Big Apple Pet Supply Disappointing Customer Service Experience with BigAppleHerp - Not Worth Your Time or Money

I gotta say, I'm pretty bummed out about my experience with BigAppleHerp. I was really excited to potentially buy a skink from them, but after my short and not-so-sweet conversation with their customer service, I'm definitely not going to be giving them my business.

So, on their website they have a phone number listed for any questions you might have, and they even say that if you text them before buying anywhere else, they'll give you a better price. Cool, right? Well, I didn't even ask for a better price - I just wanted to know if they price matched and if I could pick out my skink from the ones they had available. Seems like pretty reasonable questions to me.

But instead of a professional and friendly response, I got this (check out the screenshot below). Um, excuse me? That's not how you talk to a potential customer. If they had been nice and helpful, I probably would have gone ahead with the purchase anyway. But now I'm definitely going to steer clear, and I'll be telling my friends to do the same.

When you're buying a new pet, it should be a fun and exciting experience. You want to feel like you're getting your new buddy from a source that's professional, knowledgeable, and happy to help. Unfortunately, that's just not the vibe I got from BigAppleHerp. So, if you're looking for a new pet, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

Big Apple Pet Supply Disappointing Experience with BigAppleHerp: Dead Chameleon and Poor Customer Service

I recently had an experience with BigAppleHerp and unfortunately, it was not a positive one. I ordered a beautiful carpet chameleon and was excited to receive it. However, when I picked up my order at the Fedex Hub, I was devastated to find that my chameleon had arrived dead.

To make matters worse, BigAppleHerp had missed shipping out my order not once, but twice, even though they promised to do so. When I opened the box, the heat pad and box were still warm, but my poor chameleon was lifeless with its tongue out. I immediately contacted customer service to report the issue.

To my surprise, the customer service representative informed me that the live guarantee was voided because my nighttime temperature was 3 degrees below their requirement. I had no idea about this requirement, otherwise, I would have never risked it. The representative offered me a small partial refund of $13.77, which was a significant loss for me as I had paid $114.90 for the chameleon.

I couldn't help but feel frustrated and disappointed with the situation. I believe that there were a couple of factors that contributed to the chameleon's death. Firstly, the box and heat pad were still warm, indicating that the chameleon may not have been healthy or may have had a respiratory infection before it was shipped. Secondly, if BigAppleHerp had shipped out my order on time, the chameleon would not have been exposed to the low nighttime temperature that caused its death.

I tried to communicate my concerns to the customer service representative via email, but unfortunately, I was left with most of the loss. Overall, my experience with BigAppleHerp was not a good one, and I would caution others to be aware of their shipping policies and requirements before making a purchase.

Big Apple Pet Supply Disappointing Experience with BigAppleHerp: High Prices, Unreasonable Shipping Charges, and Unfair Policies

I recently purchased a panther chameleon from BigAppleHerp and I must say, I was disappointed with the experience. The prices were quite high and the shipping charges were exorbitant. I felt like they were taking advantage of me and my love for pets. I could have easily found a cheaper alternative at my local pet store.

To make matters worse, my brown female chameleon didn't even last for two weeks. She developed a black infection on her tail and died within a week. When I contacted BigAppleHerp, they refused to refund my money and only offered a 3-day return policy. I couldn't believe it! It was clear to me that they knew the pet would not last long and they just wanted to keep my money. This is unacceptable, especially when other pet stores offer a 30-day return policy.

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from BigAppleHerp. They claim to be pet experts, but they couldn't even provide me with a healthy pet. It's all about the money for them, not the well-being of the pets they sell. I urge them to own up to their mistakes and offer better policies for their customers.

Despite my negative experience, I will continue to review BigAppleHerp and their services. I want to make sure that other pet lovers don't fall victim to their unfair practices. I hope they will take my feedback seriously and make the necessary changes to improve their services.

In conclusion, I would not recommend BigAppleHerp to anyone looking for a pet. Their prices are high, their shipping charges are unreasonable, and their policies are unfair. Save yourself the trouble and find a better alternative.

Big Apple Pet Supply Poor Communication and Unprofessionalism: My Experience with BigAppleHerp

I recently made a purchase from BigAppleHerp for two frogs - a strawberry dart frog and a tiger legs tree frog. However, I received a text message from them informing me that they no longer had the tiger legs frog and offered to replace it with a different dart frog. I agreed to the substitution and they updated my order on Shopify.

