I was having trouble with my furnace not heating the house
I was having trouble with my furnace not heating the house. I had two different companies come out before I called Atlas Butler. When the technician from Atlas Butler came, he was on time, had a clean uniform on, and was very polite. I explained what was happening with the temperature in the house and after asking me a few questions he looked at my thermostat and then went to the basement to look at my furnace. He found an issue with my humidifier confusing the control board causing the furnace not to operate correctly. I?ve had reliable heat for over a week, which I hadn?t had since the furnace was installed. Next time I?ll call Atlas Butler first.
Would like to give some big kudos to *** who came to install my new toilet today
Would like to give some big kudos to *** who came to install my new toilet today. He followed on the heels of the *** heating/cooling tech who was here for my seasonal heating/cooling update. The tech ended up making many adjustments to my system and cutting off the power to the heating system knocked out my computer. I heard a strange squealing just as he left and could not manage to repair the problem even with the tech help of Spectrum. *** took time during a very busy day for him to get my computer system going again. He did a great job and continued with the plumbing job he was scheduled to do for me. He gets a gold star for the day and I'd like his kindness and great abilities noted in his work records, please.
Very pleased with *** and the installation. Very prompt and timely!
They were professional, knowledgeable, fast and clean. I highly recommend them.
Great job ! Got new AC installed quick. *** staff were professional and efficient.
Fast service, AC went out Friday afternoon, tech came Saturday and it couldn't be fixed, salesman came out Saturday, new furnace and installed on Monday by two 2 PM
I have used Atlas Butler for plumbing problems before and couldn't be happier with their support -so this time around I didn't hesitate to call
I have used Atlas Butler for plumbing problems before and couldn't be happier with their support -so this time around I didn't hesitate to call them up to see if it was possible to reroute some duct work and a water line - unfortunately, it wasn't really an option our current furnace. Unlike some of the other negative reviews on here, there was no pressure to sell me anything; Our technician, Joe, simply let me know what was possible and how much it would cost. He took time out of his schedule to stick around and let us bounce some other ideas off him, happy to help in any way he could. The service I've received with Atlas Butler is always incredible - rather than complain about pricing or quotes I will say.. you definitely get what you pay for and their quality of their work speaks for itself; that piece of mind I get from knowing Atlas Butler installed or serviced something is always worth it.
was outstanding! He was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient! I will definitely recommend Atlas Butler to my friends and family!
I had our original AC/furnace installed 24 yrs ago. It was on its last leg. AC went out this spring on a hot day. Called Atlas-Butler. A technician was out within 2 hrs. Diagnosed the problem and set me up with sales the next morning. Ours was the old R22 (freon) type that is no longer supported. The technician explained in detail the choices. Did not feel up-sold, just a panoply of choices that made sense. Decided on all new AC/furnace unit. Installation the next day with Gabe and JT. They were thorough and efficient. I am a very satisfied customer.
our service technician was punctual and very knowledgeable in addition to be thoughtful.
Hunter is a real asset to atlas butler. His expertise allowed him to diagnose the problem in less than 3 minutes!
We had Atlas Butler come out to do a system check 2 years ago
We had Atlas Butler come out to do a system check 2 years ago. At that time, they talked us into the service plan, which we immediately cancelled. One year later, they called us about a past due bill for the recurring service plan. I stated that the service plan had been cancelled, but they refused to refund the amount. I agreed that since we had to pay for the service plan, we would go ahead and get the annual service (as entitled to with the service plan), but stated - again - that we wanted the service plan cancelled. Fast forward another year, today, andI just received another call stating that we had a balance for the recurring service plan. This is now THIRD time we have had to cancel this service plan. I called and spoke with a rep on 10/7 (Makayla or Makenzie, maybe?), and requested proof of cancellation be emailed to me, but she stated that is not something they provide. So after three requests to cancel, they won't even provide a paper trail to prove the cancellation was submitted. So I'll probably receive another call a year from now, telling me I owe them for a service plan. Very poor business practices!

