Getting my registration and licence papers from Bigboy Boksburg
I have been waiting 4 days since Monday 6 March 23 for licence and registration papers from Bigboy Boksburg. On Monday and Tuesday they forgot to send to licence department, don't know what happened on Wednesday and today on Thursday they advice me the people doing their licenses are closed. It's costing me R260 a day using uber to get to work. Service from day one was very unfriendly and unprofessional.
Desired outcome: I just need my registration and licence that I paid a huge fee for.
Big boy, rct 150 (dotted) battery issue and other faults.
I've sent an email to info@jonway.co.za on 20 January 2021 at 18:58pm from the email [protected]@gmail.com stating my faults of the scooter.
This is the email that i've sent: "Re: BIG BOY, RCT 150 (Dotted), 157QMJ200290233 (Engine number)
On 08 August 2020, I purchased a brand new BIG BOY, RCT 150 (Dotted), 157QMJ200290233 (Engine number) Scooter from Big Boy Cape Town (Salt River Branch - Marko) and paid R19 598.00 cash for the Scooter, helmet and registration. Upon driving the Scooter, I discovered that there was an endless list of issues (See timeline of events attached). I am very disappointed and shocked by what happened and I find the situation very irritating and interfering with my work (as I have been in and out of the workshops to have the endless list of issues fixed, AT MY EXPENSE). New Scooters simply don't have this many problems from the get-go?
See attached (01st attachment) - Timeline of events.
While I do understand that manufacturing errors do happen, still I can't comprehend the fact that the Scooter was not tested before handover. This is not the type of product I would have expected from a manufacturer of your size and reputation.
I demand replacement of the scooter (Tested by the manufacturer and only by Big Boy Goodwood), as well as compensation for the waste of my time and money.
Enclosed with this letter are email correspondence as well as Whatsapp messages exchanged between the Goodwood Branch Manager (Kurt) and Salt River Branch and I regarding the issues relating to the Scooter. Kindly also note that the Scooter was bought at the Salt River, Cape Town branch, however after being met with a lot of hostility when complaining about all the faults on the Scooter, I moved over to the Goodwood Cape Town branch as they were more helpful and willing to assist with the issues on the Scooter.
I look forward to settling this matter amicably. If, however, the matter is not satisfactorily resolved ASAP, I will consider taking further action to resolve the complaint either through Consumer Protection or through the courts."
Desired outcome: A new scooter.
Faulty scooter
I bought a Big Boy Scooter about two years ago at the Big Boy, Fleurdal in Bloemfontein. In spite of numerous times taking the bike back for repairs it still keeps on breaking. Services are done as prescribed but it just would have another problem next time. The last fault was a belt that they replaced but this broke within a month after being replaced. Just to hear that they used a cheap replacement as they could not find a branded one and off course charged us accordingly. Seriously!
I have no confidence in this scooter (and or the service center) as you don't know if you will reach your destination when you get on it.
All I want is for this scooter to fixed and mobile.
Please help as I am dependable on this scooter.

brand new bike falling apart
on the 25th October 2013, i bought a "brand new" big boy scooter cgl 150, only to find out that the bike i bought was starting to fall apart, i laid a complaint with the big boy company who in turn told me that they would see into the matter, but only got back with a message of i need to sort it out with the dealer. while laying the complaint, and sending them pictures of proof that parts are even broken, i received nothing back from the dealer, only emails from the company to show how the dealer was lying just to cover his own butt, after 2 months, i have not heard one thing from the company or the dealer, i demanded that after all that i have been put through that they give me a better bike, which the dealer sent a response to the company to say that if he wants a better bike he can gladly come and purchase it, i mean this is stupid, you sell a bike that turn out is dangerous to the driver and you just want to cover your butt. i returned an email to big boy themselves and now my email wont go through to them, what the hell? i need a solution here not more problems. so when am i going to get anything back about this?
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
From day one this scooters have either broken or fallen apart
From day one this scooters have either broken or fallen apart! day one the double stand fell off, wonder who did the pdi? from that til now from the stand to the calipers fell off, it cut out on me and stood 2weeks, the belt snapped and the whole clutch buggerd it stood for 3months by then?! now the studs that holds the whole engine barrels and gbox together broke and ********** the whole engine, and concidering it stood broken about 5months out of the 13months i had it? now i must still pay for damages and engine repair for a thing thats been more broken than fixed.
Stay away
Nuts were loose that were suppose to be checked according to the warranty book.
They blamed Bog Boy Centurion cause they serviced my bike. Not their fault as I stood there watching them change the oil, had nothing to do with the faring screws that were loose or back sprocket that broke. As not one of the 4 nuts were torqued.
Head office says its my fault as I must check every nut and bolt on the bike every time before I ride. So they will not replace anything under the warranty. Its been almost a month and still no response from anyone with parts for the bike. These people sell cr AT p people, DON'T buy these bikes or scooters! They fall apart while your riding, tires have no grip, chains stretch for nothing, and today my brakes locked up solid while riding. Suppose that is my fault to some how. I have also been stopped by 4 people asking me about the bike and the problems they are experiencing if I am experiencing the same.
JUST STAY AWAY FROM THIS RUBBISH I BEG OF YOU!
i got my crf160 back today.. after a week.. my girlfriend wants to learn to ride a bike.. no problem as to a cheap bike would be a good way to go for her as i went to get a second hand.. i rebuilt it on dec.. had to do it myself coz the dealer told me he wont this and that.. cool.. your loss as i had money to spend.. ordered parts.. as head ofice has nothing of my consern.. no oil filter.. no shocks.. no brake shoes.. the bike is not safe.. so had them tweak the brakes.. and the brakes did not work.. they got the front brakes working.. not to my satisfation.. they couldav left them.. the so called wheel trueing that they brag about on the web site is a load of bull.. as the guy told me they need a machine.. not my problem.. trued the back wheel myself.. they couldnt do the front.. striped 5 spoke nuts.. great stuff.. as they wont replace it.. fd up the petrol tank as that had nothing to do with what i asked for in the first place.. had a full tank of gas for them as i know they would be testing the bike.. got it back with no gas.. i think.. overall.. i dont know why they even bother to have the doors open
I am shocked.. Disgusted.. Actually I would not even think.. That I paid for this.. no service.. no parts.. a guy from malawi.. with no machanical experiece could fix minor problems on a Big S### bike.. than a qaulified competent machanic working at big boy.. seriously.. #### you guys aspecialy big boy gezina.. thanks for ####ol!
I totally agree.
I am a sucker who bought an SRT250, and all I have had are issues. From bad manufacturing defects and assembly to incompetent mechanics, I am stuck with a bad taste in my mouth, and consider myself bike-less. After taking delivery of the bike, I proceeded to check all the bolts and nuts myself and I was shocked. Loose engine mount, fork plastics, gear shifter and even broken plastics. With my first service, the broken rear fender was replaced, water pump and sticker kit as it was coming off. I got the bike back after two weeks after I was told it would take 3 days. Half the stuff I listed weren't fixed including the chain tension, a very basic service adjustment. There are still plenty more issues that either I have fixed our are still present and the bike isn't running at the moment. The worst money I ever spent.
