bosch refused to take malfunctioning machine
I purchase Bosch washer and dryer a week ago. The washer does not spin properly, thus the clothes are almost wet. The dryer does not dry everything especially the seam and pockets on the pants. You cannot dry wash clothes and towels together because only items close to the sense will dry. I would like to return this equipment for exchange or refund but the company that i bough from and Bosch have refused to accept the claiming that "they have Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval. No other compact laundry pair has this award. The machines should give you many, many years of trouble free service". My questions if they believe that highly on their product how come they cannot accept them once a customer is dissatisfied?

hob pan support
After just 2 years the paint of the cast iron hob pan support weared off and is corroding. The arrogant local agent said its just wear and tare . I submited a customer complaint on the bosch website but they didn t even acknowledged my complaint... I swear No more Bosch products in my life. .. Expensive appliances with Poor quality and No customer service.

bad service
If you have been as unfortunate as me to call Bosch appliances' customer service department, you will know that they do not provide any level of customer service. More specifically they:
1. never answer the phone, but rather transfer you directly to a hold queue with music.
2. after waiting up to 30 mins in the hold queue, no one ever answers the phone and yet, they end the call without any recorded or human explanation.
This seems almost impossibly true, but it is. I can not contemplate how a company can do this, and wonder if after exposing this type of non-service, if anyone in the company will do anything about it.
At least I hope that other consumers will see this and be discourage from purchasing their products knowing there is no manufacturer support behind them.

On 1/6/09, we purchased a Bosch Nexxt 800 Series Washer from our local Lowe's.
On 1/7/09, we went back to Lowe's to pickup the washer that we purchased the day before. After two Lowe's workers loaded it into our truck we then noticed two of the leveling legs on the bottom of the washer were damaged. We then checked with Customer Service to see if any other legs could be found. Unfortunately, the ones we were shown would not fit.. So we were told to contact the Lowe's Service Advantage.
On our call to Lowe's Service Advantage we were transferred to a Bosch specialist named Johanna. She wanted to know the part number and said that a Service call would need to be done. We gave her our email address for the parts list to be emailed to us. We said that a Service Call would not be needed since they are screw in legs that we can do ourselves.
After receiving the email we then spoke with Vince of Bosch on 1/7/09 with the part number. He told us that we would have to pay $4 for each leg. And he said that we would have to "Take the washer back to where we purchased it".
We then asked for his supervisor which he said that we would have to call back the next day for the supervisor.
We then called Lowe's just after hanging up with Vince from Bosch and told the store manager what we were told to either pay for the legs, it would need to be a service call or that we should return the washer to where we bought it. He then asked for our phone number and would call us back. He called us back and said that they took the legs off of another Bosch Washer for us.
Bosch may get a high rating for the products, but if we had known what a problem it would be to deal with the Bosch specialists we "Would Not Have Bought a Bosch Washer". They don't deserve a good rating for customer service.
As of today, 1/14/09, I have "not received any word regarding our problem from Bosch."
We chose this product during our remodel for several reasons: the Bosch name; the graceful look; the powerful exhaust. It IS all of those things with a fatal flaw... a "plastic finned" exhaust wheel. For the price you pay this part should be metal.
Within the first year of use it has required 3 new exhaust wheels and one new motor. I'm not sure why the motor (maybe out of balance?) but we purchased it at Lowe's and had the extra warranty so the local guys did the repair. It always starts with a snapping sound. I believe it's the sound of one of those "fins" in the wheel breaking. Then it's out of balance and shakes like it will take the wall with it.
The bummer is it takes up to 6 weeks for repair. The longest extended time we've been able to use this appliance is 2 months.
replacement control panel voluntary recall
the control panel is being voluntarily recalled on dishwasher model SHU43C02UC. I requested my replacement panel on 2/13. it is 3/2/09 no panel yet I have been calling bosch at [protected] for 50 minutes this morning they have disconnected me when they could not find my request or A number in the computer. I am still on hold for enrice I spoke to...

