Ordering an appliance
Caveat Emptor - buyer beware. We ordered a fridge at a good price - never heard a thing (no charge against credit card). After a week we called (many times) and emailed without a response. After about two weeks I finally got Billy (after roughly 10 phone calls and 5 emails) - and he said the Fridge should be here in a few weeks.
Long story short after numerous phone calls and emails we finally cancelled our order (the estimated delivery had gone from a few weeks to more than a few months). We went with another online company that actually answered the phone and our emails. Slightly more monies, but well worth it.
My time and frustration simply is not worth the hassle we had to put up with when dealing with Appliances of America.
Oven
I placed an order on March 31st with Appliances of America for a GE double over for $2399. The sales person on the phone Billy Jackson used a manufacture rebate as a selling point. He stated the oven should arrive in 10-14days. My credit card was immediately charged. In short, a month later I still had not received the oven despite reassurance from Billy that it was being shipped. After 5 weeks, I called my credit card company and filed a complaint. They reversed the charge and said that would investigate. I then received a call from Sean the manager who apologized and reassured me I would get the oven. He said he would refund me $40 for the lost rebate (it had by this time expired). Mid June I finally got the oven. In good faith I released the money. They never sent the $40. In fact, Billy offered me $60 if the refund wasn't provided by a certain time. He then asked me to fax a copy of my credit card statement verifying that I had been recharged for the oven and it was paid to Appliance of Am (which I did). There after I was never able to speak with anyone (went to VM). I never received the $40 (or $60). Below is a copy of the email from Billy.

This company put me through hell (by the time the oven arrived the installer was involved in another project so I had to wait until August). Refunding me the $40 they had promised me after I spent so much money and they had inconvenienced me they way they did would have been a good faith gesture. However, they are dishonorable and liars. I hope this saves others from the horror I went through with them.
Bosch Refrigerator
I placed an online order to Appliances of America on July 27, 2015 (Order # W8256). $3, 494.00 was immediately deducted from my banking account. It is nearly impossible to speak to anyone there. But, we have had a few correspondence with Billy S and Sean. It took them three months to let us know our item had been discontinued. We then canceled our order and was told it would take 2-4 weeks for reimbursement. It’s been nearly 4 months these people have held our money hostage. I’m quite certain this is a fraudulent operation.

LG Refrigerator
I placed an online order for a LG Refrigerator on 9/2015. Took a few weeks for the order to be processed. Received a call from a Billy Jackson stating they were behind on their deliveries. Offered White Glove Delivery and extended warranty. About a week or two after that call they processed the order and charged my credit card. More time went by, I received another call from the same man stating that we live too far out of the way for them to deliver the appliance. They could ship it to an area that was 4+ hours from our home. I stated that would not work out for us. We agreed to have the order cancelled. He called back several minutes later stating he could deliver it to our home for an additional $300.00. I declined that offer. I asked when the funds would be put back on my credit card, he said in 5 business days. That was on 10/2715. As of today, 11/1015 he has not sent the money back to my credit card. Please help.
this place is a scam. Same thing happened for my dishwasher... Offered extended warranty etc..
My story is so far about the same. Waiting for a refund that I am beginning to doubt I will see. You still waiting for Billy?
