your recommend to fit the queen plus. The mattress is rock hard!
Will it store inside the couch?
I bought the couch at Lawarance Furniture in San Diego.. They didn't have an answer for me.
Will a topper fit inside of their chaise for storage?
I have the same question. Any answer provided by AL? (11/'23)

Sleeper sofa
We have owned this sofa in a denim-like fabric for several years, but from the beginning, the seat and back cushions have not stayed in place, very much like other complaints I have read on this site. And, as others have said, the back of the cushions are made of a secondary material when the cushions slump, so then you have the unsightly, pilled fabric showing as well. It was an expensive couch that we were persuaded to buy because the sleeper bed was sturdy, and that part has held up well. But in day to day use it has always been an unsightly piece of furniture. We have a matching armchair, in leather, and it has exactly the same problem, so I know it is not a problem particular to the fabric we chose. The image shows how the sofa looks after any usage whatsoever.
Desired outcome: Repair or upholstery advice.
Sulley Sofa Sleeper
We would like to warn people that the American Leather Sleeper Sofa is not the "most comfortable sleeper sofa bed" as marketed. We purchased a custom Sulley Sofa Sleeper for our guest room and our guests have found it to be a very uncomfortable and painful sleeping experience. We purchased the premier mattress after briefly trying it at the store. It seemed fine at the store, but one minute on ours and you feel like you are on a wooden plank. American Leather customer service said they cannot do anything to help and told us we'd have to buy a new mattress if we wanted a more comfortable one. The retailer said we cannot return the mattress and would have to pay for a new one. This was a very expensive mistake. Don't make the same one!
Desired outcome: Refund on premier mattress and purchase of gel or tempurpedic mattress
Get a gel or latex topper and you will be in heaven on that American Leather sofa sleeper mattress. You will need a place to store the topper when not in use as the sofa will not close with the topper inside. Enjoy!
We just received ours today. The mattress is no where near anything we laid on at the store. Plus... the upper 3rd of the left side pops down on the corner. The bottom 3rd panel has nowhere near the foam padding as the rest of the bed. Sitting on the bottom, at the foot of the bed, feels like you are sitting on a board. I've really upset my partner about this. But we spent over $10,000 on the king-size sleeper sofa / chase lounger combo is quite the investment. It's not about perfection... it's about quality. And the quality is not consistent. Having to add upgrades to the mattress to feel like what we laid upon at the showroom seems odd to me.
No matter the outcome, it is beautiful. We will need the repair done on the mattress frame issue.

Sleeper sofa cushions
I purchased an American Leather cloth fabric queen sleeper sofa year ago. While the sleeper is very comfortable, the cushions are just terrible. The cushions have to be repositioned every time they are used as they creep out over the couch by 4-5 inches when sat on. The velcro used to keep the cushions in place is a poor design. The cushions have also lost their integrity and are quickly becoming very soft and "lumpy". I have to rotate cushions constantly. I paid too much ($4000+) for such poor quality. I would like American Leather to at least replace the cushions since there is not much to be done with the cushion design.

