I inquired about a vehicle on your website. This morning, 2/20/2024 at 9:18am, I was called back by Alan Jordan, who left me a 12 minute voicemail because he didn't hang up. He was talking [censored] about peoples credit, needing a co-signer, complaining about making phone calls, complaining about customers calling him back, complaining about the text message I sent him and complaining about not getting leads, and how they were going to other sales people that didn't deserve them. I am an Internet Manager at a dealership, and I am completely floored at the attitude this guy has towards the customers that make his paychecks.
I do not need a call back, just want you to know you have a bad seed in your department and he is losing your company business.
Desired outcome: I would like a manager to speak to Alan about the way he talks about customers. Also, teach him how to hang up the phone.

Bait and switch
I was looking to purchase my Daughter a used vehicle. We went to the Arlington lot and found a pretty decent deal so we thought. It was a 2017 Jeep Cherokee with a price of 15,881 on the windshield. So we test drove the Jeep and she liked it. So we asked for a purchase order to take to the bank. At first they were very persistent that we do financing through them and we told them NO. Mainly because car lots will run your credit down try to find a company to take the loan. (I learned this when I purchased my truck from Arlington Toyota and realized they allowed my credit to be ran multiple times and actually lowered my score because my credit had been hit so many times.) So the sales man and the Manager came to the table with the purchase order for the Jeep with a price of almost 21,000 dollars and said we had to pay for the Arlington Toyota Value Package. So basically they added a charge that we didn’t ask for, nor did we want it. Then proceeded to tell us that we have to pay it or we couldn’t buy the vehicle. So they put a price on the window to get your attention and then raise the price when they think you are gonna buy the vehicle…AKA : BAIT AND SWITCH. I’m thankful that I was there to show my 18 yr old daughter what they did. I can only imagine the people that have been hustled by them and not knowing any better same on you ARLINGTON TOYOTA for crooked business practices. ARLINGTON TOYOTA has lost my family as customers for life they have turned a good relationship into a bad one permanently.
I will be posting this on every social media outlet that I can in hopes that they don’t get anyone else with this shady deal.
Desired outcome: CANNOT BE REPAIRED!
Service after sale, non-existent
Just bought a new Prius and it had dealer installed, after market tint applied to all side windows. I told salesman I would TRY driving the car for a few days to see if the tint obstructed vision, making driving at night or when wearing polarized sunglasses dangerous, before having them remove the tint that had been applied just two days before I purchased the car. After finding that the tint does, in fact, react by "rainbowing" light in daylight when polarized sunglasses are worn, and virtually makes other vehicles and objects disappear at night, I attempted to call, sent two text messages, and one email the salesman, advising I wanted the tint removed on the front driver and passenger side windows. I don't even get the courtesy of a response. Its been a week now, and its apparent these crude and rude salespeople have no intention of following up on action agreed to prior to the sale. Bad business, bad business model.

Will never do business with Arlington Toyota again
I had a problem with a Toyota – A pleasant girl on thee phone told me is would be approx. 250.00 parts and labor. Which I agreed to. Long story short, I guess the repair was made.
A man called later and told me he total bill was approx. 450.00. I told him I was given the price of $250, 00 by a lady agent. He had the nerve to tell me it was $450.00. I said I would wait till the next day and talk with the woman who gave me the original price. He hesitated and then said 350.00. I said no I will wait, He came down on price once again. I said i would still wait. With aggression in his voice he said FINE and hung up. I quickly picked up the car with the 4250 price.
I don’t know what went on there, but it sure sounded like scam to me. Will never do business with Arlington Toyota again.
I just drove past Arlington Toyota this afternoon and was shocked to see the electronic message board. All of the writing was arabic! Why? That message could have said just about anything and unless you were of middle eastern descent, you would not have a clue what it said. That is a scary thought.
I completely understand your experience with Arlington Toyota - Palatine, IL. Mine is not better than yours. My car was bought brand new from them and when the car was less than an year old (about a month ago) was damaged beyond recognition by them while at service under the warranty. And although I have the report on other unrelated damages from the day I dropped off the car with them, the physical dust from buffing the car without my permission is still on the doors of the car because the "smart "guys forgot to clean it, they deny it! A place lacking any ethics! But sooner or later they will fall in their own trap! If people who plan to buy a new car or plan to have their car serviced by them do not believe what we say, do not read the true complaints, will find themselves onboard of our boat. If people are so cheap to be lured in by the free coffee and the free car wash, then good luck to them in thier ordeal!
Pre-owned poor follow up service
Mr. Rohrman,
My family has been buying Toyota's for over 25 years. My daughter recently totaled one of our cars and we had to replace it which we did at your new Arlington Heights Toyota dealer. We thought we received a good deal till only after we bought the used Honda. Within days of the purchase we were able to scrape some fake spray on cloth material from the passenger side front seat to uncover stains. That I was little concern to me, now four weeks later our muffler fell off in a parking lot and we have tried for a week to contact someone in regards to our new certified pre-owned Honda to see how this could have happened and we are being avoided every-time we try. I still love Toyota's, just not your dealership or purchase and follow up process. If this is certified service then I guess that only means some of the time.
Sincerely
The whole Spies Family

