Running a scam.
Quit Famers as they raised there prices alot so I signed up with progressive/Americans Modern ins. American Modern Cancelled my ins with farmers. this was to start March 1. April 1st I get a call that I have 30 days to replace my roof. I have had several others look and they said it's in good shape. So now I have to fork out 10k for a roof or have amy Ins cancelled. I'm on SSD and handicapped and need to have this addressed. I will be kicked out of my own home.

They quit my other policy on march 1 which means my old policy ends the 1st. April I get a letter from American Modern saying my policy ends April 30th unless I replace my roof, WTH How does that work. I'm disabled and on SSD and I live alone. So now I can try and find another co. or pay 10k to redo my roof. NOT WHAT I WANTED... THANK YOY AMERICAN MODERN Just a sample of what my roof looks like. Any good lawyers out this? They are taking advantage of older people.
Home insurance
I had home insurance with American Modern. I suffered a theft loss and had to file a claim. The claim was filed in April, 2023, and I promptly provided the adjuster with all the information he requested.
As of July 15, I have had no meaningful update on my claim. The adjuster keeps saying he will have information by "the end of the week." It has now been more than 12 weeks.
I believe the company is taking advantage of me because I am elderly and in bad health.
Desired outcome: I would like to receive the insurance benefits to which I am entitled.
Mobile home insurance
I have a policy with american home insurance I paid my yearly policy and american family home insurance didnt notify my mortage company that I have insurance so today 12/26/22 Ive tried to talk to a representive to get a copy of my up to date policy and sat on hold over an hour with no one answering the phone how can I talk to a human being to help me get a copy of my up to date policy

American Modern Insurance is the worst company that I have ever dealt with
they are scammers and their taking hard working people money and not giving service unto their customers once you make a claim you will never hear from them until they send you a denial letter and they want you to just go away but you know that you have a case, but they think if they ignore you that you will give up, there rude and disgraceful the way they easily take your money but do not want
to pay for anything they do not even want to give you back the money when you cancel your policy with them, they would try to hold on to your money by saying we will send you refund in 4 weeks, and they take out $100 for 7days of staying on the insurance tell me that's not outrageous they also said if you do receive your refund in 4 weeks just follow up with them seriously when no one never ever return your calls. this place to me is committing scams or fraud whatever you chose to call it, please Beware of this company they are a RIP OFF.