We purchased a Bosch Dishwasher(shu43c02uc) in August 2006. Now 6 months after the warranty runs out on it the main motor is out! Bosch has the motor for $150 but was able to find it for$90 on EBay. Being the DIYers we are tried to fix it but they have changed the motor slightly and was concerned about burning up the new motor with the wiring change. We contacted a "Bosch" service rep in the area and minimum $200 to repair. We contacted Bosch also and they are not willing to help!
This is an email response that we received from them:
Thank you for your e-mail and we sincerely apologize for the lengthy delay in response to your inquiry. We are very sorry to hear of the trouble you're having with your Bosch dishwasher. Although we certainly understand that it can be frustrating whenever a major appliance requires repair, parts may fail from time to time and require repair/replacement for the continued operation of the unit. While we regret that your unit needed to have service we appreciate you taking the time to let us know of your experience and for allowing us the opportunity to respond.
Regards,
Tiffanie
Bosch Customer Correspondence
We now own a Whirlpool and will never own a Bosch appliance again!

HOLY CRAP, WE HAVE THE SAME DISHWASHER, BUT OWNED IT SINCE OCTOBER OF 2004 AND WE NOW HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THE MAIN MOTOR IS OUT. WE DID HAVE THE RECALL FIXED WHICH WAS THE CONTROL MODULE REPLACED. OH WELL THE MOTOR IS OUT WE WILL HAVE IT REPLACED, CAUSE WE LOVE BOSCH APPLIANCES AND POOP HAPPENS, NOTHING LAST FOREVER ESPECIALLY APPLIANCES WE USE OFTEN.
LOL did you read the other complaints about the recall for the control module, your dishwasher probably had a recall and would have gotten fixed for free.
bosch dishwasher fails again
Bosch dishwasher model SHU5315UC - failed again. I paid $900 for this dishwasher and shortly after the warranty expired, it failed. It cost $250 to have it repaired. A few years later, it failed again with the same failure. Another $250 to repair it. I could have bought 5 Sears Kenmore dishwashers for the amount I paid for this one dishwasher. From my experience they would last 10 to 12 years. Instead, I keep having to have this one repaired. It is only eight years old. I thought German manufacturing was better than that. I'll never buy another Bosch appliance.

