Smart meter overbilling
I own a strata warehouse in Langley city. Every Hydro bill in recent memory has been within a few dollars. My last bill was for 4X as much money as any in the last few years, as my usage is constant. When I called B. C. Hydro to WTF on this I was informed that a smart meter was installed at the very beginning of the billing period. They told me there is no recourse dispite the glaring discrepancy and that if I don't like being screwed in this manner I don't have to be a customer. What has likely happend to you and your meter is what is known as Shared customer / Meter DATA Mix up.
Likely B.C Hydro has given you a Previously USED SMART METER. The Data from the previous customer
is now your BILL, also you get to look at the Previous CUSTOMERS hourly data, all stored in the Smart Meter,
that is now your meter. For a solution to this call up E Denham, at B.C OPIC
When ever B.C Hydro installs a Meter make sure you Read the Initial Display READING.