My insurance policy for several rental properties that I own
I own over 200 Rental properties and have had American Modern Insurance for a few years. With as many properties that I own, I will have a claim every once in awhile. I always try to repair and take care of my properties without filing a claim if possible. The Couple of times that I did have a claim in the past years an employee named Lori Bodine was the in house adjuster and was very prompt and friendly and courteous. She actually cared that you needed help and understood have devastating a claim can be and emotional. She is an asset to American Modern. I recently had storm damage in an area where I own many rental properties within a close range and a lot of the properties were damaged, shingles torn, siding damaged, windows broken, trees down. The two new inhouse adjusters, Michael Farmer and Michael Norris have been rude and have in Bad Faith delayed my claims, refused to pay my claims and tried to belittle me by their actions in handling these claims. I have spoken with the Texas Department of Insurance about the Bad Faith of American Modern and have researched other complaints on this company, the most disturbing complaint is from a former employee that states that American Modern goes out of their way to deny a claim and forces the insured to fight for their right to be paid. Please do not hesitate to file a complaint if you feel that American Modern is handling your claim in Bad Faith. This needs to be stopped. I am horrified at how I am being treated, I have had to hire a Public Adjuster to help me. They are wonderful and detailed and make American Modern just look like crooks and idiots for stating that my properties had no storm damage.
Hazard insurance policy
I just received notification from my loan servicing company stating that my insurance was canceled. When they took over my loan, I asked them specifically if my insurance and taxes which was part of my mortgage would transfer over. They told me yes, now I'm finding out that I have no insurance which is a requirement. I cannot afford to pay the 2000 in full for my coverage which was why it was set up as part of my loan.
I need a way to FIX this NOW!
Discrimination among the companies management team toward employees & customers
Working at American Modern Insurance Group was a horrendous experience for me. During my tenure there I had several panic attacks and fell into a state of depression from having to work in such a toxic and racially disturbing work environment. Every morning I loathed having to go to a discriminatory and racially segregated company. The managers ran the company like mean high school popular athlete jocks and the pretty cheerleaders, and if you didn't fit in with the popular crowd, or were not out of work friends with the managers, or not the right fair skin complexion, you were treated like the outcast and not promoted or given a managerial or executive position. As of July 2019, NO ONE on the company's executive team staff is a person of color (Asian, Black, Latino, Arab/Middle Eastern) (see attachment picture).
On many occasions I witnessed derogatory and racially insensitive language used. And when anonymous complaints were made about this to Human Resources, managers threatened to retaliate any and all suspected employees. And managers also showed favoritism to employees who would do their retaliation work for them on other employees they suspected anonymously complained to Human Resources about them.
Unfortunately, employees who were not managerial or executives had no support or protection from Human Resources and I was forced to re-sign due to seeing constant unethical business practices, being subjected to and seeing/hearing derogatory racial slurs being used in the workplace. I wouldn't wish this job experience on my worst enemy. I still to this day don't understand why American Modern Insurance Groups executive team supports such bad unprofessional and racially discriminatory behavior from employees and managers of their company. I wanted to work for American Modern Insurance Group because I believed in their mission of being a part of a company providing "A+ residential and recreational insurance to American citizens". Never in my wildest dreams would I think working for the company would be a nightmare and have me going home in a state of depression with panic attacks about having to come into work the next day and having to deal with the segregation and racial discrimination among managers and some employees who were outside of work friends with the managers. I had none of these issues prior to working at American Modern Insurance Group and I pray no one else has to endure what I had to.
In 2019 you would think this company would hire and have more diversity among their managerial staff, but they refuse to which is why there is so much discrimination internally with the company.
This insurance company is worthless and racist. It took them 8 weeks to decide to deny my claim with no real probably reason or cause after unsuccessfully trying to reach them on numerous occasions for a follow up. I wouldn't recommend this insurance company to anyone.
Worst company ever! I pay the yearly premium and water damage is included, yet they deny my claim. It took 4 weeks for them to get back to me after countless attempts to get in touch with the claims specialist. The only time she would contact me is when I threatened to speak to her supervisor. After her receiving my assessment from the adjuster(which took a whole week to get to her) she stated she may get to it in a few days but can't guarantee anything. We live in an electronic age and this should not have taken this long and then end up getting denied because we contacted a supervisor. God forbid they would actually take their time to look into my claim. But nope, it's a holiday week and they have a half day and two days off as well and can't get to anything. It took the supervisor less than two hours to go over everything to deny me because god forbid he actually had to look into it and do his job! I refuse to be treated this way, when I PAID for a whole year and for water damage then to get denied after 4 weeks of inconsistent crap and excuses. Worst company ever!
I am also a former employee at American Modern Insurance Group, and I can vouch and say one of the the most repulsive experiences I witnessed was how claims were handled. If a a claim adjuster found out or suspected the insured making the claim was Black or Latino they would instantly send the claim to their Special Investigations Unit because internally it was stated that Blacks and Latino were a higher risk for reporting false theft claims for insurance money. Not that this matters because we live in the land of the free, but a lot of the management at AMIG were huge Donald Trump and MAGA supporters as well.

Thank you for that review. I left Allstate after 28 years with zero claims for that exact same reason because they gave me a 6 week deadline in October (winter, anyone?). I went with AAA, and they did the exact same thing in February (winter, spring showers, anyone?), and they terminated me. Roofer friends said my roof was fine till summer and we had no leaks (I had granular loss on my composition roof, imagine that.) So now after I've replaced my roof I'm looking for a company that's as loyal to their customers as their customers are to them. I thought this might be the company after my agent gave me a quote, but online reviews have been terrible! And this review tells me all I need to know. Thank you for sharing.