I agree with this reviewer. This is a VERY hard surface to sleep on. I ended up buying an additional memory foam topper from A...n and now have to find a place to store it. The cushions on my Conley sofa slide constantly when sitting on it and the back cushions collapse outlining the cheap cardboard liner. There is also no storage for the cushions when open. To top it off, it is EXTREMELY heavy so where the delivery people put it, it is there to stay. Overpriced and disappointing. I wish I bought a F...S...L sleeper instead.
Which mattress did you buy?
quince sofa
Our new sofa was delivered on Saturday June 26, 2018. The sofa's legs are 11 inch 1/4 tall. When I sit down (I am 5''5 tall) I can't touch the floor with my feet. I called Theodor's, (the store we purchased sofa from), they told us that they spoke with the American Leather factory and they stated that the legs are standard for that sofa. It was hard for me to believe that they do not have any other legs in their factory. I called American Leather directly and was told that they do have two other legs 5 inch 1/16 and 7 inch, and referred me back to Theodor. I shared with the American Leather customer representative that Theodor rep did not share it with me. The customer service lady kept repeating that it is between me and Theodor. She also stated that she will email Theodor (the store).
If you are planning to buy this sofa please make sure that you are taller then 5''7 otherwise your legs will be hanging in the air.
It is very unfortunate that I have to fight to get what I need even thought this sofa cost over $4000.00
comfort sleeper with memory foam mattress cushion issue
Hello,
I'm sure you've received multiple complaints relating to this design flaw issue... my husband and I spent about 5 grand on one of your couches. Sleeping on the pull out bed is fine, but if used as a couch the cushions slide off the front and make it a nuisance to sit on because you feel like you are going to slide right off unless you push them back in every time you sit on it! Due to this defect, this couch is not at all worth what we paid. Has this defect been fixed recently? If so, could we be sent new cushions that don't slide off when sat upon? Seems like a reasonable request for a company of your size and reputation. Another option would be providing some sort of slip cover that would help keep the sliding cushions in check? Would either of these solutions be a possibility? Other?
Thank you,
Kat
finleh electric recliner chair
I purchased this expensive recliner ($3, 500) on 11/15 and since then have had to have repaired twice. The chair reclines as well as swivels. The swivel is a weak portion of the chair and has been repaired. Now the electric recliner is has quite functioning. The company seems willing to do the repairs, although it takes a couple of weeks to get the job done. Thes chair is marginally comfortable.
Queen sofa sleeper
I purchased the American Leather sleeper bed from a retail store that has long been out of business in Los Angeles approximately 6 years ago. As far a a sleeper bed is concerned the construction and comfort of the bed has been top of the line, if you like a VERY firm bed. I have the Tempurpedic type of mattress. My two complaints is from day one the cushion feel like there sliding forward, and now the feathers or whatever the stuffing is feels very scratchy or [censored]ly. As far as calling American Leather is concerned, once I paid my $5000.00 to the retailer I was on my own. I am today purchasing two high end electric recliner chairs. I saw the American Leather Chairs for approximately $3500.00 each. I then went to Fabio Leather in Agoura California and found two gorgeous Italian Leather chairs, that they even called the factory in Italy for me to make sure of a couple of questions about the build in that I am a large man. They could not have been more helpful, and the cost of the chairs was $2300.00 each. The same ten year warranty with German high quality dual motors. Bye Bye American Leather.
sofa bed
his has been our worst experience buying furniture ever, and we've dealt with half a dozen different companies in the past. There was a backorder on the fabric for our new sofa bed after we purchased it, which made it unusable for our guest that was in town. Which was our whole purpose for purchasing it. When the sofa finally did arrive, we took one look at it and told the delivery men it was in an unacceptable condition. The cushions didn't even fit the sofa, they were noticeably thinner than what we saw in the showroom and the edges were wrinkled and sewn unevenly. The fabric was coming apart on two cushions.
After several phone calls to the store, their sales person came to our home to look at it and agree it was unacceptable. We were told all new cushions were ordered. After several weeks the cushions came, but they weren't assembled - we just got the fabric casings. They just sent us new fabric and didn't even address the lumpy, thin, awful cushions themselves. The whole idea that we were expected to put the cushions together seems crazy to me. After spending $6, 000 in the store, we thought we'd get much, much better customer service. Once they get the sale. they just don't seem to care about their customers.
We complained again and were told we now needed to take this up directly with the manufacturer. At this point, we asked to return the sofa and they refused to grant us this. After 3 months, we still don't have an acceptable sofa and the manufacturer isn't even responsive. So we're stuck with this hideous sofa bed.
On top of everything, they're sticking us with a finance charge before we received a bill, and they won't remove them. If you're looking for a pleasant experience, you won't find it at Comfortable Sleep & Home.
subpar materials and construction
3 months ago I bought an American Leather sleeper couch from the Stickley Audi store and I'm VERY UNHAPPY with it. My daughter had bought an American Leather sleeper couch about 5 - 6 years ago and we all love that couch! Her 3 kids jump and play on it daily and the cushions still look like new! They're solid and don't move at all. When we stay over that's the couch we sleep on! So that's the reason why we bought one as well. Now, my couch on the other hand is of subpar construction. We just started sitting on it daily about 4 weeks ago. What a disappointment. The cushions slide off the couch so we have to get up and push them back about every 5 minutes. And they sag like crazy! It's like falling in a deep pit. For a couch that costs over $3000 that is just unacceptable. The only conclusion that I have come to is that, once upon a time, there was a company that made great and durable couches but became greedy. They are cutting corners with materials and construction. Just thinking out loud... maybe the company was sold and whoever bought it just didn't care? I will fight though to either have the couch replaced or get my money back. Luckily Stickley is a decent and honest company and they promised they will work with me. Fingers crossed...
sofa cushions
I am very disappointed in American Leather, just bought a sofa from them and it is uncomfortable, feel frame through cushions, pulls on back, cant sit on it without pain... they refuse to take it back, I called them when sofa was a week old... 9000 dollars later still no answers... i think a class action suit would be great... did anyone get any results that made them happy... Lenoir Empire told me they are not customer friendly...they have called 3 times for me...i was told they were a reputable company.. The best in USA... wish i checked it out myself... can anyone help me?

