poor staffing
Every time I go to this branch the manager is never there. I do not know if there is a childcare in this office but it's always the staff children running around or screaming and there is no sense of professionalism here.
Most of the staff is don't even dressed professionally and I would not trust my money with unprofessional employees. I never see any of the other branches so casual and children distraction can cause large errors.
response to fraudulent activity
After receiving an SMS notifying me of fraudulent transactions on my BBVA debit cards, I was unable (and still am) to reach anyone in the fraud department. I tried the number included in the SMS, the number on the voicemail given on the recording at 844-243-6206, and an alternate number at 866-215-1501, which I have been on hold with for over 2 hours. The system finally hung up on me and said that no representatives were available, and to call back on the SAME number! Meanwhile I am no closer to securing my account, or getting a replacement debit card. Completely unprofessional and irresponsible, seeing as I have entrusted BBVA with my hard earned money.
checking? that's what they're calling it
Please, please do not waste your hard earned dollars here. The only one earning money in triplicate is this bank. Whoa Nelly, I haven't seen oopsie fees like this since the 1980's...
and they WILL NOT WORK WITH YOU. Bank here if:
you enjoy getting machines
talking to Customer Service Toll number who will dismiss a mere pittance of what they are racking up daily on your account (you will never catch up)
You will get referred to a "Banker" who is in Sales; and/or has not fully learned his job yet.
You will also get referred to "the bank where your account originated from" (GREAT LOCAL SERVICE) even if it's over 350 miles away.
FDIC, please investigate.
Dear Smallest of Dickus
Not if what they do is hold funds. The reason this bank will not last is that is does not work with customers. Call me after it closes and your applying for unemployment.
BIGGER BADDER MEANER DICKER
Shut up minimum wage bi$ch.
The original poster obviously suffers from some little man syndrome here. How can he be expected to predict the outcome of a major corporation when he can't even manage his own paltry finances. @Biggus Dickus, you hit the nail on the head. Don't pay attention to the snowflake whose net worth is less than one of my quarterly bonuses.
customer lack of service
If you deposit in a savings account, even with cashiers checks, it might take 10 days to clear. If you try and close your account it might take 20 or more phone calls, 10 or more faxes and hours on hold talking to people speaking from a script and they all have different answers to questions. Please don't even think about this bank. I think the federal regulators and the FTC and the BBB should shut them down. I'm leaving no stars, if it forces me to leave one to post my comment, I will have to do so. I've also contacted the WA. State A/G to file a complaint. My State Senators and Congress reps will also be notified. This bank is absolutely the worst company I've ever dealt with.
current employee
I am a current employee of BBVA Compass Bank, and have been in banking since 2003. Never have I worked for a bank with such an aggressive sales minded outlook. Customers are no more than dollar signs when they walk through the doors. There are sales goals for everything imaginable, even doing demonstrations on the mobile app for customers.. No joke...What in the world! This is Wells Fargo the sequel, There is a huge turnover rate, because this isn't a job, its a sweat shop... Only a matter of time before the Government steps in...
person assisting in activating new debit card
I spoke with Han, I believe his employee reference number was 608. You are welcome to listen to the call recording. He was hard to understand and even though I had answered several of the questions he asked. He stated he could not activate my new card. He was asking me questions like what was last deposit amount? Who was the last person you wrote a check too and the amount of our last check transaction? He continued to ask questions that I would have had to have a bank statement right in front of me to answer. After all this he could not activate the card. I asked for supervisor and was put on hold for an extended amount of time, probably hoping I would hang up. As this was going on, my wife was on her cellphone and the BBVA app and was able to active my card. Just wanted to let you know your app is great but phone customer service is ridiculous.

overdraft fees
I made a deposit to cover a late transaction on 4-29-19, deposit did not hit the account until maybe an hour after the transaction was made. There was not overdraft fee posted on my account that day so I proceeded with utilizing the remaining balance in my account. Almost 24 hrs later an overdraft fee was posted to my account for that transaction, causing my account to go in the negative with on pending transaction remaining. My would be in the green had that transaction not been posted ( late) I might add, now it appears I'll have too pay two overdraft fees.Thats seems completely one sided with them being allowed to lag in there transaction time but when it's on the other side you penalized for almost 80 dollars when you did deposit the appropriate amounts into the account.i feel completely taken advantage of and have lost complete trust in my bank, I do not think this is right and should not be allowed to take place over just minutes difference. I am requesting any resources available to take the proper steps to prevent this from happening to my self or any future customers of this company. Thank you for you time and I can be reached at [protected] or [protected]@yahoo.com for any questions regarding this incident.
checking account servicing
I had a business account with BBVA Compass Bank, which was always in good standing for over four years and was set up to receive direct deposits from many payers. BBVA Compass Bank closed my business account unexpectedly without giving me a reason, and disrupted my business operations. I am assuming that they did so because I was not interested to get a...