They came out for scheduled furnace service check mid February per my service policy. I wish they would have selected a visit more appropriately timed in better weather/temperature. They shut off my gas and told me I needed a new furnace w/*** with the gas company or myself. I immediately called out another heating and cooling professional business and I turned the gas on. It is too cold to be doing something like that. I have heat and everything is working just fine. I called and cancelled my policy with them.
I called to have my 84y old mothers air conditioner checked. When speaking with *** one problem seem to lead to another. The coolent too expensive, model too old need new one. I communicated that we really did not want a new unit how much would it cost to fix. Spencers replies over $3,000. I told him then not to fix we look at something at a later time. He then stated that we have another problem there is a hole in the furnace pipe and that they are shutting off my moms furnace. My mother is an elderly women and it is winter. I ask if this could be covered or taped he stated. I the entire pipe must be replaced. At the sum of over $600.00 for service that was not asked to be looked at. He made me and my mother feel like there was no other choice but to fix so she would have heat. Because they turned off her furnace! I learned later they told my 84year old elderly mother that she could have died! Multiple times. I was working out of town as a nurse in a hospital and could not be there. They were supposed to send pictures of the hole but have. It sent them. Also they claimed that the hot water tank piping needed changed too. Not only were we not getting the air conditioning repaired for which they were called, we are now fixing items on the furnace and water heater not a service which was not requested . This because they turned off my mothers furnace she would not have heat if we did not repair and they would turn on the furnace. I am concerned and question there business practices we have limited funds and feel very much taken advantage of and the fact that they kept telling my mom she could die was very upsetting for us both. I did not tell my mother how much they were charging us knowing she would be upset. There website stated the $89.00 service fee would be waived if services were rendered however we were charged this fee in addition to the furnace repairs. I cannot help but feel taken advantage of and did not want my mother to be without heat in the winter
I wanted to have my furnace serviced and thought I would try Atlas Butler. The service person came out to service my furnace and within about 20 minutes told me my heat exchanger had a crack in it and it would actually be better if I just replaced my whole furnace. I had a 2nd opinion with a reputable company and he said my heat exchanger was NOT cracked and my unit was in perfectly working condition. What a total scam.
They were awesome. Arrived when they said they would. Cleaned up after they were finished. they were very courteous.
I had a maintenance service contract with Atlas Butler for my residence and the rental property next door
I had a maintenance service contract with Atlas Butler for my residence and the rental property next door. On 11/12 a technician arrived to perform a system check on the furnace, which was 7 years old. After checking the furnace I was informed he had shut the furnace off and "red tag" the furnace due to leaks of CO2. The technician provided me with a "Notification of Unsafe Gas Appliance" form stating "found failure in primary heat exchanger, pictures on file". The technician provided an invoice for $2235.40 to repair my furnace. He contacted the furnace manufacturer and verified the furnace was under warranty. When I contacted the Atlas Butler office and questioned why the charge was so much if furnace was covered under the warranty - I was told the heat exchanger was covered and the price quoted was for labor. The technician also recommended I speak to someone at Atlas Butler regarding a new furnace. I decided to get a second opinion and was told there was nothing wrong with the heat exchanger. Small repair was done total cost of $6.10. Looking through previous complaints regarding this company I see I am not the only one to receive this news about the heat exchanger. I have cancelled my contact with Atlas Butler.

WARNING!
WARNING! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY REASON. They deliberately lied to my wife, and then scammed us with a credit card on file to bill us nearly $2000 in charges for only a few hours of work. The part that failed on our unit was supposedly "under warranty." Meanwhile, as it turns out, were charged for the part, and an INSANE amount for labor. Unfortunately, they had my wife's signature and a credit card, so we are stuck with the fees. I've called multiple times, and was deflected by clearly-trained, arrogant C/S folks telling me its just the way they price jobs, and we can basically go pound sand. I have documentation. They supposedly recorded all phone calls, so if anyone needs them, I'm sure we can subpoena the recordings. It's no wonder they only have a 2.5 out of 5 rating with the ComplaintsBoard.com! I wish I'd have looked before letting them into my home! Full story- our home was built 4 years ago, so only 4 y/o air units. They were hired to do the inspection and maintenance...coincidentally, the coil (after working fine for 4 years) developed a leak and had to be replaced. The technician told my wife the parts were covered under manufacturers warranty, and we'd only pay labor. She signed his form to do the work...and here we are. They claim to have been operating this exact same way for "100 years..." In business for 100 years, yes, but operating like this? Hard to believe folks.