Since purchasing a top of the line Bosch Dishwasher I have had to replace the control panel and three drain pumps. I have received absolutely zero help from both Bosch and the store I purchased it from, Appliance Plus located in Murrells Inlet, SC. I have sunk over $300.00 in repairs so far and if I choose to have it repaired once again it will cost another $150.00. I think my only solution will be to purchase another brand. Take my advice and stay away from any Bosch Appliance as they are not as good as the claim and they do not stand behind their products.
I purchased Bosch because I wanted something of high quality and efficiency. Why doesn't the inside vent on the drier come out for cleaning? I'm not talking about the standard removable lint filter but the vent inside that intakes the lint. It's always full and a vacuum hose nor hand can fit inside to clean it out! Some simple screws or pop out clips would solve this problem. I was going to purchase a Bosch dishwasher but am now afraid of what I will find out after using it. I payed more money for Bosch compared to other brands expecting exceptional quality. Now I am reconsidering purchasing other appliances. What can I do about my drier lint problem?
Sent this to bosch today:
I have never been treated so badly in my life. I don't think you know what your customer svc reps are doing. I have been manipulated, lied to, stonewalled and more. I had an aquastar 1600h-ng installed by a licensed, qualified, experienced plumber and my unit does not work. Your techs had me dis-assemble part of my tankless water heater. We found parts that were installed incorrectly but that did not solve the problem. He had me dis-assemble another component and then I was mysteriously disconnected. I think he didn't know what to do and didn't want to process my case. I know he had my number because I had established that with him and asked him to call me back if we got disconnected. He did not call me back and I was left with a dis-assembled unit. After I got through being on hold again for 20 minutes the next tech told me the 1st tech tried to call but my line was busy. He was lying. I had my phone in my hand while waiting for him to call me. I was further instructed by another tech to re-assemble that component and then remove another component which I did. Then the tech had me operate the unit without a safety guard in place and flames shot out and burned my eyebrows. He blamed me for standing too close to the unit. I finally asked for a supervisor and the tech started arguing with me. He said a supervisor wasn't going to tell me anything different than what he was telling me. I had to really fight to get a word in while he talked over top of me. He finally said that a supervisor would have to call me back and if course I haven't heard a thing. I don't expect I will. I have been on the phone for hours. I am not exaggerating. Yesterday I paid a licensed plumber 85.00 per hour to troubleshoot my unit under the directions of a bosch tech. Why should I have to repair anything bosch makes when it doesn't work right out of the box? Your techs will not tag this unit as defective so that I can exchange it. The wholesaler I bought it from refuses to let me return the unit unless I pay a 20% restocking fee because bosch says the unit is functional. It is not only defective, it is a safety issue. Do you know the liability you would incur if someone died in a house fire because of this unit? This unit is installed properly in every way. You are bosch! You are a world class company. Tell me someone there knows this is wrong.
We have, or should I say had, a Bosch GSA900E sabre saw. It was approx 6 months old when it developed a fault and wouldn't work.
We called the Bosch Repair Centre, who promises a swift and competent service, our experience proves it is anything but. They collected the broken saw from us, taking it away to fix it.
After approx 5 weeks we had heard nothing and they hadn't returned our saw, so we contacted them. After a while on the phone they advised us that they had redelivered our saw approximately 2 weeks earlier.
After a few more calls to them, and subsequent emails, we explained that we hadn't received it, but they produced a signed POD (delivery docket) signed by someone we had never heard of... they stated that "as this has been signed for there is no further action we can take."
The POD did have our correct name and address on the docket, however the name signed on it is no-one we know and certainly is not the name on the docket.
Use their "collect and return" service centre at your peril, they will collect, but who they return to seems to be a guess.
After only a few years (three) of service, our Bosch stainless steel dishwasher suffers from broken door parts. They are very small pieces of plastic that hold the handle and door together. We have called Bosch customer service, and while the representatives know what part we need, they will not tell us the part number. In addition, they tell us there is nothing in printed or downloadable format that will tell us how to replace the part, if we buy a replacement. No instructions come with the part and the only way to learn how to make the repair ourselves is to have a service technician come to the home, at their standard rates, and tell us how to make the repair. We will never buy another Bosch product, since their customer service is pure fiction - You are at the mercy of their expensive technicians if ever anything breaks!
This is the worst appliance I have purchased. It does not clean my dishes unless I prewash completely. It does not dry them so I have to wipe everything off before I store the dishes. And it's not even quiet... you would think that since it doesn't do anything it should not make a sound! When I wrote to their office nothing happened. No one returned my letter, no one sent a message that I could adjust this or that... terrible customer service.
We have a Bosch dishwasher and we are very pleased with it, so ten months ago we needed to replace our washer and dryer and decided to purchase a Bosch NeXXt washer and dryer. The washer is great and we have no issues with it.
