Arizona Medical Board dr. pearle browne

I recently moved and had to relocate my medical services. I am an individual with a myriad of health issues that my previous primary care doctor handled just fine. Dr. Parihk was a very good doctor. I called my insurance, which is Mercy Maricopa Integrated Health, to get a new doctor close to me. Dr. Pearle Browne was assigned. Over a month ago, I had my first visit with this office and Dr. Browne. She and her staff informed me that I would have to come in each time I needed a referral or for each medical complaint. She gave me two referrals at the first visit. During that first month, I became very ill. I have kidney disease, thyroid disease, skin cancer, allergies and many other complaints. When I get sick it usually affects other areas of my health and I need to get things checked out. So I went in to her office and tried to inform her of all of my symptoms and she had a fit. She said her office only sees new patients for each condition at a time. She would not even give me a referral. My son went with me to this appointment and saw how she was trying to get me to come in for each separate illness. I had been dry heaving, I had a huge pain in my leg and a spot around it, I had allergies, I have had skin cancer and other cancer. Instead of listening to my whole history, she wanted me to come back for each separate thing, thus charging the insurance company over and over and over for even a referral. My son agreed that she was trying to scam me to get more money and not even concerned that I have been so sick! I went in the next day alone, and she said the only thing I could be seen for was a pelvic exam. I said I needed some referrals and she said she could only do one thing at a time. She would not even do a pap smear at the same time as a vaginal exam, that I would have to come back for another appointment. This woman is scamming the insurance system! She was upset with me and asked me how much I paid out of pocket for service, and I said nothing because I am disabled. She could care less how sick I was and only about how much money she could make by making me come in over and over and over. Then she said that I was complaining about all of the doctors she sent me to and the assistant was being very mean and belligerent too! I only complained about the only person she sent me to, who abused me. I have proof that the doctor at Southwest Kidney was inappropriate to me but she would not listen. The manager at Southwest Kidney spoke with my son and told him the Dr. was treating me wrong because SHE heard him. She gave me another doctor and appointment. But Dr. Browne was trying to make every excuse she could to tell me she was not banning me from her practice but that I had to find a new doctor because I questioned why she was making me come in over and over and over. She said I was not a good fit for her practice and that I needed to find somewhere else to go. There are very few doctors out where I moved and they are full. I was furious. I told her I was calling the insurance company and she told me she was going to as well and I said go ahead. She apparently told them I had mental problems because they were asking me when I reported her to them whether I was on probation or if I had problems with the law and all kinds of crap! This doctor is abusing the health care system! She treated me, who is still very sick, very badly. She told me I was making her other patients wait and they deserved treatment too, like I did not matter at all. She cared nothing about helping get better. So now I am still sick, have no doctor, because I have to call a new one. And I even gave her my whole file after 2 days because she told me she had no file and could not treat me. That was her first excuse. She took 3 weeks to get a referral for skin cancer done and I cannot get in until the end of September and I just got over skin cancer. She made my son and I sit at a medical imaging place for 2 hours after they called her office to ask why she only wrote down leg x-ray and did not explain what for or anything else. She is snobby, arrogant, and is in a rich part of town where she thinks she can talk down to poor people like me who have a mental disability. The insurance company took down my information and told me to file a complaint with you, because they do not regulate the doctors. So I am doing so. She is scamming the insurance system by making people come in over and over, treating her patients like crap and if they do not like her system or question it, she tells them to go somewhere else even when they are really sick, could care less about helping the whole person heal and figuring out what is really wrong, and then calling the insurance company and telling them I am problem due to mental health concerns, I believe. She told me she cannot treat more than one symptom at a time, and cannot even give a referral out. Then the last time I saw her, when I told her what I thought she was doing, she tried to make every excuse to make me look mentally unstable. She told me to stop yelling at her, which I was not. I asked her if she wanted me to yell so she knew that I was not yelling and she said no. Now I have to start all over again to find a new doctor when I am sick. She was not even going to give me the results of the tests I had already done for her. So I questioned that. She said she would call for my results. I told the girl at the front desk what happened and she glared back toward the doctors office and told me not to stress about it, like it has happened before. On her web site, there were complaints from other patients about her playing games and making them come in over and over too. So it is not just me and my son witnessed it and he does not have mental problems! Something needs to be done about this woman abusing her practice to make money while not caring about the sickness of her patients and making them keep coming back. Then she tries to make the patient look mentally wrong. She has no warmth or empathy and should not be working with people or allowed to abuse the insurance system. No wonder it is broken! My other doctor would see me for 3 things at once and give me several referrals at the same visit because he cared that I was sick. She does not care, only about making money. I am sure she has done this to others too! Yet she makes me feel like a piece of crap! And the insurance company just lets these doctors abuse mentally challenged patients and says they cannot do anything about it. Contact you guys and file a complaint! They do nothing because I had a hospital do this to me and I almost sued them, but they apologized and sent flowers and made it right. But she sends me away like a piece of trash not good enough to be in her office. How awful!