Buyers Beware***Atlas Butler came out promptly 11/28 since I had no heat
Buyers Beware***Atlas Butler came out promptly 11/28 since I had no heat. After some time and the possibility of a bad connector he called me down to the basement and showed me that his meter registered my *** at 3,000ppm( deadly within 30 minutes) vs 400 ppm allowed max *** We also had a NEW horrific smell in our basement. First, *** is odorless and second, being downstairs 5 times in 2 days with no smell and now a horrific smell made me pause on his evaluation...After 20 min in this "toxic" environment with himself, my boyfriend and me, the smell was gone(hmmm). When I asked to retest it with his meter he told me the level broke his meter. ? We purchased two *** meters and both register at 0.He kindly sent out an installer (***) the next morning who suggested I replace both my air conditioning since it was original( It is a 2016 unit vs 1993).1) I requested a quote for just HVAC .Had the service person not been at least kind I would require a full refund. The $89.00 service is actually overpriced by $89.00 since it was a misdiagnosed issue including trying to ensue homeowner panic that we might die at our own risk. They had a waiver on hand for dangerous gas and homeowner risk.Preying on people and causing panic is not good business practice. My heart breaks for those who do not have the ability to reach out to other connections. ALWAYS GET A SEND OPINION>>>I would not recommend Atlas Butler because I am not confident they had my best interest with their service call.

One morning we noticed that the exhaust blower on our furnace was making a different noise than it was doing, so we called Atlas Butler to come and check on it. The tech arrived the next day, and when he got to the furnace he said that's what was wrong, and once he got the cover off sure enough it was the exhaust blower. After checking his phone he said it was almost $1400 for a new blower and another $300+ for a switch and grand total nearly $1900, and they wouldn't have it till Monday. He said that our furnace was a low end model and wouldn't spend that much money to fix it, and he would send a sales person to quote us on a new unit. He arrived about an hour later, told us our unit was junk, way too big for our home, and was installed incorrectly and proceeded to quote us for a new unit. In the meantime my wife called another company she deals with in her job and ask for a 2nd quote. They came out and yes the blower was bad, but he took it out, inspected it, even seeing if maybe something got sucked in and that was making the noise. He got the part from a place in town for $225 and fixed the furnace for $602 with a new ignition switch too. The furnace they said was a bit big for our home, but the installation was fine, and was still operating at nearly 89% efficiency (unit rated at 92.1), and the CO level was at 22. I totally feel that Atlas Butler only wanted to sell me a new unit and jacked up the cost of repair to accomplish this. The next day when the rep called me and I told him we got it fixed he because very defensive and almost attacking attitude towards me because I fixed it.

Atlas Buttler Heating and Cooling
Atlas Buttler Heating and Cooling . A TOTAL RIP-OFF Their $89.00 service call was acceptable and they came out the same day. After researching the part replaced, it was the blower motor run capacitor and could be bought direct from *** for $29.00. Atlas Buttler charged me $299.00 for the part. Markup of 967.857%. Profit of $277.00. The labor needed was the removal of 5 screws, unplug the old part, plugin the new part and replace 5 screws. Total of about 10 minutes. I was also told that when he plugged the new part in I would be charged for it whether it fixed it or not. When I called to complain I was curtly told their prices are what they are and nothing could be done.?

My experience with the scheduling for this appointment was straightforward and convenient. The technician was A+ in terms of his manner and professionalism. However, the bill ($597) for 35 minutes of work is beyond inappropriate (this was shocking to me...). I am looking for some kind of resolution on this...
I had Atlas Butler come to diagnose why my air conditioning was not cooling the house
I had Atlas Butler come to diagnose why my air conditioning was not cooling the house. They diagnosed it as a metering device in the AC, but the technician admitted he wasn't really sure. After trying for two weeks to get a solid answer from them, I paid to have another company come to look at my system. The 2nd company found burnt wires in the furnace from a bad sequencer which was causing the heating element to be on while the AC was trying to run. I was told this could have caused a fire. I called Atlas Butler the let them know of the error and request the refund of the $89 diagnostic fee. The manager refuses to call me back and customer service tells me the manager refuses to issue a refund.