However, when I checked my order, I noticed that they had replaced the strawberry frog instead of the tiger legs frog. I did not agree to this substitution and asked them to cancel the order. Unfortunately, they refused to cancel the order and the guy I was communicating with argued with me for over an hour via text message.

He kept sending me screenshots of where I supposedly agreed to the substitution, but it was clear that I only agreed to substitute the tiger legs frog with a green dart frog. I never agreed to substitute the strawberry frog with a green dart frog. I told him that I was refusing the order because it was not the frog I ordered and not the replacement I agreed to.

However, he continued to argue with me and even tried to guilt me into taking the frog I did not order by saying that I would be killing the frogs if I didn't take them. I asked him to stop texting me multiple times, but he continued. I must admit, I was a little scared because he seemed unhinged.

Overall, my experience with BigAppleHerp was not a good one. The communication was poor and the guy I was dealing with was unprofessional and aggressive. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking to purchase frogs or any other pets.

Big Apple Pet Supply Terrible Customer Service: My Experience with BigAppleHerp

I ain't one to leave a bad review, but I gotta say, BigAppleHerp ain't worth your time or money. I saw on their website they had a buy 1 get 1 deal, so I hit 'em up on Facebook since they said they were too busy to answer the phone. The person who responded was a total jerk. Instead of explaining the deal, they called me an idiot and said I was stupid for thinking they'd give away a snake and lose money. All they had to do was explain it nicely and I would've been happy to buy from them. But no, they had to be rude.

Now they won't stop messaging me on Facebook, bragging about how much money they made last year. But come on, we all know 2020 was a weird year with COVID and all. I should've done my research before even considering buying from them. Their customer service is terrible and they only care about your money. Don't waste your time or money on BigAppleHerp.

Big Apple Pet Supply Unprofessional Behavior from BigAppleHerp: A Review

So, I was looking to get a snake from BigAppleHerp (bigappleherp.com) and let me tell you, it was quite the experience. They wanted to charge me extra money for reasons that I'm still not quite sure of. Then, when they finally reached out to me, they told me that what I wanted wasn't actually in stock like the website claimed. They suggested that I get something else instead, but I kindly declined. I told them that maybe in the future I could go to them as I was still excited about getting a new pet.

But then, for reasons unknown, they messaged me this morning asking for my order number. When I gave it to them, they said it wasn't one of their numbers. Mind you, I had two different confirmations of the cancellation the day prior. I then searched their number and saw who was reaching out to me. I again said sorry and explained that I thought it was a different company that I had just purchased a pet through. But instead of being understanding, they had the audacity to message back laughing at me with emojis and saying good luck.

Now, I don't know about you, but if I were running a business, I would want to be professional and still want someone's business even if there was a misunderstanding. I mean, if someone went somewhere that I thought was a bad place, I would want to help them and steer them in a better direction. But instead, they acted like a middle school child and lost someone who was actually still willing to go to them in the future.

It's really sad to see a business act this way, especially when there are so many people who have gone to the Better Business Bureau on this place. I mean, come on, BigAppleHerp, you can do better than this. Be professional and treat your customers with respect. It's not that hard.

Big Apple Pet Supply Disappointing Purchase Experience: Baby Bearded Dragon from BigAppleHerp

I recently purchased a baby bearded dragon from BigAppleHerp for almost $90. Unfortunately, they didn't provide any information about the age of the dragon, so I had to guess based on its size. I would estimate that it's only a few weeks old. The website only had 4 or 5 categories to choose from, and the picture of the dragon in the category I chose was obviously not what I received. I was disappointed to receive a brown dragon that looked nothing like the high-colored yellow dragon in the example picture. It looked like something you would find at Petsmart, but with even less color. I understand that I will love and care for my new dragon regardless of its color, but I paid for something specific and did not receive it.

Despite the website's shortcomings, the baby dragon seems healthy. It's eating well and is responsive and active. However, I did have some issues with my order pending for several days before it was finally approved. I had to call the company personally to find out what was going on, even though the payment had already been taken from my bank account. This was frustrating, but I'm glad that everything worked out in the end.

Overall, I think that BigAppleHerp could improve their website and customer service. It's important to provide accurate information about the animals being sold and to fulfill orders as advertised. I hope that they take this feedback as constructive criticism and work to make improvements. Despite the issues, I'm happy to have a new dragon friend and will provide it with a great home.

