Baton Rouge Water Company Worst customer service ever!!!!

Time 3:36 I stayed on hold the customer service lady stated I needed to send in documentation for proof of ownership. I sent in as much info as I could. She than kept me on hold for 19 mins. While waiting I had my husband call, and she answered the phone as if I was not on hold. Once he gave the address, she realized it was the same one, then she came back on the phone and stated that I needed a lease. I explained to her for the last three days that. The apartment has not been occupied. We were showing it for renters. She ignored that and said I still need a lease. I ask her if she "so you want me to commit Fraud by making up a lease/" she in returned stated that I already committed fraud by calling in giving wrong socials I called in February. This is a false accusation. And defamation of my character. I am going to stop typing and thinking about this because my heart rate and pressure is going up.
I hope she satisfied

Recommendation: I wish EBR had 2 water companies this would not be my first choice

Baton Rouge Water Company Bill payment

I was charged a “convenience fee” for paying online with my bank account. Those fees are typically only to cover credit card processing fees so it should not be added when paying with a bank account. It does not cost them to process direct bank account payment, and it is not standard for other places to charge a “convenience” fee for bank accounts.

Desired outcome: Remove convenience fee for payment via bank account

Baton Rouge Water Company Account

I have been with the Baton Rouge Water company since 1984 (41 years) I
recently called to get a copy of my water bill which should have my name and husbands name on it. (married 43 years). I was told I could not get a copy because my name was not on the bill only my husbands. I asked if I could add my name because he is older and disabled. I was told only one name could be on the account by a customer service rep. and I could change it for a fee. I don't want to change this account. My husband no longer works. My husband (68) receives SS, and a disability check. I asked if my name could be put on the account because we now have 2 grandkids living with us and we are enrolling them in school. The school wants us to provide proof we live at our address.

My husband and I have to both go up to the Baton Rouge Water company to get a copy of a bill to show we have service and live there. makes no sense.

Desired outcome: My name and husbands name added to our account for future questions and problems. My husband and I have never had any problems in the past 43 years.I shouldn't even have to complain to be added without a fee

Baton Rouge Water Company My november bill

Today is December 5th. Also the day I spoke to Customer Service three times about the same matter. I received my November bill on December 4th which contained a past due of 214.82 which would need to be paid by December 11th to avoid disconnection of service. I was confused about this because the last bill I received was for 50.00 plus change, which I paid in November around the 20th. Also paid 217.95 around September 12th. I always pay online and there is an extra fee for paying it which adds a few dollars to the bill. Because I was confused about these numbers on my bill I called customer service for water and waste. The information I received was conflicting because one told me I had a carry over bill from my prior address which was 350 E Polk St. I did not have a carry over balance and I have been living at my current address 170 Steele Blvd for two years. I know for sure I did not have a carry over bill because it was all paid. The rep from the water company advised me that someone came into the office and paid on my bill by accident so they credited this customer's bank account, therefore leaving me with a past due of a bill I know nothing about. When I asked how this happened the rep advised me that they applied the customer's payment to my account in error. If a customer came into the office with a paper check to pay their bill, how could my account be pulled up without the customer giving the account number or the address without me being present. That's the first thing customer service ask for if there is no bill present. So did this customer have a copy of my bill or did customer service pull up my info in error and apply the payment.? Could someone please explain this to me. I am not understanding it at all. Someone did not follow proper procedure and now it seems I am left holding the bag. I need answers. My account number is [protected]. My phone number is [protected]. I would appreciate it very much if someone in charge could contact me in reference to this matter. Thank you in Advance.

Upon me leaving to take care of my 72 old mother which is sick with stage four cancer.I allowed my daughter to leave here in which she were responsible for paying the utilities. Upon moving back. I returned to a water bill for over $900 In which I have to pay over $800 for them not to disconnect my water because she had several returned payments I was not aware of. Because I just returned two days ago. I was told a supervisor would call me back and have never received any calls.