In reference to my previous post I just need to make sure that we are talking about Arlington Toyota in Palatine, IL.
It is the case not only with their certified vehicles, but vehicles bought brand new from them. I bought Toyota Corolla from them brand new and the collision center of the dealership purposefully damaged my car while at service with them under the warranty. It happened just a month ago when the car was less than an year old. These guys (in particular Jeff Tybon, the manager) are just experts in damaging your property and not admitting their fault. Shame and lack of any ethics! I may be a single woman and an immigrant to this country but I won't allow them to take an advantage of me! Sooner or later they will fall in their own trap!
Sales Practices/Refund Issues
I bought a vehicle from Arlington Toyota in Jacksonville, FL with 1300.00 down. Three weeks after I have the truck the dealership calls me and tells me the bank sent the contract back because they could not verify home phone service. I told them I have a cell phone I use for both home and work. They tell me I need to get a home phone, to call AT&T to get one. I said no.. I have a phone. They assured me it would be handled and they resubmitted the contract to the bank. Same thing happened again with the bank wanting me to have a home phone. In the end the dealership took the truck back and kept my 1300.00 down payment saying they were charging me for mileage and to detail the truck so they could sell it once again. Nice way to steal from a single dad trying to take care of his kids! Now I have no transporation and out my money!

Please disregard the complaints about Arlington Toyota in Florida -- they do not apply to Arlington Toyota in Palatine IL. We are NOT related in any way to Arlington Toyota in Florida. Gary Vicari, President. Arlington Toyota, Palatine IL
Zlatina,
let me know if you require witness support in court, I would go the extra mile to give them what they deserv, which is a serious charge in the court of law.
As of 12/14/12 they prove to be the most skillful experts in the whole industry in damaging your new car beyond recognition! Obviously Arlington Toyota in Palatine, IL and Arlington Toyota in Jacksonville, FL are the same people, although they deny it. Yes, as you google it, it shows that they are the same group! They are governed by the same unethical standards! To: wess1981, Sir, I hope you filed a complained with the general attorney's office because now is my turn! Those unscrupulous guys in Palatine damaged my new Toyota Corolla (less than an year old) beyond recognition while at service with them under the warranty! And I am a single woman and an immigrant to this country! They thought that they would be able to take an advantage of this because I have no protection by anybody! But they cannot imagine how strong I am since I have survived so far and even could afford buy from them a brand new car! If I do not find help through the state attorney's office, I definetely will take them to court! I have all the paperwork, the photos, even the physical dust from buffing the car without my permission is still inside the doors because the "smart "guys just forgot to clean it! And I will not clean it, it just perfectly stays inside the doors as a proof! I will request a jury! I will get the media involved! And I will see how they will look at me in my eyes in front of the judge and the jury! If the people who read all these posts do not believe what we say, they will find themselves in our boat! I did not believe Arlington Toyota completely lacks ethics until I saw it! And now instead of enjoying my vacation, I have to spend it in court houses!
As of 7/24/11, they still have unscrupulous practices. They were advertising a used car that stated it passed a 160 check list and all fluids/filters had been changed. That only cars that pass this rigorous test list are sold on their lot. There was no way this car had had any work performed on it. I checked a couple different fluids only to find very murky and completely discolored fluids.
When I asked the sales person about this, hum, ah, umm, I don't know, umm, blah, blah, blah.
They were quick to send me a reply when I inquired about the car, but after visiting the store, and coming back home to reply to their email, letting them know I was not happy, they completely ignored this new email.
I will never visit this store again and I will let others know of the issues.
You should see how he treats his employees..