Big Apple Pet Supply Unreliable and Disappointing: My Experience with BigAppleHerp

I gotta say, I wouldn't recommend buying from BigAppleHerp. I got myself a baby ball python, but I didn't get any confirmation on my order even though they took my payment right away. The only good thing was that the shipping was quick, but that's about it. They say they're in Florida, but my snake came from Texas. And it was way smaller than the snake in the video they showed us. There was nothing in the box about how old the snake was or when it was last fed. And they didn't even say if it was eating live or frozen mice. The only way to talk to them is by text, 'cause their emails are all automated and just tell you to text them anyway. So don't even bother with the email. I texted them the day after I got my order and asked about the snake's age, when it was last fed, and if it ate frozen or live mice before. They told me to wait 48-72 hours to try and feed it and that it eats fuzzy mice. But even after waiting and trying to feed it twice, my snake wouldn't eat. And this morning, I found it dead. We only had it for a week. I'm so upset, and my son is too. He was really excited about our new snake, but it died so soon. If you're thinking about ordering from them, don't. They don't get back to you fast enough, if they even get back to you at all. And if you get a live reptile, you gotta report any problems within 3 days. And if you do order from them, keep everything they sent you and the shipping label, and send it all back. It's just not worth it.

I received an email stating that my order was on hold due to an incorrect number, but they didn't provide any instructions on how to fix it. I reached out to them with my order number and corrected phone number, but they responded with a screenshot of a conversation they had with the person who now has my old number. The message simply stated that my order was still on hold, without any explanation on how to resolve the issue.

Feeling frustrated, I decided to place a new order with the correct number. However, BigAppleHerp then asked me to verify the items on my original order. I complied, but then they hit me with a fee without any explanation. I assumed it was for the wrong phone number, but they later claimed it was because an item I ordered was out of stock and the next closest item was more expensive. This was never mentioned before, and I had to send a screenshot of the email to prove it.

After some back and forth, they eventually refunded me the fee. I was relieved, but still puzzled by the whole experience. It felt like the person running the business was playing a game and expecting everyone to follow his rules without question. Despite the frustration, I appreciate that they eventually refunded me, which is why I'm giving them two stars instead of one. Overall, I would caution others to double-check their order details and be prepared for potential surprises when dealing with BigAppleHerp.

Big Apple Pet Supply Frustrating Experience with BigAppleHerp: Poor Communication, Unprofessional Owner, and Uncertain Delivery

I've ordered from BigAppleHerp twice now, and my experience has been a bit of a rollercoaster. The first time I ordered, they were very communicative and let me know that they couldn't sell me the snake I wanted because it was too cold. I appreciated the heads up and decided to try again a few months later.

This time around, things have been a bit more frustrating. I ordered a snake on March 18th and got a confirmation email saying they weren't sure if they had any females left but would try to fulfill my order. The snake was supposed to ship the next week, but I got an email saying it was too cold and would ship the following week instead.

When that week came around, I still hadn't received any updates, so I reached out to them. They said they had sent another email (which I didn't receive) and that they were going to refund my money and cancel the order. But then a few minutes later, they said they would actually be able to ship on Monday and I would get a tracking number.

Monday came and went with no updates, so I tried to reach out again. Finally, they responded and said they had emailed me again (which, again, I didn't receive). They said they would ship on Wednesday or Thursday, but the overnight low was actually lower on those days than it had been on Monday.

At this point, I'm not sure if I'll even get the snake I ordered, let alone if it will be a female. I used Sezzle to make payments, but I would avoid using them with BigAppleHerp. I've just been getting the runaround from them, and when I asked for a refund, they refused.

When I contacted them again on April 8th to ask about shipping, I did finally get a tracking number. But when I asked about it, the person I was talking to told me I was crazy. I was frustrated because I had been given so many different shipping dates and had to keep reaching out to them for updates.

When I mentioned that I hoped I wasn't talking to Steve, the owner, I was surprised to find out that I was. Our conversation was completely unprofessional, and he even threatened to leave bad reviews for my business. I don't think that's an appropriate way for an owner to behave, and I wouldn't recommend buying from BigAppleHerp if that's how they treat their customers.

If they do eventually deliver the snake I ordered and it's in good health, I'll be happy to change my review. But for now, I'm just frustrated with the whole experience.

