total scam
total scam. They are impossible to cancel once you start.
Review:
This company is a total scam. It's like they don't even care about customer service. Once you sign up with them, it's impossible to cancel. They make it so difficult and frustrating. I tried reaching out to their support team multiple times, but they never responded. It's really disappointing because I thought they would be more reliable. Don't waste your time and money with ViaCord, LLC.
After finishing my 10-year contract, they charged my credit card like always
After finishing my 10-year contract, they charged my credit card like always. I stopped the payments, wrote and called them. They kept trying to charge my credit card, and months later, they sold my info to another company to bill me and scare me. No thank you note after 10 years of payments. They're scammers for sure.
You gotta be real cautious, ya know?
You gotta be real cautious, ya know? Like, I've been payin' for this service for over ten years, thinkin' it would be helpful, but boy was I wrong. They start sendin' ya all these scary letters, tryin' to scare ya into payin' more money. And if that ain't enough, they even send ya off to some collections agency. It's like they're tryin' to squeeze every penny outta ya. I mean, seriously, watch out. Our *** recommended 'em before, but now they're tellin' their patients to steer clear.
I've been tryin' to cancel my account for 3 YEARS, but they don't seem to log the form I send 'em
I've been tryin' to cancel my account for 3 YEARS, but they don't seem to log the form I send 'em. They somehow get and deposit my check, but they say they don't get the official cancellation form that I put in the same envelope. It's a total scam, ya know? I ain't got no reason to think they actually store the cord blood like they say they do. They're ***. Don't bank here, folks.
This company charges you however they want, whenever they want
This company charges you however they want, whenever they want. My wife and I had our baby girl earlier than expected, so we didn't have time to research cord blood and cord tissue storage options beforehand. When we arrived at the hospital, they gave us information about ViaCord. While my wife was in labor, we signed up for ViaCord and agreed to pay the upfront costs and first year of storage over the phone with our Credit Card. Three months later, they charged my credit card an additional $75. I didn't receive any notification from ViaCord (no ***, no receipt, no explanation). I only found out about the charge when I looked at my bank statement. I called ViaCord to ask about the charge, but no one could explain it to me. I called back every day for two weeks and still couldn't get an explanation. I had to dispute the charge, and the bank resolved it in my favor because ViaCord couldn't explain the charge. Now, their finance department calls me every day saying I owe them $75. It's been four months, and I still can't get an explanation. When I talked to the finance department, they told me, "we don't provide copies of invoices." Basically, they can charge you whatever they want or change the price later. Make sure you get everything in writing from them. Don't trust the sales reps on the phone. The unfortunate part is that they now have my daughter's stem cells, and it feels like they're holding us hostage. They're happy to make us pay whatever they think is appropriate. I have to say, this is extremely inappropriate business practices.

I canceld my account over 6 years ago and did all the steps like customer service told me
I canceld my account over 6 years ago and did all the steps like customer service told me. Today, I got contacted (first time since 2014) and they said I didn't finish all the cancellation paperwork, so now I gotta pay for 6 years of storage. I read some reviews and it looks like Viacord does this a lot.
I've been a client of ViaCord since 2009, storing cord blood for my kid
I've been a client of ViaCord since 2009, storing cord blood for my kid. In 2017, I reached out to ViaCord and let them know I didn't want to keep the cord blood anymore. I called a few times and made sure the auto renewal was canceled. But for some reason, the company kept trying to bother me and even gave my info to a collection agent, which feels like harassment.
Viacord didn't have permission to charge my credit card
Viacord didn't have permission to charge my credit card. I tried to reach out to them many times, but they didn't respond until I involved my credit card company. Surprisingly, their website didn't have my credit card information, yet I still got charged. They blamed it on their computer systems, which is a bummer. It's been 12 days since the charge, and I've been trying to contact them even before that. I really want a refund, but they claim they can't do it, even though there are other complaints about this on ComplaintsBoard.com.

I've been a client of viacord since 2008, storin cord blood for our two children
I've been a client of viacord since 2008, storin cord blood for our two children. Last year I contacted viacord and told them that we no longer wanted to store the second cord blood lot. I formally called a couple of times. For some reason the company continued to try to bill us and has now given my information to a collection agent, which is borderline harassment. I have since even put in writing that we no longer want to store the second cord blood lot. Given that we remain clients of viacord, continuing to store the cord blood from 2008, I am surprised that they would treat us this way. This causes me to wonder about the integrity of the company. I see that others have experienced similar scenarios.
Viacord ain't tellin' folks that they can't do Whole Genome Sequencing for ***
Viacord ain't tellin' folks that they can't do Whole Genome Sequencing for ***. The state ain't acceptin' any submissions from 'em since June. My baby was born on May 29 and I still ain't got the results. They keep sayin' the state keeps sayin' no to processin' these tests and they keep fightin' it. The folks at Viacord been ignorin' my calls and emails for almost 13 days now. Viacord should let their clients know or stop takin' blood from newborns 'til they fix this. Oh, and by the way, they still takin' my money for this service.