We have had a monthly service deal for $19.95 per month with Atlas Butler
We have had a monthly service deal for $19.95 per month with Atlas Butler. Over the past 18 mo. the techs that have come to our home to service the Heating & Cooling units have been less than honest about things. They are always trying to sell us a new AC unit. The past person was out in April and said coolant was low and other things as he was basically telling us the AC was old and should be replaced. I had another company come out because of an issue with the furnace and while here they proof checked all of Atlas Butlers feedback and like other analysis it wasn't true. The AC unit is great and they see no reason to replace. On Fri 5/21 I called to share feedback and asked a manager call back to discuss and to credit me for the 5/17 $19.95 charge. I didn't get a call back so I just called again today and they cancelled our service plan which is great, but didn't call me or credit my $19.95 as I requested. I had to move on because of a track record of dishonesty

Atlas Butler problem w/multiple billing: purchased warranty $11.95/mo to start in 2010 through 2018 *billed until 01/21
Atlas Butler problem w/multiple billing: purchased warranty $11.95/mo to start in 2010 through 2018 *billed until 01/21. After warranty expires cost is $14.95/mo *billed thru 01/21 plus still charging original $11.95. Suddenly on 10/25 charge *$23.95/mo added, not know why. No change to policy, no reason to change price. Had problem, called plumber, came 10/30; overcharged to clean drain. Plumber paid on my visa card but kept pushing add-on plumbing option on preferred plan which I clearly rejected. I am a little hard of hearing but I said NO to the plan and said I did NOT want plumbing on plan. Plumber reported to Atlas that I made verbal agreement. So how was I billed for $23.95 on 10/25 BEFORE plumber came out and I didn't even know about the most expensive plan? Made offer pay only 19.95 preferred plan includes heat and plumbing -NO, I want my money refunded for multiple plan fees charged simultaneously. 01/21 bill = 11.95 + 14.95 found since 2018; last = 14.95 + 23.95

Description: I was charged $595.72 by the defendant company for a furnace hot surface ignitor that had to be replaced by a competitor two years later for $149.40. The defendant charged $127.50 overtime rate vs $125 that was stated in the service agreement, did not honor their "Same Day Comfort Pledge", did not honor their advertised "no overtime charges, we are always here", and charged 4.75 hours for a 1.4 hour repair. All supporting documentation included in complaint.
Description: they came to our home and "repaired" our AC. It worked for 30 hours then stopped. A second atlas butler technician came on the 11th of July and said the burnt up part was defective causing the compressor to fail rendering our AC unit useless. The 2nd tech then tells me we'll need a whole new unit. I had Care heating and cooling come to our home on July 13th. That tech immediately noticed the compressor saver Atlas butler sold us was wired incorrectly. The mistake but a lot stress on the AC's compressor causing it to fail. Now we need a new AC unit.
Dear ComplaintsBoard.com, During the night of July 3 my air conditioner (a/c) quit working
Dear ComplaintsBoard.com,
During the night of July 3 my air conditioner (a/c) quit working.
Having seen TV commercials by Atlas Butler I called *** and got an appointment on July 4.
Upon arrival the technician advised me of the $89.00 diagnostic fee. He went to the basement to check the furnace (10 minutes). He then went outsibe to the a/c and came back with a faulty capacitor (15 minutes). He said the cost to replace it would be $588,00 but that may not be the final cost. I refused to pay the quoted cost to replace the capicitor. He then replaced the faulty capacitor, collected the diagnostic fee and left.
I called my regular a/c company . They replaced the capacitor on July 6 . Their cost was $228.00.
I called an a/c parts supply company on July 8. Their cost for the capacitor that was replaed on my a/c is $26.95
The $588.00 charge asked by Atlas Butler is a PRICE GOUGE OVER 2000% and that is my complaint.
I am a 90 year old widower, blind in one eye, low vision in the other, many other medical problems. During July 4, 5, 6 the temperature in my house reached 93 degrees.
Cool Buckeye,

I purchased a service contract from Atlas Butler
I purchased a service contract from Atlas Butler. I subsequently cancelled the service contract in July . Atlas butler continued to charge my credit in August Sept and Oct. Atlas Butler had provided no services during that time frame. I called them in Oct 2020 and questioned the charges. They finally cancelled the the service contract and I requested a refund of the charges Aug, Sep and Oct 2020. They refused to refund saying they were not aware that it had been cancelled since no notes were entered in their system. I had made a note on my credit card bill that I had called in July to cancel. In Nov 2020 I received a call from their accounts receivable person regarding my request for a refund. She informed me that they would not issue a refund and confirmed the account would be closed. I then contacted by credit card company and filed a dispute with them saying that I had been charged after cancelling the service contract. they investigated and provided me a refund. Atlas Butler is now charging me for the chargebacks in the amount of $32.95 +$15 fee for each month for a total of $143.85. They provided no service and were properly notified to cancel the service contract.