Please contact Rochelle Settlemeyer, manager at Southwest Kidney, to verify the situation that occurred there on July 31, 2017 with the doctor I saw on that day to verify that he was being inappropriate to me and my mental health status and not listening to my concerns at all. She will verify that this occurred. Dr. Browne could care less what he said or did to me and said all I did was complain about my health issues. These people are supposed to be trained to work with others, not judge them or put them down for having a mental problem like he did me. Dr. Browne just exacerbated my issues and distress and triggered my mental health issues even further with her treatment of me and her unwillingness to help me get to the bottom of why I am so sick. I am tired of this. It is happened to me over and over throughout my life and my son will verify this too! Both of my sons! Abuse of mentally challenged individuals should never be allowed and they just let the doctors keep doing it and getting away with it and they know they can so they keep doing it. I am sick of it.

Arizona Medical Board Doctor

SUBJ.: Arizona Medical Board Decisions

I find it very difficult to understanding the deliberation process of the Arizona Medical Board in making their decisions in both Cases (Complaints) below. Is there no review of the Arizona Medical Board’s decisions, when there is an injustice and failure to base their decisions in according with the A.R.S 32-1401 and Arizona Medical Practice Act. HOW CAN THE PUBLIC TRUST THE BOARD TO PROTECT THE PUBLIC SAFETY AND NOT THE DOCTOR’S INTEREST, WHEN THERE IS SUFFICIENT EVIDENT OF A CLEAR VIOLATION OF STATE STATURE, THE MEDICAL PRACTICE AND JUST A COMMON RESPECT AND DECENCY FOR HUMAN LIFE.

The cases are posted on the Arizona Medical Board’s website (www.azmd.gov).

Case No. 1 (MD - 07 - 1095A) DECISION: (Doctor) “Accept proposed consent agreement for a LETTER OF REPRIMAND FOR PHOTOGRAPHING AND VIEWING A PATIENT’S PENILE TATTOO.”
Arizona Medical Board - Final Minutes for Regular Session Meeting, Held
August 6 & 7, 2008, p. 8

Case No. 2 (MD 07 - 0798A) DECISION: (Doctor) “Issue an Advisory LETTER FOR INADEQUATE MEDICAL RECORD AND INADEQUATE INFORMED CONSENT FOR PERFORMING A NEW PROCEDURE. THERE IS INSUFFICIENT EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT DISCIPLINE. OBTAIN 15-20 NON-DISCPLINARY CME IN MEDICAL ETHICS WITHIN SIX MONTHS. THE CME IS IN ADDITION TO THE HOURS REQUIRED FOR LICENSE RENEWAL”.