Read full review of BBVAaccount permanently frozen after lost check was reported
Over the weekend I misplaced a blank check, possibly stolen out of my purse, while I was on vacation. I immediately reported this to BBVA compass fraud and investigations department. I was told that my account would be frozen at that time until I choose to unfreeze it or close it permanently and open a new one. I was also told that all electronic debits for existing bills would still process electronically. Not the case! My car payment came back declined due to frozen account now compounding with late charges and interest rate! I called BBVA to unfreeze the account and was told no, that I couldn't, that it is permanently frozen and that I will have to go to the branch and open a new one. Now all my ebills are bouncing, my credit is screwed, having no control over my own account. All I wanted to do was to void one tiny little check. Other banks simple would have voided the check. Now I have to get a written letter from the bank to try and save my credit.
branch manager, and employees at northport alabama branch
Went in to bank about getting a loan to pay off bills. Asked loan officer to do a joint application. He pulled my social number and asked if i lived in a different state had wrong social number and asked me again for my social and gave it to him again. He said he was going to call us the next business day but never called. So i stop by office to check on loan and the branch manager talked to me and said we was declined. But my wifes information was not on the loan so he was supposed to add her and get bank with us but he still has not contacted us about the matter so i am very disappointed and would like to have answers. Thanks

closed account for no reason and holding on to the funds
The worst decision in my life to have my funds direct deposit to this bank! The closed my account holding my money hostage, telling me that I have to go into the branch to talk to them, but I am in Washington stat where there isn't a local branch! Every time I call nobody can resolve my issue all telling me they can not talk about it over the phone! What kind of reason is that! BBVA is a fraud!
credit card services
I recently received a BBVA credit card with an $8, 000 limit shortly after my wife opened a new business so I used this card and many others heavily. I ran this card near to its limit and then within the next 30 days payed it down to $1, 300 and all other cards to near ZERO obviously demonstrating my ability to pay my bills.
Within 10 days of my last payment to BBVA, you reduced my line of credit to only $2, 200 Well, you were the first card that I always used now you will be the last, I will pay off your balance next month and put your card in my drawer.
service bbva compass poor and rude customer service
August 28th at 9:22 a.m I did a deposit however machine advised there were some unrecognized items but the door never open to return the unrecognized items did not send a email or anything I pulled over to the teller she advised me that brinks would be in today lady by the name of Susan at eastdale circle branch Montgomery Al and provided me with the atm dispute number o called the number I literally spent hours on the phone and problem was not resolved asked for a provisional credit for the amount I was deposited I was told no asked for a supervisor got hung up on twice called back again finally a nice gentleman by the name of Napoleon got me transferred after being on hold for a supervisor by the name of Daniel whom I've come in contact with before whom is very rude and nasty I have nothing against offshore associate but you can not understand what they are saying and some can not understand you and when you ask for a american representative they tell you this is the best you are going to get it appears they have taken over customer service but this is a bit redundant I called the branch on eastdale circle this lady Susan literally got smart with me telling me she just got in and was due in at 1030 a.m and I didn't call until 11:10 a.m I just hung up because I have been treated with very poor customer service I was not asking anyone for a loan I was only inquiring about my money that was taken at the atm machine and did not register in my account I wold love to speak with the president of this bank because this is unacceptable my son had an appointment in Birmingham al and I was not able to take him all because the atm took my funds and no one seemed to care enough to even provide a provisional credit this bank is going to lose a lot of business if they already haven't if you can not get better customer service oriented people
service charges on an account that was closed 5 months ago.
I closed an account in March 2018 and get an overdraft notice in August 2018? I had a verbal statement from the teller that the account was in fact closed. I took the cashiers check to another bank that same day. There has been no activity on an account that was closed. If there was, that's fraud. This needs to be resolved ASAP by Compass Bank. Customer service is poor and this is an example of why I changed banks.