Phoned Atlas Butler to come to business location to assist with AC units not cooling
Phoned Atlas Butler to come to business location to assist with AC units not cooling. Technician arrived and looked at thermostats and said they were on the wrong setting. Total time in the building was 35 minutes. No tools or material used in this service call. Technician sat in service van for a while after he left the premises. I received an invoice for 2 hours of labor ($115/hour), a $35 charge for "trip" charge , and a $10 charge for "consumables". When invoice received it was for $275. Should have been $150. I called and complained. Atlas Butler is padding their invoices and expecting consumers and businesses to pay for time when technician is not present. Initially they said they would remove the extra hour of service. Today they said they would have done that if I was going to due a 'Maintanence agreement" with them. The person I spoke to in order to resolve this was nasty( listen to the tape AB). She accused me of doing similar billing as anesthesiologist. I refused to pay their full amount and sent a check for $150 today. I will not be using AB in the future and will not give them a recommendation to the rest of my business colleagues in our condo association or medical communities.

April 6 Atlas Butler Dear Manager: You are running quite a scam there
April 6 Atlas Butler Dear Manager: You are running quite a scam there. Atlas Butler came out and repaired my furnace on December 17, at a cost of $1,488.00. It broke again on the morning of April 2. Your technician visited, confirmed the malfunction, and mentioned needing parts. Surprisingly, some parts replaced in December needed replacement again. For diagnosing the issue, I was charged $89.00. Two days later, the same parts were replaced, and then the technician discovered an additional issue with the automatic gas valve, which I suspect was the original problem. Despite this, I was billed another $1,615.14. I endured five days in freezing temperatures. The valve, a White Rodgers Gas control valve, which is available online for $93.10, was part of the fix. Incredibly, Atlas Butler billed me an additional $795.00 for this. In total, Atlas Butler charged me $2,499.14. Including the previous visit, the amount reaches $3,987.14 in less than 100 days. I feel robbed. Moreover, I received no documentation detailing the replaced parts or the reasons for their replacement. It seems they are inventing charges!

On March 24 I had Atlas Butler come to my home for furnace issues
On March 24 I had Atlas Butler come to my home for furnace issues. They told me I needed a mother board for my furnace. When the new board was installed they then were unable to get the furnace to work. I had to show them where the electric box was located and another technician was called in and said I needed a blower for *** more. Before that there was no problems with the blower or electrical problems. The technician said that I could get a new furnace for *** verses $*** for the blower. The first technician said I had to pay for the board even though it did not fix the problem. Later that night Mike came in and told me the estimated cost would be *** and he would have to talk to his boss about taking *** off for the board and I was not provided an invoice. On the invoice I was charged *** for installation which made the cost ***. He then deducted *** because I was a club member which took the cost down to $***. I called Atlas Butler back on March 31 and requested an invoice. I asked how much I would be financing and I was told *** And that was the $975 deducted from the cost. When I received my bill the *** was not deducted and when I called Mike he said that the amount I had to finance was $*** and the *** was not deducted. I did not receive an invoice from Mike until April 1, 2029. I feel that I was way overcharged and I would like a refund for the