From the Minutes - “Medical Consultant stated that the doctor misled a patient by failing to disclose that he would not be the surgeon of record and that this was his first live human case. The case presenter commented that it was erroneous and deceptive to document himself as the supervising physician of a procedure that he had no experience in performing. The board chair found that the doctor was deceitful in having the other physician take credit for the procedure. The Medical
Consult pointed that the other physician testified that he and the doctor received credit for performing the procedure”. (THE OTHER DOCTOR WAS THE GHOST SURGEON)
Arizona Medical Board - Final Minutes for Regular Session Meeting, Held
October 8 & 9, 2008, pp. 19-20

MY PERSONAL COMMENTS - I agreed to have the Robotic Assisted Procedure based on (1) the doctor told me that I would be his 4th procedure (LATER FOUND OUT THAT THE 3 PRIOR PROCEDURES WERE PERFORMED ON LABORATORY ANIMALS, (2) that he was in the early learning curse of the new procedure - ROBOTIC ASSISTED SURGERY, (3) my doctor was listed on the HOSPITAL SURGIAL REPORT as ASSISTANT SUPERVISING SURGEON AND THE OTHER DOCTOR (GHOST SURGEON) WAS LISTED AS “SURGEON OF RECORD”. I NEVER HAD ANY CONTACT WITH THE GHOST SURGEON PRIOR OR AFTER THE SURGERY, (4) the doctor stated to the board when asked, when did you discuss the procedure with the patient? His response was the morning of the surgery, in the pre-surgical area, prior to surgery. (THIS CONVERSATION NEVER HAPPENED, WHILE I WAS AWAKE!), (5) I WAS USED AS A HUMAN EXPERIEMENTAL SURGICAL SUBJECT FOR BOTH DOCTORS TO THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR CERTIFICATE IN THE ROBOTIC ASSISTED TRAINING IN MID JULY, 2008, I WAS THEIR FIRST PROCEDURE. I WOULD HAVE NEVER CONSENTED TO BE AN EXPERIMENTAL SURGICAL SUBJECT.)

Based on the facts of the case, the violations of the Arizona Medical Practice Act and Arizona Revised Statute 32-1401 how could this be a just decision in my case. So far no STATE, FEDERAL AGENCY OR THE GOVERNOR’S WOULD LOOK INTO MY COMPLAINT. I WILL NEVER SEE THE ARIZONA MEDICAL BOARD’S DECISION AS A VALID DECISION, IN ACCORDING WITH THE MEDICAL PRACTICE ACT OR ARIZONA REVISED STATE STATUTE.

I filed a complaint with the Arizona Medical Board over 8 months ago and just now received a response from their office indicating that they are dismissing an appeal that I filed against a Doctor Matthew Holland; a pain management doctor in Tucson, AZ. In the original complaint I sent to the board, I addressed how this doctor mishandled my medical care...

Arizona Medical Board rude and bad service

The Arizona Medical Board's meeting which takes place every two months includes a "Call To Public" session.

When I initially filed a complaint, I was advised (and encouraged) by their office staff to come and speak at the Call to Public. I was told that any citizen could come and make comments, voice opinions, etc., and they did not state (nor does their website state) that one MUST have a case on the agenda in order to speak.

The Board staff also passes out a handout when you enter the meeting area, which states, "Call to Public is a forum for citizens to speak to the Board and voice their opinions or concerns about cases or other matters within the Board's jurisdiction... each person may speak up to three minutes."

It does NOT state that one must have an open case, or a case on that day's agenda.

Yesterday, April 14, I went to speak at the Call to Public about concerns with their review process, and negligence that I encountered by the Board during a recent case.

Lisa Wynn, director, aggressively approached me and scolded that they were not going to let me speak because my case had previously been adjudicated. She was angry and hostile without even knowing the content of my three minute speech, and was clearly refusing my RIGHT to the Call to Public session.

I was not going to speak about my case, but rather was wishing to express concern about the process as well as the Board's acceptance of unvalidated information supplied by the (deceitful) doctor. Lisa Wynn denied my right to voice my concern -- and was less than pleasant or polite about it.

It was not a busy day at the Board meeting -- there were very few people in attendance compared to normal, and the case load was much lighter than normal. Surely the Board had three minutes to allow me to speak, but they were unprofessional, unkind, and inappropriate.

Many have said the Arizona Medical Board is worthless. At this time, I not only agree, but I also have the opinion they are negligent, corrupt, and very biased towards protecting doctors' careers, instead of protecting the public.