I was gonna buy a tree frog from this place, but then I saw a bunch of bad reviews. People were saying the animals were sick or dead when they arrived, and that the company was rude when they complained. I told the company I didn't feel good about buying from them because of the reviews, and they asked where I saw them. I said I found them on the ComplaintsBoard.com and Reddit. They said thanks and have a good day. But then they started texting me a bunch of screenshots of five-star reviews, even though I was on an important call. They said they worked hard to run the business right and that I was being insulting. That's not how you treat people. Other reviews say they delete bad reviews from their site, so I don't trust them. Don't buy from these guys.

Big Apple Pet Supply I got 4 animals from this seller

I got 4 animals from this seller. They said they were Field Collected. I got 2 Sexed Adult Red Eyed Tree frogs and 2 Sexed Adult Tokay Geckos. They came fast, but the packaging wasn't great. The frogs were in deli cups, but the Tokays were in a mesh bag with paper. Tokay Geckos are territorial, but they put them both in the same bag with paper between them. The red eye tree frogs looked healthy and were the right size. They seem to be doing well. The Tokay Geckos were in bad shape. They had regrown tails, which they didn't tell me. They were very small and skinny. One died a few days later. The other one is eating, but not gaining weight. I think it has parasites. I'm not sure if they were sexed right. They looked so bad that I didn't want to check. They were more expensive than the ones at reptile shows near me and in worse shape. They also filter out bad reviews on their website. I wrote a 3 star review for the Tokay and a 5 star review for the red eye. They only published the good one. All their animals have 5 star reviews, so they must be filtering out the bad ones.

Big Apple Pet Supply I spent $150 on two tree frogs

I spent $150 on two tree frogs. One of them, Punch, is beautiful. The other one, ***, died less than 4 hours after unboxing. I was told to send pictures of my entire setup (which is fine, trust me). But why bother? There's no guarantee on frogs. You can find reviews of Big Apple Pet Supply Inc on other sites, so I suggest you check them out before buying from them. Also, a big thank you to Big Apple for putting my real name on the *** reviews site. I didn't ask for any money back, so I didn't send any pictures. And how was I rude for pointing out that they might have a major issue? Had to edit this review to fit the character limit.

BA: Highly unusual... They request photos. While frogs have no guarantees, we would at least like to evaluate your system. Thank you and sorry to hear that.
EB: I know where I won't be getting any more frogs. I'd also like to add that one of those frogs died within 3 hours after opening the box.

Response from the owner 15 hours ago: We assume this is *** of *** referring to the red eye tree frog you claimed died overnight. We asked you perfectly legitimate questions about your setup along with some photos. You refused to show us your enclosure and temperature gauges, etc. There's no reason to be outright rude to us when we are trying to help you. You can urge others to go see reviews outside of ***, but the most legitimate reviews are on ***. In addition to that, we welcome anyone to go to our website to see more than *** 5-star reviews that include customer photos. We have been in business since *** online and about to hit our 30th year.

UPDATE: The review says that there is no guarantee on frogs, but anyone is free to read our live animal guarantees as they appear on all pages of our website so that they can see in writing that this is not a fact. We did try to help this client, but unfortunately, they refused all help and wouldn't even show a single photo of the enclosure or gauges or any aspect of the setup.

I had a shipment set up for my pets to come on a specific day because I wouldn't be home on Tuesday. I told them multiple times that I couldn't receive the package on Tuesday. They said my animals would come on Wednesday. A customer service person was really mean to me, lied and sent them on Tuesday, the day I said I couldn't receive them. They told me to order and promised that my animals would come on Wednesday. I have screenshots of them telling me this. They lied and sent them on Monday. I have proof that they lied and that the customer service person was rude to me. They acted like they didn't know what was going on and stole my money. They purposely endangered animals and sent my package on the wrong date. They lied to me and stole my money. Big Apple herpetological steals from disabled people.