Baton Rouge Water Company Payment not received

Reading the reviews for BR Water Co. was actually validating because I was losing my mind trying to navigate the system of simply paying my bill. I just now got an email that my automatic payment did not go through on my one account but did on my other account. Now I have to make the decision to pay the convenience fee by calling with a credit card or go through the whole process again paying through a pdf file which 8 out of 10 times didn't work. It is so complicated and when you follow each step carefully it still doesn't work, and I end up trying multiple times. How is it possible in 2023 that a major utility company does not have a website that you can sign into your account, pay your bill, view payment history, etc. I have used 3 different internet browsers to access their website because clicking on the majority of their links give me an error page (see picture). This is insane and like a monopoly, we have no power except to write reviews like this and hope that someone there has integrity and wants to at the very least do the bare minimum to allow for more autonomy with our bill. It would save time, money and so much frustration and irritability. Please please please start listening to your customer feedback (which you can't even send in an email because all there is listed on the website is a phone number).

Desired outcome: Please fix your website and change your system for paying bills so we can sign into our account and pay without convenience fees.

Baton Rouge Water Company My Sewer Bill

For the last 3 months, my sewer usage has been at 1670 cubic feet and my water usage has been at 300 cubic feet or less.

I've called the water company 3 months in a row and have been lied to.

They said they would fix the sewer cubic feet and give me a credit.

None of this was done.

I'm tired of calling them and getting lied to and nobody is investigating this bill.

Desired outcome: I need a refund, and my bill investigated.

Baton Rouge Water Company Billing, EBR water co.

Water was turned off in Sept. Called customer service & was told the water had been turned off in July, & that I had turned it back on. So they pulled the meter & replaced it with a damper proof meter. Until then my water never had been turned off. Since I was having my bill automatically payed on smart bill, I never noticed any problem. I can’t say with certainty to y the water was on when they came out n Sept. Perhaps it was human error, but I can say, with certainty, that I, r anyone else here, had ever touched that meter, & that our water service had never stopped. Maybe the valve was old & faulty & it never completely stopped the water from flowing. Check any of my other bills & u will find they r all paid on time, everything set up on automatic payment service. I’m honest, & I don’t cheat. I haven’t any reason to start now. If I was, there’s no way I’d turn the water back on during daytime.So, after paying in full, up to date to get the service back on, that very next day, with a 0 meter reading, I’m charged a tampering fee. When I call to pay I’m told I owe nothing, there’s a 0 balance due. Even on smart view, the same, 0 balance. Now on the Oct bill it’s back, showing a past due amount of $50 for meter dampening. Also, if this isn’t enough, the meter readings for the Oct 06 reading were calculated wrong. It reads, Current 905, previous 899, usage diff of 12. This is a difference of 6, not 12. I feel I’m either being targeted for no reason, r this was an honest mistake, that no one wants to take blame for. I’m willing to swallow my pride, with unjustly being called a thief, but be aware, I’m not willing to continually be taken advantage of.

Desired outcome: Correct & adjust the Oct 06 reading date’s bill, current & previous usage difference, from 12 to 6. Credit it to next bill. Continue doing bus. as we’ve been doing for the past 20 years.

Your staff is extremely rude and disrespectful and treat people like dirt, I have called several times to have a bill sent to me and they have not done it so each month my service is being disconnected for less than 100 dollars so I am convinced this is a personal issue with the people that work there. My most recent encounter being with someone named Cindi who lied about a service order being issued Mona is the only person there that treats people with respect Tanya the manager is awful.