I filed a complaint against a doctor that I work for, this is a doctor that has engaged in bashing me to his clients, gave them a copy of my resignation letter, discussed with his clients how much he pays me. Also his actions have placed me on the receiving end of threats, I have been spit on, called names approached int the parking lot by a client, all witnessed by this doctor, and he has done nothing.
But I mention how many of his clients are on Benzodiazepines, and Opioid medication and the board is all over it. It is ok the clients threaten me and the doctor turns a blind eye, JUST AS LONG AS THERE ISNT ANY BENZOS.

Lisa Wynn is totally useless and incompetent. the Arizona medical board is well known to be corrupt and are especially egregious against doctors. This Board is currently under investigation federally for exactly the same complaints you have against it. The arizona medical board is literally a joke and is actually a true danger to the public.

Arizona Medical Board incompetency and public danger

Lisa Wynn the non medical executive director of the board is dimissing complaints of dangerous Physicians and also making medical decisions without a medical license. In essence she is abusing her power.
Her credibility and history are very shaky, and there is an uproar in the medical community to remove her from the post.

She is extremely unprofessional, unethical and will be removed soon due to public outcry.

This is part of the reason our medical system in Arizona is ranked in the lowest of the country, and why all the good Physicians have left the state.

I am a board certified physician licensed in Arizona. I recently had two lumbar disk's replaced with bone marrow graft's. I recently saw my pain management specialist of over 2 year's, actually his FNP Steve Adler. After waiting for an hour and a half for my scheduled appointment, Adler walked into the exam room and asked how I was doing. I asked if he really wanted to know, and his response was that if I really wanted to tell him I had 14 minute's left in my appointment. I wondered then if he did not care how I was doing, why was I even there. I told him that my pain had kept me from sleeping more than an hour and a half a night, and if he had any idea of how to change my medication so that I could get some sleep at night. He said nothing, got up and walked out of the room. His and Dr.Todd Turley's response was to cut my pain medication by 60 pill's a month, which has left me in a state of withdrawl since. I find this action by Dr. Turley to be unethical, cruel and against the standard of medical care for pain management. I would like to have this complaint taken to the highest level! Arizona Medical Board lisa wynn (executive director)

Lisa Wynn the executive director of the Arizona medical Board is both incompetent and abuses her position.

She is not medically trained, has a poor track record, and was hired only because she is a woman with previous connections to our past lame Governor Napolitano.

Public record reveals that Lisa Wynn has a tarnished and immoral past and many complaints have been subjected against her personally for incompetence and abuse.

She tries to hide behind the premise of the Arizona Medical Board, but will be surprised very soon when they will not protect her anymore.

She soon will be removed from her position based on both incompetency and corruption, and will also will have to answer to some serious civil suits.

We need to rid ourselves of both Ms. Wynn and others like her in various state positions

Dear Arizona Medical

With due respect and humility, I write to you irrespective of the fact that you don't know me. I got your contact through the international directory on internet when I was making inquiry for foreign assistance. I have decided to contact and bestow trust in you, which I pray you will not ignore. I apologize in advance for any inconveniences that this proposal may cause to you. Handle this discretely and contact me urgently if you can assist me in this transaction

I am Mrs Angelika Thomas, of Repulic of Benin, widow to Late Mr. David Arizona. for Consular of the benin embassy in Madrid, Spain.I have been recently been daigonosed of Cancer of the Pelvics. I am writing from my sick bed.

There is this consignment (containg US$9.5Million cash, in US$100 bills) my husband deposited with a security company, here in Cotonou, Republic of Benin of which I am the next of kin. With my health condition and because my husband and I have no children, I am looking for a credible person to whom I will pass the right of next of kin. This person will apply to the company and request, from them, the procedure towards retrieving the consignment from them.

This is on the condition that you will take 25% of the fund for yourself, 5% used for expenses, while you will use the remaining 70% for the less previlege people in the society. This is in fulfilment of the last request of my husband: that a substantial part of the fund be used to carter for the less previleged.

If this condition is acceptable to you, you should contact me immediately with your full names and contact information so that I will send you all the documents that the company gave to my husband when the consignment was deposited. So that you will contact the company directly, and demand from them the procedure towards retrieving the consignment from their company.

