I phoned Booksi on November 17, 2023 to schedule an advertised rate of $499 to stay at the Secrets Bahia Mita Surf & Spa Resort from March 5 to 10, 2025. I called twice around that time to do the required confirmation and was told it was too early and they did not have the ability to book that far in advance. Then I called them on April 6, 2024 and I was told that the price had more than doubled. I explained that it was still being advertised that day at $499 (I have attached proof of this advertised price on April 6, 2024). This fellow said he would need to talk to his supervisor, Alejandra. He sent me an email saying that this price would not be honored. I called Alejandra on April 13 at 12 pm MST and she told me she would need to check with the Operations Team and she would phone me back on April 19. She never did so. I tried calling her again on April 30 and was told she was away for a couple of days and she would call me upon her return. This morning, I find the email that says they are reimbursing me for the original amount I had paid for the accommodation. In other words, Booksi is not honoring the advertised price for their trip. This is false advertising, and it is illegal and poor business practice as well.
Desired outcome: Now that they have failed to live up to their advertised price and have failed to communicate with me, this is very unprofessional. I believe they should cover the cost and see this as an act of goodwill and legal obligation.