The dryer, however, has been and continues to be nothing but trouble. There is no heat setting that works as intended. Either the clothes are cooked or not dry. After 7 horrible months and 6 different repairs Bosch finally agreed to take the dryer back and give us a new one. With our hopes up, we tried the new dryer and it was the same thing. We are so upset about essentially losing this one thousand dollars we paid for this machine. And this is bad enough, but the clothes that get cooked are ruined. If you don't grab them before the wrinkles are permanently set, you cannot get them out. How I long for my old dryer, where I could tumble them and keep them from being wrinkled. Now, we must hang things up still wet and most times iron them before wearing. With this dryer we have certainly gone backwards. This summer I'm going to see if we can put up a clothesline. Not only does this dryer do the worst job EVER, but laundry day has now become a babysitting chore. We both work, and don't have time to devote constant attention to laundry, but that's what we must do now. If I could sue them for my money back I would. I will NEVER buy another Bosch product as long as I live.
Product was defective right out of the box but their techs had me take it apart several times today to look for problems. Why am I working on a product when it is brand new? Had me run the water heater burner without the safety sheild in place - - flame shot out, it burned me and then they blamed me for standing too close to the appliance! They refuse to declare it defective and I can't get a refund. Lied to me, disconnected me, stonewalled me. Worst company I have ever dealt with. ever, ever, ever. DO NOT BUY FROM BOSCH.
dishwasher very noisy, poor quality
We've had ours for 4 years now, working day and night (4 kids) with no troubles.
dishwasher caught fire
We had a 10 year old Bosch dishwaser we think model #(SHU3336Uc/U06) that caught fire and almost burnt down our house - I mean this thing completely burnt our kitchen cabinets and granite countertop.
Anyone else know about any recalls on his model or had a similar experience (I really hope no one else did).
Thanks Ken
We have the same model SHU3336UC, and same age (10 yrs)...we noticed a burning smell but fortunately no fire. Going to replace it today, not a Bosch this time.
We just had a Bosch fire incident - Model SHU33A02UC. Fire department said the motor was burning up. Machine was just over 2 years old. Out the door it goes, I won't have it repaired.
delay in replacing appliance under warranty
We purchased a Bosch Evolution side by side refrigerator which had limited cooling ability and poor volume of ice manufactured in freezer. After contacting one of Bosch's recommended repair centers and 3 repair visits, it was determined the 3 month old refrigerator/freezer would need to be placed. Bosch was contacted by customer and repair company and order was processed to replace appliance. 5 days after Bosch started paperwork and assigned an order number, the appliance is not been shipped with no confirmed shipping date available from manufacturer's customer service staff. Customer service manager refused to speak with us. Customer service agent stated this was the quickest they had seen an order processed (5 days with deliver estimated another week). The customer service agent also told us that they have "so many calls" on Monday or Tuesday, their volume of customer's needs was what most likely delayed the process. We will be without a refrigerator for over 3 weeks by the time we receive the replacement!
We purchased a new Bosch Evolution nine months ago. The ice maker water valve has failed and been replaced by an authorized repairman four times. Each time, the new valve failed within two weeks. Bosch honored the warranty to replace the valve each time but has refused to talk about replacing the unit. They have attempted to say the defect is caused by excessive water pressure (we have city water service and had no problems with our previous Kenmore icemaker) and instructed the service repairman to test for water pressure. His reading was 70 psi and the valve is rated for 120 psi. He installed a new valve which failed within two days and has now been broken for more than three weeks. Now, after nine months, four repair visits and a buckled hardwood floor from repeated water damage, Bosch is saying they recommend a water pressure reduction valve for 40 psi (not written in installation specifications and far lower than valve is rated for) and they refuse to pay for that service call.
We purchased all of our kitchen appliances from Bosch as a package. We have been without an icemaker for most of the nine months we've had the refrigerator. We have made endless phone calls over the past six months and have been told repeatedly that "someone will call you back". They never do and when we call again we have to start the whole process with a new customer service person. We have tried repeatedly to get the name of a supervisor with decision-making authority and are told "a supervisor will call you". Of course, nobody ever does. Bosch's customer service division is unprofessional beyond words and is an embarrassment to the company. We have been more than patient as Bosch worked through their "reasonable effort to repair the problem", still have no resolution and have been unable to get a commitment for replacement of the unit. As we have told Bosch, all we want is a refrigerator that works.
At this point, Bosch is clearly in violation of their warranty and I would not recommend purchase of a Bosch appliance under any circumstances. Their reputation for quality is seriously compromised by their refusal to stand by the product when there is a problem. After spending $4500 on Bosch appliances, we have lost countless hours and been treated poorly seeking resolution with Bosch...and all we want is a refrigerator that works.
scam and cheating
Had the bosch dishwasher unit 1 week - it positively will not dry dishes no matter how much drying solution you put in the thing. Had the unit 2 years and the heating element broke. They wanted $400 to replace it. I'll just go purchase a new and better dishwasher for that price. If you are listening... Never buy a bosch!

