Canadian Tire - My disappointment regarding the recent experience I had with bill wright (automotive service manager) at Shawnessy Canadian Tire.

On 11 March 2024, I had the misfortune of interacting with Bill on my car inspection certificate. I was asking if he could re-issue a new certificate as the one I got on 26 February showed obvious manual correction by the Mechanic. It was not accepted by Uber. However, he refused to do so and he proved himself by saying he could verify the certificate with the Calgary Livery Transportation services and it would be disqualified if it was not approved. I explained again the certificate was already approved by Calgary Livery Transportation Services but not Uber because of the correction and I was told by Uber to come to Canadian Tire to re-issue the paper. Then Bill yelled at me and asked me to get out of the shop. I was truly shocked by his rude, dismissive and unprofessional attitude throughout the interaction. I didn’t obtain the assistance I needed, and his threatening words shocked me. It was completely unacceptable that a customer was treated this way when it was the company's fault that i was asking help from.

As a customer, I expected to be treated with respect and professionalism. Unfortunately, Bill failed to deliver on these basic expectations. Ultimately, I paid $45.78 (half price of the original) to get a new car inspection certificate. However, I had a strong feeling that no customer should be subjected to such poor treatment, and I shouldn't be paying this money.

I hereby request a full refund, and an apology from your side on my terrible experience. Please reply as soon as possible at [protected]@gmail.com . Many thanks.

Claimed loss: 45.78

Desired outcome: A full refund and apology will be appreciated.

Canadian Tire - Automotive service department

I went to Canadian Tire tonight because I thought great they are open! Well $225.00 later to change 3 small light bulbs and it took them all of 20 minutes! No more. And to top it off, after a block I stopped to check the lights and one was not working! I went back and in literally 3 minutes he had the harness out and fixed it again! 3 minutes. So how can you possibly justify that price. 50 to 60 dollars would be more than reasonable. I am a well know man at a large plant and believe me the word will be out to NOT go to the Canadian Tire Auto Dept. This was done at Canadian Tire Associate Store 0462, Invoice # [protected]. $225.08 Highway Robbery. My wife will address Tic Toc, Facebook and LinkedIn. You like to put on the persona that you are a "family friendly" place! Well you don't rip off family members! I would have gone to a quick oil change place but my schedule doesn't allow that now so you guys being open late was a Godsent but boy was I wrong! I have spent tons of money over the years on my cars with you guys but never again and anyone else I can reach out to, to spare them pain!

Canadian Tire - Auto department

Lack of professionalism and integrity
Auto department
- Added items not requested.
- Added items I was told about.
- No manager available to help (feeling helpless is awful).
- Holding off the car until I pay in full (although I offered to leave a photocopy of my ID).
- After hard time, portion was dedicated, but I am still paying more than what I was expecting.
- I still have to file a complaint with the related authorities.
