My issue with American Recovery is in no form for monetary gain, but solely based on how they tend to treat their customers. It is obvious that the staff has no sincere concern for the problems that they create. My car went into the repair shop for damages done to the back passenger side of the vehicle from a previous accident that occurred earlier thi...

- While American Recovery Service has a high level of trust, our investigation has revealed that the company's complaint resolution process is inadequate and ineffective. The americanrecoveryservice.com may offer a niche product or service that is only of interest to a smaller audience.

This company keeps putting a collection on my account that is not valid
This company keeps putting a collection on my account that is not valid. I have tried contacting the company on several occasions regarding the matter. They continue to add it and increase the amounts. I also mentioned the original company, Gerber Collision, who could have validated the collection.

My car got taken because of COVID 19 stuff and when it was time for my car to be let go, I had to go through more stuff with this company to get my car let go. First of all, they took my car on July 1. The order to take my car had to be done before June 30 because my car was in a different town where I live. Even after the bank let go of the car, they still haven't let go of my car up until now, July 6.
I just had to get my car back from American Recovery Service
I just had to get my car back from American Recovery Service. I did what they said and paid my debt by putting cash in their bank account on Friday afternoon. I sent them the email receipt of the deposit too. But they told me that the cash deposit hasn't gone through yet and it might take up to 24 hours for it to go through. It's Monday now and they're still saying the money hasn't gone through.
My car got taken away 'cause I didn't pay, and ARS handled the whole repossession thing
My car got taken away 'cause I didn't pay, and ARS handled the whole repossession thing. They acted as the go-between and got the folks at Amvet Recovery to snatch my SUV. But guess what? They messed up the transfer case when they towed it, and now they're saying it ain't their problem. So I give ARS a ring, and instead of sorting things out, they give me some phony claims department number to call. When I call back, they transfer me to claims, but all I get is a voicemail that sounds like it's for everyone. I'm fuming 'cause my car's busted and I still gotta pay for it every month.
So, I had my car taken away, but luckily I managed to get it back
So, I had my car taken away, but luckily I managed to get it back. I always make sure to pay my car loan on time, so there's no reason for them to keep bothering me. It's really annoying and feels like they're invading my privacy. There's this guy driving a white Toyota who seems to have placed a tracking device in my car. Can you believe he even had the audacity to follow me into a casino? He called someone on the phone and mentioned that there's no report to repossess my car, but he still wants to know where I go. It's just ridiculous! Whenever I leave town and return, he's always waiting for me on the interstate in the middle of the night. I'm definitely going to find someone who can remove that tracking device for me.
I called to get my personal stuff back from a car that I have permission to access, and they were really mean when I had to call again to have
I called to get my personal stuff back from a car that I have permission to access, and they were really mean when I had to call again to have my things sent locally. They said that they already explained to me during the first call that it would take 45 minutes to an hour to send the release to the person with my stuff. But they never mentioned anything like that, and all the guy wanted to say was, "well, it's written in the notes that you were told that, and it's only been like 15 minutes since you called." I understand that the car was repossessed, but there's no need to talk to people like they're liars, stupid, or trash just because of the repo. People have problems and unexpected things happen in their lives. Treat others the way you want to be treated. The finance company that I dealt with was really nice both times I spoke to them. They should learn how to talk to customers or just humans in general!
I finally managed to get in touch with American Recovery Service
I finally managed to get in touch with American Recovery Service. I provided all the necessary documents for my claim, but unfortunately, they never called me back. It took months of waiting and involving Audi Financial to get them to pay attention to my claim. Keep in mind that I had initially made this claim in December and had been ignored by American Recovery Service ever since.
Once I finally got through to them, I explained that there was transmission damage and scratches on the car due to the repossession. I provided proof after proof, and they even contacted the dealership who confirmed that the damage was caused by the tow. The dealership's technician stated this clearly. Now, here's the interesting part: the car had been serviced and passed an inspection with no issues before the tow. However, after the tow, the check engine light came on, and there was evidence from a vehicle scan, photos, and witnesses that the vehicle had been towed improperly. The transmission failed within just 300 miles after the tow.
When I mentioned that the tow company should have a video of the towing process, American Recovery Service said they were looking for it. But to cut a long story short, they quickly denied my claim without even addressing the body damage. And now, they won't respond to me at all. It's truly astonishing how they are trying to avoid taking responsibility for the transmission damage, let alone the body damage. After avoiding me for three months, they basically called me to see how much evidence I had against them, only to say that they can't help me.
This isn't just about covering a claim; it's about how they can protect themselves. It's frustrating to have been ignored for three months, only to have them try to deny the claim without addressing all the issues.