My husband and I ordered baby turtles, and they arrived safe and well. The interactions with the staff through email and text were pleasant and helpful. The turtles are in superior condition, and are active and already exploring. Big Apple Herps have excellent prices, and use FedEx for a speedy delivery. When one kind of turtle we wanted was not available, they contacted us immediately, and offered a wonderful substitute species. All in all, the best online live reptile experience I have ever had, these guys are great!- Ray, New York

don't buy from this company, in my opinion, they don't take care of these animals properly. I ordered a baby black roughneck monitor from them which passed away in less than 3 days. disappointed but reassured since they gave me store credit which I used to buy 2 baby Savanah monitors and a baby male green keeled bellied lizard. Well, the savannah monitors arrived doa and the green keeled lizard died just a day later. when I contacted them and I admit I cursed at them but in my defense, I was frustrated that's almost 400 dollars down the drain and a company that's sent me 2 halfway to death's door animals and 2 doa animals. When I informed them about this they got really defensive and I quote, ¨weve had a 99.3% success rate and somehow you have 4 dead animals?¨ They also said no one has problems with the green keeled bellied lizards and the babies are usually awesome. I sent the correct photos except for the person I was talking to who said the box was blurry having more questions I asked more but then they stopped responding to my email and number on march 25 and I haven't heard from them since. Please don't order from this company and yes they will probably try to justify or deny these claims but I have photo evidence. I have also been keeping reptiles for over 10 years and have ordered from numerous other very good companies that have sent me HEALTHY reptiles for example underground reptiles.

Big Apple Pet Supply Sick russian tortoise

I ordered two Russian Tortoises. I picked them up from the fed ex hub as soon as they opened at 830 am. They were packaged poorly and the sacks they were in were very dirty. One Tortoise eyes were swollen shut with gunk all over it and was wheezing loud enough to hear without assistance by the afternoon, so I took it to the vet where the vet determined it had an eye infection and a respiratory infection. I was in contact with BigAppleHerp the entire time. here are some of the things they told me.

1. my vet is taking advantage of me

2. Russian Tortoises don't get eye infections or respiratory infections

3. It got too hot on the delivery truck before it was delivered to my home because it gets 120 degrees in my area (even though i told them multiple times I picked it up from FedEx that morning so it wasn't on the delivery truck and therefore not exposed to the high temps of the afternoon)

4. Russian Tortoises don't die

the tortoise died and 3 days after I notified them it died they asked for pictures to issue me a refund. I dug it up and sent the pictures and have not received any further communication from them. Other then they want a copy of the labs my vet did to determine it had a respiratory infection because "Russian Tortoises don't get those" and when I told them how unhappy I was they told me "What's one more bad review?"

Desired outcome: Just a refund on the sick animal.

Big Apple Pet Supply Unimpressed with BigAppleHerp: Unhealthy Reptiles and Unacceptable Owner Behavior

I wanted to share my experience with bigappleherp.com. I have to say, I was not impressed. The owner, Steven, seems to be a bit of a cry baby and the reptiles he sells are not healthy. If you're in the market for a new pet, I would recommend looking elsewhere. I've had good experiences with Underground Reptiles and Imperial Reptiles. They deliver on their promises and don't try to deceive you.

I also want to mention that Steven, the owner of bigappleherp, has been accused of some very serious allegations. I won't go into detail, but let's just say that he has been accused of some very disturbing behavior. It's important to support businesses that treat animals with respect and care for their well-being. Steven's behavior is unacceptable and he should be held accountable for his actions.

In conclusion, I would not recommend bigappleherp.com. There are plenty of other reputable businesses out there that sell healthy and happy reptiles. Do your research and make sure you're supporting a business that aligns with your values.

Big Apple Pet Supply Terrible Customer Service and Animal Care: My Experience with BigAppleHerp

So, I ordered a leopard gecko from BigAppleHerp and I was really excited to receive it. But when I opened the delivery box, I found that the gecko was dead. I was really upset and I immediately contacted the company to let them know what had happened.

I sent them a video of how I carefully opened the box, but they didn't seem to care. They told me that it was my fault that the gecko had died because I had sprayed a little bit of alcohol to disinfect the FedEx box before opening it. I couldn't believe it! They even told me that they didn't understand COVID and that there was no research to show that surfaces or objects could carry the virus.

I was really disappointed with their customer service. If they had just told me that the weather was too cold to ship the gecko at first, I wouldn't have been so angry. But instead, they blamed me for something that wasn't my fault.

Overall, I would not recommend BigAppleHerp to anyone looking to buy a pet. Their customer service is terrible and they don't seem to care about the well-being of their animals.

Big Apple Pet Supply Big Apple Herp: A Disaster of a Purchase - Dead Chameleon and Terrible Customer Service

So, my daughter was super pumped to get her first chameleon. She found Big Apple Herp online and thought it was the perfect place to buy from. But, let me tell you, it was a total disaster! The chameleon arrived dead! Can you believe it? And it was the middle of winter! Who in their right mind would mail a reptile in those conditions?

