I enjoy KFC Chicken but am limited to my local outlet.
I have never had a positive experience at this location but of particular concern are the past 3 visits over about 6 weeks. I experienced unethical behaviour and/or poor product and service each time. All of the visits in question were drive-through due to regional Covid restrictions precluding my entering the premises.
On the first of the three recent visits, my order was undercooked and extremely soggy with grease.
On the second, I ordered a 6 piece of chicken only and, for a $2 upcharge, I requested at least one keel. I received the keel, but was dismayed to find all 5 of the remaining pieces were drumsticks.
On both of these occasions I also heard the woman in charge screaming at her workers in an extremely unprofessional and abusive manner.
On the third, most recent occasion, we entered the drive-through at 6:00PM with 5 vehicles ahead of us. At 6:45, having only advanced one place, an employee came out and informed everyone in the line past the first two vehicles that they were out of chicken.
When I pressed, he indicated they were closing in 15 minutes anyway. When I pointed out that their website indicated the drive-through was open until 10:00PM, he pointed at a paper taped to the door and said it indicated they were closed at 7:00PM. It was not possible from across the parking lot to see the printed A-4 sized sign and not reasonable to expect anyone entering the drive-through to first pull up, exit their vehicle and check for the possibility of alternate, contradictory hours.
When I pressed further, he admitted they were not out of chicken, but just had no intension of starting another batch 15 minutes before closing.
Upon looking up this location online, I discovered not only that both of the KFC locations in Chilliwack have terrible reviews, but that there is a local meme on Facebook regarding the exceptionally bad service in the form of a satirical invitation for those needing anger management counselling due to a bad break up, unfair dismissal from work or having gone through either of the local KFC drive-throughs.
Desired outcome: Chilliwack's KFC are in need of improvement to their standards of client and employee treatment. The Yale Rd location; desperately so.
