I ordered a GE cook top over a week ago and set up delivery for September 5, 2023. Despite being more expensive for installation that Home Depot or Lowes, I sepected Best Buy because the date they could install worked for me. I plan to take a day off work to be home for installation.
At 8 AM on 9-5, the local installer calls me and tells be Best Bust would not load my cook top into his truck despite having the paperwork. I asked why and he had no idea and said "I am just the local installer."
I call Best Buy...that took close to an hour to get to anyone that cold even begin to try to help. Best Buy insists that the stove top is being delivered on 9-5. I tell them that the installer has called me and said Best Buy would not load the stove into his truck and he does not have it. Best Buy continues to insist the installer has it. After an huor of going back and forth the call drops.
Eventually, Best Buy calls me back. I give them the installer's number and they call him to verify he does not have the stove which they do. I ask the associate if I can go to the store and pick up the unit so it is here when the installer comes. I am put on hold again and he comes back and says I can pick it up at the store but not until October 27! I ask why, since they are in stock. The associate says they do not have control over timing.
I ask if they can deliver it another way and they put me on hold again. Five minutes later they indicated they would some how get the stove to the installer. I say "great."
An hour later, I get an automated call from Best Buy confirming my appointment on 9-6! There is no option to actually talk to anyone live. So, I call the installer again and he insists he cannot get the unit today "I can only pick up appliances from the warehouse between 6 and 7:30 AM." I call Best buy AGAIN and go through the phone tree for the 5th or 6th time. and finally get someone. They tell me my stove is being delivered and installed today and have no record of an appointment on the 6th.
I tell them the events of the day and ask them to call my local store to find out what is going on. I am told that Best But national customer support cannot call local stores. I try calling the store and am automatically transferred to national customer support.
This is not the first terrible experience I have had with Best Buy. I am hoping I can cancel my order with them and find the cook top elsewhere. The literally told me someone would call within 48 hours with an update. Just dreadful. Never will use them again!
Desired outcome: Have my stove installed on 9-5-2023 as it was supposed to be. Otherwise I hope to cancel the order and take my money elsewhere.