poor product
We purchased this American Leather sleeper sofa and are very, very sorry that we did. The cushions are a thin slab of foam and they collapse in the front and push you off the sofa. We insert throw pillows under the sofa so we have some support when we sit on it. The back cushions are rigid and cause a stiff neck. When we spent $5, 000 we thought we were going to have a comfortable and supportive soft leather sofa. It is exactly the opposite. Even the mattress feels like you are laying on a concrete floor. There's nothing I can say in favor of this product. We are not getting anywhere we the retailer or the rep. Wish we could all hold them accountable legally for selling such a lousy product and scamming the public of thousands of dollars. They should be put out of business!
SAVE YOUR MONEY AND SAVE YOURSELF AGGRAVATION. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING THAT IS MADE BY AMERICAN LEATHER.

sleeper sofa cushions
Do not purchase anything from American Leather with loose cushions. The cushions on my $4, 000+ American Leather "Owen" queen sleeper sofa have flattened out and will not stay in place causing me daily grief having to reposition the cushions every time I sit on it. the back cushion pops out from holder intended to keep it up and the seat cushions slide forward and hang over the edge. To make it worse, the leather does not completely cover the seat cushions and a 6" strip of fabric across the back of each cushion shows when this happens. Although the sleeper is comfortable and the materials are good quality, the sofa design and functionality are extremely poor and it is uncomfortable and constantly looks sloppy. I purchased it from Jensen-Lewis in NYC in January 2011. My criteria was a low maintenance primary seating piece with occasional guest use of the sleeper. Before it was a year old, I contacted Jensen-Lewis by email and the manufacturer via their website and did not get any response. I stopped into the showroom and no manager was available. A salesman took my information and asked if I would be willing to pay around $700 for new cushions. I asked him to get back with me on a price proposal and never heard back. I am filing a case in small claims court to recover my investment and get a decent sofa.

stay away
I am not satisfied with the American Leather Comfort Sleeper. While it is a superior sleeping experience when opened as a sofa bed, it is very uncomfortable to sit on as a sofa. The foam seat cushions collapse to a very thin layer and tend to slope into the center of the sofa. American Leather furnished new cushions and they are only marginally better. This product is unsuitable and we wish to return it. We have been trying to work with American Leather and the retailer for months. The retailer says they sell many of these sofas (at $5000.00 each I am not sure how accurate that statement is) and they have had no complaints. In fact, the retail sales representative let a comment slip when I spoke to him about our concerns. He said the sofa isn't really meant for daily use. Why did that not come up in our sales discussion? We use this as a sofa a few hours each day. The American Leather sales representative has simply reverted the latest written correspondence to the retailer and denies he is deflecting. Meanwhile, the retailer's policy is to not accept returns under these circumstances. This is not a retailer concern in my opinion but rather a manufacturer concern. Why won't they simply accept the return of the sofa, reimburse the retailer and the retailer can reimburse me? American Leather promotes themselves as being superior in quality. We are not convinced. People need to be aware that this product has its pitfalls.