Called Atlas based on their 24 hour services and emergency plumbing services
Called Atlas based on their 24 hour services and emergency plumbing services. On 11/14 I called about 4:15p.m. For a plumber to come to my home for a serviced for a hot water tank that was leaking and needed replaced as soon as possible. I called the *** phone number from their web page. I spoke to a young woman that told me a plumber would make the service call after 6:00 p.m. and she explained how it was an 89$ Travel fee and how they do their billing and I was told i could use my credit card to pay. At approximately 7:00 p.m. I called the same number, spoke to another young woman and asked about the status of the service call. She was able to repeat to me all my information and then said she would have to have a dispatcher call me. At approximately 7:30 p.m. I got a call from a man telling me that they dont service my area and further more didnt even have any information about my first call. (Even thought the woman that took my call had the information). My complaint is largely that they did not provide the service that was promised, they do not disclose in their advertisement that there were limited service areas, furthermore this information was not shared at the first contact. I lost an entire afternoon of being able to contact another service provider as they did not provide that information. It is my belief this is terrible customer service and there is a lack of truth in advertising. I have a child that needs hot water treatments for a severe disability and we will now have to pay the price of her pain an suffering until we can find a reputable company to actually provided the service. Had we been made aware of this limitation at the initial call we would have moved on. But instead we trusted that they would provide the service they promised and advertised.

I called Atlas Butler for after hours service on 11/23 to take a look at my furnace at a rental home I own in the Columbus area after my tenant called me that the furnace was not blowing hot air. It was going to be quite cold that night so I decided to call for service instead of waiting till morning and calling my usual HVAC contractor. When the technician inspected the unit he called me and said the heat exchanger was really clogged up and the furnace was emitting too much co2 (I live out of the area and was not physically there). He told me it could actually kill my tenant and said it would be aprox. $6,000 if I wanted to repair it. I know I could replace the unit for less than that, so I told him I would sleep on it. He told me he had to shut down my furnace, he put an "unsafe gas appliance" sticker on it, and I paid him for the $89.00 service call. My tenant and I were both obviously quite startled by the fact the tech said it could make him sick or even kill him if left on so he had no choice but to sleep on the couch by his fire place and make it through a cold night. I called my regular guy first thing the next morning who came right out for a 2nd opinion before springing for a new furnace. He found that someone had actually turned the gas pressure up from 3.5 to 5.5 causing the gas issue in the first place. After fixing the pressure issue and a quick service/filter change the furnace was good to go. My tenant was so scared that the furnace was going to injure/kill him after this that he didn't trust the repair, not that I blame him, so I paid for yet a 3rd company to come to double check and everything was totally fine, verified by two separate licensed contractors. I called Atlas Butler and asked to speak to the owner/manager and explained the situation and asked for my $89.00 back after this incredibly unethical behavior. Even though he defended his technician and didn't offer any sort of apology, he did offer to refund after a good bit of yelling. He told me it might be a few days, and that was now 10 days ago, so clearly it hasn't been processed yet. Imagine my surprise when I came to the ComplaintsBoard.com site and the very first complaint I saw was for the exact same thing.

I purchased a home with a brand new furnace and A/C unit installed by atlas butler
I purchased a home with a brand new furnace and A/C unit installed by atlas butler. They installed the unit at the end of september and i purchased the home in october. Thereafter i called them to have the warranties placed over into my name as im the current home owner. Since getting into the warmer part of the year we have turned on our air conditioner for the first time since living here and noticed it doesnt properly cool our home and the unit runs for 3 to 4 hours continuously and turns off for ten minutes or so and then again runs for a few hours straight. This even happens throughout the night when the temps are cooler and the sun is down. I first contacted them by phone about these issues and they sent a technician out to look at the unit and system. During his inspection of the unit he asked me numerous questions about the size of my home and mentioned the a/c unit size may be too small but told me that atlas butler has "comfort specialist" that handle those things. He did turn up the blower motor in the furnace and said other than that everything looked fine and if things didn't improve to contact the company again to look into things further. I did contact them later that evening as the unit still wasn't performing well to cooling our home or lowering the humidity in our home. I spoke with an advisor who sent over my complaint to a "comfort specialist" and said they would be contacting me that next day. I was never contacted the following day and again called them to ask why i hadn't been contacted and this time a supervisor spoke to me and went to his manager who he stated " had my complaint on his desk" but was on the phone with another customer and would either contact me later that day or the following day. Both of which did not happen. The following day i called to ask to speak to a manager directly about the issue because my calls weren't being returned and after explaing the problem to a represinitave. She was persistent to not allow me to speak to anyone with any authority and then stated " she wasn't going to argue with me" and hung up on me. On their website they state "Atlas Butler offers, in writing, a No Lemon Guarantee, a Comfort Guarantee, a Property Protection Guarantee, and a two-year 100% Money-Back Guarantee" I've expressed both complaints with them about not being happy with the inadequate size of unit that was installed and that we are not living in "comfort" so we would like for them to stand by that guarantee.

