When someone comes for one thing - focus on that ONLY. Threats - you are incompetent; incompetence is not rewarded in Canada - Please, wake up WAKE THE [censored] UP (Please). If you do not know what I am talking about - Ask me to come over; and then we will see - STOP telling me to go somewhere else. SHUT your mouth and listen to the customer; FOCUS on what they are asking you - NOT ON TRYING TO MAKE MONEY out of something else. You can mention them that these repairs are necessary as you have done last year 2020; and I got the parts OEM. That was perfect. Why your services cannot be stable and effective. You are threatening me when you do not fix the truck properly - you are putting my lives and others in danger. DO YOU [censored]ING UNDERSTAND THAT? Do you? It is very serious, TAKE IT SERIOUSLY. This is not about using bad words or good words or feeling threatened. Canadian Tire are putting peoples in danger by not fixing the issue to the perfection unless there are fracks on the frame of the automobile (that is a different story). THINK, THINK DEEPLY. You are truly pissing me OFF seriously with your lame pathetic excuses. I do not think to doubt you after I come to pick up my truck (after the repairs). I need to trust the mechanics to do the job 100% effective, and let me know of any concerns, or issues.

Hans - you are free to do what you like. I would like to see what you are talking about on the rear shocks- you were made clear what was being done to your vehicle? You supplied the parts that were being replaced. So, that tells me you know what was being done to your car and you would have explained everything that was being done to your vehicle.

Your comment: "Why do I need to come 6x times plus from the first visit in September 2021 in regards to something that you should have dealt with from day one; and now again after Saturday; I should come over for how many more days" What are you talking about? You got your brakes done somewhere else and you come to us to reinspect the work from the other shop because of a noise and even said the other shop who did the brakes ripped you off- I think you even wanted us to redo them all over again and I refused and told you to take it back to them. I don't take threats lightly but do what you want.

The mechanic who worked on your car is here on Nov.22 and so am I. So, if you want bring the vehicle in so I can see what you are talking about it.

Good evening Bento, Jonathan

I do not know what you are talking about - if you do not want to fix the issues with my truck which you have damaged - then return the monies that I have to have some other reputable garage to fix it. The cost that you are explanation to me does not make sense. You did not spent 10 hours putting those two item. I asked other garages and their rates (with my parts) does not even equate to what you are charging. Putting the wrong gas shocks is the wrong area does not help.

You break someone's automobile and then mention to protect yourself that the truck is 15 years. What does the 15 years has to do with you not doing the work properly or causing additional issues. I do not get your explanation - your mechanic(s) are not to the level to do the job; nor able to think rationally on where proper parts should be installed. Is it the client/customers' fault? So your logic is that the client is responsible because the automotive is 15 years old? You make no sense. Do you mind to share this with my communities, and the media plus others with the a litigation? What lawyer will help you with those kind of excuses? Let me know..

Why do I need to come 6x times plus from the first visit in September 2021 in regards to something that you should have dealt with from day one; and now again after Saturday; I should come over for how many more days? Return ALL of my monies so that I can have someone fix it properly; and buying the proper gas shocks (which you could have sold me if you realized that the ones that was with the coil was ONLY for the rear shocks, not the rear wheel front frame); but alas - you did not think

You do not abuse, and purge clients of their hard earned money; and discard them as you wish to keep their money - it does not work like this in Canada or any other Countries in the world. There was even a lady complaining about you not pulling her car in even though the bays were empty and she sat for almost two hours. I got their contact information and a few others also. It is strange that you do not listen, and you do not change thinking that you can do as you will. No #@(*(@ way, never - no one will accept this.

Return my money; call me when you are ready to either return my monies; or fix the issues to the fullest. I paid for those parts not to be incorrectly put. And the statement from Rob/Bob (whatever his name) to negotiate on the brake noise (which is still there - sounds like metal grinding); and you stated that your mechanic took the wheal off; and saw the breaks were good (did he check the pads)?

I cannot pay people for stupidity or incompetency - no one does in Canada. If so, tell me whom does this, or accept it? You have two options - choose wisely. What is the e-mail of the owner of this Canadian Tire store - I wish for him to be aware of this before the s#(@) hits the ceiling.

Govern yourselves accordingly

Hans

Subject: Re: (No Subject) (#192-708-11)

Hans I left you a voice message to call me if you would like to discuss this further.

I spoke to you originally about your first visit- Sept.18th. You had brake work done by your other mechanic and I advised you to see them going forward for any brake related repairs- as you would have warranty with them. The part that we double charged you was an error by our system that automatically allocates 2 bearings when the labour code is entered. This was explained to you and you received a refund for that charge. At that time we installed driver side and passenger front quick struts -which you also supplied. We also installed the front sway bar links - also supplied by you. The Passenger side upper control arm had excessive play which we replaced and the driver side rear bearing was replaced. I made it clear to you over the phone prior to your Nov.13th visit to see the shop who did your brakes as I don't want to touch your brakes- I also made this clear on Sept 18th.

I wasn't aware you came in recently again Nov. 13th But, everything that was done you were made aware of and you also supplied all the parts. I spoke to the mechanic who worked on your vehicle and he explained everything to you prior to doing the repairs. So, these parts were supplied by you and used and installed as per your request. Please be aware you have no warranty on labour as these are customer supplied parts.