Baton Rouge Water Company Being cut off

Just thought out they cut my water off they said my bill was 211 but I have recently made a payment for $71 and then another payment for $60 only old $34 but then had to pay $98 for my words when you cut back on that day with my water still didn't get cut on and somehow they still saying I owe $95 after I made a payment of 73 a volume of 60 and then another payment of $94 and then says I have to pay the other $95 before the 9th and I might have a new bill on the 19th and somehow they can't see the $60 payment but yet I have it on my bank statement I paid off before 3 p.m. it is now 10:40 p.m. that night she told me my daughter will be back on by 8 p.m. and if they don't have water

Baton Rouge Water Company Water service man

The guy who serviced me today had a real nasty attitude! He was very rude and cocky! I was only inquiring about what was going on. Turns out I forgot to pay my bill but he didn't have to be so rude about it. I never want to be serviced by him again! I wouldn't recommend his services to my worst enemy! I'm in total disbelief of what happened today. Real nasty attitude! Tall african american guy, truck number 54. He needs to some serious hospitality lessons! This is clearly not the job for him!.

I called about a water leak at Simplex and Monarch Ave. A crew came out several weeks ago and repaired it but it is leaking again. They need to get a crew out here and repair the leak. I have called several times about this matter but, no one has showed up the fix the problem. I have not even seen anyone to come out and look at the problem. It should not take this long to get someone out here.

Baton Rouge Water Company Water service

Bill was paid on 11/162020. Ending balance is
$2.13. On 12/2/2020 water was disconnected and meter pulled at 445 pm. Called at 447 pm to see why water was shut off. Was told have a past due of $183.29. From where? I have a copy of every bill starting in 12/2019 . Your numbers don't add up. You are screwing customers out of alot of money. Wad told would cost me $206.98 to reconnect. Didn't have my debit card with me, called at 613 pm and was told it would be 256.98. 100.00 extra to reconnect water? Really thats excessive. So right now I'm home with 4 sick kids and no water because you have cut it off for a 2.13 balance. Its [censored] and the 3 people I have talked to cant explain a damn thing. Hope yall sleep well. I would suggest I get a call from a manager first thing in the morning to resolve this issue. I have been have issues with this company since 2005.

Baton Rouge Water Company ongoing water leak

There is a water leak on Henderson Lane in Ascension parish. This leak has been ongoing for close to a year. It is a small leak and keeps the ditch in front of my house saturated with water to the point that it can not be mowed with a riding or push mower. The ground is saturated to the point that while walking through the ditch while trying to cut it with a weed eater, I sink in the mud 6 to 8 inches. I have reported the leak 5 times. The first customer service rep. told me she would enter a work order to have it repaired. After 3 months passed and no repair, I called again. This time I was told that since I was not the property owner of the physical leak location that they could not fix the leak. I then talked to the property owner who told me that she has complained to Ascension Water several times and has been told that this is a low priority. The third time I called the CSR again told me she would enter a work order. The forth call, the CSR told me that he would enter another work order and assured me that it would be repaired within 3 weeks. Two months pass with no repair. The fifth call the CSR told me that she would not enter a work order and actually hung up on me during the call. The next course of action will be to seek legal action to force the repair.

Baton Rouge Water Company Water main Leak

Dear Officials,

Around January 14th I placed a call to the water company of Baton Rouge about a water stream leak coming from their water main. A week later I placed a follow up call, because no one came out.

Around a week later someone came out but acted unconcerned about the problem. He simply said that you should get a plumber, even though the leak was gushing out of the Baton Rouge water main.

Today February first, I slipped, when crossing the stream of water which runs right in front of my home. Luckily I regained my balance or I would have had a serious injury, being a senior citizen on disability with sever knee problems.

I am considering legal action as a result of the water companies apparent dis-regard of this hazardous issue. Children frequently play on this street, but the flow of water runs down the entire street, it creates a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

This is a situation that is urgent and can't wait to be addressed at the water companies leisure.

Do to the fact that this leak is not in one of the more affluent neighborhoods, I feel that this matter is being completely ignored.

I would appreciate any help that you can provide in this matter.