I cannot predict what will be my fate by the time you wll recieve the fund, but you should please ensure that the fund is used as i have described above. I look forward to your response.

Kindly Contact me via;angelikathomas54@yahoo.com

Mrs Angelika Thomas

It has been said that the Arizona Medical Board has a duty to protect the public; I believe it has gone beyond this to the point where it exists to only to ensure its own political survival. As far as the policing on physicians in the state of Arizona, what the Board does more closely resembles a kangaroo court than having anything to do with due process. I will be the first one to admit that physicians make mistakes and there should be a process to evaluate whether actual or intentional harm was done to a patient. The physician in question should still receive the same rights during the investigation that any other citizen in this country would receive. I emphatically state that physicians do not receive due process and there are claims that the Board has knowingly interfered with the investigative process to make certain that they find the physician in question guilty of something. The U.S. Attorney General needs to look into what is going on at the Arizona Medical Board.

I, too, have encountered what I believe to be corruption on the Arizona Medical Board. Lisa Wynn does indeed abuse her power, and turns the other way when someone is attempting to provide truthful evidence that she doesn't want to acknowledge. Yesterday when I went to the call to Public at the Medical Board Meeting to speak, she greeted me with undue hostility and anger, without kindly asking the content of my message or asking why I wanted to speak. She denied my right to speak and was beyond rude about it.

Arizona Medical Board negligence

On February 10, 2010, the Arizona Medical Board (AMB) heard two cases against a particular doctor. AMB, per procedure, secured an outside medical consultant (OMC) to review the case and give recommendation.

The OMC determined that the doctor deviated from the standard of care. The doctor defending himself claimed the OMC was biased because it was a local physician. So, the AMB took the time to get a second OMC to review the material.

The second OMC, just like the first, indicated the doctor deviated from the standard of care, and recommended a letter of reprimand (discpline) for the doctor.

OMC (expert witness) after reviewing the information of two patients, provided commentary such as, the doctor (regarding liposuction) "grossly re-sected fat" and suctioned "in areas known to cause deformities."

There was more, and minutes from the meeting are available at www.azmd.gov.

In addition to the doctor deforming and over-suctioning two patients, one patient also had difficulty in retrieving her medical records from the doctor; the doctor withheld her records from not only the patient but from a subsequent treating physician. She had to use the assistance of an attorney two times, and it was not until four months later that she was able to get her records. While this is not acceptable behavior, a particular board member decided not to take action against the doctor for that because the patient "ultimately" (eventually) got her records.

The doctor solicited letters from his own colleagues which (not surprisingly) were in his favor (surely the doctor would not submit negative reviews on his own behalf), indicating the Board's OMC's were just overly critical plastic surgeons.

(On that note, I feel if one spends $15k, $25k, $35k, with a cosmetic or plastic surgeon, they have the right to not come out looking deformed. There is a problem with a medical board who doesn't support this thought process.)

The Medical Board ignored TWO unbiased outside medical consultants' opinions and recommendations, and these two patients were left deformed, one of them also with serious medical conditions, after this "doctor" performed cosmetic surgery.

In addition, when the Board questioned this doctor, they had to repeat and rephrase ONE question 10 (ten) times before the doctor gave a satisfactory answer. It was like they fed the doctor the answer. I recorded the entire proceeding which was open to the public, and have the audio to back my statements.

To top it off, approximately ten complaints (from different patients) had been filed against this doctor. Because the patients, through internet research, found each other, the doctor cried "conspiracy". The medical board sided with the doctor instead of protecting the public.

I had heard before that the Arizona Medical Board is worthless and the "doctors stick together." The Board is comprised mostly of doctors. However, I had faith in humanity, and faith in this Board.

Regarding filing a case with the Arizona Medical Board, many people had told me, "don't waste your time."

I've discovered, unfortunately, these people were right.

It would be Governor Jan Brewer's job to look into this matter, but Jan Brewer (and/or her office) has opted to ignore public safety as well, and has declined to even talk to the patient(s).