On Friday 2/5 my furnace had gone out
On Friday 2/5 my furnace had gone out. My regular furnace company was unavailable until Saturday. With the cold weather I called Atlas Butler to address the situation. The technician was polite. I advised of the situation which had been going on for a few days with my furnace, and advised him that normally I do call another company, but they were unavailable that day. I advised that when they came out the last time when they left the furnace was running. He took a few minutes, said he ran some tests. Then advised me that with my furnace being over 20 years old it was probably better to replace it. He advised that the parts were not readily available, and if they were able to locate them it would cost around $3000.00 to repair it. I asked what a new furnace would cost. He advised he did not know. he said an installer would have to give me a quote. He advised me that the entire unit was out of warranty. He handed me a hand held device, where I had to sign twice. It did not show what I was signing for. It only showed the signature area. I did provide the two signatures, and was charged $89.00 for this "service". I heated my home that night through unorthodox though very legal means, a bit costly, but for one night I did not care. I was able to get in touch with my normal service provider, and advised of my experience. He was, to say the least, outraged. The heat exchanger is warrantied for life. This means my LIFETIME as I am the original purchaser of the unit. He advised me to try to reset the unit periodically to see if it would kick back on as it had earlier from time to time. He came back out the next day. He started to work on the unit. The first thing he found was that the igniter was unplugged. I had been resetting the furnace every so often, but it meant nothing as the igniter had been unplugged evidently by this technician from Atlas Butler, as when my own company had left before the furnace was running. It took about three hours, but the furnace did fail eventually (it started initially, the problem was that after so long a time it failed), and provided a series of codes to my Carrier dealer. He was able to diagnose the problem, repair the until with the brand new in-the-box parts that per the earlier technician were non-existent. My total bill was WAY under what the technician told me it would cost. I was informed that not only was the heat exchanger under warranty, the other parts were plentiful as well because millions of these furnaces had been sold. They even have conversion kits for them so that newer parts can be used. The old parts are still available new in the box at this time. My furnace is running, and it is fine. I have a real problem with how business was conducted by Atlas Butler in this instance. Had the technician come out and said "we need to order the parts, it will be a week", or "I don't work on this model of furnace, we need to get someone else", or even "we cannot fix this unit" I would have said oh well, guess I threw away $89.00 That did not happen here. They inflated the price of repair and tried to sell me a new furnace on what was going to be the coldest night of the winter so far this season coming up. The scenarios that they outlined were designed to intimidate and frighten older people into spending money that many do not have. It was an attempt to take advantage of us by giving us fraudulent information disguised as expertise. This is not permissible in an honest business environment. I called Atlas Butler and lodged a complaint. I was told that a manager would call me by the next day. I believe I actually called them on the 6th. It is now Tuesday. I gave them a day or two extra in order to allow communications to take place. I have never heard back from Atlas Butler.

Every time we need atlas butler they are quick to getting everything settled. We have had our furnace and AC now go out at bat times of the year and the where here next day to take care of it.
Great job and helpful knowledge. My tech *** B was great.
If I could give Atlas Butler a 0 rating I would. Terrible experience. Atlas Butler's plumbers played havoc on my house causing considerable damage, After they got out of here I had to call a repair company to fix the damage, In the meanwhile I contested Atlas Butler's charges with the bank including photos of said damage + copies of repair bills to fix the damage Atlas Butler caused, *** reversed the charges in my favor. So what does Atlas Butler do - They get a collections company involved that hounds me day and night. I am seventy five years old and will not tolerate the abuse. Atlas Butler doesn't have a legitimate claim here. They caused considerable damage and do not want to take responsibility for their actions, In any event I am not going to pay them anything and at my age I am not afraid of collections. However it is annoying and unprofessional. At this point I just want Atlas Butler out of my life. They r high pressure, smarmy and do not want to take responsibility for their actions. In addition I have talked to other seniors who have similar horror stories when it comes to Atlas Butler.
was professional, friendly, thorough and explained the process in detail, which we appreciated. In addition, he showed us before and after pictures, which we also appreciated. We highly recommend ***.