Baton Rouge Water Company Billing Practices

Baton Rouge Water Company has recently implemented an PDF based online payment method. Upon receiving my second online bill through email marked " Utility Payment Processing " I payed my bill. On March 7th my utilities were disconnected while I was out of town. Upon Returning March 11th, I inquired with Baton Rouge Water about the billing issue, I was informed that they had only started the billing method in March, so I was mistaken in receiving a bill from them. After verifying that I had in fact received three bills prior from them, they regrettably informed me that if I hadn't received a confirmation email, they don't know how I thought the bill had been paid. After explaining that having only paid the bill once through the system, and there having been no clear indication that I should have received a confirmation email, it would be ignorant to expect me to assume it. After they explain to me that even with that information there was nothing they could do, all I requested was that I could make a complaint so that the next person who called with the same complaint wouldn't hear the line " We've never had this issue before ".

Baton Rouge Water Company is a billing company for the city, thanks to our deregulated utilities markets we have to deal with privately owned companies when we should be dealing with someone we could hold accountable... Next our public health care options will be privately owned. Disgusting.

Baton Rouge Water Company Customer Service

Anyone who lives in Baton Rouge knows how inflexible our water company is. Forget about getting an extension, and if you are young and just starting out, i.e. no credit to speak of, you can expect to pay up to $150.00 for your water service deposit.
If you are lucky enough to actually get service, you WILL be subjected to some of the rudest women in Baton Rouge, bar none. But this is not my complaint.
My complaint is this- for the last 8 business days I have repeatedly (stay at home mom, here, so I do mean REPEATEDLY) called [protected] in an attempt to reach customer service("we are experiencing high call volume, please try again later, and then it hangs up you) so that I can let them know that their automatic draft from my bank account needs to be updated. The account has been closed, and a new one opened. They will not get their money, and knowing them, will likely disconnect me before I ever get through to them with the new information. Would love to go visit them, but have no transportation. What to do, what to do.
I tried pressing the option for 'water leak emergency", so I could at least speak to a real person. Well, I got something, but I doubt she was anything like a real person. I think I could take great pleasure in peeling her skin from her flesh and cramming it in her smart mouth.
That's my beef with the Baton Rouge Water Company.

I called to see if I can set up something so this would not happen again, perhaps if I am sick and need to be hospitalized but when I called a woman named Laticia, bonqueesha, Umfoofoo something like that, told me they do not have programs for people like myself and that I just have to find someone to pay my bills for me. Trust when I tell you I hate this company, I really do! Just plain rude & disrespectful, they do not care about their customers whatsoever! I paid $255 to turn back on a $102 bill! Thank you for your rude service. I actually hate you!

Baton Rouge water is the WORSE company I've ever dealt with...
I called in to pay my bill, I asked the representative for the total amount water and sewer she said $194. I said and that will give me a "0" ZERO BALANCE ! She replied YES! I made the payment and got a confirmation #
10 minutes later I get several call from BR WATER saying we reversed your payment and your water is disconnected. You have to pay $194+$80 I WAS UPSET they had the nerve to be rude about it with no explanation. I asked for her supervisor she hung the phone up. I contacted the public service commissioner; they called the br water and listened to the call agreeing with me that the payment was made and that should be that. Public service called me back with no HELP. THIS COMPANY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING OR ANYBODY, ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY NO MATTER WHAT. Next step BBB WAFB CEO

Baton Rouge Water Company is ABUSIVE and unethical in regards to the treatment of their customers.

They had better be glad they have no competition. It's the only reason they get away with their complete lack of concern for the well being of their customers.

Dig a well if you can. These people are evil.

We have been disconnected again for the second time in 7 days. The last time we paid the bill and turned the water back on, now they have taken the meter too so it is impossible to turn it back on even though the bill has been paid. Of course they do this at 3 to 5 in the afternoon without letting anyone know they are doing it so you can not do anything about it.
This is a safety issue for many people especially in the summer when it is so hot and you need to cool off.
There needs to be an alternative water company in Baton Rouge for people to use and maybe they would not be so rude and uncaring to there customers.

Governor/Mayor do something about this company who has us held hostage!