I filed a dispute for a charge they still have not fixed my account I yet it's been 4 months now I just want to close the account they still send me text alerts saying I am now negative 63.00 I filed a dispute but they have not done anything to clear up the mistakes plus they are charging for their NSF fees which are mostly what the 63.00 is they are the most deplorable bank I have ever had the displeasure of handling any money stay far away from these crooks they just as bad as you can get lousy bank practices lousy customer service unreliable. Talk about shady banks they are that top of the list bar none.
poor customer service and bad practices
5/22/18 I was hit with three overdraft fees despite having plenty of money in my account to cover all withdrawals. When I contacted customer service, they had completely different numbers than I had on my online statement. I pointed out that when those three bills were paid, I had made deposits and transferred money into the account so that I had a cushion. They claim that my account was already overdrawn when those withdrawals were taken. My records show that I had more than $300 more than was required to pay all three bills. They were unwilling to do anything to help despite the fact that even currently my account is in the green. Tough to justify overdraft fees when the account has a positive amount.
As for a resolution, I just want my $114 refunded so that I can move on to a bank that cares about its customers.
I'm having a similar problem. I deposited money into my account through the ATM on 05/19/19 to cover a $62 autopay that was scheduled to be submitted the following day. According to my deposit receipt, the money that I deposited was added to my bank balance. I called the following afternoon, & the bank's automated system said that my balance was over $112, with the balance available for withdrawal just over $50 (that would've been after the autopay posted). I made a couple of minor purchases totaling about $4; then got hit with 2 overdraft fees for those purchases, even though the NSF card notification & my bank statement both show a positive balance. I had another small autopay that would've been covered had it not been for those fees, & I got an overdraft fee on it as well. My paycheck was direct deposited the next day; but b/c of the fees, several other bills received overdrafts. The total in fees was $266. When I called, Maria gave me some garbage about the $62 payment being submitted before my deposit posted; even though, according to both my bank statement & their automated system, my deposit was made, & posted, before the payment came out.
my cd account
They were not sopost to charge me anythng till the 19th of april and u all did and wit overdrew my account dis is a rip off and im going 2 contact a lawyer tomorw moring because i can transfer my money to my checkn and i have a pending post of 100 dollers and it wont even let me use it like really a rip off beawere of dis bank da well rip u off like me
atm
I'm furious with this bank. ATM is always down. I hate that every time I want to deposit or withdrawal money, I have to get off. Its very frustrating. I went on Monday and technicians were working on the atm so therefore I wasn't able to withdraw money. I went again today and it wasn't working . Its usually down twice a week so inconvenient. Then to make matters worst they took off the one inside the bank.
my checking account/debit card
Okay I just got my account there 3 weeks ago and not only have I been unable to get my ssi funds, but theyblocked my debit card before I ever even recieved it. I called multiple times, been hung up on, tried reporting my two deposited checks as stolen and could not go to my dad's funeral cause they won't allow me to have my money. Now I am past due on bills, I cannot get to my dr appts. Or buy my medicines. This is ridiculous
And they still refuse to give me my money
terrible compatibility with intuit mint
I am infuriated with this bank. They have absolutely terrible compatibility with Intuit Mint, which I used to manage credit cards, loans, payments, etc.
If I could drop a thousand curse words to their tech team I would, that is how frustrating this situation is, and it's making me want to completely switch to a different bank that has some tech competence when it comes to working with Intuit Mint.
For the love of God, all I want to do is connect my BBVA account with Mint, but all the time, it says "error signing in" and this is NOT an error on behalf of Intuit Mint. Not a single one of my other accounts have ever had a single issue, yet my BBVA account is virtually never not having a sign in issue!
Stop trying to "add an additional layer of security" and just make the bank work with the app! I shouldn't have to try to sign into the account every day and get the same security question 50 times in a row and have it still not work because you guys want to tout on about how secure you are. Other banks make it work, and if you won't, I will switch!
corporate business account
BBVA Bancomer (primarly in their Los Barriles, BCS Mexico branch) is the worst bank I have dealt with. They are arrogant, extremely slow and unorganized. Every time you visit their bank in Los Barriles, BCS Mexico to talk to one of their 10 plus bank attendants takes a minimum of 2 hours. Most of the time they have employees sitting around and playing on their cell phones. They also out of the blue decided that they would cancel all corporate dollar accounts and force the creation of new accounts which will require additional efforts and wasted time at the expense of others. They do not care either. They decide to limit the amount of cash withdrawls to a limit that is around $100 usd per day and forcing the client to pay their withdraw fee along with your home bank.