To make matters worse, this company claims to have been in business for 27 years and sold over a million reptiles. You would think they would know better than to ship a live animal in such harsh conditions. And when my daughter asked for a refund, they refused! Can you believe that? They took her money and didn't even offer to make things right.

I am beyond disappointed with Big Apple Herp. Their customer service is terrible and they clearly don't care about the well-being of the animals they sell. I hope they enjoy the $135 they stole from my daughter because I will never recommend them to anyone.

Big Apple Pet Supply Terrible Experience with BigAppleHerp: Wrong Lizard, Poor Customer Service, No Refund Offered

I recently had an experience with BigAppleHerp and it was not a good one. I ordered a specific type of lizard, but when my package arrived, they had sent me the wrong one. I was so frustrated because I had to take five pictures of the lizards and keep taking them out of the box, which was really stressful for them. I felt so bad for them, but I had to keep taking pictures until I got the right one.

The customer service was not helpful at all. They were really rude to me and acted like they didn't care about my situation. They were just sitting behind their computer screens, typing away like keyboard warriors. They didn't even try to make things right or offer me a refund.

To make matters worse, they sent me a random gecko instead of the one I ordered. I was so disappointed because I had been looking forward to getting the one I wanted. When I asked for a refund, they refused because I wouldn't take my other lizards out of the box to take yet another picture of this mystery gecko. I was so frustrated and upset.

I ended up dropping one of the lizards and it got an awful spot on it. I felt so bad for it and wished I had never ordered from BigAppleHerp. I would not recommend buying from them. You can find much better geckos at Petsmart for $20-30. Don't waste your time or money on BigAppleHerp.

I had to rephrase my questions multiple times, and even then, the answers I received were vague and unhelpful. When I asked for clarification, the agent started using capital letters and sarcastic phrases like "again, like I said" which made me feel like they thought I was stupid.

I was really disappointed by this experience. I had heard good things about BigAppleHerp and was excited to potentially purchase a gecko from them. But after this interaction, I don't think I'll be doing business with them. It's a shame, because I was really looking forward to adding a new pet to my collection.

Big Apple Pet Supply Terrible Experience with BigAppleHerp: Dead Snake and Rude Customer Service

So, I gotta say, my experience with BigAppleHerp was not great. I mean, I ordered a snake from them and it arrived dead. Dead! And not only that, but when I tried to get in touch with their customer service, they were super rude and unhelpful. They even accused me and my kid of trying to scam them! Can you believe that?

I ended up leaving a review on a bunch of different websites, including the Better Business Bureau, and even then, they still didn't seem to care. It's like they don't value their customers at all.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend buying anything from this company or any of their affiliates. It's just not worth the risk. And if you do decide to take the chance, make sure you're prepared for the worst. I mean, I had to deal with a dead snake and a bunch of unnecessary drama. It was not a good time.

Oh, and just to give you an idea of how bad it was, after the snake died, we measured it and it was 31 inches long. I even added a photo of it to my review, but I had to make sure my kid didn't see it. He used to check on the snake every morning when he woke up, and I didn't want him to see it belly up like that.

Anyway, long story short, BigAppleHerp is a terrible company with terrible customer service. Avoid them at all costs.

Big Apple Pet Supply Disappointing Experience with BigAppleHerp: Two Snakes Passed Away Within Months

I bought two snakes from BigAppleHerp and I have to say, I was pretty disappointed with my experience. The first snake I got was a California King snake, but unfortunately it was a runt and only survived for 9 months before passing away. It was really sad to see it go so soon, especially since I was hoping to have it for a lot longer.

The second snake I got was a caramel corn snake, but it was in really bad shape when I received it. It was extremely skinny and didn't seem to have much of an appetite. It was also missing some scales, which was a bit concerning. I tried to take care of it as best I could, but unfortunately it only lasted for 4 months before passing away as well.