He made you aware you had air ride suspension and you were going to go with regular shocks on the rear. The rear suspension was also saging prior to servicing- so you had a problem with the rear suspension prior to servicing. The service advisor didn't give you a breakdown of how the labour is charged for all the work we did. He combined the total labour instead on the 2 labour job codes under Miscellaneous Steering & Suspension. Oxygen sensors are not suspensions!
You got charged 8hr labour in total for all the repairs done on Nov. 13th. All parts were supplied by you and have no warranty with us.

Break down: Inner and Outer Tie Rods - is 2.6hr per side on this vehicle total 5.2hr. 4 oxygen sensor - labour 2.1 total - plus 2 rear sensors wear seized which took longer- we usually charge extra, Replacing the rear shocks was 1.5 each- we had to cut them out -bushing was seized - extra labour is usually charge if you have to do this. - Total for both shocks 3.0 - So, when I calculate the total labour 5.2+2.1+3.0= 10.3hrs. So, we under charged you as per my calculations by 2.3hrs labour. So, we didn't overcharge you.

Regarding what we charge our customer:
It's also posted at our register in the service center what our hourly rate is - $124hr. - flat rate.

The 2 visits totaled $2543 -(this is mostly labour as most parts were supplied by you) . What you got done at your other mechanic shop isn't my concern and any issues with the work they performed should be taken up with them and not with us.

I don't feel comfortable working on your vehicle because everytime we do something on it we are being blamed for something. We have never forced any repairs on you- all repairs are being done as per your request. Every time we worked on your vehicle the mechanic explained and made it clear what we were doing to your vehicle. I have mentioned to you the last time we spoke your vehicle is 15yrs old and has 359, 000km and has many problems. This makes me very hesitant to work on your vehicle and you still continue to put more money into it and supply your own parts. That's your choice and it's also my choice not to work on your vehicle going forward.

It's noted that the rear spring will be replaced when control arms are available. - I will not be doing these repairs on your vehicle going forward or any other repairs. If you want to get the spring done and control arms take the vehicle to the mechanic who did your brakes or another shop who feels comfortable working on your car.

Thank you,

Good morning Canadian Tire 192 (Owner, District Manager, Manager, and Supervisor)

Sorry for the late reply since I came and pick up my truck this past Saturday (after leaving it there on Friday morning at 08:30 AM); and picking it up the next day at 16:40. I am so upset that number one that I as charged a different rate per hour; and
over-charged for putting two gas shocks that were put in the wrong place, and the larger gas shock removed thus making my truck unstable at the rear when driving.
It seems that your mechanics do not care (nor your peoples sitting in the office - service manages and the Supervisor) do not seems to care about fixing my truck once and for all. I had to (in September 2021) show them that they charge me twice on work
not done; and now I am being overcharged for simple works which my other garages (including the manufacturer) were over priced, and unwanted for. I am still getting error messages on my dashboard after the work, and grinding noise in the front brakes, which
I cam for since September 2021.
I had the brakes done in July 2021; but it seems the previous garage did not provide me good service, and parts - I went to them in October 2021 (left my truck for 5 days at my cost); and they only fixed another issue (stemming from the power steering fluid)
which it looks like someone put a hole it as pressure leaks or leaks do not make straight circular holes!
The repair person put the rear gas shocks (smaller one) in the position where the larger gas shocks (supporting the frame "see below" are located). The shocks and Springs are for the rear (combo); not for the frame support gas shocks.
But Canadian Tire Automotive seems to be doing the same thing! Can or are you able to fix automobiles? Does it depends on the year and make? Please, let me know. Your hourly rate for fixing is not advertised anywhere so customers can be aware of you rate
(not only you; but many automotive repair garages). That is an issue with the Ontario Government which I will deal with because irrespective whom you are or who you are in Ontario (the Law must be followed to the lettre). We are not a Province of anyone
can do as they please irrespective of the consequences.
Please, let me know if you wish to resolve this once and for all; my cellular is:
416 346 5190 (Hans). You need to take your time when working on someone's automobile (not selective or wanting to get rid of someone by overcharging them); you need to stop saying "it is an old car" because if you cannot fix automobile of any year
or model then CTC should say so; and advertised so.
The comment from your Automotive Manager that Ï spent "$4, 000.00"at another location does not give you the right to gorge me out of my hard earned money as the other garage will be held to the same level of responsibility if they do not fix the issue or
are giving me defective parts - they will be shut down and royally advertised so through the Public, Media, and Legal Claims. Do not look at them as a excuse to repeat their mistakes.
The safety of my Family/Friends are important to me - do not put fuel to the fire.
Sincerely

Hans

Canadian Tire - exhorbitant auto repair quote

I went in for brake inspection for my 1994 Plymouth Voyager in Canadian Tire Auto service center at 1019, Sheppard Ave. E in Willowdale, Ontario and was charged @22.59. After an hour wait the auto service adviser told me it will cost $955.25 to repair the breaks and he said I had to replace the front brake calipers, rotors, shoes and rear brake pads and turn the drums, flush the system. He did not give me written estimate but when I questioned him to do so he reluctantly printed out his estimate. I bought all the parts and changed the front brake calipers, drum and the pads for $100 by calling a mechanic listed in Craigslist. Cost of parts was $189.00. When both the rear wheels were examined there was no wear and they looked as new. So I returned the unused parts and got credit. When I went to the store to find out why they quoted for the work that was not required all they could say was that particular mechanic and service adviser were on duty and I am free to file this complaint. My advise to all customers of Canadian Tire store is to be beware of all their auto quotes and do get a second opinion before you throw your money away.