It seems like mr. Vicari is the president for both yet both locations are having ethical business practice issues. Thats just yet to show the leadership the president has. I guess if this gets to Toyota they will disqualify mr. Vicari from carrying their name for the ethical problems that his dealers are suffering from yet he can't seem to control them.
For all who read the complaint, please not e that the complaint is against Arlington Toyota in JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA, and NOT the Arlington Toyota in Palatine ILLINOIS.
Gary Vicari, President, Arlington Toyota, Palatine, IL.
Toyota Arlington Ethics and Business pratices are very doubtable. I bought a car from them and i was totally deceived with the auality of the car. they assured me that the car was in great condition but after driving it for 2900 miles I needed an engine. they sold me the car as is, even tho their online positng said it came with a waranty, and alot more, but I am just letting you know that the business as a whole is terrible. I think it is operated by the same person since the dealership I am talking about is Arlington Toyota in Illinois, but both seem to have the same president Mr. Gary Vicari. I guess he is a great representation of Ethics.. :)
Sorry dude but hey alot of these dishonest people and business are out there so be careful. I learned my leason and now i filed a complaint against them to the general attorney's office and if it doesnt work I will hire a lawyer. I will not let them get away with it even if i lose everything I have. Unethical ###
Bad and dishonest customer service
Bad and dishonest customer service practice at Arlington Toyota, IL
The service person added service without noticing me and tried to over-bill me(a regular customer there. Not any more)
At first, he told recommended 1) braker replace ment 2) 3-tire replacement and 3) alignment. And he told me my car maintainance are good (I do regular maintaince there many times). I only chosed 1). And he give me 10% discount(I usually have it since of a regular customer).
When it was done, here is "oil exchange (around $20)" and "tire rotation(around $45)". I told him I am not happy with that. And he mentioned that my car maintainance are good explicitly. And I can have that at regular maintainance anyhow. Then he showed me the paper I signed. Well I indeed signed it, BUT without his noticing me.
After dispute, he took "oil exchange" off and then remove the discount. The bill went up from $310 to $317 (around instead). I felt doulbe-cheated.
A service person added service (I do not need) with out notice. And now he removed one portion of bill and the bill goes up. I fully disappointed with this. This is typically over-charge and cheat on customer(and an regular customer). This is double cheat.
I got really angery and asked the key(their said need to pay the bill first. Otherwise no key). I said I will call taxi and go home. After minutes of dispute, they left the 10% discount there. I pay the bill(with tire rotation about $45) and went home.
The service person's name is Peter.I fully do not recommend any service at Arlington Toyota. They are not honest persons.

Rip off
We brought our car in for an oil change. They told us we had to get the 30k inspection in order to keep our Tires for Life contract going; so I did for $300 later. I ask for them to check my A/C unit in the car because the A/C had gradually lost air. They quoted me $700 to fix the A/C because the compressor clutch coil was bad. I declined due to finances. My husband decided to fix it himself to save money and bought the part for $350. When he went to change the part he noticed there was wiring ripped out. The compressor coil was not bad at all. He saitered the wiring back together and the A/C now works. Meanwgile my tires are bad. I had 3 companies look at them. When we went back to Arlington Toyota the upper management would not look to see that the original compressor clutch was still in the car (proving misdiagnois of the problem) and they would not give us our tires under our contract because they said the tires were over inflated (untrue). I have 5 receipts from Arlington Toyota showing major tire problems which includes vibration to the car at hight speeds. Arlington Toyota would not refund the $49 for the misdiagnosis of the A/C either. I have spent hundreds of dollars at this dealership keeping up my tires for life contract. They will not acknowledge the A/C being sabotaged either. Consumers need to be aware of this. Maybe if the dealerships how crooked they are on TV, some honestly will come out of this. I have pictures and receipts of everything. This speaks for itself.