I did everything I could to try and keep the corn snake alive, including force feeding it and even giving it half of a small pinky, but it just didn't seem to want to eat. It was really frustrating to see it waste away like that, especially since I was hoping to have it as a pet for a long time.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend BigAppleHerp based on my experience. The snakes I received were not in great condition, and it was really disappointing to see them pass away so soon. If you're looking for a reliable place to buy snakes, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Big Apple Pet Supply Disappointing Experience with BigAppleHerp: Low Quality Reptiles and Poor Customer Service

I recently purchased a salfin dragon from BigAppleHerp and unfortunately, it was not in good condition upon arrival. The reptile was extremely cold and barely moving. It also refused to eat and was even pooping blood. I immediately contacted the company to inform them of the situation, but they didn't seem to care about the low quality of their reptiles. They simply told me that I had lost my $200 and that was that. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed with their poor customer service and will not be ordering from them again.

To make matters worse, I also ordered a blue iguana from them and it wasn't healthy looking either. I think I may have even received a green iguana instead of the blue one I ordered, but when I notified them, they didn't seem to care. I ended up wasting $500 altogether on these low quality reptiles.

My advice to anyone considering purchasing from BigAppleHerp is to go with a better quality reptile company. Don't waste your money on their low quality animals and poor customer service. I wish I had done more research before making my purchase, but now I know better. Good luck to anyone else considering buying from them.

Big Apple Pet Supply Misled by BigAppleHerp: Received a Female Turtle Instead of an Adult Male Turtle and Found Dead in Pond

I recently made a purchase from BigAppleHerp for an adult male European Pond Turtle. I was so excited to receive my new pet and couldn't wait to welcome him into my home. However, when I received the turtle, I was surprised to find out that it was actually a female. I immediately took a photo of the cloaca/tail area and sent it to the company to show them the difference between male and female turtles.

To my surprise, they insisted that the turtle was a male and that their "guy with 22 years experience" confirmed it. I was a bit confused because the tail of the turtle was not as muscular as a male's tail should be, and the cloaca was not in the right position. I tried to explain this to them, but they kept insisting that it was a male. They even cited their disclaimer that "sexing" of turtles is not guaranteed.

I was disappointed because I specifically ordered an adult male turtle, and now I had a female turtle that was gravid with eggs. I could palpate the eggs and ovaries, which confirmed the gender of the turtle. I felt like I was misled by the company, and I was not happy with the way they handled the situation.

Unfortunately, my experience with BigAppleHerp did not end well. The turtle that I received was found dead in my pond just three days after delivery. I was devastated and didn't know what could have caused this. I decided to dissect the turtle to see if I could find any clues as to what happened.

To my surprise, I found eggs and ovaries in the turtle, which confirmed that it was indeed a female. I was even more disappointed because I felt like the company should have been more transparent about the gender of the turtle. If they had been honest with me from the beginning, I could have made a more informed decision about whether or not to purchase the turtle.

Overall, my experience with BigAppleHerp was not a good one. I felt like I was misled and that the company did not take responsibility for their mistake. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking to purchase a pet turtle.

Big Apple Pet Supply Disappointing Experience with BigAppleHerp: Unhealthy Reptiles and Poor Customer Service

I was disappointed with the way BigAppleHerp handled my situation. Although they were kind before the purchase, they turned into an evil seller after the problem arose. I purchased four Leopard Geckos from them on March 8, 2021, and the package arrived the next day. However, when I opened the package, I found one of the leopard geckos without any insulation, which was concerning. Additionally, one of the four Leopard Geckos appeared to be in very poor health.

I assumed that the poor health was due to stress from the long flight, so I took intensive care of the gecko in a warm Vivarium. However, that night, I checked on the Leopard Gecko, and it was struggling to move around. It was midnight, and I couldn't take it to the vet, so I had to watch over it without sleeping. Unfortunately, the gecko couldn't last a few hours and died. I sent a picture of the dead gecko to the seller at dawn, but there was no response. I sent another text in the morning with a picture, and finally, I received a response only when I threatened to open a dispute.

Overall, I was disappointed with the way BigAppleHerp handled my situation. They sold me unhealthy reptiles, and when I reached out to them, they were unresponsive until I threatened to open a dispute. I would not recommend this seller to anyone looking to purchase reptiles.

up before shipping. Also, the website is confusing and hard to navigate. I had trouble finding what I needed and ended up buying from a different site. The prices are also a bit high compared to other pet supply stores. Overall, not impressed with Big Apple Pet Supply Inc.

Sent me a sick gecko. Bruised, blind, mouth rot skinny, and had a respiratory infection.No help from Steven the customer service/sales guy. I sent pictures they claimed there's nothing wrong. Sent more pictures they said they are too blurry. Get new glasses Steven. No new lizard no refund no bueno!