only their service is worse then quality of their products
We have been fighting with the Bosch rep here in Washington for over four months now. We have a Bosch dishwasher that is only two years old and even prewashing will not guarantee that the dishes will come out clean. We have put over three hundred dollars into this machine and still it won't work. You could not give me another one of these dishwashers and the service from Bosch is the only thing worse than the dishwasher. They won't come clean... just like the dishes in a Bosch dishwasher.

terrible quality products
Don't buy Bosch Nexxt Premium dryer. It doesn't tumble correctly, so my sheets don't get dry. And, the BOSCH technician actually told me to wash my fitted and flat sheet separately... two separate cycles. So I bought an efficient washer and dryer that was supposed to save on energy, and now the company-BOSCH itself--is telling me to run it for two cycles instead of one... all because it is designed with flaws! I think this is unbelievable! I don't know how their appliances get good energy efficient ratings. No thanks! I'll take my Maytag Neptune over Bosch anyday!

shattered glass in oven door
I bought my Gaggenau 290 convection/conventional oven about 2 1/2 years ago and recently the interior window on the oven door shattered into a thousands of tiny pieces. The oven was preheating at a temp of 375 at the time, the door was closed and the oven had been on for about 10 minutes. When I went to the oven to open the door I saw that it had shattered sometime in the previous ten minutes. There are no children in our household and my husband and I are very careful with our appliances. We did nothing that would have caused this to happen. We use the oven frequently and there were no visible signs of cracking or other problems prior to this. No one had ever repaired or done anything to the oven except install it when it was brand new.
I felt that Gaggenau should replace the glass at their expense even though it was out of warranty because there this was a major manufacturing defect and was not caused by my action nor was the door worn from over use. While the service technician was here we called Gaggenau so he could confirm that there was no damage to the door other than this shattered interior window. He said that it looked like that one of the screws that held the window in place had been over tightened during assembly of the door because the cracking had appeared to start from there.
Gaggenau refused to pay for a new window for this relatively new oven because it was out of warranty. I believe this is a manufacturing defect that was not caught on QA, if they do QA and they should pay for it.
dishwasher started on fire
Our 4-5 year old Bosch dishwasher caught on fire. Two smoke alarms started chirping about the same time. Going into the kitchen I found foot high flames coming from the selector buttons. I put the fire out myself and other than the dishwasher having a hole the size of a baseball burnt in the door, the counter had a little charring on its underside. If we'd not been home, the house would have burned down. Thank God, we had smoke alarms that alerted us to the problem. Who'd of thought a dishwasher catching on fire? Be careful when you run these things.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I had the exact experience! Luckily my insurance company paid for the damage, and THEY are going after Bosch. Just 4 days after our fire, Bosch issued a recall. Seems there have been 51 "incidents" and 30 fires! The only thing insurance did not cover was the dishwasher, so I went to Bosch for reimbursement. HA! Their offer? They would be happy to TAKE $350 from me for another dishwasher. Their choice of model. Which isn't made in my color. I declined. Now I'm not sure I would even take one for free!
Bad company. Spread the word!
I had the same thing happen to me. Good thing I was close by. At the time Bosch told me the machine was out of warranty and to have someone fix it (at my expense). How do you fix a melted machine that reeks of smoke? What recourse do the 60 or so people with fires have, a class action suit? Should we at least get a total refund for the machine.
dishwasher - shu 5300
Our Bosch dishwasher was purchased by the previous homeowner only three years ago. It has messed up now. It takes hours to complete the cycle and obviously isn't working correctly. I checked and this seems to be a very common problem with this particular model. I have talked to the customer service people at Bosch and they will only pay for a new circuit board - not labor. I can buy a new dishwasher for what we would spend in labor on a dishwasher that is obviously defective.
A company making high end products such as this should stand behind the products. When a large number of people have the exact same problem with the same model, obviously there is a problem with that model. Bosch should correct the problem at their expense.
Companies producing cheaper models stand behind their products better than Bosch.
We too have the Bosch SHU... and are not pleased. Have just discovered there is a recall on SEVERAL Bosch dishwashers. Our dishwasher model supposedly isn't on the list, but it has burned TWICE internally. You can smell it and see the smoke! Didn't know there was a recall until Feb 18, 2009. SPREAD THE WORD - THERE IS A RECALL !
no rebate received
Mailed in rebate June 19th and still waiting for rebate. When I call they tell me it was mailed on the 20th of july every time i call they tell me the same thing i think they are not holding up their end of their bargain I bought the stove and like I stated mailed in the rebate form but still waiting for my $50 dollar check.
nobody wants to fix it!
Bosch WFR 2460IC washing machine purchased 10-06-03 along with GE Extended warranty. As you can see from the attached picture the paint is peeling off the front of the washer. Bosch send a letter stating that "since I purchased an extended warranty, Bosch is not required to fix the problem..The service company GE Warranty sent out said the problem was caused by a defective detergent tray that leaked onto the front of the washer. GE warranty department states that since this is a "cosmetic" problem they are not required to repair or replace the washer.

Purchased 10/09/20, nothing but problems:
Condensation & dampness
Never stop even it has reached the temperature, it goes on and on
Engineers been, reported no faults
Now recently 4 times light in the fridge compartment goes off and bleeping. I have to turn off the light switch and switch on again and have to put the temp to -24c.
My Bosch dishwasher stays on "Auto" and won't start washing. I called your customer service line and was placed on hold for 25 minutes. Before I contact the BBB complaint dept., give me some suggestions.
I bought one Washing Machine in China. The machine was tested by a few clothes and the clothes was broken. I wanted to return the machine and get my payment back. But my request was refused.
The washing machine was bougtht in Dec. 2022. And the return was requested at Dec.14 2022 in China.
hiya I returned a sander in June under warrantee and since then have had a constant litany of excuses as to why they are unable to send a replacement sander.
always next month, out of stock - how can they not have their own product - since June
I ordered a 48” stove with double over twenty months ago! Each month they keep emailing me and telling me that it’ll be another month. Don’t believe what they say any longer. I’ve been living in my house for seven months now cooking on a hot plate. When is this ever going to end. I’m tired of the excuses can you please help me
