I contacted Angi concerning the installation of a window in my basement . The contractor was scheduled to complete the job on September 14th within a given time. My debit card was automatically charged the agreed upon price of $552. 36 at the time of booking.
The contractor never turned up. He didn’t even have the courtesy to call or respond to my messages. I called the company the same day after it was apparent the contractor was not going to show up. After a long hold it was confirmed that he was indeed a no show, that the $552.36 would be refunded to my account.
After a week of waiting on the refund, I called my bank and they opened an inquiry. The charges were temporarily refunded by the bank while an inquiry was conducted.
I subsequently received a letter dated October 16th from the bank that the inquiry was completed, and to my shock and horror I was told that Angi had provided proof that the contractor had indeed turned up and the project was completed. As a result that the decision to temporarily refund the charges were reversed.
I have requested the fradulent documents from the bank. I will forward them as soon as I receive rhem.
Desired outcome: I just want my money back, and an apology for wasting my time. Maybe even charges filed for submitting false documents to the bank.