I just purchased a leather apartment sized sofa and hate the thing. 1st I thought it was leather but I can tell you this is not leather quality meterials. I purchased this at Century House and paid a small fortune for it and the leather is cheap and it looks frumpy in just 2 weeks. My recomendation is to stay away.
This blog was very nicely formatted; it maintained a flow from the first word to the last. Distressed Leather Jacket
We purchased an American Leather Kaden sectional from Tom’s Price and are extremely disappointed! The sectional was expensive and the quality of the materials are sub-par. The foam cushions have not held up. They were supposed to be firm, but instead they have flattened and are not comfortable. In addition the brackets on the bottom of the couch holding the sectional pieces together do not work. The couch is constantly separating. We would never recommend American Leather! Don’t waste your money!
I'm in the same boat - I bought the upholstered version as much for the bed as the sofa usage. The bed is fantastic, the sofa cushions have the same issues as everyone else. They flatten and slide. Since the bed is so important to me, I keep it and keep pushing the cushions back on.
Can you tell me when you bought your sofa? I'm trying to figure out if they've fixed the problem at this point.
Thanks
We purchased an American Leather sleeper sofa at Bloomingdales December 2015. It was not cheap but I thought we were paying for a quality sofa that we would enjoy for many years. Almost immediately we regretted our purchase. The cushions are collapsing and slide forward as others describe in this thread. We have the updated "fixed" version with the Velcro but that hasn't fixed the obvious design flaw of the front bend of these cushions. I hate this sofa. Considering the high cost and the number of complaints, I'm surprised there isnt a class action lawsuit already. I wish we had found these reviews before we purchased.
I am glad to have found these reviews. I was just about to purchase the Noah Queen Sleeper - I like the design and the gel mattress was very comfortable. I don't know anyone who has had this brand, though, so Googled around for some reviews - and here we are. I did wonder about the cushions in the store - the velcro attachment seemed a bit strange, and when I sat on one side of the sofa, the cushion rode up in the middle, which looked a bit messy. I've never had that issue before with a sofa. Given the premium price, nice design and comfortable mattress, I assumed this would be a high quality product. Based on these reviews, I will continue my search.
I have had 2 American leather sofas and the cushions DO NOT stay on the seat. EVER. I have attached velcro and am now considering sewing them onto the back and will just have to forgo the comfort sofa. I can't wait to eventually toss it in the trash.
Thanks to this website, we have put off buying a Comfort Sleeper for several years in hopes that the cushion problem would be corrected. Has it? There are no 2016 reviews here. Does that mean that American Leather has finally resolved this problem?
We do not have the sleeper couch, just a normal roll arm leather couch we bought from Macy's. The cushions flattened out within 18 months. Macy's sent a guy who stuffed them as much as he could with loose dacron but within a year we were back to square one. We even put plastic slats under the cushions for more support. Complaints, letters, emails, etc.to American Leather all went unanswered. I finally hired an upholsterer who took the cushions to his shop and did it right. After nearly two years we are still okay. And we have a place to go if we need it done again. American Leather is overpriced and under engineered junk and the manufacturer could not care less about the people whose money and trust they take.
very slow internet service
Internet is extremely slow and need some attention. New development in the area, cables unable to provide service levels required. Need urgent attention.
Phone lines are not clear and crisp. There is a lot of background hiss and hence very hard to listen correctly.
New development and not good phone lines. Need urgent attention to get this issue resolved. Called many times, nothing being done.

I have a sofa and recliner made by Craft Work ( Now defunct ) 35 years old... leather finally failing, partially due to help from last dog.
It was a wonderful sleep-sofa, no reclining aspect. But just like this complaint, the seat cushions always wanna pop out. I only found that to be a minor irritant.
35 years on in todays' money would be about 6000.00 for the pair is awesome. If Craft Work still were around, I would recover the cushions, but I cannot find anyone to do so with quality leather.
So my search continues.
